From an Angel lover this is some scrummy stuff. Leans a bit femme but I don't care I could eat myself!
It’s a more affordable, but less synthetic clone of Yum Pistachio Gelato by Kayali, but not bad at all. It’s a lactonic, pistachio-vanilla fragrance, sweet and yummy. I love this one! It’s so, so similar to the original.
If you cannot stand cloyingly sweet vanilla scents stay far away from this! It's extremely sweet, lactonic, and powdery. I kept waiting for it to lean into baby powder territory but thank goodness it kinda just stayed cupcake frosting sweet. Reminds me of the drydown of either a Bath & Body Works or Victoria's Secret lotion from the late 90s or early 00's; I cannot remember which one! Maybe I'm just thinking of Warm Vanilla and all the other vanilla iterations from Bath & Body Works. I do get pistachio ice cream at the beginning but the drydown is vanilla cupcake frosting and hazelnut creamer when I spray it on skin. I sprayed it on my polyester work clothes and it got a weird note that made me think of baby powder and bug spray but that seems to happen with alot of my fragrances so avoid spraying on certain synthetic fabrics. Kayali's pistachio also smells really powdery and kind of disappointed me and that's why I never bought it but when I saw the reviews on Latafta Affection and saw the really low price I thought I would give fragrances with pistachio notes another chance. I can't see myself wearing this one alot since it's super powdery and I work outside mostly in the heat and humidity but I might bring it out for colder weather. If you work in an office job under the a/c then you could try this out but it's sweetness might offend some people. Use this stuff sparingly! The association with vanilla cupcake sweetness and body lotions from bbw and vs make this lean very feminine to me. I can't see guys wearing this but since this stuff is really cheap you could use it for layering if you want to add sweet and milky pistachio and hazelnut to your scent bubble. Not really blind buy safe unless it's for someone who likes super sweet vanillas and powdery stuff.
Pleasant vanilla caramel and floral notes, and what smells like popcorn. Must be the nuts. Not bad but not my profile. No scream for once, which I appreciate!
I got a sample of this in the Queen of Arabia gift box that includes four small travel size scents. I had been reluctant to buy it previously because some reviews I had seen were very negative, but it’s actually lovely. It doesn’t have that urinal cake issue that many pistachio/almond scents often have. I need to properly test it, but I currently have five different perfumes on me so I will need to come back and edit this review.
I bought this recently and wore it today. It was a warm day, I was worried it might be too heavy, but it actually wears beautifully in the heat—it comes across as fresh, bright, and comforting. It has a lovely nutty, creamy vibe without being overly cloying. It projects well for about 5 hours before sitting closer to the skin, but I still get delicious wafts of it as I move around. Best of all, my husband noticed it right away and complimented me! Such a budget-friendly gem. I recommend and believe it to be a pretty safe blind buy.
I really love Affection. It’s not overly sweet, and it has a fresh green note. As it dries down, it becomes slightly creamy and nutty with this soft, smooth sweetness that’s so pretty without ever becoming too much. It’s an easy, comforting fragrance that I can see myself reaching for a lot in these cooler months. Definitely one of my favourites from Lattafa so far.
On the initial spray I was hit with a chemical smell that reminded me of Windex window cleaner. This lingered for a few minutes but as the fragrance sat on my skin it mellowed to the more milky/creamy notes which were much more pleasant. The chemical scent did fade (thankfully) but it made me nervous at first. The nutty quality bloomed as the scent warmed on my skin. I like it after it dries down a bit. I'm not sure how it will mature over time, but the tonka/vanilla vibe is cozy, and I love the milky creaminess. That opening tho can be harsh if you don't expect it.
