This is a high end aromatic fougere...I don't get the beach or beach hut association...there is nothing aquatic, salty, or mineralic about this profile at all. "Country Club Man" more accurately describes the vibes and use cases for this fragrance. It opens green and very minty and dries very aromatic, woody, and smooth. It smells really good and very gentlemanly. I guess if I can describe this profile in one word it would be "refreshing". It was 100°F today and Beach Hut Man handled that heat perfectly. I sprayed myself about 5 hours ago before running errands and Beach Hut is still going strong. I can still smell it projecting off me as I type this review. Overall, this is very nicely done, but the name is a miss. I find this fragrance works well in high temperatures because its notes can withstand the heat, but it's suitable for any season. I bet it would be a fantastic scent to wear while golfing with clients or colleagues. This is an excellent choice if you appreciate classic fougere fragrances and are over 30. 9/10
I've never been much of a beach guy. Guilty, I did grow up for 9 years in the middle of the mountains which only reinforced my appreciation for high-altitude forests. However, smelling Beach Hut Man, I would be lying if I said that the thought of a beach hut resting in the shade of a tropical forest with the view of the sea as far as you can see doesn't intrigue me. And that's exactly the image that Beach Hut Man sparks in my mind. Well, largely. It's particularly interesting and rather clever, I might add, how Beach Hut Man achieves the aquatic association without actually being an aquatic fragrance. Before you can start working on that association, you got to get through the heavy blast of galbanum in the opening. It's intensely green and sharp, with its trademark bitter vibrancy shining in particular. All of this is nicely contrasted with its fatty, earthy/balsamic facets which add density and depth. To cool things down a bit, refreshing mint leaves get crushed on top, actually managing to pretty strongly evoke that menthol "coolness" when you breath it in. And for a little bit of delicate sweetness, the orange blossom aids with a honeyed white floral richness which fits beautifully in the picture. With time, things settle cleaner, but also deeper into the forest rather than further into the ocean. The green structure of the scent brings a heavy emphasis on moss - damp, dark, bitter - reminiscent of wet soil. The ivy includes a botanical aroma, like crushed stems or tree sap, whereas the vetiver is not too prominent, largely helping with the earthy/soil aspects without overdoing it. There's a particular "moisture" present; cold moisture, which soaks some dry woods at the base along with the help of patchouli that leans further into the forest soil aspects. And top it all off, a spoonful of balsamic myrrh abides over this forest soil for a whisper of warmth. Throughout the whole composition, you can tell there's something semi-aquatic going on. But it's not aquatic in the traditional sense. There's no briny/salty marine accents, no ozonic accords or bright citrus zest. It's just a "heavy" green freshness which sort of tricks your brain into an aquatic accord, and it does so remarkably well. For once, I had very high expectations from a predominantly "fresh" fragrance like Beach Hut Man regarding its performance. It's dense and notably thick, so seeing it get 12 hours on my skin was not a surprise. However, while I'd still say performance was pretty good for a fragrance of this class, it still delivered a little less than what I anticipated. But frankly, I think my expectations were set wrong from the start, as I was hoping for a fragrance that keeps projecting consistently on the long run. Instead, Beach Hut Man preferred a shorter timeline, but with stronger pushing power. And for the first 3 hours, it was hard to fault its "aerial potency", noticeable to largely anyone I'd come into contact with. But after those first 3 hours, it would soften quite rapidly into a skin scent. But anyways, we know performance does vary from person to person, and weather conditions play a major role too. Whatever those conditions would be, they don't seem to affect the versatility of Beach Hut Man. From cold winter mornings to high heat summer afternoons, I find Beach Hut Man perfectly wearable. It is definitely on the heavier side of freshies, so it might not suit everyone's liking for the summer. But I don't mind it at all. In Amouage's current fragrance lineup, I don't think they offer a better freshie than Beach Hut Man. And that's largely because it doesn't follow the traditional rules of a fresh fragrance. It changes the airy, light nuances with heavy, dense ones, and instead of serving you a classic aquatic accord, it lures you deeper into the forest, further away from the sea, whilst still implying that the sea is nearby. I believe that it's a beautifully made fragrance, and one that hardcore galbanum lovers should more than seriously consider. But even for those who simply want a breath of fresh air from all of Amouage's heavier oriental, spicy creations, Beach Hut Man is exactly that. Is it worth nearly $400? No, but if you can find yourself a good deal closer to the $200 range, it's worth considering, provided you already fell for the trap and entered the beach hut, which you won't want to exit even if the ocean calls your name. Tarzans signature scent or the scent of The Jungle Book Very bitter green, humid jungle smell. A mature/old school style scent. Incredible manly cologne for the heat with great performance
This fragrance gives natural green smell but more like plants. I did not get noticeable mint fragrance which was a disappointment. It is a Sharp , soapy, fresh and green fragrance. I feel some allergic symptoms whenever I apply it, may be due to some natural green ingredients in it.
