Hypnotic Vanilla

I really wanted this to give dark feminine but instead it gives cherry playdough. I also must be nose blind to it as I barely smell it at all after the first 5 seconds. It’s pleasant but I like of expected better from what others have said.

I have this and Hypnotic Poison and I genuinely can't tell the difference between the two.

Not as complex as Diors Hypnotic Poison and doesn’t last as long. But for $50/100ml I think I can excuse that. The DNA is super similar and I can spray as much as I want on me. Not bad.

I sprayed it at the store today, hoping to get to know how hypnotic poison could have smelled. And I'm utterly disappointed. I wouldn't call this sophisticated or addictive - this for me smells like vanilla flavored baby food. There is a hint of almond and that's it. After and hour it became faint, barely detectable on my wrist.

A weak and weedy imitation of the modern Hypnotic Poison, with shampoo vibes. Cheap and cheerful.

I'm in love with the old Hypnotic Poison, but since their reformulation I've been desperately hunting down dupes that resemble the OG. This is a winner! Obviously not the exact same, less complex, less wear time etc, BUT it hits me in the same way, that heavy, addictive smell, almost like truffle would.

Am I noseblind or has there been a reformulation? I just got a new fresh 30ml bottle and the scent is sooo faint, I can barely smell anything. Weird, because when I first bought it years ago, it was beast mode and lasted quite some time...

My parents gave it to me as a birthday gift and it’s absolutely stunning. It lasts quite a while on my skin (7/8hrs straight) which i really appreciate. It doesn’t evolve quite much, the first smell is basically what you’ll get throughout the day. Still, i love it. My Zara’s collection now has 3 jewels: Ebony wood, fields at nightfall and now Hypnotic vanilla ✨

I still have about half a bottle of the old Hypnotic Poison formulation. I’ve been hoarding it because it was my winter signature scent for years, and nothing else out there quite hits the same way. A friend of mine recently bought the new version, so I finally got to test it out. Honestly? It’s not even the same fragrance. The opening is a bit citrusy and watered down, while the drydown eventually screams a faint memory of HP; the whole thing just feels like a cheap, poorly made dupe. It completely lacks the rich density, the creaminess, and that gorgeous, nutty, grown-up vanilla I fell in love with. Knowing I won't be replacing my bottle when it's gone made me so sad that I've been strictly saving it for special occasions. Then, I went into Zara and tried Hypnotic Vanilla. I knew it was inspired by HP, but my expectations were pretty low. I sprayed it once and my jaw dropped: "Wait... this smells like MY HP." It is wild to me that a Zara dupe smells closer to the vintage formula than Dior’s actual current formulation. It opens immediately with that dense, creamy, slightly nutty vanilla. It doesn't evolve much on the skin, but neither does my old HP. It just stays warm, cozy, and incredibly comforting as it blends into the skin. What I love the most is that it genuinely feels like my vintage DNA, but in a brand-new bottle. Since my original Dior bottle is quite old, the juice inside has aged, macerated, and become incredibly heavy and syrupy over the years. This Zara version captures that exact same smell, but with the freshness of a newly opened bottle, so I can actually spray it generously without getting a headache. I wore it to bed and could still smell it on myself when I woke up, so the longevity is definitely there. I haven’t fully tested the sillage yet, but I get consistent whiffs of it throughout the day, which is always a great sign. For the price, the staying power, and the fact that it gives me the vintage HP vibe better than Dior itself right now... 10/10.

It's truly a great dupe for the Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT, like 95% similar. The longevity is great in my opinion for the price point, I love the original Dior and I love this one too.

I’m absolutely in love and obsessed with Zara’s perfumes! I just can’t stop! I can’t wait for autumn to arrive because I’m going to wear this perfume loads! The first spray smells a bit of alcohol, but after about 3 minutes that fades away and gives way to a blend of vanilla and almond that makes this perfume feel really cozy 🧣 as the minutes go by, that blend blends with a sort of musk, which makes it blend perfectly with your own skin. I’m absolutely in love with it! By the way, it’s very similar to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. Pd: I am honestly can't understand the negative reviews, this is such a gorgeous and well done fragrance!

