This is the big daddy compliment getter. Vetiver is absolutely fine crisp and isn't dull even in the dry down. It's literally a perfect resemblance of an alpha. Shouts male hormones... Longevity is damnn good. 6-7 sprays and it's been over 15+ hours... I can still smell it...

Earthy, smoky, ashy, cigarette like vetiver with citrus facets similar to Fiero. Ultra masculine.

This has honey in it and it's not listed, or shall I say I can smell honey. Maybe I'm combination of notes that make it smell like honey Aaron, Terrence Hughes points this out in his review. I smelled it yesterday and then he confirmed it when I watched the review the very next day. This is a really good fragrance signature worthy.

to me this smells like a toothpaste. why would anyone want to smell like a toothpaste is a question indeed…

You are in a fancier florist shop, where they prepare a bouquet of fresh cut flowers for you. It is not a tall bouquet with prominent flowers, but rather a wider, lower, rich and round bouquet. It is tied and sprayed with gloss on the leaves of the flowers. After an hour, a slightly dusty pollen appears, not unlike fenugreek, and the fragrance from the pleasant green blooms with a golden ochre reflection... not that much special, but not common either. Mediocre projection and longevity - very good in comparison with price.

The Emperor of vetivers. Absolutely stunning. Unfortunately too strong for my climate.

A really complex and dense fragrance with attar oil like mannerisms. A damp swamp full of vetiver roots, smoke coming from far, a hill full of resinous pine trees fifty feet away. A soft kiss from jasmine/tuberose/hedione marking it's territory. A tarry vetiver coming from the javanese type, a sweet floral sweet vetiverish acetate poses a stark contrast in the drydown punching it's way through the protective layer of generic fixatives. The rough edges can be felt but this is the full jungle experience not a touristy safari. Only the patient and melancholic among men will enjoy this. Others will try to shy away. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum is quite similar im style and structure. A bit pricey for what it brings to the table but definitely worth a try.

Another really impressive blend from Nishane. Very well done, though once again, I am not convinced it is "for me" or evocative of "me". I am rating it a "like" for this reason, but it honestly feels like it deserves a higher rating from me. This one leans decidedly masculine between the vetiver and leather, but the very floral neroli is strong, and perhaps a bit too prominent for my tastes. We will see what it dries down to. At this point, it is not a buy for me, but is great juice and adds to my perception of Nishane.

I ordered a sample because I have a love-hate relationship with niche fragrances—they either become instant favorites or complete nightmares. They're also far too expensive for me to buy blind. Unfortunately, this one falls into the second category. The opening immediately reminded me of a medicinal mouthwash, with a scent that evokes a dentist's office. I assume that's the anise. As it develops, it transforms into something completely different: an old, abandoned church still carrying centuries of incense in its walls, but mixed with the smell of damp mold. I have to admit, though, it has an incredible presence and remarkable longevity. Even after washing it off three times with soap, the scent was still there. It's undeniably impressive—but definitely not for me. Also, I usually like unisex scents but this one is strongly masculine.

Wow, what a difference a couple of weeks makes. After my first wear, I was ready to throw this in the trash. It was sour, moldy and earthy - unwearable. I put the bottle on the shelf and thought, I will never touch that again. Well, for some reason, today, I decided to give it one more chance to behave. I liberally applied the fragrance and just as I figured, I was met with that same sourness. I was about to wash it off, when all of a sudden I got a whiff and thought, wait, what’s that. This fragrance magically turned into a something wonderful. It still has a bit of the sour, but it’s now met with multiple vetiver scents and a hint of white florals. The amber and vanilla help sweeten up the hole concoction. The sillage is strong as shit. One of the best vetivers out there. Rating 8.5/10.

This scent is an odd one for me. On first sniff I get a really smokey ashy leather. It honestly smells like an ashtray. I envision an old man in his holey sweatpants sitting in his indented easy chair smoking cigarettes with a can of old cigarette butts next to him. Then quickly a citrus air freshener scent comes forward. After an hour, it's lovely. The ashiness dissipates and it turns into a woody ambery tonka bean vetiver. I don't know if I'll buy a full bottle but it's certainly interesting enough, and quality enough to use up my sample.