I've spent a good amount of time wearing a few fragrances from Amouage over the past several months, and I thought it was finally time to sit down and share my thoughts on them. Amouage has always been a fascinating house to me. Founded in Oman in 1983, they've built a reputation for creating bold, luxurious fragrances that blend traditional Middle Eastern perfumery with a more modern style. They're not a brand that plays it safe, and whether you love every release or not, they almost always have something interesting to offer. I figured I'd start with one of their most well known fragrances, Beach Hut Man. Released in 2017, it was inspired by "the infinity of the ocean and the silence of virgin forests." Despite the name, this isn't a tropical beach fragrance. Instead, it's meant to capture the feeling of standing where the coastline meets dense green woodland. Sadly, it also appears to have been discontinued, which is a shame considering how distinctive it is. So let's step into the world of Beach Hut Man and see how this journey through nature unfolds. Right from the opening, you're hit with a healthy dose of fresh mint. It smells like actual mint plants rather than chewing gum or toothpaste. Alongside that is a sharp, grassy greenness from the galbanum that gives the fragrance a really natural feel. There's also a bit of ivy in there that adds even more realism, creating this earthy, leafy accord that genuinely smells like you're outdoors rather than wearing something trying to imitate nature. About 30 to 45 minutes later, that sharp green opening starts to calm down. The mint is still very much there, but now you begin to notice a touch of orange blossom. It adds just a little bit of sweetness and a soft white floral nuance without ever becoming floral in the traditional sense. Around the same time, the earthy moss and dry vetiver start to come through, giving the fragrance more of a forest floor character while still keeping that fresh green edge intact. After about an hour and a half to two hours, Beach Hut Man becomes a little more resinous as the myrrh starts to show itself. It gives the fragrance a slightly sappy quality, almost like fresh tree resin, but the mint continues to push through, keeping everything feeling alive and vibrant. Then after about three or four hours, the patchouli and woody notes become much more noticeable. They're earthy, dry, and incredibly smooth, adding depth without taking away from the fragrance's vibrant character. What I'm left with is a really high quality blend of lush mint, dense greenery, earthy woods, and forest like accords. Even though the base introduces darker notes, the fragrance never loses its zing. It doesn't feel like it's constantly changing into something completely different. Instead, it naturally evolves while staying true to the same outdoorsy idea from beginning to end. This fragrance has grown on me quite a bit over time. I've heard people compare it to classic green men's fragrances, older fougères, or even some of those traditional barbershop style scents, and I can understand why those comparisons get made. It has that same confident masculine DNA, but with a more modern and refined execution. For me, this is a standout fragrance in that category. It takes those classic ideas of freshness, woods, and masculinity and presents them with a level of quality that really stands out. Beach Hut Man is a fragrance that knows exactly what it wants to be. It's masculine, natural smelling, and has the kind of all day performance that many people appreciate. There's a timeless quality to it that comes from its focus on classic green, woody, and earthy accords rather than following modern trends. Amouage executed that style exceptionally well. The only real downside is that it appears to have been discontinued, which is really a shame. For what it sets out to be, Beach Hut Man is simply a great fragrance, and there's really not much more to say.
