Doesn’t; open as I expected for ‘sunshine’ man. Really boost with lavender, it’s weird and not really appealing at the moment. Orange is starting to come thru, now starting to understand the name. Really smooths out in the mids with the Tonka and vanilla coming thru. Slightly creamy. So much better in the mids. Not sure if it’s for the summer thou? Maybe in the evening. Slightly aromatic, quite unique. The bergamot has appeared on my skin fairly late however it’s a nice addition. In the later drydown the tonka and vanilla take over a little and the other notes are in the background. All in All I good scent which I need to wear more to appreciate it.

Used to have 2 x 100ml bottles of this back in 2016, as the years gone by i got into other fragrances and kinda never looked back on this. I heard it was discontinued but i didnt bother looking for a backup bottle, i tought it would be easy to find another bottle since this wasnt the most popular Amouage. I can tell you for sure, that i regret not getting a back up bottle of Sunshine, because when i smell the empty bottles im reminded of me sitting on a bench in the park, drinking coffee and waiting for my girlfriend who is now my wife ❤️

This smells like the fun uncle you liked hanging around with as a kid. He may be old but young in spirit I imagine him sipping an orange fanta, wearing a hawaiian button up, and snorts a line before diving into a pool during the summer. Then chatting it up at the barbershop afterwards to get his hair done

this is what outlands wishes it was. my favorite of the mens collection has to be fate man, but this is maybe come in second but thats hard to say really. i adore journey and figment and a couple of the masculine opuses. basically only older bottles from this house matter anymore and this one is up there with the best. weird enough to satisfy the collectors and pleasant enough to woo any passerby as i get a lot of compliments with it on. i feel very handsome with it on like a man on his wedding day that has hundreds of hearts breaking because they arent at the altar with him. i went to work with it on and a coworker was wearing outlands and i could guess he was wearing that before he told me bc it assaulted my nose, and he was so curious what i was wearing because it made him jealous it was that beautiful. smooth creamy vanilla that i usually hate is made bearable with zingy herbs and a dry golden hayish immortelle that has a licorice/fennel type of dimension to it. theres just a lot of complexity that chops the vanilla up and transforms it into something enthralling .... Update: someone on here actually sent me hate mail for insulting outlands. These new amouage fans are such Neanderthals the brand is catering to the scum of the earth basic men who own 15 versions of Aqua di gio. Jrkfragfis you have no business speaking to me about perfume until you graduate the 8th grade.

To me this is the best amouage release I've ever purchased. Also something here reminds me of the original Stronger With You but just a little. Amazing fragrance.

This review is about two bottles of Sunshine Man: the 2015 original release and a 2021 bottle. Sunshine man was the second release of the "Midnight Flower Collection", the first being the woman version. Within Mr. Cristopher Chong creations there is a sense of metamorphosis from his first 8 years at Amouage and a second chapter that started with Journey. I have always been feeling that this collection is like a more intimate dialogue between Chongs and his acolytes (enthusiast perfumes fans). Midnight Flower was the pedigree name of Christopher’s beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who passed away two years before the release of Sunshine Woman. In celebration of their special relationship, the Midnight Flower Collection inspires feelings of happiness, hope and love. The 2015 version opens on my skin with a canon blast of dried, herbal, and medicinal lavender that is also extremely floral, coated with candied fruit and candied powder. They’re followed by the crisp and aromatic notes of juniper berries that simultaneously evoke snowy Alpine forests and a well chilled glass of gin. A slice of effervescent bergamot adds a sparkling brightness to the cocktail. A short distance away, something dark and brooding makes its way forward, a rushing river made thick and heavy with treacly, smoky licorice. It slashes through the lavender like a knife, oozing blackness amidst the neon colours. The wound is eventually healed by silky vanilla crème anglaise that rises from the base to act as a bridge and mediator, bringing the two parts together in a swirl of aromatics, smoke, and cream, before ending up as a gorgeous sweetness smudged with smoke. This version is extremely herbal and sweet as the same time. Unfortunately the 2021 version gave different perceptions to my nose: a) the lavender is toned down quite a bit; b) the lavender itself is of a different quality: it lacks the beautiful floral aspects; c) the herbs are no more there. Almost absent are the strong touches of thyme, rosemary, and clary sage. In the 2015 version this herbal bouquet is multi-faceted. d) almost absent also is the gin accord (stemming from the juniper berries) that in the original version is chill and brish and contrast very beautifully the comforting and sweet "grand marnier accord" that stems from the candied oranges. I would suggest anyone who dislike gourmands or, as my self, as a zero tolerance for insulinic bombs, to stay away from what is apparently still sold now, and go for the vintage. with the caveat that I am not a trained nose; mine is an unprofessional and sincere evaluation. Overall the 2021 version is a classical almost boring gourmand as many as we smell today, while the original was an interesting comfy gourmand scent cut - like only Macbeth's dagger can cut - with extremely herbal and brisks notes: like an eclypse. Caron pour homme + sucre et vanille. cloying, headache inducing. Beautiful conceptual idea, but unwearable.

