Zesty lemon that dries into a cozy, warm vanilla and butter. A highly "edible" yet surprisingly wearable gourmand. Not similar to Devotion by D&G at all.
smells like swedish fish/sour patch kids for first couple hours. unique and not unpleasant, but juvenile. in the dry down, it becomes a strange sweet slightly floral musk that i'm not a fan of.
It has a nice lemon/citrus smell that lasts for the whole wear, which is kind of unusual for citrus. I like it. It doesn't have a lot of depth, but it does have a bright, happy smell that works for days when you are in the mood for that... I don't think it smells like cleaner at all, which is what some have said who have reviewed it. I think it smells like an edible lemon tart. Appropriately named.
I bought this for my ex a couple years back, the fragrance is good, I just wish she didn't leave me
It's the weakest link amongst the samples that i've tried so far. The lemon is sweet but very weak and subdued by buttery whipped cream. I can't even make out the vanilla in this, just the creaminess and the makeshift lemon. Sillage is similar to Cinnamon Rolls, projection is nonexistent after just one minute. Pleasant scent, but not worth buying a perfume that has the lasting effect of a body spray.
Just received a 1ml decant of this. The opening is BBW Lemon Pound Cake, which fades pretty quickly to a slightly less sugary Akro Bake. Interestingly I don't get a butter note in my decant. The scent was gone completely on my skin after an hour. Have not tested on clothes yet. Edit: Tested it on clothes. It smells very different on fabric--I get more of a lemon cleaner vibe with this wear and less Lemon Pound Cake or Akro Bake. I will continue to test this, but so far it's not much of a standout in comparison to other lemon gourmands.
Lemony, buttery goodness. This is a lot more butter, pie crust, and cream than other lemon tart scents that I own, but it still stays light and airy. Like a super sweet lemon meringue pie with a flaky crust.
I was so worried that this was gonna smell like armpit but it smells like a dessert shop that also sells soap (I guess that's where the disinfectant and medicinal comments come from).
Better than other lemon gourmand smells. I like it. It contains a lemon zest mixed with dessert sweetness. The lemon leans closer to the bitter peeling side. So maybe that is why people don’t like it. My absolute favorite lemony gourmand is Gorse and Dulcis in fondus. So for the price this is decent. This was my second favorite from this line, and my first was the pistachio.
I'm ready for negative reviews, but to me, Lemon Tart by Theodoros Kalotinis smells like stale old lemon waffles drenched on top with a generous amount of lemon dishwashing liquid.
i love it very realistic lemon cake smell , very comforting smell, great for office and casual outings , unfortunately it doesn't last on me more than an hour , i layer it with goddess or angham and its stunning .....
Smells like a vanilla cake with a lemon and some lemon zest on top of it. Absolutely lovely, photoreaistic gourmand. But sadly like all of the Theodoros Kalotinis, it doesn t last more than 5-6 hours. Rating: 8/10
As I`m Greek myself I have both access to new releases and eshop easily. The notes seemed perfect to me so I went to a local store carrying his perfumes. Sadly, reality of this was a bit dif. The first spray is way too wet wipe- cleanser lemony. I`d love it if it was more candied or sugary. A few minutes after it does become more tarte-ish , but still heavy lemon wet wipe. Also performance of his 45Euro perfumes isn`t that great. I`m a person who EXCLUSIVELY wears gourmands mostly vanilla based and I want them to be as sticky sweet as it gets with beastly performance.I barely get to come across a decent priced lemon cakey perfume and options here are very limited sadly. So I was mostly disappointed with it, although I`m going to give it another try...
I got this in a bundle with Pear Gelato, and hoped it might be similar to D&G Devotion, but I only get synthetic cleaning product citrus >
this is definitely a feminine fragrance but i don't think that's why i hate it, my mom and i have common taste in fragrances and she absoulutely disslikes this as well. Here's the thing with this, it's TOO much like a cake (cakey), and i mean TOO much. It's exactly same as a lemon cheesecake but that's the problem, it's too realisticly cakey to be wearable and bearable. Not only that, when it dries down it has an extremly weird smell. I have no idea what it is but it's like a dusty, old lemon zest smell which is horrible. Ig i don't really like these citrusy gourmands. 2.5/10
It s gourmand, sweet and citrusy fragrance. It doesnt smell like Lemon Tart in my opinion but it still is a very nice gourmand fragrance. I rate it a 8.2/10
i remember i was really looking forward to smell this in vienna, but as soon as i smelled it.. its straight up lemon cleaning solution!! at first, i let the beautiful opening of lemon drizzle cake fool me. but no more than 30 seconds later there was a really unpleasant chemical lemon note :(
I really thought I was going to love this. I love citrus scents and I never understood when people said a citrus perfume smelled like a cleaning product, until now. This is the most synthetic and plasticky smelling lemon I have ever smelled. It smells to me like somebody took a stale biscuit and sprayed it with a cleaning product. It turns my stomach. I don't think I have ever disliked a lemon note this strongly.
