I used up the remainder of my decant today, and I'm going to keep my eye out for a deal on a big bottle. It's really the best for hot weather, the olfactory equivalent of a forest bath (the scent profile is more citrus than woody, so imagine that you are forest-bathing in a lemon grove, I guess). Personally, I enjoy the oakmoss note (or whatever synthetic approximation is meeting the current IFRA regs), but I love vintage fragrances and do not accept "dated," "old-lady," or even "mature" as scent categories. When I see those phrases used as negative descriptors, I relegate the reviewer to baby-brained TikTok simpleton whose fondest dream is to become one with the ethyl maltol compound and transform into caramelized goo. I don't hate gourmands, but I don't understand why anyone would want to smell like a tray of glazed donuts when it's 100 degrees Fahrenheit with 90% humidity. Ô de Lancôme is both refreshing and perfectly unisex, and I wish I had a gigantic bottle in my refrigerator right now.

envision fumes of oakmoss and vetiver forming a hand that grasps your neck and starts choking you out. If you are into that, knock yourself out. i know i'm not

I usually love a freshie, but the oak moss in this keeps it from feeling like your typical freshie. I think that back when this was introduced, it would’ve been considered one, since the era was defined by heavy musky, ambery, mossy and spicy chypre fragrances. The citrus is definitely in the forefront. The color of the juice and the bottle fits this scent perfectly. I find that an oak moss note is what makes a lot of these vintage fragrances feel a bit dated. It gives a scent a very dry dusty feeling. It’s not as common in fragrances today, partly due to new regulations. Therefore, when I smell it, I know it’s most likely a vintage fragrance and make such associations. I never minded oak moss back in the day, but since it’s been pretty absent in recent perfumery, I have to say, my nose is no longer accustomed to it. This is a long lasting scent for a citrus scent but on my skin, the citrus burns off as quickly as expected and I’m soon left with the base notes of oak moss, vetiver and sandalwood. My skin always pulls woody notes out to the forefront. I don’t have any memories of this fragrance, I think if I had positive memories of it, I would enjoy it more. I’ve heard many good things about this scent, but it just isn’t my kind of scent. I personally think it’s too dry for summer. I actually think it would smell amazing on my husband more than on me. I am glad I tried it and I’ll probably keep it in my vintage collection, but I don’t think I would ever wear it. Later-I couldn’t take the mossy smell, although it mellowed in the dry down. So I sprayed BBW warm vanilla sugar over it. Oddly, it created a very pretty combination!

I really enjoy this as a scent to wear on walks, or just when I'm going to be outside all day. I've found it gives me a feeling of restless wanderlust, and energy that really only works when the sun is out and there's things to do. It's a unripe citrus rind and herb smell over a bed of moss. It smells neither Masculine or Feminine, just....kinetic and enjoyable. I also find the lasting power to be shockingly good for this type of scent. I usually expect these sort of scents to be gone at most 4 hours, but this clings to the skin for 8+ hours extremely easily. It's situational as it gets for me, but I'm a huge fan.

This has been a longtime favourite of mine - on about my fourth or fifth bottle. Still get compliments on it too; my cleaner just walked by and remarked on it so I have given her a spray :) Bitter citrus and herbs are a winning formula - so refreshing.

Ô de Lancôme will always remind me of my mum , it was her signature scent The fragrance is so delicate, fresh, and effortlessly elegant. Every time she wore it people would compliment her, saying you smell so good t’s a timeless perfume that carries both sophistication and softness 🌱✨️

Oh dear, how I've missed you. You make me feel cool on the hottest days of the year. I love the vintage-look frosted bottle. I forgot how much I loved you and have another brand-new bottle now. Every few years I crave this scent, but I should wear it much more than that. I'm in love again. Beautifully done despite the reformulations; oh, it's so gorgeous. Buy two bottles if you love it.

Perfect for a hot day in 95 degrees, like today. You can really smell the basil! Love this summery chypre cologne!

Анонім★★★★★

Oh this smells just like my grandma! Such a beautiful vintage scent, I think of her when I wear it, I miss her and this scent makes me very happy

O has a very astringent, pithy citrus aldehydic opening. Then it quickly (<15 min) settles into a gray-green, musky vetiver-and-oakmoss base. (Civet’s not mentioned in the notes but it’s in there.) It’s from 1969 but it feels like the 70s. Genuinely comfortable and lived-in, not the least bit prim. Reminds me a bit of Halston in its tonality (lighter than many chypres, yet “earthy” and skin-like), but of course O is far simpler. Just bitter lemon up top, and vetiver/oakmoss/civet down below. It’s effortlessly unisex and nails the “me but better” understated chic thing. It’s summer, you don’t really want to wear a perfume-perfume, you like citrus, but you want something a little funkier than cologne? You want O de Lancome.