i’m picking up a green, soapy fougère structure on top, with a smoky-resinous shadow underneath. that soap-plus-smoke tension is basically the character of this neat, casual-wear, long-lasting fragrance. it smells bitter-green, aldehydic, mineralic, and clean, somewhere between washing powder and old-school shaving soap. it’s slightly dusty and a bit medicinal, which pushes the clean impression toward "powder detergent" rather than "creamy soap". as far as the "beach" label is concerned, this is definitely not the sweet, tropical suntan-lotion style (thinking coconut, tiare, vanilla, and sun-warmed-skin/ solar notes), nor is it the aquatic, salty-citrusy-mineralic style (thinking bergamot, neroli, marine, and calone/ ozone). This one is green, herbal, mossy, and dry-resinous. therefore, it's more "shaded coastal forest and wet rock" than "open, sunny shoreline". arguably, it's better suited to a caravan campsite than to a beach.

Very classy, gentlemen's fragrance. Too green for my personal taste, but definitely of amazing quality and you can possibly not go wrong with this as a 30+ gentleman. I've passed for this one, but all gents that are into green fragrances this is an absolute must try.
This is a nice, vivid take on vetiver. That’s what it is, there’s not much else too it.
I love this scent, but the performance is really not good at all. I just got a bottle, I’m honestly disappointed. Does anyone have any similar experiences?
Lasts too long. I also cannot help but think of the urinal cake comparison in the beginning. It's still nice and green though
Smells like rive gauche if you added mint
New batches arent weak, give it a couple sprays, make a small dent in the bottle, let it stay for a while and boom you have nuclear performance. You also get noseblind quick. You are buying an AMOUAGE, not a Tom Ford fragrance. Long lasting is standard!
Recently picked up a newer bottle. I have no issues with projection and longevity. This stuff smells MANLY to me. Smells amazing in the air. Can be off putting to some if smelled up close due to the strong green note. I personally love all aspects of it. My mom always tells me I smell like the old-school polo green. This scent basically stole the role of Aventus, Hacivat, Bohemian Lime and others for me. I still love those fragrances but BHM just does something different for me. I love the intensity of the opening. Great everyday scent that lasts forever with many layers to it. The ivy/mint combo is so refreshing and addicting. I love to wear it while doing yard work and cutting the grass. Great everyday scent for me. Smells like a barbershop in a super green jungle. My only downside is that it's not as widely available as other Amouage.
Amouage Come on This is reformulated to DEATH 4 hours max longevity max Still want to hear about sillage 1 hour max
Very different from the house. Still not a crowd pleaser and compliment getter IMHO but it gives all year vibes. If you are familiar with Happyland Studios they have an indirect copy titled Wunderland. Same potency but a bit darker and smokier myrrh note.
A very distinguished and complex summer monster
The evolution of this fragrance is the art of the craft. The dry-down is almost a completely different experience than the opening. Heavy mint gives a very unique opening, but quickly becomes a rich green moss. With only one spray in the center of my chest at 0700, the office was buzzing with commentary on “something French” by 1100. Performance is powerful. I was actually surprised when this dried-down into something beautifully floral, but grounded in a damp green foliage. To me it’s roses on the forest floor under a dark green canopy. At 1400, I was cutting through red tape and by 1500 I was literally heading a boardroom, ushered in by the senior leader. The only thing sure about BHM is that it is a premium fragrance.
I much prefer the dry down compared to the opening for this fragrance. Sweet florals, with a very pleasant fresh mint scent. Apart from that, it's very woody. It's a very nice scent, but not sure if it's one I will wear. The long dry down also really does remind me of the beach; so good job on that, Benat. If I were to summarise this fragrance in concrete form: It's like walking into a very damp, deep & thick forest (opening) before coming to a garden (heart) before exiting the forest & being met by a beach. I can understand why someone who this really appeals to would love it, the artistry behind this fragrance is very well done, even by Amouage standards.
Excelente.