Affection by Lattafa Pride is a cozy gourmand dream. It kicks off with a bright, uplifting opening that quickly transitions into a rich, creamy pistachio gelato accord. As it settles, it develops a fluffy, powdery dry-down that wraps around you like a warm sweater—making it absolute perfection for the colder autumn and winter months. Pistachio & Hazelnut (The Opening Energy): Deliver a rich, nutty sweetness right at the start. The pistachio creates that unmistakable, mouthwatering gelato vibe, while hazelnut adds a toasted depth. Black Currant & Raspberry (The Brightness): Bring a sharp, tart fruitiness to the top and heart. They give the fragrance its bright opening, cutting through the heavy hazelnut so the scent starts off energetic rather than dense. Lactones (The Creaminess): Play a major role in both the heart and base, providing a smooth, milky texture that connects the nutty opening directly to the dessert-like base. Jasmine & Lily of the Valley (The Floral Balance): Soften the gourmand elements in the middle, preventing the fragrance from feeling overly sugary and giving it a clean, elegant structure. Vanilla & Tonka Bean (The Powdery Base): Anchor the entire composition with a velvety warmth. Together with the lingering lactones, they create that cozy, powdery dry-down that lingers beautifully in cool air.
Fun, young, easy going fragrance. Not overly "edible". It's the quality level of a high end shampoo scent and it's good for what it is.
Affection is definitely in this fresher soapy pistachio league, not the vanilla pistachio genre. It doesn't have the cardamom spice just the fresh soapy lily of the valley and its sour lactones so it's not as herbal-spicy as the Kayali dupe I have by the Dua yet it still has a sharp tart spicy opening slightly masculine I'd say. The black currant makes it equally sour but not as high pitched and airy, more dense than the Dua one and the lack of the excess notes makes it a bit deeper so more unisex. Milky notes and lactones are sometimes sour ambroxan-like on me so Affection has a sweet waxy yet sour ambroxan effect to it the first 1 hour which dominates the scent. (Manaal has it too). It's soapy right off the bat while the Dua takes awhile to morph into its soapy character due to the weird bergamot dominating. The black currant makes it a bit minty-fresh and almost fizzy spicy as if there's pear - typical for black currant. This is fresher imo than the Kayali even tho both are fresh but this lacks in the fruity sweetness department. It's more bold compared to Pistachio Dream Gelato 33 by the Dua which starts off obnoxiously sour like Palmolive dish wash detergent by the bergamot-pear, but becomes smoother quicker than Affection and it's sweeter by the rum and peach, raspberry, cotton candy and the other sweet accords after maceration. The plethora of notes in the Dua one make it more aromatic-ethereal, a bit herbal too. Affection comes off herbal as well but with a sharpness from the black currant while the pistachio is more intense than in the Dua one, the raspberry vanilla provide moderate sweetness and the lactones provide the waxy sour element for that ambroxan screechy effect similar to scents like Vanilla Milk Ellis Brooklyn, Eau Gourmande Ambre Vanille by Laura Mercier/ Dua Amber Vanilla Gourmand with the amber, orchid, heliotrope, tangerine, DUA Era of Vanilla with the heliotrope, orchid, vanilla, milk, aldehydes - too screechy waxy. Yara, Zara Cocoa Sunset, Amo Ferragamo, Pepe Jeans, Dua Ajwa Dates Milk and many more featuring the same sour sweet ambery waxy effect. However it's not as obnoxious as these and the pistachio with the surrounding green notes in it differentiate it as a scent. The Dua dupe of Kayali even tho it has an ambroxan sour effect too, it doesn't feel as waxy so it doesn't remind me of the standard waxy sweet sour element of the Yara - Zara Cocoa Sunset clan. As a scent Affection is better quality, it doesn't have a detergent accord at the top. The Dua one has the more high pitched green lily of the valley soapiness and it's more girly. Affection is rather unisex and stays soapy, quite tart, minty-fresh with the nutty vein strong, but becomes a lot smoother less astringent at the drydown with the tonka adding depth. The Dua one is more aldehydic by the geranium- peony, but also more fruity-sweet and powdery by all the fruity notes and the cacao, Turkish delight, marshmallows, cotton candy, whipped cream blend. The dish wash bergamot persists in the Dua and that's the downside even tho maceration rendered it smoother than it used to be. Affection reminds me of White Tiger by Dua with the ambroxan sour coconut water and green chlorophyll but with added pistachio and soapiness. The masculine soapiness at the top is very attractive to me. The issue is it only lasts 2 hrs but projects well.