Nishane #10 – Witchcraft Vetiver Without a shadow of a doubt, Sultan Vetiver was the fragrance i was the most curious about when i bought the Nishane discovery set. Being a huge vetiver fan, it sparked my curiosity years ago by being heralded as a vetiver perfume with a personality as few others possess. As much as i love vetiver, i believe there is little novelty it can bring to the table for me so naturally, a bold interpretation of the note hyped me up to no end. My expectations from Sultan Vetiver was a strong spicy, even peppery dry perfume. Something like Lorenzo Villoresi’s Piper Nigrum only with a prominent vetiver. Piper Nigrum kicks the door on you with its pepper and spices and to this date i haven’t smelt something so rawly spicy and i expected that from Sultan Vetiver aswell. Now that i got to test it, its not in that direction at all but the encounter brings another perfume to my mind. I see many people label Francesca Bianchi’s The Black Knight as a vetiver perfume and even Miss Bianchi herself does so. I personally cannot detect any vetiver in it, not one bit and that might be because my nose cannot get past the thick curtain of honey and leather in that perfume. With Sultan Vetiver i get the impression that its actually The Black Knight only the dark honey was completely replaced with the vetiver whilst the atmosphere and heavy volume remained the same. Adding to the string of comparitions and given the name, Sultan Vetiver does to its main note what Ambre Sultan does to his. It gives it much heft and maturity. The one thing i was correctly expecting is that its a perfume with a strong character. You can easily tell that its an extrait and a highly concentrated one at that. It feels thick, oily, damp, murky and turbulent. Encre Noire is dark, but it is autumnal dark whilst Sultan Vetiver is more like a winter vetiver and that is something i haven’t encountered before. Its one of those scentprofiles that risks being hard to wear and give the impression that its weighing the user down if applied in the wrong circumstances or weather. Its also one of those perfumes that effortlessly evoke a scenery, without me having to brainstorm on a story to tie it to. Lovers of video games will understand my impression because Sultan Vetiver makes me think of The Witcher 3’s world. Think of a hut at the edge of the village where the feared witch/healer lives. You enter her hut and there’s a cauldron on her stove. You don’t know what sort of medicine or poison she is brewing but for sure you want nothing to do with it. There’s a dark green and brown liquid boiling and churning in the cauldron and its emanating a strong grassy, rooty scent. Sultan Vetiver doesn’t even feel like vetiver, but viscous vetiver oil. Like the natural, raw material used to create the vetiver accord or even vetiver absolute if there exists such an ingredient. Its tarr-y, almost gasoline-like, extremely concentrated but also somehow natural. Its niche through and through and can be considered challenging or intimidating. Based on my hype and the opinions on Sultan Vetiver, i was convinced that it would go on my wishlist. Now that i get to smell it, im not so sure. I resonate with the dark witchy atmosphere it creates but Encre Noire already built a vetiver in a gothic context and i don’t know if i prefer it over the Lalique. Also, if im looking for another dark woody interpretation on the note, there is Guerlain’s Vetiver Parfum and that is easier to pull off and might better scratch that itch. Im holding my horses on this one for now but it's not completely off the table.

A highly complex fragrance, for many a true work of art. The quality is undeniable, and it showcases vetiver in a way few fragrances do. Unfortunately, I can't get past an accord that reminds me of a damp wooden shed after rain. I respect the craftsmanship and understand the praise it receives, but it's not something I enjoy wearing. A pass for me, though the 50ml bottle is staying in the collection. Will not give a score out of 10 on this one.

Анонім★★★★★

Not my cup of tea nor has anything to do with my persona. I don't plan to smell like Gandalf or Saruman. 🧙♂️ I will finish this vial, and never again...

Vetiver was a very special note in my house growing up. My dad used to splash some on me on Sundays before going to church. So for me, it's not a polarizing note at all. In fact, it's kind of nostalgic. But to each their own. Personally, I love this scent. It takes me on a journey that morphs throughout the life of the fragrance. Each time I wear it I feel like I get to discover another tiny corner of the scent profile. On my skin, it projects VERY nicely, and actually DOES last all day for me. Even longer on clothes. You don't need many sprays, which means a 50ml bottle will last you a long time. Just remember, you can adjust more or less sprays depending on the season or the occasion, indoor / outdoor, you know...

Анонім★★★★★

A great example of vetiver in all its glory. Bought a sample. Not sure how often I would reach for a bottle of this. Well composed, but not necessarily something that is easily wearable IMO

Анонім★★★★★

I love Sultan Vetiver, but to be completely honest, for an "Extrait-Vetiver Fragrance" its NOT as "Long Lasting" as folks claim it is. Im getting a good 6 maybe 7 hours (On Skin) even after moisturizing with a thin layer of Aquaphor beforehand which isnt bad at all, but it doesnt last no 10 to 12 hours on skin like many YouTube reviewers claim it does. As a matter of fact Im sure that my Encre Noire sticks to my skin EVEN LONGER than Sultan Vetiver does. Now does it project? Oh YES! 2 maybe 3 Spritzes and your golden for a good 6 hours and any more than 3 spritzes may be a bit much bc of the type of Bitter/Vetiver scent it is, but its just NOT all that long-Lasting on skin. Now on clothes its a different story, itll last all day, yet ecen the following day its pretty much gone from my shirts. Just an observation. And btw, if it were Encre Noire id still smell it clearly on my clothes the following day. Just wanted to touch on performance or lack thereof.. CHEERS!

Анонім★★★★★

Infatuation definitely wore off on me. I had to scrub this off after barely two sprays. Its just a very overspiced bombastic everchanging vetiver beast. You need to be bold to pull this off. The versatility on this is also very limited. I think this is a good occasional cold weather fragrance if you are not the type of person who lacks the swagger to pull this off.

Анонім★★★★★

Leathery, nutty, smokey, fresh--Sultan Vetiver is my reference scent for vetiver in all its green grassy glory. Not particularly wearable, IMO; SV seems better suited to a coveted spot in the history of perfumery. A work of art.