Why oh why they discontinued this I’ll never know. I tried to get hold of it for ages at a decent price but even finding a bottle was near impossible. Then I found out Amouage had a few bottles left and I snapped it up. Gorgeous scent. Totally different to anything I own in a collection in the hundreds of bottles.

@mirasooli, your nose is broken, go see a doctor. This doesn’t not smell like one million at all, not even in the same realm.

Анонім★★★★★

It smells very similar to 1 Million It doesn’t carry the signature character of Amouage scents It’s not special and feels more like a typical designer scent.

Анонім★★★★★

I ended up finding it on the official amouage website, I really wanted this scent. This is probably the most expensive blind buy I ever decided to get, and I hope I do not regret it. EDIT: Two weeks in, this might have jumped to be one of my fav scents of all time lol even better than reflection imo... Starts off heavy booze, orange and lavender mix... its very nice! Immortelle haters will wanna avoid this as 90% of the first 5 hrs of this scent just is the top notes lol then it cools down to vanilla and tonka... bergamot is like... never there LOL. I think this scent is very unexpected/rare its extremely unique, i went in and i think even tho i described it like that i think it is way more than just describing it that way. It isn't really fougere either as some ppl might be mentioning. and to the guy above me, I was doubting myself, when i did try 1Million it literally smells nothing even CLOSE... Anyways, this is a solid 9/10 for me UPDATE JULY 1st 2026 Since May, it has sadly gone off the site… until the other side, sunshine.

FYI I don't believe that this is back in production, and amouage may just be selling off the last of their stock on their website. I recently purchased directly from the website, and it's a 2023 batch. Pretty sure she is indeed gone.

Анонім★★★★★

Good news to those who felt that this fragrance shouldn’t be discontinued, it’s back in production, for the moment can be found only on their website, but as I knew it will be on the market soon… no idea if reformulated or not

Анонім★★★★★

Decanted it today and all am getting is anise idk where that coming from even tho it's not listed but that's all im smelling and tbh I don't like it i would get beach hut instead

I've said it before and I will say it again: I struggle to think of a better recent collaboration in the perfume world than Christopher Chong and Pierre Negrin. These two have given us some of the best perfumes of the century. Sunshine Man starts with an effect of curtains being thrown open to reveal a bright summer sun. It's very bright, it's very hot, it's very big, and it takes you a few seconds to recalibrate your senses and your mind. Lavender and immortelle bring skin-hugging warmth and comfort, orange citrus brings a fresh and invigorating energy, and brandy glues all of these accords together while providing an ample dose of nose-tingling heat. Just like the summer sun, the perfume is going to bear down on you in full, bright, warming glory. Once the sun moves through the sky (the top notes dry down after a couple hours), high-noon brings forth accords of juniper, sage, and bergamot. It's uniquely fun and pleasant to see juniper, sage, and bergamot have such late entries into a perfume since most shove them into the top notes. The heart does not hit you like the opening does, but it still feels very bright and warm, like the sun is no longer in your eyes but has warmed the room around you. As time goes on, tonka and cedar begin to peak their heads out; the sun is fading, and getting cooler and relaxing, letting the warmth of everything around that has absorbed its rays throughout the day do the work for it. The energy and life-force of this perfume is truly wonderous to behold. It is sunshine and warmth and joy in a bottle. Drawbacks or negatives? None that I can tell. The performance is Amouage at its finest, and the materials used are top-tier. I cannot imagine life without this luminous sunshine in it, so it is truly a shame that Amouage has pulled it from our skies.

