Bonbon

With the new bonbon trio just launched, I thought I'd revisit the original. First and foremost, the bottle is super cute. Quite possibly one of my favorite bottles from the 2010's, it's camp without looking too tacky or cheap. As for the scent itself, I was pleasantly surprised. Peach and orange slices drizzled in caramel with a whisper of white flowers. Far less "candied" than I expected, it's sweet but not cloying. Really nice although not super unique, you could definitely achieve the same scent by layering any peach/citrus fragrance with flowerbomb

Maybe it's just my genes but I don't smell caramel in this at all. It has always smelled like an extremely synthetic chemically floral fragrance to me. I liked it on first spray then hated it after buying it :( No creaminess, no gourmand, not deep enough for me.

I'm really on the fence about buying this one. On one hand, I like how it is sweet but also somewhat restrained. This scent is just pleasant. On the other, it just smells like a slightly better made Viva La Juicy (especially VLV Gold) which is gave away because I didn't use it. Classic example of a scent that I like but don't love.

It's sweet, fruity and creamy..... Very feminine. Ideal for a date Night. Its a perfume I love, but only wear occasionally, but when I do, I instantly remember why I love it so much. Wonderful addition to any perfume collection. Huge compliment magnet also 🩷

I have a bottle from 2015 and it's pretty darn good. I do not wear it much and I don't want to say that it takes 11 years to macerate --- BUT, I'm wondering if maybe just 6 months would make a difference for the ones who aren't truly overjoyed with this one. It's not an everyday type fragrance, but it is stunning at the right time. :) Every time I buy something new these days seems as though it needs time to settle in.

Absolutely love this perfume. Walked into the office wearing it and the projection reached across the room and although I have a hundred different perfumes this one gets the most compliments

Smells like black Opium to me. But more a spicy candy apple? 8/10

The base is the most pronounced on me. Amber and woods. Caramel flows on it and is like in milk candies (Cadbury's and Werther's Original type) plus unspecific fruity top tops it all. Apricot it might be. It is without much character but likeable. The bottle is gorgeous and worth the purchase. It is rather universal with regards to weather and occasion. Not too much in any direction with medium performance. Cozy and warm, but not in a autumn and winter only way, and of medium strength, elegantly projecting just a bit. It is a caramel for grown ups.

I do not smell any of the notes only sweetness. I do not get the peach or caramel. Not for me.

this is a safe, playful feminine fragrance. i really REALLY like this perfume (i'm an enjoyer of sweet, girly scents) but i was a little disappointed by the performance. i didnt actually buy it (it was my mother's and she gave it to me because she dislikes it) but from what I've seen, like a lot of perfumes the price point is ridiculous for the performance. this smells like what you'd imagine: fruity, floral, caramel. it literally smells like a candy, which i love. very sweet on dry down but also very faint which is what is preventing me from loving this unfortunately! on the plus side the bottle looks super cute on my shelf!

My husband bought me this because he loves it and I wanted it for that reason. Personally I don’t love it, it’s very sweet which isn’t necessarily a problem, but it smells kind of artificial to me and reminds me of one of the impulse body sprays I wore as a teenager. In saying that, it’s okay. It just smells like something most of us have smelled before.

I don’t really smell the notes listed, it mainly smells powdery to me with a tiny bit of peach/ orange. Not sure if i got a bad batch. Somebody here said: “ It smells like nothing in particular, but pleasant nothing. It is neither fruity, nor floral, nor gourmand.... it is just pleasantly sweet scent for when you want to wear something, but don't want to risk offending anyone. It's okay, really.”, and that is the best way to describe it, i use it as my everyday scent when im not doing anything special just to go through it and not use my other beloved perfumes. Nothing special tbh

This is Viva La Juicy rebottled Doesn't seem to last that long and I wouldn't say is worth the premium price as a designer perfume. Get yourself VLJ from discounters, it is same thing. Although I gotta admit the bottle is very cute.

It smells like nothing in particular, but a pleasant nothing. It is neither fruity, nor floral, nor gourmand.... it is just pleasantly sweet scent for when you want to wear something, but don't want to risk offending anyone. It's okay, really.

I detest all V&R scents except this one. Bonbon is beautiful. It's fruity yet sweet and not overpowering or cloying nor does it smell juvenile. I love it. Peach notes usually smell like cat pee to me, but this scent does not give me that. I would absolutely repurchase this.

peachy orange popsicle drizzled with caramel and creamy white florals. very mouth-watering and addictive scent.

Finally finished. The biggest issue I have always had with it is the performance. Low staying power on my skin and sitting close to the skin. It’s a nice, sweet scent but not worth the price tag, especially these days, there’s lots of options that smell like it or very similar to it at lower cost. The bottle is gorgeous but I will not get another bottle of it.

