Aquawoman

I love this, it has a great salty-warm base, and the right amount of fruity-floral. Can't wait to wear it more this summer.

I was lucky to get my hands on its original version. It leans a bit masculine for my taste, but I can still see myself reaching for it often on hot summer days. This is a truly intriguing fragrance. The marine notes are spot-on—I sprayed it on my arm to test, and as I lay down, it occasionally radiated a salty, fun marine scent. It smelled so good that I kept trying to catch that salty marine effect again and again. Thanks to the bergamot, it has a pleasant, acidic citrusy touch, though it’s so light that you can barely detect it. Meanwhile, the mango and hibiscus add a subtle sweetness to the salty marine notes, creating a truly unique combination. One moment, it’s the scent of the salty sea; the next, it’s like you’re sipping a cocktail on the beach. I don’t understand why this isn’t being sold anymore because, in my opinion, it’s an amazing perfume. It’s perfect for those who are tired of mainstream fragrances. Also, a word of advice—it’s best when applied in moderation. If you overspray, it starts smelling like you’ve fallen into a barrel of aftershave lotion.

for me this is a unique scent. the only fresh scent that my mother liked. She likes heavy, viscous, floral and floral chypre scents. sometimes sweet sometimes not. musk. amber. oud. jasmine in a concentration that causes an atomic explosion and global extinction of species. She hates the light scent of a flower meadow, hates the scent of sea freshness.. but this scent is an exception. recognition from someone who basically hates such scents is the best possible praise.

I miss this so much, it hurts. It was my absolute all time favourite.

Simin Shaikh mentioned on youtube that Mithqal Ard Al Zaafaran smells very similar, and that the notes breakdown of Mithqal on Fr are wrong, they are: Top Notes: Bergamot, Roses, Sea Notes Middle Notes: Roses, Lilies, Hibiscus Bottom Notes: Amber, Mango, Musk Which makes it more similar to Aquawoman, bc when I looked there, I was like Whaaat? Anyway, as this got so pricy I thought someone might want to try Mithqal (not a dupe but similar).

Gorgeous citrusy marine scent I can imagine it to be worn by men! Take it to some vacation, you won't regret:)

If you want something 90% similar, look for Bergamotto Marino Ferre 2006. It s extremely close to aquawoman 💙

I was lucky to get several decants of this perfume. It smells divine! The most feminine aquatic perfume which doesn't smell like bathroom freshener. I've tried many aquatic fragrances, but nothing smells even close to Aquawoman. 300 EUR for the bottle is not worth it, but if you see someone selling decants, it's worth trying!

Loved the top and heart notes, it's divine, and I usually like those notes, however, the dry down is definitely patchouli which is not listed. I don't care for patch unless it's very well blended and not discernible. So this is a pass, though the top notes are lovely and surprising. If you like Coco Mademoiselle but want some fresher more aquatic top notes, here you go. but the base note is big on patchouli like CM. I'm surprised it's discontinued, it's way better than others out there in this category such as Eau de Marveilles Blue but for some odd reason they always discontinue the good ones. Although for me the patch makes it a pass.

I gifted my Mom a 6oML bottle "lovely shell" on mother's day a long time ago.. she found it EXTRA fresh, bright and leaning more to be unisex .. 🤷🏻 and that's exactly y I found no harm to wear it!.. yeah...I took it!..can be unisex 100%..we all love fresh fragrances💙

Nothing beats this one for me and on me. Very attractive, exotic and sensual, bright and warm but with a cool salty humid oceanic breeze (not beachy, and not Mediterranean oceanic, more tropical beach on a 50% humidity day) to cool down your hot summer and early autumn nights. This smells best in dry climates - becomes too heavy for humid places as it already smells humid. Also great for day. In fact Aquawoman starts off bright and fresh and slightly feminine in a ‘I’m not looking for love, I’m just feel sexy’ way, and warms throughout the day into a still very fresh but yummy sensual marine base towards the end of the day (the mango musk is key). Perfect for day to night wear. I fell off my chair when they discontinued and have about 5 sprays left kept in the refrigerator lol. Almost spent $400 buying a second hand bottle (don’t). This was my signature scent and my all time favourite next to Polo Sport for women. But WAIT. After years of research and searching, Hermes Eau De Merveilles Bleue is so so close! Just body shop mango moisturise yourself, 3 spritz of HEDMB and you are pretty much Aquawoman again (sans the rose notes :( ….) works for my skin type and I hope it does for yours! This was sooo lovely I could sign a petition to get it back, I really don't know why they discontinued it at the first place. My all-time favorite. Very aquatic, minty, soft, not sharp at all, epitome of freshness in the most sophisticated way ever

For my aquatic and ozonic lovers out there: pure marine is not like aquatic at all. You probably have smelled this in the 90s-early 2000s. This is sharp. The only analogy I can think of is sal ammoniac. But not unpleasant and made into a perfume. When it settles, it becomes more feminine, but this woman is no pretty little flower. This is powerful and a bit mature, like 40 and up.