I used to think "Invasion Barbare | Parfums MDCI" was the benchmark for modern (fougere) lavender - serious, dry, and impeccably tailored. But Sunshine Man quietly outmaneuvered it. I kept the Amouage creature and let the MDCI go. Sunshine Man's opening is an immediate burst of aromatic lavender, sweetened by orange brandy and dry, herbal immortelle. It’s a curious boozy, floral, and slightly candied mix. I see that some have likened it to Pez or candied citrus, but it never veers into syrupy slop territory. Instead, it’s textured... almost grainy, like sun-warmed sand. As it transitions into its heart, the fragrance becomes greener and more aromatic. Juniper berry adds a gin-like freshness, while clary sage and bergamot bring a crisp, herbal lift. This phase is where the backbone structure really shows: the sweetness recedes slightly, and the composition breathes. The late drydown is where Sunshine Man settles into something more grounded. Vanilla and tonka bean lend a creamy softness, while cedarwood anchors the composition with a dry, woody base. The immortelle still persists, maintaining the sun-dried, warm hay-like texture. Performance is solid. On my skin, it lasts 10+ hours with moderate projection. It’s not a room-filler, but it radiates around you. 3 to 6 sprays, depending on your personality... and, if I know that I will spend most of my day outdoors, I am happy to increase the count. Some say it’s not "Amouage enough.” I disagree. Even in 2015, Sunshine Man was proof that the house can extend its footprint into something unexpected... something that doesn’t have to rely on incense, smoke or bombast. Sunshine Man is impressionistic, versatile, textured and it scores high in my book. I'd sample it, while it is still available.

Not office safe nor a safe blind buy for sure. At least with the amount of sprays I’ve put on. 😂 It’s so strong it should come in a 30 ml bottles ONLY. I might review it sometime soon, but for now I need to take a second shower 😂 Don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad smell by any means. It’s just so freaking potent. It does smell nice after the first shower 😂. I am getting a feel of that pleasant dry down everyone's talking about. If anyone wondering, I had put on 5 sprays. And I do not recommend 😂😂. Will try half a spray next time. ____________________________________________________________________________ Update: This is beyond beautiful, This is art!!! I would recommend having two to three sprays on the chest. One at the back of the neck. Stunning stuff. With the suggested application. It becomes an office safe scent. Actually too elegant for the office. A solid 8.5/10

I’m madly in love!!! It smells like the most beautiful herbs mixed with delightful spices and a delicate vanilla in the base. And I can definitely feel the boozy side of - gorgeous Gin&T on the rocks. Need it asap! My ig: scent.guide

Orange creamsicle, with the tart powdery essence of smarties candy, but refined and not overly sweet. This does not veer into gourmand territory and expertly toes the line between fresh and a dry sweetness. Though I typically prefer darker scents, and Sunshine Man is as bright and fresh as I'm willing to go, it's perfect for spring and summer. As this has been discontinued for a couple years, it is impossible to find samples or decants. I had to blind buy this at full price from the official Amouage website, which is something I never do (they recently listed some bottles and seem to be clearing out their remaining stock). While it is not my favorite from the house, I do enjoy it and it is a welcome addition to my collection, which lacks lighter, more summer appropriate fragrances.
