Such an interesting fragrance! Moderate sillage. It is powdery and seductive, but it's also prickly and intimidating at the same time. It has a moody, alt aesthetic, but it also gives baby powder lol. I like that this is feminine, dark, and grown without being sweet. I really like the ginger note, but the powdery/pepperiness can make me sneeze, so I spray this with a light hand, esp in the warmer seasons. I actually think this fragrance could work year-round if sprayed carefully. I was trying to see if there was a spicy fragrance that could work for the summer, and an Ulta employee steered me toward this. I ended up buying this at that visit bc it was so memorable - the ginger note is distinct and charismatic. It's not a safe blind buy, nor is it for everyone, but if you want to feel dark and sultry, and the usual suspects aren't cutting it for you, then try Versace Crystal Noir (I've yet to smell the EDP version, but I really dislike coconut, so the EDT is my immediate preference).

This is such a fresh and spicy, almost piney scent when it's first sprayed. Ginger heavy on the top notes! Light and fresh, but it softens down to a super soft and rich sandalwood. Sweetens as it dries down. It hits a really interesting intersection of fresh-spicy and soft-sweet-woody that I think would be good for any gender. It's not my style, but I really respect it, it's a piece of art.

Normally sweet-smelling perfumes sort of give me a headache, but this one is a bit special because the pink pepper and ginger add an interesting spiciness to an otherwise sensual and warm scent. The cardamom and sandalwood add a lot of depth to the warm and sweet impression from Crystal Noir. It definitely gives off a coconut-y and creamy scent. I love it, perfect to spray on during a hot summer evening, but also spicy enough for fall and winter. It's also great to spray on for a beach day or any amount of time spent baking in the sweltering heat under the sun. For an EDT, it has amazing longevity; this lasts 8 hours at the very least. This is one of my earliest perfumes :) I got an EDP tester in 2016 and managed to scrounge together enough money to buy my first bottle in 2017. I get a lot of compliments on it.

gardenia/coconut/sandalwood are my top 3 all timer notes so it’s incredible to find them in a cold weather fragrance (the coconut in the edp). a lot of people seem to prefer the dry down on this as it’s a soft sweet skin scent, but personally the punch in the face initial gardenia/ginger is what I love most about this. have to buy for winter i fear.

Wear this in extreme heat 80+ - this melts into your skin and becomes warm, creamy, sultry and addicting.

I love pepper...but this is just no. It smells like molten PVC to me. Where is the coconuuuuut? I'd rarely say this, but cannot even see this attractive on a man, which is coming from someone who likes gender-bending, complex and 'mature' fragrances. ('mature' as defined by people whose frontal lobe is still under development).

Performs exceptional+12h, bought it two times from two different countries, same scent, nothing different. It is soothing, calming, feminine, unisex even, clean and coconuty.

I really thought this would be my next signature scent. Looking at the notes—black fig, blackcurrant, violet, tuberose, frangipani, jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla, and cashmeran—it sounded like everything I usually love. I tend to gravitate toward warm vanillas, ambery scents, creamy florals, and soft jasmine. Some of my favorites include Valentino Born in Roma Intense, Burberry Goddess, Zara Hypnotic Vanilla, VS Midnight Bloom, and BBW Dark Kiss, so Crystal Noir seemed like a safe blind buy. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. Instead of the creamy, feminine scent I was expecting, I get something much darker, more mature, and more perfumey. As someone in my late 20s, this feels like it would suit women in their 40s and above much better. It gives off elegant, sophisticated energy, but not the kind that feels youthful or playful. Living in Southeast Asia, I also find it a bit heavy in our hot and humid weather. My boyfriend usually loves the fragrances I wear, but this was the first one he wasn't a fan of—he said I smelled like a grandma. My mom had the opposite impression and said it smelled like a man's perfume. That pretty much sums up my experience: I couldn't quite figure out where it fit. I don't hate it, and I can appreciate its uniqueness, but it's not a love for me. Sometimes a fragrance can have all the right notes on paper and still not be the right fragrance for you. Persona rating: 6.5/10

the opening is quite masculine, the dry down smells like coconut even though its not listed. I think this would suit older women better, or a night out in colder weather, i dont like the spicy-ness

The fragrance notes printed on my sample card of Versace Crystal Noir EDT mistakenly list the notes of the EDP version of Crystal Noir. The fragrance notes on Fragrantica match Versace's website. Crystal Noir EDT opens with a cool burst of cardamom, ginger, and pepper that reads more peppermint gum to me, than sensual spice. The white florals rise, they are bright and airy, blending with what I perceive to be a light coconut note that turns unexpectedly soapy. As it dries down, clean musk and soft woods take over, keeping everything fresh, minty, and slightly creamy - a vibe many people (including me) read as being toothpaste‑adjacent. Clean and refreshing for the right wearer, but far too minty‑soapy‑floral for anyone who tends to gravitate toward warm, resinous, molten scents. Do I smell elegant? No, I smell like a fresh mint toothpaste mixed with floral Gardenia handwash from a hotel bathroom.