Well now I’m pissed because before this smelled sweet and cosy to me and now it smells like almond mixed with metal, chemicals and car tires 🤮 Why does this always happen to me whenever I buy anything

It's not that bad considering the price but for me it smells kinda like plastic. Yeah, sweet vanilla and caramel but synthetic

i can't believe this smelled stronger to me than the real one(maybe because of reformulation)i was expecting the opposite but way less smooth because of quality. smells like marzipan. Definitely great hypnotic poison dupe!

Pure, uncomplicated playdoh. Remember when you were a kid and got a new pack and first opened the plastic pot? Smells like that. So disappointed I wanted a realistic vanilla scent and the reviews were good so this was a blind buy! Thankfully not expensive

do yourself a favour: buy this perfume, and then forget that you even own it for a whole year. it smells good fresh out of the box, but the scent develops into such a lovely scent as it matures that the price i paid for what the bottle holds is just unbelievable. lovely warm vanilla, and for how much it costs, it is incredible.

Really nice scent but I sense alcohol first and then the perfume which lasts less than an hour or two. I don't have Dior Hypnotic Poison (neither edt nor edp) but I actually like the smell of this replica and I think I'll buy the og because of how much I like this one

I am only familiar with the Hypnotic Poison Parfum rather than its Eau de Toilette counterpart. I tested this fragrance after hearing it praised as an almost uncanny dupe for Hypnotic Poison. It may well be a faithful dupe of the EDT, which I have not tried, but I must remark it bears little resemblance to the EDP version of Hypnotic Poison, which is one of my favourite scents. To its credit, it does seem to replicate Hypnotic Poison's signature bitter almond and play-dough accords quite accurately, upon first spray evoking the unmistakable heart of the Hypnotic Poison. Though, compared to the Dior Parfum which is dark, gothic & decadent, this interpretation feels comparatively very light and straightforward. My nose can only pick up on the vanilla, almond & moss. Much to one's delight or dismay, the rich plum liquer, jasmine absolute, and licorice that give Hypnotic Poison Parfum its haunting, almost gothic beauty are absent here. Instead of the deep, velvety richness that makes the Parfum so captivating, this remains a much simpler composition. I also dislike this note moss that Zara uses which I have smelt in some other Zara fragrances (Red Temptation coming to mind). A moss note isn't present in the dry down of the Dior EDP either.

Zara Hypnotic Vanilla was actually on my birthday wishlist last year, so I was excited when I received it as a gift. I bought it because of the notes and because I was searching for perfumes with a similar vibe to one of my all-time favorite body mists, BBW Dark Kiss. As someone who loves ambery vanilla scents, Hypnotic Vanilla seemed like an easy choice. Unlike the cozy, fluffy vanilla fragrances that are popular these days, this has a darker, more mysterious vibe. To me, this smells like a woman in a black or burgundy dress. It gives me a similar feeling to Crystal Noir EDT, but I find this waaay more wearable. That said, it's definitely a fragrance that benefits from a light hand. In hot and humid weather, overspraying can quickly become overwhelming. It's not a signature scent for me, but I'm glad I got to experience it. I enjoy the dark feminine vibe, but it ultimately feels more like a fragrance I admire than one that actually represents me. 7/10

This smells amazing, like a less heavy Hypnotic Poison. It lasts 5/6 hours on my skin and projects! I've been reaching for this one a lot lately and performs well for me in the warmer weather! Not cloying at all! A great buy and I will purchase the larger size.

ahh smells so designer at first spray. I wore this the most during the holidays, so to me it reminds me of the city on christmas. I feel like it's too mature on me for every day wear, but its a cozy yet sensual vanilla for more elevated occasions. I LOOVE the dry down, initially I sprayed this on my jacket in a ZARA and took an entire month trying to figure out what it was. Lingers on clothes forever in the most perfect way. for some reason the top notes I just don't like, but the dry down is so good it almost feels like another perfume ^.^ I'd say it's a safe blind buy, I haven't tried Diors HP though.

smells so good on my skin like a vanilla bean chai latte! The powdery notes become so effortlessly creamy :)