Nishane Sultan Vetiver smells like somebody dumped a keg of stale beer, chain-smoked unfiltered cigarettes, pissed behind a tractor supply store in July, then tried to cover it all up with expensive French soap and fresh cut grass.

Анонім★★★★★

First of all @Tayyabshahbaz, fragrances have nothing to with religion! This is a great concoction of fresh bergamot, mild spices and of course the star of the show Vetiver. Fresh citrus and earthy green opening, and transitions into a pillow like soft rain forest feel. Just the right amount of heft. Extremely classy. Perfect for all seasons and formal settings

Анонім★★★★★

I am extremely infatuated with this fragrance atm. A very dynamic love letter to vetiver. If you enjoy vetiver and struggle to find one that gives it dignity and respect, please give this a try. I almost felt this was slightly redundant as I own Encre Noire until it dried down. EN has a bit more of a slightly tart, mossy, no-nonsense contemplative feel going for it compared to this. This is smoother, slightly sweet, spiced and almost delectable in a sense. I'd say it's more versatile as well. I will have to wear this out more before concluding my thoughts but I could not stop sniffing this on me.

Анонім★★★★★

If anyone is selling a bottle of this message me. Might be the best vetiver ever made, beating out Dior, Guerlain, Lunar, Gisada, Hermes, even Chanel. Hard to find this one at a discount. Vetiver is a very good note when done right. Roja has one of the best Vetiver's ever made, "Parfum Pour Homme" is next level GOOD. Will give an update once I get my nose on more of them. Roja's version is absolutely amazing.

Yum. I can't stop smelling this. It may not be great for the office, but I'm in love.

Анонім★★★★★

Holly crap what a beautiful vetiver this is one of the best if not the best vetivers I have ever smelled this stuff is gorgeous.I also think it is stronger than Sauvage elixir the hyper beast king. it would give Sauvage a run for it's money for sure.

Анонім★★★★★

I usually don't go for very likable, easy to wear fragrances. I usually like a twist on almost every genre. Usually, but Sultan Vetiver has broken through. It is so multi faceted that is impossible not to love it. Sometimes it gives you cologne vibes with that bergamote and neroli, sometimes it's green, sometimes it's really earthy, sometimes it's a little big honeyed, sometimes it gives you small leather whiffs and sometimes it's pure on vetiver assault. At some point they all come together absolutely beautifully and it's insatiable. I think it's an elegant vetiver fragrance, like TdH is but more grown up.This is a smart casual attire fragrance to my nose. I do consider it's a pretty safe blind buy but not if you dislike vetiver. Performance is great on all levels. Recommended for spring days and summer nights. Get it and enjoy !

Absolutely amazing. Welcoming enough to wear in the summer, strong enough to blossom in the winter--great stuff!

So beautiful summery from comment below @tayyabshahbaz. Sultan Vetiver after all those years is still most decadent luxurious vetiver masterpiece by Jorge Lee, altho he created many masterpieces for Nishane. Its rustic and modern complexity with intense scent profile is still leader in its own category. Essential Parfums Mon Vetiver from excellent Bruno Jobanović is another beautiful vetiver, more airy, aldehydic, transparent but still complex. For vetiver connoisseurs.

Starting in the name of Allah, to whom all praise belongs. Some fragrances impress, some stay memorable but very few define your entire journey. For me, this is that scent. “This is, by far, the best scent I have ever smelled.” Considering the thousands of fragrances across the globe that I have tried, sampled, or owned over the years, this stands as a clear and undisputed winner for me. If I were ever forced to own just one fragrance, an impossible scenario, but still, this would be it. If only one perfume could survive the harshest regulations and restrictions, this would be it. If there is one fragrance I wish to never see discontinued or reformulated, this would be it. And perhaps the only scent for which I would break my personal rule of “not owning more than I need,” I could easily justify having a hundred backup bottles of this. This is also the one fragrance I would use to explain to a newcomer the true epitome of perfumery. There are many reasons behind this admiration let me share a few: Scent Profile: A truly complex composition that unfolds layer by layer, revealing natural-smelling accords in a seamless progression. There is a remarkable transformation a full 360° shift from the top to the heart, and from the heart to the base. Each facet of vetiver, from different origins, feels present and distinguishable. The composition is beautifully balanced with subtle florals and leathery nuances, which tame the inherent sharpness of vetiver. The experience evolves through the day: The first half carries a clean, refined vetiver profile, reminiscent of classic interpretations like Guerlain Vetiver. The latter half unveils the darker, earthier, more “dirty” side of vetiver in its full character. Uniqueness: Rarely does one encounter a fragrance that seamlessly integrates sweetness, spice, dryness, and depth, allowing each facet to shine independently without overshadowing the other. Every phase feels intentional and complete. Versatility: To call something the “most complete scent” demands versatility and this delivers. It fits effortlessly into formal settings, social gatherings, personal wear, or statement moments. It adapts without losing its identity. Performance: A full-day performer even in Karachi’s demanding weather. Strong presence for the first 5–6 hours, followed by a graceful dry-down with excellent longevity and noticeable projection.