Reviewing again because it definitely improved a month after opening! It’s improved so much I’ve changed from ‘ok’ to ‘like’ and the longevity has made this my new signature. Anyway my original review is on the EDP page. I have both the EDT and a sample of the EDP, I mainly talked about the smell of the EDT in that review but I did talk a bit about how they compare to each other. Just to make it clear I am talking about the EDT here (duh this is the edt page lol) So this still has a tiny bit of the dusty spice smell when I first spray it but definitely not as much as it did when it was freshly opened. It smells nice and almost creamy, thick, floral pretty fast when sprayed on skin. The spiciness stays for a lot longer when sprayed on clothing so I avoid that. I made the mistake of wearing too many sprays on a slightly warm autumn’s day, and it got cloying within a few hours. I’ve never experienced a ‘cloying’ fragrance before… I don’t know how to explain it because I didn’t feel sick or anything I just felt a little bit suffocated and hyper aware about anyone near me being able to smell it too strongly. I really felt out of place wearing it during the day (especially on a warmish one), I think this is best as a cold weather fragrance and probably more of a night time smell, although if I had sprayed less it would of probably saved it. The longevity and projection though is crazy for an EDT it’s the best fragrance I own in those regards way better than all my EDPs (and I own CH Good Girl which most people say lasts ages! However my body chemistry must be weird because it definitely doesn't last long on me).

Im not understanding the hype on this one. Its a no for me!

Анонім★★★★★

While I like the notes in this fragrance they end up leaving me wanting more from them. I enjoy the spiciness of the cardamom mixed with florals and the warm musky base but it leans too light and soapy for my taste. As this is an EDT I still look forward to sampling the other offerings from this collection as I think they may provide the depth I was hoping for. Longevity is great especially on clothing. Sillage is moderate with a slight lean towards staying closer to the skin. If you want to dip your toes into something spicy that maintains a light airy freshness at the same time I think this is a good choice but for me I want something that packs more of a punch.

There’s something about crystal noir that just keeps me coming back! It’s so spicy yet creamy, so dark yet clean. It’s my favourite to wear in a cosy wine bar or to a nice dinner, it’s mysterious, elegant and sexy. Makes me feel like a vampire who’s just stepped out of the shower

Анонім★★★★★

I don't like this on myself, unfortunately. I don't mind smelling it on other people but on me it smells like spicy toothpaste for some reason.

Анонім★★★★★

Quite frankly, I CANNOT believe that people like this fragrance, let alone recommend it to others as 'sexy' or in any way enjoyable. I would lather myself in this if I wanted to get rid of someone as fast as humanly possible. Upon first spray, you are hit with a horrible stink of hotness. It genuinely smells like vomit or a pile of rubbish that has been sitting in the sun on a hot day. It absolutely reeks and the warmth and spice absolutely does not help. Then it dries down to a repulsive powdery scent. It smells quite soapy, but not like a nice one. It smells like used baby diapers in a bin, like you're trying to cover up the stink with something that it supposed to smell nice but even that in itself doesn't I have no idea how people like this. It's absolutely disgusting. Even one spray on someone will make me feel physically sick for the rest of the day. I could not be around someone wearing this. I am convinced that anyone who says it smells nice only has that reaction because they have told themselves that it is supposed to smell good. I will not let myself be gaslighted.

Crystal noir edt is so magical. It is a very calming fragrance that literally helps me relax and sleep. It also has a Coca-Cola type scent to it to me. It is also very gothic, sexy and perfect for date night. It is a compliment getter and lasts and project very well.

Here are the ACTUAL notes of this fragrance, From a current sample card direct from Versace Top: Blackcurrant Black Fig Violet Heart: Tuberose Frangipani Jasmine Dry Down: Sandalwood Cashmeran Vanilla Pod Heliotropin I remember these notes used to be listed on this page, But Fragrantica loves posting the wrong ingredients now. Hope this is helpful for any looking to sample or purchase! I have a full bottle that’s a 2020 batch, And I do think it’s nicer than the newer versions that removed the Lilial. The difference is most apparent in the opening, But overall, New one just doesn’t have as much depth, Still good but not as pretty. This is a perfume I have to be in the mood for, And when that mood hits, There’s nothing else like it! I’ve still never smelled anything quite like Crystal Noir. I love the sort of “humid” feel of this, I think that’s what reminds of being fresh out of the shower. I do pick up Coconut here, Probably from the combo of Fig and Sandalwood. Beautiful and unique!

