This one is much better than Eros Pour Femme. Versace, please, bring it back.

This perfume is absolutely beautiful!

Such an elegant fragrance. One of my favourites from Versace. You can easily pull it off all year round. May not be suitable for teens I think you have to have a level of maturity to like it and feel comfortable wearing it.

I hate leaving nevative reviews, and honestly it might be my skin chemistry, but this perfume smells straight up evil. I can't quite pinpoint what the problem might be, because it smells summery and floral from the bottle, but it turns sour and screechy on the skin, almost like a unsweetened vitamin C supplement. I did, however, get a couple of compliments from men in particular when wearing it out (i'm a lesbian so it only solidified my distaste for the scent, but it might be good to know if you're into those)

I think it's absolutely beautiful! I've just received a sample, for nostalgia's sake, though I'd only ever owned a single sample more than a decade ago and at first, was not mad about it but after trialing, fell in love with it. I'd planned to buy a full bottle, but it in the meantime it had been discontinued. Sophisticated in its pared back simplicity, the lime, freesia and tiare flower combo give this a very fresh spring vibe. It's smells quite soapy reminiscent of Allesandro Del Aqua and gets smoother and creamier in the dry down. I think it'd be a great trans seasonal fragrance, perfect for any occasion and classy enough for formal attire. I feel this would more than likely appeal to mature women, or perhaps women of any age who prefer minimalist, pared back approach to perfume. Not blind buy safe in my estimation. I sure wish it wasn't discontinued.

I got a bottle in 2013, when I was in my mid-20s. Not that I didn’t like it — it was just too much for me back then. I felt like I had to dress up to pull it off. Now, at 37, I can finally appreciate this bottle for what it is: feminine and elegant. I’m glad I didn’t give it away 12 years ago. All the reviews I share here are based on my real experience wearing a scent on skin — in different environments and on different occasions. I’ll make sure to experience this one properly and do it justice before I comment in detail. I’ll be back in two months with a full review...

this one is not as fresh as the eau de toilette ; i much prefer the EDT over the EDP

man I miss this fragrance. want to find a similar one. versace eros does not smell like this at all. vanitas was more smooth and soft, and a little bit creamier as I recall.

Absolutely divine perfume! Versace hardly ever disappoints!

It's a very fresh scent. When I was working in the office, people complimented me on it a lot, but I didn't really like it. It's a freesia and lemon fragrance, and it's pretty straightforward. Discontinued.

Vanitas is Italian for hairspray

This is an inoffensive but mature floral. On me it faded very quickly - like within half an hour. I didn't mind the scent while it lasted, but it wasn't a favourite. I think it would be nice on an older woman. I just don't know why they named it "Vanitas" - vanity. Maybe there are people this would appeal to, the name I mean, but not me and not really any of the women I know well... EDIT #1: I think this lasted longer than I gave it credit for. I just applied a smear of it using the stick in my sample and I believe it's not as potent as other fragrances, so that after the top notes wore off I couldn't smell what remained, but if I really pressed my nose to my wrist there was a softer floral. EDIT #2: Looking at the older reviews... those who googled "Vanitas" might have gotten a reference to suggested translations for Ecclesiastes 1:1, which is about the futility and emptiness of life - sometimes even translated as "soap bubbles," but a more direct translation of this is "Vanity."

Ultra fresh but not in a sour citrusy way, not pungent. It's just 100% "just took a shower" fragrance. The ultimate hot weather go-to fragrance. May not be very original, but it's a great summer addition to any collection.

If you want to leave an everlasting impression wherever you go, don't miss out on choosing this perfume bottle. I just love the smell😍very fresh, clean and femme. too bad they are discontinuing it I couldn’t find it anywhere 💔💔

I bought this blind after a review that said is like fresh shower sensation fragrance, but it wasn't to me, sorry for the lovers but to me smells like room deodorizer, or spray for fresh used bathroom, and nothing can change my mind, and plus no one compliment this fragrance.

I really like this one. It's a little generic but interesting enough for me to want to wear it often. I get a hint of pear in the opening, although that's not listed in the notes. Great longevity, but.... I find that on my skin the day after it's sooo masculine lol.

Pleasant, soft, and happy fragrance. I like the brightness this fragrance brings to a room. It is a nice collection of white flowers and citrus, I like to layer this with my Gucci gardenia or Cacharel's Yes I am Glorious. However, it stands wonderfully alone and has a slight clean soapiness to it as well.