One of the main reasons I bought this was for the green notes. The mint, the moss, I get a lot of lemongrass too in the opening. Either way, whatever it is in the top notes that made you fall in love with it, disappears quickly. After the dry down, I get a lot of spice and woody notes, which aren't bad, but it stops being "Beach Hut." It becomes a good, heavy scent but a completely different character.
This is quite a unique scent profile. Smells like a jungle hut with banana leaves and moss after a bright minty slightly dry opening. I really do enjoy the scent but have to go light on the sprays unless in an outdoor setting. Think a greener more mossy creed Viking but replace the rose/pink pepper with a banana type gummy smell. In terms of smell and opening, it’s one of the best fragrances I own and have ever smelt. It is absolute beast mode and lasts all day - the fact I smell it for such a long period is why I only wear it once every few weeks. A top 5 Amouage and one of the best green scents out there. I bought 2 bottles incase it gets discontinued! 9.5/10
To the previous reviewer, I'm convinced you're wearing a new version, new packaging etc. It's almost a different perfume* to my nose. Try to get your nose on the old version, and you'll see what everyone means about performance, and you may also find it more magical, as I do. If I'm wrong and you're getting bad performance from the original formula, then I'm afraid I can't help you. On me it's MONSTROUS. *the new one smells like You Or Someone Like You by ELDO, whereas the orignal formula doesn't smell remotely like it. The mint is completely different in the new version, incorporating a cat-pissy, blackcurrant element that wasn't there before, and the resiny sweetness and orange blossom are completely gone, ergo it smells like a totally different perfume.
When I was congested as a young kid, my mom would send me to bed with Vicks Peppermint Vapor Rub on my chest. For those unfamiliar, the peppermint from the rub acts like a natural decongestant and helps open your nose up. Spraying even just one spray of Beach Hut took me back to that sensation, my nose flooded with a strong minty green. For me personally, I love this smell and this sensation, it was like I was smelling in HD for a few minutes. Scent wise, the dry down for me is almost perfection. I absolutely love the ivy, moss, and woody scents that this leaves on my skin, with the mint still intact but not as overpowering as the start. I didn't get a whole lot of the orange blossom from this one, it is an ultra green, grassy, woods, mint fragrance. I do think the name is pretty misleading. Obviously if you look at what makes up this fragrance, it is quick to see that this is not your typical beachy or tropical or vacation type vibe. To me this fragrance has much more of a barbershop, aftershave type smell, but leaning more earthy and minty than usual. The last thing I need to mention that takes this from a "love" to a "like" for me, and why I would not buy a full bottle, is the performance. Practically all the reviews here for this fragrance say this one is long lasting or eternal, with strong projection, and I just didn't get that. I would call the projection on this moderate, which is good with me, but the performance was really weak on my skin. This one only gave me about one and a half hours of moderate projection before becoming a skin scent. I love this smell and would use this as an everyday spring/summer fragrance, but I can't bring myself to buy given its weak performance on my skin, especially given the price tag.
First off, I love this scent. I wear it daily in the summer. A little goes a long way. This might be sacrilegious, but this reminds me of a more mature/expensive/modern polo green. This doesn’t have the leather and tobacco, which honestly although I love, makes polo green feel like the 80s. But if you love the green part of polo green, this is a real winner.
It my signature scent for the past 6 years !! Simply the best for me I have 2 back up bottle so i should be good for a while
Still available on their website ...
Wearing this today and I’m on hour 10 and this thing is still working. Went to the gym 1 hour ago and caught waffs of the scent as I moved around. Such a great fragrance and I’m glad I still have a half bottle left so I’ll be using sparingly. I will say this works well for the older gentleman it’s a man’s man fragrance not for the younger group. Oh and by the way, got several compliments today at work and that was about hour 3 after applying this morning. Great fragrance and thanks for reading
I cannot believe Amouage would discontinue such a fragrance!! This is one of the best they have as majority stinks!
I'll preface this by saying that I love green fragrances and this is at the very top of my list in that category. Incredibly modern, fresh, professional, distinct. This smells like a modern CEO's secluded jungle office with a sauna and waterfall/garden inside the office. Slightly bitter, very fresh green spicy, airy but with a ton of depth. Money.