I smelled this and I because obsessed I had to order a bottle which was hard because the notes didn’t match these notes. I love the spicy opening specially the cardamom it smells like tea and that soapy creamy detergent coconuty smell with the white flowers and sandalwood this is divine.

Versace Crystal Noir EDT is one of those fragrances that quietly commands attention. It opens with a soft, spicy warmth, that gently unfolds into a creamy, velvety, floral. Gardenia is the star note here... rich, smooth, and slightly exotic. There's something that evokes the same feeling I get when I smell money, or an old book.. Not in a dusty way, more like crisp new bills, quiet luxury, and something a little mysterious unfolding within her depths that I can't quite place.. Honestly, I imagine this is what a rich vampire would smell like. Earthy, yet clean, with a smart sophisticated edge. The type of smell that sends just enough of a chill down your spine. She's not loud or overpowering, she sits close to the skin and pulls people in. Effortless, refined, and just a little dangerous in the best way. Hypnotic and entrancing. I feel like a bad bitch when I wear her.. ready to snatch your heart and soul.

Surprised to realize that I hadn't reviewed this one before now. It's official....I apparently really enjoy cardamom. This one seems to get mixed reviews....I too was on the fence when I first encountered it, but I like it a lot now. Lasts all day long, crowd pleaser, easy grab...always appropriate. For reference, I have an older bottle.

Анонім★★★★★

The cardamom and ginger are very overpowering in the first 30 or so minutes after applying. The pepper adds spiciness that together with the other notes makes the fragrance almost too spicy, too masculine to be a fragrance labelled for women. I get something bitter, a bit soapy but unlike the accords say and some reviewers, I don't read this as fresh. I don't think this perfume needs more sweetness necessarily, as this has been done for the parfum if I'm correct, but I would love more florals in here.

I received a brand new 2018 bottle today. compared it to the current EDT, and ... sheesh. I was a bit skeptical that the difference would be noticeable, but holy cow. the OG formula is creamy... think big, fat, juicy, fragrant white gardenias floating in a bowl of chilled coconut milk. in comparison, the current EDT is like an eau fraiche flanker. its lightly floral, more peppery than creamy. thats not to say its bad; it's still quite good. its just... different. haven't tried the current EDP version yet - it may be more similar to the OG EDT?

I purchased my pre-loved bottle fall 2020 so I’m not sure which formulation i have. But I agree this is fresh spicy soapy clean vibes with great longevity. 10 sprays on my shirt/upper body this morning and at the end of the work day I can still smell this fragrance. powerhouse. That says a lot since I have a large collection and most of them I need to put my nose to my shirt to smell in the dry down. This is a keeper. theres a breeze and i cant get enough of this scent in the air coming from my shirt. never went nose blind. amazing performance. it makes me feel like i just got dressed. fresh and uplifting yet cozy addictive and alluring.

The most incredible lasting power for an EDT. P > EDT > EDP, in my opinion. Personally, I like it better after the top notes wear off a bit. The Parfum version is the sweetest, so that’s what I was looking for in the EDT as well; yet it is definitely less sweet, and I find the spiciness a tad too much for my taste. Pepper, cardamom, and ginger are all clearly distinguishable. When they eventually fade away a bit, a creamy sandalwood begins to dominate, and that’s when I enjoy it the most. Unfortunately, it does have the same rubber accord people keep mentioning- I can definitely sense it as well. Another thing worth mentioning is that I believe it slightly resembles shaving foam, so I actually find this fragrance to be unisex. Overall, even with all these negative aspects, I still seem to enjoy it. Note: Rating the post-reformulation batch.

I only smell pepper :(

Have mini version and seriously don't understand why it's been recommended so much. Not pleasant fragrance for summer or spring. Lasting is good and dry down to lighter version fresh feel on skin but through the day I keep sniffing some unpleasant note.

Just received a sample. Honestly, it doesn't hold a candle to the vintage. It's does not have the same depth sadly. Still a beautiful scent, but I'm truly glad I have an OG from the 90's. If you can find a vintage -- grab it. Just beautiful! :)

“Whatever you are wearing reminds me of all the best, fresh things right after it rains.” - My boss Great fragrance. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like it and the men in my life absolutely love it.