I rarely get dupes, but this one is by far much better than the original. The added lactones really give it that creamy sweet pistachio gelato feel, not to mention there is something sharp in the original. I also don’t mind the bottle, it’s sturdy and doesn’t scratch easily like Kayalis frosted bottle. I will definitely be repurchasing.
Absolutely love this one. Pleasantly surprised with its performance. The sillage is strong initially then becomes moderate. Clean soapy opening then the pistachio nuttiness comes in with the creamy notes. I think it could be worn all year round and it’s a dressing up scent. Gorgeous fragrance 🥰
After a year in my fragrance wardrobe, it has developed into a beautiful, soft and cozy scent. The longevity, sillage, and projection are quite noticeable for being such a softer fragrance. This is a "curl up on the couch with a good book" kind of perfume. It does remind me of YP, but it's a tad lighter on the wear. To me, this is a linear scent, but whenever I first acquired my bottle, it wasn't pleasant. It does need a month or two to mature, but it's worth the $20 price tag. Longevity- 8+ hours Sillage- Moderate Projection- 2-4ft
The Yum Pistachio Gelato clones on the market fall on a spectrum from 'cold-smelling' like actual ice-cream (from a cool musk; since frozen ice-cream emits an airy musk and is less creamy) to a creamier 'melted ice-cream' smell (or perhaps a milkshake smell, since melted ice-cream doesn't sound as appealing). Here's an ordered ranking of where each falls on that spectrum. From 'coldest' to creamiest: - Paris Corner Khair Pistachio ('coldest' smelling clone; most true to the idea of pistachio gelato/ice-cream, and my favourite as a result; actually smells 'cold' in winter when there's cold air accompanying the scent in your nostrils; less realistic when smelling it with warm air) - Lattafa Affection (the most balanced between 'cold' and creamy, and is still noticeably 'cold'; if you own Lattafa Affection, you don't need Paris Corner Khair Pistachio unless you're a perfectionist for this DNA, because they're largely redundant) - French Avenue Luscious (This probably ranks here, but I'm not entirely sure since I haven't smelt it in a while and the bottle is buried under boxes. But this also adds a 'peanuts' accord, which is kind of cardboard-adjacent to my nose, and dulls the composition with the most bland/boring accord imaginable to my nose, personally. The peanuts accord ruins it for me, but this is some other people's favourite clone of this DNA because of the peanuts accord. We all smell scents differently though - there's something like a 30% variance from person to person in olfactory receptor genes.) - Fragrance World Elysia Pista Sundae (a much creamier version; gives the impression of melted ice-cream or a milkshake) I don't own the OG so I can't rank the OG for now, but based on other reviews, it might be the absolute 'coldest' smelling and some detect an additional soapiness in it. Maybe that cold-air musk comes off as soapiness to some people when they're smelling it in warm weather, as opposed to smelling it in winter? Also, I haven't tried the other clones from Gulf Orchid, Zimaya, Afnan, etc. I'm super-happy with the Paris Corner clone though, and it was ironically the very last clone I bought for this DNA, despite being the very first to market (I think). Who knew the first to market could be the best smelling (i.e. the most like frozen ice-cream), and with probably the best performance?
Pleasant vanilla caramel and floral notes, and what smells like popcorn. Must be the nuts. Not bad but not my profile. This is the first Lattafa frangrance I have sampled that doesn't have any screamwood in it. yay!
Pistachio, vanilla, tonka and raspberry. A lightweight, fruity, slightly candy sweet & milky pistachio scent. Good sillage and longitivity. Not bad.
I just wore the final drops of my bottle today and oh the compliments galore! So it projects and it lasts and the silliage is great… but it could be because my bottle has just been getting old and strong and now it’s in the trash cuz I used it all up. I enjoyed the creaminess of this ice cream truck scent and now I’m off to repurchase because woah they dropped the price by like half since I bought mine.