I finally bought this classic beauty and although I love it, it is very far from what I expected from it after reading the reviews and that it's so close to Eau de Rochas. On my skin Eau de Rochas is more unique with its hot pebble-note and classy, unisex drydown, while O de Lancome (current formula) is way more feminine with a classic, rather dry chypre vibe quite similar to the dry down of Madame Rochas and it also reminds me of the drydown of Miss Dior Originale. I love both, but feel like Eau de Rochas is more of a private fragrance after a shower and for staying at home, while O de Lancome is more elegant, perfumey and more simple but in a good way.

Very nice and fresh, eau de cologne type of smell. It is perfectly unisex. Reminds me of Eau de Rochas. The new formulation is much brighter and uplifting. It is more modern. The OG is very classic or outdated. It is green and bitter with a ton of real oakmoss. I prefer the current formulation.

Not re-inventing the wheel by any means, but an easy reach when you just need something lovely to spritz generously as the weather warms up. Citrus, green herbs and vetiver, possibly a little too much vetiver for me. We have all smelled this scent profile a million times before, but I will happily smell it again, it just works. I kinda miss this era of perfumery; perhaps the market wasn't quite so saturated. A fragrance didn't need to be super unique or extraordinary. It just needed to smell good. Simplicity can be so appealing after spending too much time down a niche rabbit hole. VERDICT: Super likeable, but not particularly loveable. Good!

Very similar to Eau de Rochas by Rochas. I would say they are twin brothers.

Been mentioned a few times already. I felt like I smelled this type of profile a lot somewhere else in male fragrances. I don't think the longevity is much of an issue; I got a decent 5-6 hours, which is totally fine for this type of scent. It has a "gentlemanly" green barbershop aura with herbal and mossy notes. It smells natural, and the initial opening is, as mentioned before, cold. The citruses in the opening feel "fuzzy," and at first, I interpreted everything as petitgrain/neroli. Quite pungent, it lasts for a bit until some more soapy rosemary/basil with sage and coriander undertones emerge. The full dry-down is much calmer. The oakmoss is still very prominent and takes on a basic structure that you'd typically expect from a male fragrance. However missing more denser sandalwood or a musk/ambers. Since it's intended as a female fragrance, it takes on a gentler approach in the base, with a muted grassy vetiver and barely noticeable sandalwood, just enough to bind the oakmoss. You'd think the freshness would make it good for the summer. But these scents with dominant oakmoss really don't react well with heat. I see them more as freshies exclusively for cold spring days, fits the green theme a lot more too. It's quite pleasant. It does feel a bit lackluster and uninspired. Also quite old-fashioned and hard to wear compared to similar male fragrances.

Gentleman caller, here. This perfume copies 2 traditional masculine scent profiles - one in the opening, one in the dry down. As dozens have said before me, this perfume performs terribly, but the scents it resembles do not, so if you want Ô but with more oomph, read on. The opening is, in fact, a decent rendering of the spine that ran through the emergence of mass male perfumery in the 15 years 1957 to 1972. The opening is a straight up and down masculine citrus, extraordinarily close to Eau Sauvage by Dior (which I have on a forearm), but sitting close by to others, such as Givenchy pour Monsieur (I have the vintage on one wrist), and Chanel pour Monsieur. You can even see the affinity with Yves Saint Laurent Pour Homme, though there is no lavender here. So if you love this part of the scent, but want more - more personality, projection, durability -then you know where to look! This opening was, though, woefully short. It disappears COMPLETELY about 20 mins in. It rapidly dries down to something a bit more herbal/soapy, and even more "conventionally masculine," like an ultra lightweight Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, or Worth Pour Homme (or even ultra cheapos Rapport or Mandate). It has their soapy, herbal, mossy underpinnings - sage, moss, rosemary, basil. I disliked the dry down (I own PRPH, Worth PH, Rapport and Mandate but rarely wear them). But if you DO like it, then they are all more robust, dynamic versions of this part of the scent profile, too. These are all cheap. So there you have it. If you like either part of this spectacularly weak/short-lived scent, you have much more robust, purposeful examples of these elements to explore...

This has been done so much, the top notes are fresh but rapidly dissipate in a flash to the common dry down of the 70s, early 80s that has been done so much, the incense, moss, patchouli and some wood that I guess was copied in so many frags it smells middle eastern lady to me and not fresh at all, I think it's madame rochas, paloma picasso, indian summer, and another that will come to me, that come to mind. It's not for me. I will say this is a lighter version with less lasting power so after you scrub it, if you choose to, it will not haunt you for days but will go away. If I was going to wear that scent, I would choose this over the others, I do think it's a good light version of it.