It's like walking on the dunes -- not the beach! -- and smelling the wild flowers as well as the sun and salt and sand. I love the fragrance, but it barely lasts an hour on me and it's barely there to begin with. If it were stronger I would wear it all the time. As it is, it's not even worth it, especially with a mask on. If it weren't so pricy I would bring the bottle with me and reapply throughout the day.

I have found something similar. It doesn't last as long as Aquawoman used to on my skin but the smell is almost the same. MAC TURQUATIC unisex

Skin scent cool dry, unisex salty bergamot rose excellent for a 30+ degrees humid day. Try before you buy! The vegetable like mango imitation is goregeous. No regrets...

All scent from Rochas are masterpieces, this one isn't exception. I don't like female aquatic scents generally, but this one I love so much, that I wear it myself. Aquatic with great performances, scent that asociate you on ocean wind with some flowers in background, really special. It's not for everyday use imo, it deserves to wait for some moments that it can fulfill.

This is a very unusual perfume, quite unisex, almost masculine. The Salt note in combination with the Bergamot makes it quite dry. The Rose is restrained through the opening, but blossoms in the heart. Although it is not a listed note, I get a good whiff of Lavender, although this could be attributable to a tart, unsweetened Hibiscus. I find not Lily of the Valley whatsoever. This perfume could also be in an "Aquatic Fougere" men's category. Good strength, but weak sillage. While I do like this scent, I think much more affordable options are currently widely available all over the men's market.

...so, I put this away for two years...now, it's June 2016, and suddenly I am compelled to write another review (I wasn't too taken with this perfume in 2014, I see...) Don't know what's changed about my chemistry, but now I am enchanted with Aquawoman! I am surrounded by a cloud of summertime oceanic breeze - ! Longlasting, sparkling and fresh! And I have 3/4 bottle left to enjoy this long, hot summer!

Dear Rochas, please bring it back! After all these years, I am still thinking of it. It is, by far, the best fragrance, ever, for me. Please reconsider!

I used to love this fragrance and searched for something similar for years. Aqva Divina by Bvlgari is pretty close, imo. It has the same aquatic and sharp, a bit masculine and strong character.

All the recent posts complaining about this scent and its longevity - please bare in mind that this perfume is discontinued since arround 2008. So the bottles you buy online are very old and the scent has changed it's notes. I know because I own a bottle of this perfume that changed overtime. I remember the scent when it was on the market and freshly made - everyone on the street kept asking me about it....It was amazing, such a shame for Rochas do discontinue a perfume like this :(

yessss...just got my 100ml bottle of this...I am so happy...found it hidden away in a equally well hidden owner's fragrance boutique in my home town. I actually knew it was there a long time ago...I just never actually brought myself to pay 75 euros for it. well now I did and its a good investment :))lovely...a bit masculine, peppery but also a good flower aquatic an actually soft enough. its addictive an has good silage and lasting power. the bottle....gooorgeous like a shell with a nice metallic detail around the cap. the cap itself...heavier than the bottle :)))) could be a weapon, must have like 200 grams, kidding. beautiful scent altogether. perfect for summer and sporty people. Casual frag for everyday delight. so happy to own it :) so enthusiastic ...ok I will stop now...thanks...bye :)))

...Continued from my Post last week. So, I've been liberally spritzing this on for over a week, and yes I've spent waaaay too much for this. Unless I've been sorely duped by the seller and I've bought a dud, this Aquawoman is completely a joke. The only thing I can smell is faint salt water, and even that fades within the hour. For almost $200.00 I am sick, knowing what a great fragrance I could have had for that. Very disappointed. This is the last of my Blind Buys, at least as recommended on this website. :( Update: March 2019. Spring is here in south Florida, and I've just been going through my perfume/fragrance collection, needing something for this bright, fresh day. Today, I took this beauty from its box and applied liberally after my morning shower. OMG. How did I ever question this amazing aroma??? And now I see it's around $350 on Amazon and Ebay!!!

Ordered this on Amazon and it arrived today. So far, what I'm getting is fresh, watery, oceanic...projection around a 6. Time will tell regarding Aquawoman's longevity. Something is telling me I paid waaaaay too much for this blind buy (I'll blame it all the rave reviews on Fragrantica!!)...to be continued...

Am so sad I look for it every where and I couldn't find it ???????? I don't know why roshas discontinued it !!!!!!!!