For me, this is my second favorite summer scent, it develops wonderfully on my skin
My favorite lemon centered fragrance I have experienced so far. Starts out as a sugary lemon drop and dries down to a lemon sugar cookie. My nose does not pick up on a sharp, pledge cleaner type lemon that others detect, but I get a well rounded sugary creamy gourmand lemon. Absolutely lovely. Nothing synthetic or off-putting. The butter and whipped cream probably helps tone down the sharpness of the citrus. I only wish for better sillage and scent bubble, so for that I give it a 9/10. If it performed better I would give it a 10/10.
Ngl I expected more from this and I may have blindbought it. So the opening is crazy good. Lemon custard with realistic pie crust, and some white soapy florals in the back (hard to recognize and very little.). An hour/half an hour later, the pie crust tart goodness fades away. Still has the lemon though but not as strong as the opening. It is kinda a skin scent thats on the stronger side but still projects well. Its kinda like saopy lemon flower. 55€ is a crazy good price for this though..
Gà khô lá chanh. Chicken jerky with makrut lime leaves. That's it. No sweet lemon pastry to be found.
Very true to name. Sadly the more creamy and sugary notes don't show up at all on my skin, though I get them when I sniff the actual sprayer. I swear I can smell an actual sort of pastry or biscuit note to this, too. Overall very pleasant, the lemon zest fades and leaves a sort of buttery vanilla base note which is entirely inoffensive.
This is good! Reminds me of Bake/Devotion only in drydown after several hours of wear. (Doesn't remind me of them at the beginning) I think ANY citrus can smell like cleaning products to some people. But, I like this!
I've tried lira, bake, siesta drive, unknown pleasures, devotion and a few others in this style of fragrance and this was the first time testing lemon tart. This definitely has a medicinal smell to it, don't believe the below reviews of people saying it doesn't smell like cleaning product or medicine because it definitely does. While there is some creaminess detectable in this, the lemon is not very lemony it's more medicinal than anything. I wouldn't say this is a lemon tart smell the vanilla is not gourmand enough, the lemon is not gourmand enough and the cream isn't gourmand enough... this is basically medicine with sugar added to it like those lemon cough drops that taste disgusting and poisonous yeah those. If you want an honest ranking here's how I rank them 1. Siesta drive 2. Lira 3. Bake 4. Devotion 5. Unknown pleasures 6. Lemon tart However I can understand if you want to put lemon tart above unknown pleasures, it's not better than devotion, bake, lira or siesta drive. Bath & body works also make a pretty good body mist called lemon pound cake if you can find that just get that one
Fresh and sweet, lemon merengue in a bottle. This is my second purchase from Theodoros and I find the names to line up well with the scents. I would blind buy with great expectations from this company.
The lemon in this is beautiful. It stays far away from a cleaning solution, instead showing up as a fresh and bright simple lemon juice. I can smell the meringue or whipped cream, but I am so missing the flaky pastry. This desperately needs butter and salt to ground it a bit and round it out to a true gourmand.
I was looking for something better than Bake by Akro, which I really like by itself, but since I'm no perfume connesoir I thought that it was because I haven't tried a lot of gourmands. This is nice, it certainly has more of this "tartine" opening which for me is slightly suffocating, but later fades a bit. However, longevity for me turned out to be quite dissapointing and I think I'll stick with Bake for now.
lemon pastry but like expired
I'm a Gen X, and loved the Lemon Meringue doll as a kid. I also love Starbucks Lemon Pound cake. But like Goldilocks, nothing I've tried is quite right. I'm not a fragrance newbie, so I purchased a decant to try. Unfortunately, the lemon was very "in your face" and not in a good way. I immediately shelved my decant. Fast forward a year later, and I tried it again. I was pleasantly surprised - the lemon has calmed down nicely - I'm not getting synthetic or cleaning product, just a photorealistic lemon with a touch of sweetness. Will I be getting a full bottle? No - I'd like a bit more of the "cake/tart" - there is some in the dry down, but not enough. I don't get a buttery note like others mentioned (thankfully). The longevity and silage are not great either - this disappears pretty quickly. How does this compare to Lira/Devotion? Lira has way less lemon and more cake, but that said, Lira doesn't do it for me either (I was expecting way more for the hype). Devotion has just as much lemon as Lemon Tart, but I think Lemon Tart is nicer (Devotion's lemon leans too much into the cleaning product category). Buy Lira if you want a pretty box and an empty wallet. Buy Devotion if you want a pretty bottle and don't mind cleaning product lemon Buy Lemon Tart if you don't mind letting it sit for a bit, and having to reapply
