Jasmin Rouge

I am male, and I like this straight up jasmine. It is a good clean jasmine, and not heavily indolic on me. And I am happy that it wears 8+ hours on my skin. It is difficult to find a jasmine fragrance done right, so I give this a 9 out of 10 stars, very natural and jasmine lovers should like this one.

I'll never get over the fact that this was discontinuned. One of my all-time favourite scents - just a gorgeous, complex, sexy jasmine. Treasuring my last few mls.

Very smooth natural smelling jasmine, lasts a good time on skin. The animalic indolic characteristics of Jasmine are toned down. Still, Not worth Tom Ford pricing

Simple yet beautiful. Sexy, sensual jasmine perfume. Perfect layering with Santal Blush. Recent love. Nothing like 'Do Son'. Moderate Sillage, 3-4 hours projection. lasts around 6 hours.

Red high heels as a perfume

I love this one in general except on my skin the Jasmin turns indolic and has this woman’s sweat (not in the good way) undertone to it. After a while it turns creamier and so addicting but the sweat undertones bother me too much.

I find it very similar to Do Son EDP, a bit lighter (and more expensive).

What I imagine South east asian goth would wear.

In Nusantara, there’s an old superstition that if you catch a faint whiff of jasmine at night, a kuntilanak (vengeful female spirit--usually in white dress) is nearby. This perfume, however, doesn’t believe in subtlety. The jasmine arrives loud and clear. Tempered only slightly by ylang and a swirl of spices. This is red kuntilanak (the highest rank of ghost) energy, already on the roof and screaming.

I love Jasmine but there was definitely something heavier in the background of this scent that I couldn't pinpoint until I read the notes. I saw the sage and I was like, yep! I don't dislike sage necessarily. But it has that sort of smokey, incense that can be a little grating if you get headaches. Pretty scent, but I don't think I would buy a full bottle.

My favourite Tom Ford fragrance, ever. So good.

When you've got "angelic" and "skanky whore" in back to back reviews, you know you've got a winner! Not as winnery as Lust, which inhabits its own cage for a reason, but much more moneyed, closer to the vest. Olene is the free range version, safer and outdoorsy. All of them are requirements, as far as I'm concerned.

this starts more indolic than i expected on me. it is woody for sure but also it has a fresh side. however i don’t think this lives up to the hype. still if you want a woody jasmine scent you should give it a shot.

I HATE that I love this so much… ugh!! I unfortunately can’t really describe it for a strange reason but let’s say it’s a soft woody jasmine with a sweetness that somehow resembles expensive chocolate. Guys. I will cry. I don’t remember the last time I wanted a fragrance this bad and it has to be fkg Tom Ford 😭🫠

I have tried to write this review for well over a year now because I want to do this one some justice. But every time I try, I end up struggling between “do I like it?” and “do I hate it?” The initial spray is really heavy on the jasmine in that indolic way. It has that heavy femme fatale quality to it but at the same time it is pretty light and sweet mannered. When it settles down onto the skin the ylang really takes over, and the spices try to compliment the heady white jasmine and ylang blend but it is way too overpowering. I can pick apart all the single notes in this one, but the only ones that really stands out when you casually smell it is the jasmine, ylang and neroli. And that gets pretty intense after a while. Somehow – to my nose, this gets a bit salty and savoury when it dries down on my skin, almost to a point where it is borderline nauseating. At the same time, I can’t stop smelling it, that is how sensual and intoxicating this is. And here we are, after a year of debating and trying this one in different weathers and seasons I have still not made any headway with it. I am indefinite, but since it hasn’t wowed me in any way I end up rating it as an okay scent. The longevity is good, and the sillage is better than good, and it performs in every weather and season. So, if you’re into jasmines and want a velvet-y tropical one this is worth checking out.

The jasmine is so intense that it’s hard to detect the other notes. Sometimes I catch hints of ylang ylang and amber but overall it smells mostly like jasmine. A fragrance that jasmine lovers will really enjoy.

This is one of the most beautiful jasmine perfumes I’ve smelled, and also one of the most “solar,” with a really satisfying sun-kissed, almost humid vibe to it. Jasmin Rouge is essentially a solar vanilla and citrus+ginger+vanilla fusion. I love the smell of jasmine, but there are countless jasmine perfumes out there that just smell either piercingly sharp, cloying, or both. I’m really thankful that this isn’t neither of those things. I can feel the spices more than I smell them. Kind of like what hedione does in perfumery. You can almost never smell it in the fragrance, but you can feel its effect and what it does to the floral core of the perfume. After the spices start to fade, the jasmine, yellow, and red florals last for a while until it dries down into a beautiful musky and ambery base. This is obviously too feminine for me to wear as a man, but I’m planning on gifting this to my mom since jasmine is one of her favorite scents.