The epitome of finest of the finest luxury. In that very high aesthetic form, which can’t be imitated or acted. Vanitas is stunning. That beautiful lime touch - brilliant, and to the unusual tiare and freesia composition - a shy soapy white floral bouquet - it adds a necessary sparkle, which heightens all of the perfume. It smells so simple, yet vastly distant and unreachable. It’s not exactly regal, but very far up and away from the general population. There is no complexity, it is plain and pure, just the kind of fragrance the plebeian masses usually dismiss as it is boring to them. Embodies an otherwordly beautiful, unapproachable woman, high fences in an affluent estate by the sea, intense privacy and silk or exotic leather for casual everyday at home wear. Yes, Vanitas. Perfect name for this perfume, couldn’t think of a better one, especially, when remembering the collections of Versace of that period. Goddess-like silent doll-blondes, impossibly thin, strutting the runway in obvious lavish luxury. You-can’t-sit-with-us approach. Perfect irony of that name is that we understand the vanity and can recognize it everywhere, yet still are immensely fascinated by it. It’s a mask, but as human nature is weak, easily lured and allured - a powerful one. Not similar to Eros or Love Story, or J’Adore. Oh, it’s my 500th review! So glad I wrote it for a perfume like this.

I have a mini of this and pulled it out this fall, realizing I’d not given it enough love or a thoughtful wearing and review. I was excited when I saw the freesia, as I’ve decide it is a note I enjoy - the “Johnson’s baby wash” smell is pleasant, joyful and calming. This starts as a simple floral and I do get the freesia, clean and fresh. There is a fresh, citrusy note; but I’d never peg it as lime without it being specified here, it’s very generic. Unfortunately this scent fades quickly and never reveals any other notes to me - I expected it to dry down to a sweet wood based on the notes, but this just fades to the faintest white floral; clean, fresh, but not very interesting. Initial projection is ok, but it fades within 2-3 hours to next to nothing. I do catch wafts that give a freshly showered vibe, which is nice, but not really “perfumey”. If you want an office friendly floral that stays fresh, this could be for you. The weather is cool at the moment, so maybe this would be a better warm weather fragrance.

Clean and a bit powdery on my skin. Wearing it recently just figured out - Zara Rose Gold 2016 that I used to love back in time is very similar fragrance and a proper dupe if you can’t find Vanitas.

This one was a hidden gem. A very pretty and agreeable warm white floral with nutty undertones. Clean and femme.

A lovely fresh floral. Doesn’t smell “mature” to my nose, just clean and classy. I bought it to give as a gift, but I tested it in store too and I like it a lot, but I tend towards more woody unisex scents for myself. Can’t wait to gift this wonderful bottle to someone special though!

Tried the sample size but it gave me the worst headache ever. The smell is a bit too floral for my taste 🤢

A very pretty tiare flower scent. I don’t pick up the freesia note, only the tiare with some tonka and a burst of citrus in the opening. Vanitas edp is an easy to wear, very feminine and as others have mentioned, clean scent. I’m surprised at how much I like wearing this mainstream perfume, as I tend toward niche and Indy perfume. Although Vanitas is not particularly unique, it’s well executed, and the scent feels natural. A solid like and I would love to try this as a spray (my sample is a dabber).

This is fresh, clean but sweet in a sophisticated way. It feels more summery because it makes me think of sunshine and exotic holidays, love the tiare flower. But still happy to wear it all year round, on a day to day basis to smell good because there is a light inoffensive feel to it. It is a very linear scent, no complexity. I personally don't see it as an "older" smelling perfume, just that it is elegant and refined. For comparison, I feel there is some similarity to Alien Goddess which is a much more sugary and gourmand version.

I think I’m discovering that I need more fruit in my florals or something because this smells clean but - old ladyish. It is nice in the dry down but it took me about an hour to like it. Like I said, it might just be my preferences, but it is boring and lacking that special something. Like maybe a hint of sweetness or a more girlie floral note? Good staying power and quality though. Faintly reminds me of Tommy Girl from back in the day. It has that same ‘kick you in the face with bright florals’ initial blast, but it calms and it sits. I can see t being perfect for the right person.

This is sexy and clean! Lovely white floral. Perfect for warm weather day and can transition into the warm sexy night beautifully. Again, very sexy, sensual and clean smelling.