First spray is orange blossom, then I get a tiny bit of caramel and a kind of powdery scent. Sadly I don't get a lot of caramel (what I bought the scent for) I do like the scent, but its nowhere near a love for me. I will use up the bottle I have and leave it at that.

Bonbon is one of those perfumes that I would never have purchased 5 years ago. The scent profile was so ubiquitous. It was copied by everybody and their mothers. It is "nice and sweet" but not unique. So popular that it became a generic perfume counter scent. Today, as the temperature starts to fall in early winter, I find myself craving this sweet, syrupy, warm scent. I purchased it and I am happy to say that it is filling my need. It's like having a sweet, warm fruit and caramel dessert on a cold day. Still not unique but I think most of the girlies have moved on from this. It no longer smells "common". I will enjoy this in winter.

my favorite normal perfume, one of my only perfumes I own that I consider somewhat sexy. im so sad they dont seem to sell it anymore. its so yummy. im conserving my bottle.

I’ve seen this perfume around forever it seems! I’ve adored the cute pink bow 🎀 bottle but I never broke down on bought it because just from the name alone I knew it would be a sweet fragrance. I am not a gourmand gal and really don’t favor sweet fragrances. Well, with all the gourmands flooding the market lately, I’ve found a few of them somewhat enjoyable as long as they weren’t too edible smelling. I still wanted a fragrance that smelled “perfumy”. I have to say, this fits the bill for that. I don’t love the opening but on my skin it quickly dries into the warmer woody notes. This is as gourmand as I am willing to go, and it’s very pretty. I’m happy to finally have this cute little bottle! I have to say, I enjoy the sillage quite a bit. It smells fabulous in the air and much better than on skin! It almost smells like a different fragrance all together and it is stunning!! It smells quite a bit more elegant, clean and coiffed. When I smell my arm I get the fruity caramel but in the air I get “boss babe” and hardly any sweetness at all! Very odd! But for that reason, this is a keeper and will likely be a complement grabber! I certainly would compliment someone who had a scent bubble 🫧 this pretty!!

I love this one, an employee of a perfume store recommended this to me after I had explained that most of my perfumes are very vanilla-gourmand focused and I wanted to kind of explore other ventures. This to me is of course still a gourmand; I really get the caramel, sweet edible scent, but it's something other than vanilla again (still love vanilla of course :) ). The initial spray is a bit too sharp for me I think it's too citrusy for my liking, but very quickly it dries up into a beautiful caramel, almost chocolate-y scent that makes me want to eat my wrists (or wherever i sprayed it hahahah). I only have a small sample now and I think it doesn't spray a lot. The projection isn't out of this world, (maybe that would be different if I sprayed from the actual perfume bottle), but not all perfumes need to announce your presence 5 minutes before you enter the room, right? I'd say this is a great wear for fall or spring, not tooo heavy, not too light, just perfectly imbetween. And that's exactly what I was looking for!

I hate this perfume, it gives me headaches but it’s a nostalgic one. I loved smelling like caramel gourmands in my younger years at university, but now it gives me headaches and smells hella cheap to me.

I’m confused by this perfume but not giving up on it just yet. It already settled a bit when i let it sit after its shipping. It’s starting to smell like something else, but still nothing impressive at this point. It’s still lacking personality, but I’ll keep trying. Maybe one day it’ll finally open up to me.

I’ve had a bottle of this in the past and am currently revisiting it. There is sadly something in this note combination that I don’t like or that doesn’t agree with my skin chemistry as to me it leaves a very synthetic smell on my skin that I am just not a big fan of. I find the fragrance quite cloying but I can see why others like it. Sadly it’s a miss for me but the nostalgia revisiting this was nice.

This is not my usual type of scent, but it's the only perfume I've ever worn that has garnered me a compliment from a stranger. A man flagged me down to ask me about it and then said he was going to buy a bottle for his girlfriend. I can see why it captivated him. It's undeniably very sweet like candy as the name suggests, but it's not the kind of fragrance that makes you crave a donut. It still smells like a perfume, it's well rounded, has some depth to it. I actually despise the smell of white florals to the point of getting sick but I cannot really detect the jasmine and orange blossom specifically here, they don't stand out (to my nose), and I enjoy this fragrance a lot. Overall my only qualm is that it is heavy, I cannot wear it in the summer, for sure it is a cool/cold weather scent. But I would say it's a very good date night scent, sweet and sexy and can be quite magnetic and irresistible. Just don't over spray it because like I said it is heavy. It's also potent, a little goes a long way.

Oh Bonbon EDP... The initial spray is surprisingly jasmine heavy? I mostly get white florals and woods in a way that translates as burnt ^^; It tries to fade away within minutes, which is unusual for me! Most scents really grab onto my skin.. It becomes a skin-scent caramel and peach with a slightly smokey cedar base once I let it dry down and come back to sniffing my skin! Its strange, because until I sprayed it for the first time in a long while, I loved the *idea* of this scent, but spraying it again has me questioning that entirely ;;