I usually reach for my "Jasmin Rouge" when I am in my "femme fatale" mood (which can be any day or night, really), but still ought to "behave" myself. It opens up on me with powerful ylang-ylang sprinkled with ginger and mandarin juice. I do not get any cinnamon or pepper, and cardamon must be "in disguise" somewhere, as it is imperceptible to me too. Jasmine here is neither sharp nor animalistic, and due ylang-ylang's strength, it gains into a tuberose-like smoothness at the start. It can feel rather confusing, but with time, jasmine regains it more classic/familiar self, with indolic notes coming through, supported by neroli. Labdanum and vanilla are narcotic-like in their duet, long before other perfumers started using the expression for their creations. Projection is very good, sillage is beautiful and lasting power is out of this world (those were the times when the price ws justified by how little of the perfume was needed to last a day without any "top ups" needed). I suppose the word "Rouge" was meant to convey the sensuality of the fragrance, rather than the colours that it invokes. Personally, I see the bouquet as golden-cream, with an occasional speck of carmine red & ochre popping through. "Jasmin Rouge" is the LBD of my fragrance wardrobe as it can be dressed up or down for any occasion and during any time of the year, by simply selecting an extra spray for intensity, or keeping it on the "classic" points only. It is also the scent that I associate with Tom Ford himself, especially his early work at YSL and Gucci, as his collections were always provocative, daring, but, at the same time, did not go overboard, were perfectly wearable for the right occasions and were the earliest transcenders between male and female clothes (in my memory). This is why even though "Jasmin Rouge" is considered to be a female fragrance, I can very well see it on a man in an evening jacked of velvet and silk satin, tuxedo trousers and no shirt, with sunshades on after 9 pm...oh, hang on - this is "La Dolce Vita" by Federico Fellini! - I just had my man lose the shirt and the tie (LOL). Yes, "Jasmin Rouge" is an early Tom Ford with silk and satin and velvet, deep cuts, sleek silhouettes, endearing arrogance of youth, sexuality and stylish living; its Hedonism in a garnet red bottle, sharp-edged and enticing, and AB-SO-LUTE-LY IRRESISTIBLE. a lot more Jasmine heavy than Lust, fresher, much more palatable, but boring in comparison. its too safe... but my friend jacq loves it. they think it smells like oolong

First impression: (on paper) It has the same vibe as Olene by dyptque on paper just a little more evening, more mature, and less spring like. Let’s see when I put this one skin. Edit 1: So it’s not the same as fracas. Fracas is BEASTLY Animalic vintage tuberose. This in comparison is kind of like a modern take on fracas. It’s way softer, and doesn’t have that tuberrose in it, but instead jasmine. Edit 2: Compared to my 4 other white florals this one ranks last. I agree with this because it’s a very meh white floral for me. It’s not fully captivating me. 3rd is Olene.

It starts off as a fizzy/sherbet orange to my nose, but with the jasmine mixed in. Then a few minutes later you get the ginger kick and smooth neroli and vanilla. Eventually it gets powdery. The notes work very well, however it is floral heavy so I would use it sparingly to keep the headaches away Jasmin Rouge smells like what a classy lady in the 1920s would wear. It's sophisticated and has a vintage vibe without smelling overly mature or dated Also I'm not sure if it's just me, but it reminds me of Dior Poison a little bit

This is such a skanky, stinky, skunky, slutty jasmine. Just jasmine. If you want to smell like a biblically accurate whore kneeling down behind the altar in front of the Russian orthodox priest than this is for you.

Autumnal, angelic, artistic. It evokes landscapes, like paintings. In memory, a scent that surprises you, especially in its evolution. Magnificent, intoxicating. Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

I have a 5ml decant of this perfume. I can't smell anything but a very rich, intoxicating jasmine. And I love it! The base is warm, ambery, so, imo, it would be more suitable for colder weather. This is one of my favorite Tom Ford perfumes, but I don't know if it's worth the money. It's just jasmine...

I ordered a decant of this from decantx a month ago, and felt in hard like with it. Sprayed it a few times more and feeling remained the same. I expected this to be rich and deeper for some reason. I own 4 TF frags and find the scent on all of them to last a decent amount of time and to project well, especially if sprayed generously. While I really like this perfume, I’m not sure if I got a weak decant or the formulation changed or what. To me it seemed closer to an edt, as the scent isn’t as strong as I think it would be. I still really like it and want it, I just don’t know if it’s worth seeking one that’s from an older batch; but I should also mention that I bought a decant of the TF (discontinued) gardenia as well, and expected that to be heady and rich, but it seemed watered down to me, or a bad bottle of it, as it disappeared in less than an hour. This one was still partially there longer, but only cause I sprayed it a bunch more the next few times, and did the same w the gardenia but both seemed very weak in contrast to the ones I own, or have tested in store or recieved free samples of in past. I’m ambivalent to purchase this, as there are so many other Jasmine perfumes out there I haven’t tried, but this one did leave an impression on me that’s hard to shake off, despite the poor performance, the vanilla makes the jasmine shine. If anyone else has a recent bottle or had an experience like mine, where it wasn’t strong, I’d be interested in knowing if it’s me, or the decant I got. I haven’t had a bad experience from decantx in the past, but was disappointed that both the TF perfumes I ordered projected on a level far below from any others I’ve tried by TF. So not sure if it’s a reformulation thing, or just the way it is?

I have owned and worn several jasmine centered fragrances in my lifetime. Someone suggested I try Jasmin Rouge in an attempt to expand my small repertoire. For context, I love Amouage Portrayal Woman. And I used to love Creed Jasmine Imperatrice Eugene. While this TF fragrance is the nicest jasmine perfume I sampled (from four different decants), I cannot see myself wearing this fragrance. Jasmin Rouge is a strong, green, slightly sour jasmine soliflore. The opening notes smoothe over the intense jasmine development. Nonetheless, I find this perfume to be very potent, quite strong, slightly sour and a bit off-putting. This fragrance is a no-go in my opinion.