I would be happy with a bottle no larger than 75ml, but I could only find it in 125ml size. Now I understand why such a big size like 125ml is better. The scent is so refreshing, just what is needed during hot summer days, but it does not last, you may want to reaply it generously during a day to enjoy it to the fullest, for as long as the season permits, without the fear of running out. On the dry gown, it reminds me of Aqua Allegoria Forte Nerolia Vetiver Guerlain, which I finally added to my collection because it's beautiful.

Amazing, cold, fresh, slightly herbal but not medicinal, with a very strong nostalgic old fashioned soap note. Cold orange blossom meets lemon meets granny's soap. 10/10

What is this strange magic? A freshie-citrus chypre? It's positively chartreuse! (I'm speaking metaphorically--the juice itself is just regular pale yellow). I should have ordered this travel sprayer ages ago. When I lift my self-imposed moratorium, I might buy a full bottle. I live in a hot, humid city, and we're having a heat wave, and Ô la la does Ô de Lancôme fulfill all my summertime scent desiderata! It's pure olfactory refreshment. Scentwise, its complex mix of green spices makes me think of my beloved Dior Eau Sauvage, vintage formulation, although it reads slightly more feminine than that while still occupying the unisex category to my nose. Obviously, anyone can wear whatever, regardless of gender, but these are my personal associations, and I can say with great confidence that I would rather smell Ô de Lancôme on my particular man than, say, Guerlain Insolence or another unrepentantly girly-girl concoction. Not that he would wear either. I might be able to persuade him to wear the Ô, but only from a travel sprayer. That pretty bottle would set off his macho censors probably. His loss! I doubt I will want to share this anyway. I think even people who don't like perfume would find this pleasant. It smells like you have just taken a shower and washed your hair.

Анонім★★★★★

this is a wonderful lemony citrus bomb with a strong ticklish note of carrot to my nose! feels tasty to smell it. I don't really get the basil note but definitely the coriander. I would definitely consider wearing this with a blousy shirt on a spring day with a straw hat ❤️

I am one of those kids that grew up where Ô de Lancôme was in every relative's bathroom as the go-to summer cologne for the entire family. This is one tradition I have continued in my own home for decades. It is refreshing (summers are dry and blazing hot where I live) comforting and just feels like "home". This weekend I went onto the Lancôme Canada website to order a large bottle of Ô de Lancôme and not only is their site not processing transactions due to "maintenance", Ô de Lancôme is now marked as "discontinued". I am at an age where I lose something I love to discontinuation or reformulation beyond recognition, every 6 months. Bummer.

It’s a very fresh perfume but I find it too bitter/sour at times. I wouldn’t have bought it myself but received it as a gift.

Анонім★★★★★

Have always loved this, even in my twenties. A slightly powdery green, citrus scent that is uplifting and cheeky. Absolutely will buy again now I'm in my fifties!

Анонім★★★★★

Love, love it!😊. Normally i really hate lemon perfumes but this one is devine. I have the vintage extra concentrate version. And boy it's a bower bomb. It's fresh, Woody, chypre and a little flowery, powdery and this version is quite soapy on my skin The projection and longtivity is good several hours at least. A vintage blind buy which turned out very good. It smells like an expensive bar of soap. Not soft but quite loud. 👍🏻

got gifted this perfume a while ago. The scent was too grandma-coded for me. Gave it to my grandma and no surprise.... she loved it lol

Анонім★★★★★

Uh. Major fail. Bought this by mistake instead of O L'Orangerie. Yack. Very old fashioned and it took 3 handwashes to scrub it off!

Анонім★★★★★

O how I could have loved O de Lancome but it was not meant to be! 😞 It started out bright lemon and bergamot and lovely herbaceousness, oh my! Then came the drydown letdown....on my skin, it smelled like burnt tires. (Yes, I know the odor of burning tires.) I had to scrub it 😞 I don't know if I will try it again in warmer weather.

A fresh aromatic goodness For the price you pay the quality is definitely present Citrus is the strongest in the opening after a while the citrus disappears and leaves the aromatic notes to shine Definitely a summer scent I felt it leans more masculine than feminine TBH it’s not anything special but if you are a lover or collector of aromatic scents you need to try it Performance was great on me just be generous with your sprays

Selling on my Vinted shop if anyone wants this full 75ml bottle.