I love pistachio, however i'm yet to find my perfect pistachio scent. Maybe this is the one? Let's see... This starts off nutty and slightly green with a burst of blackcurrant. OH yes, now I see where the shampoo comparisons are coming from! The blackcurrant does smell a little like fruity soap, but I honestly don't mind the scent. When it dries down, I start to smell more of the milky notes, with a touch of vanilla or tonka bean. Lactonic perfumes are a love for me, so I really enjoy this part. It's a gorgeous blend for sure, creamy, nutty and well balanced. Unfortunately, the projection on this is so intimate... so you really have to get up close and personal to smell anything significant. Longevity is also an issue, lasting around 4 hours, even with overspraying. Don't get me started on the bottle presentation. It's bloody hideous! I'm glad this was just a sample.
Very nutty and milky. On my skin lasts about 4hr and then needs reapplying unfortunately. Love it. Very close to khair pistachio - with khair being a little bit more airy and more suitable for summer.
If you love Kayali YPG this is for you. I had a sample of YPG from the Kayali discovery layering set and I loved it and used it up so fast, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy a full size at this time. I decided to try this dupe in the meantime and dude it is IDENTICAL. I am so happy I tried this out because now I can very affordably have this scent profile in my collection and live my best pistachio life. This layers amazingly with EOS pistachio lotion and SDJ cheirosa 62 to last all day and smell super consistently gourmand and nutty.
I got this in a set and it’s not quite for me. However, it’s because I don’t enjoy pistachio in my perfumes. I can’t remember what Yum Pistachio Gelato smells like, and I think this is a dupe for it, but this is a milky, nutty vanilla. Performance is classic Lattafa - good for the price. Well worth a try for the nut nuts!
This is a fantastic scent with a wonderful blend of notes that complements each so perfect
Lovely pistachio ice cream scent, close to the Kayali one. It is a tad big floral and honestly, I like this scent better than the OG. Creamy, cozy, clean. Best way to describe it Performance is underwhelming. Lasts about 3 hours and sits close to the skin. I will finish this one and would most likely not repurchase it.
I got this in a lattafa pride gift set and it was one of the two that I really fell in love with. This smells like a sweet vanilla flavored almond milk. Kind of reminds me of Le Beau but without any of the citrus brightness that creates that tropical feel. Instead this is more suited for cooler weather, very intimate and fairly understated in its sweetness. I could imagine a woman wearing this in any occasion, for a man its a bit more polarizing - probably not the best for clubbing or a first date but a nice little treat for yourself or your partner when you want to feel cozy.
Creamy pistachio with hazelnut and pleasant, warm season friendly vanilla sweetness. I've got Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato and I find the Affection's drydown very similar to it. It's more creamy and maybe a bit less sweet. The performance of Lattafa's dupe is better though, Kayali simply does not compare here. I like to layer them both together to get the best of both worlds. Great for spring and summer, but will be great in the winter too when layered with something heavier/creamier. It'd smell great on a man too. Can't beat the price for this. I'll definitely repurchase.
All I get from it is soap, a bathtub with cold soapy water with some wilted jasmine. No creamy pistachio or hazelnut or black currant (I looove these notes so it’s depressing that I don’t get them from this) I keep coming back to it once in a while but it disappoints me again and again… Update: I sold it to get rid of it
I really like this perfume! I have the little travel size Yum Pistachio Gelato and I really wanted to try one of the inspirations. Affection by Lattafa was the cheapest one I found. I chose it because the reviews said it smelled creamier and it definitely does. But the main difference I found was that YPG smells COLD. Yes, cold. and affection doesn’t, it’s cozier. I like them both and enjoy them both. I was afraid I would have to wait a few months for my bottle to smell good but I liked it since the first spray. I can also detect the nuttiness of the fragrance. To me it doesn’t smell like soap at all.
I am very disappointed. It is so weak that I cannot even identify the notes.
All I ever got from this was a soapy flower. I sold it.
