A masterclass in modern masculine perfumery, effortlessly blurring the line between designer accessibility and niche-level sophistication. The rum note is a hyper-realistic note. Honestly, as it settles on the skin, the fragrance reveals a deeply resinous amber and a warm opulent woody base. An essential masterpiece for a collector!
Sweet, leather, smokey, boozy, woody
Rum, Leather, and Incense. Wow! What a masterpiece. I feel like James Bond wearing it.
I bought the fragrance under the impression that I was in for a darker, slightly warm scent thanks to cinnamon, woody, strongly leathery-smoky with a hint of peppery alcohol. Although the packaging is original and the bottle is identical, I am quite surprised. What I smell is a strongly linear (it smells identical from the first half hour after application through the next hour in the gym spent doing cardio workout and after the subsequent shower, here of course slightly degraded by the used soap and water it goes into skin-scent, but it has staying power, I have to admit that) sweet scent of blackberry clear schnapps in an icy frozen bottle complemented by herbal mint, tonka and a pinch of cardamom or similar spices. I miss any earthiness, leather, cinnamon, smoke...dark brown color...I see this as black-purple-green with a grayish frosty reflection. It's not bad, it's not even corny, but it's completely different from what's described here.
i am NOT old enougn to wear this. but its honeslty so good like so so so good like i cant even explain it, lasts foirever basically and smells to me somewhat swyi. on my 2nd bottle
This EDP offers excellent value for its price. It's woodier, less sweet, more aromatic and more balsamic than the original BFM. I don't percieve any Bergamot at all. Labdanum is not declared as a main note, but it's present, and it deepens the ambery and leathery facets of the fragrance. It's not the most challenging EDP I've tested, but it's not mainstream either, so, as usual, test it before buying it. It has excellent longevity and projection, and it can be worn st the office if you are careful with the number of sprays. Very nice boozy/woody/resinous/spicy EDP.
Bentley for man intense, I was eagerly waiting to buy it, I think it met my expectations, maybe I even expected it to be more masculine and stronger but it's ok, this is a very wearable perfume, I think everyone liked it, it's pleasant. The performance is ok, it lasts quite a bit but the projection is a little weaker. Overall, it's worth having. I'll probably buy it again. It's well blended and smells expensive.
Rum, booze, leather, a little sweet... it's a dark, warm, strong winter scent. It's okay. Well made for the price, I'll give it that. My problem is it's just a lot... intense enough that two sprays is already pushing it, and it's not really me. I don't see myself reaching for it. If you're into boozy leathery stuff for cold weather it's a lot of fragrance for the money, just not my thing. I think there are many fragrances in this style that do it better and are less cloying. Personal subjective score: 6.5/10
I finally got my hands on this and just from the bottle design and its aesthetics, you know you're in for a treat. High quality glass, hefty cap and that juice colour perfectly conveys the message as to what this will smell like. Upon first spray many people will get a sweet rum and incense note. You will notice overtime as your nose gets used to it. It will filter that out and upon first spray you will smell the Bay Leaf and Black Pepper prominently. I am 20 and I know many my age or close to it, who would not enjoy this scent profile but for me personally this is just the kind of fragrance I needed in my collection. A very good masculine, barbershop-esque fragrance, it is bright, spicy, aromatic and all of those notes are enveloped by that rum and leather note. You do not smell like some drunkard on the street, this is fine quality liquor that is well blended. There aren't many fragrances that smell like this and even lesser people who wear fragrances in general, so I would say this is a standout. Projection is moderate, though my bottle is of 2025 so it may need to mature a bit, the lasting is subjective, personally for me, can last around 6-8 hours with good moisturisation, for some, it may exceed that. Final verdict: Do give it a try. You may or may not like it, but you can appreciate it.
Finally I was able to smell it and this is so gas that I immediately bought it. I really love it even if there are 34 degrees outside now, so in winter this would be amazing. Not really for young people since it's a really mature and badass fragrance. Best cheapie ever
This is a terrible fragrance. Who in their right mind would wear this? Just because some industry hack has slapped their name on it doesn't make it good.
every time i wear it .. i feel happy ,, warm and elegant .. it’s very nice winter fragrance.. for 50$ ? it’s just like y buy Kylian Mbappe with only 10 million $ 😁
If you don't want to smell like burnt plastic on hot days, don't use this in the summer.
Super masculine perfume. Imagine someone wearing a leather jacket having an old fashioned drink with extra orange peels, exactly this perfume. At the price, highly recommended for winters.
I love it. Super recommend.
A great orangey-ambery-boozy scent, not much else needs to be said. It is awesome. Reminds me a lot of a fragrance I have called Alford and Hoff, but I also strongly agree that it is like Idole from Lubin. 8.1/10
I’ve never written a review but thought I should for this fragrance given its great value. I have both mainstream and niche fragrances, and this holds its own in comparison. It is a beautiful scent. It has a touch of sweetness but no more. The rum, leather, smoke and hints of floral and pepper are all there at different stages. I do not think it is suitable for younger men – definitely above 30 or 40. From the beginning to dry-down it is a lovely companion.
Alcohol and cigarettes; not rum and incense. It's a dangerous game adding booze or incense to a fragrance, and they didn't do either right. Look into getting Azarro Forever Wanted Absolu.
Maybe it's my nose but I don't smell rum, incense, leather just bay leaf, bay leaf and bay leaf with some vanilin and maybe some clary sage. Very medicinal, strong and strange smell. Bay leaf kills all other notes here. I like bay leaf but in more moderate amount - e.g. in Blue Grass. This is just too much for me.
@Slava29 I hope you use that soap as well as you use copy paste in your reviews. This smells nothing like hand soap. Bay leaf Brown liquor pepper leather wood benzoin peek-a-boo it's geranium Overall effect is either early 80s country club or a guy who remembers the 80s and drinks to forget it
It smells good but the problem is so does the gas station rest room liquid soap too, sometimes.
It's a rum-heavy but also sweet scent, I really liked it. It was a birthday gift for me.
this is a solid scent. it is cheap u can tell, it is pretty sharp, but the rum and citrus do come through. the performance is actually mint. amazing fucking amazing for 20 quid. i use this for errands. if i have to nip out for 10 20 minutes. its good man.
Poor man's Laudano Nero! Fantastic for the price, but definitely not blind buy safe. If you look at the notes and think about fragrances with similar notes, you would think this would be a sweet dark date night fragrance like Bvlgari Man in Black. It is not sweet and smells very mature. It's a niche quality scent for sure and uses extremely high quality ingredients. It's a bit sour and dry. It smells like something a hip older gentleman would wear in 2026, not the older gentleman that is still wearing the same scents from the 80's and 90's. It does give me a lot of similarities to Laudano Nero, but that is a much more complex fragrance and I would honestly call LN a masterpiece, but that's another review. Performance is good, 7 hours on skin with string projection in the first couple of hours with 5 sprays. For seasonality, I would recommend fall and winter nights, possibly early spring on cooler nights. The audience is in the name of the fragrance, this is hyper masculine although I could see a certain kind of confident woman pulling this off. This is a dense, dark, brooding fragrance. It's smells extremely mature and smoothly crafted. A home run from Natalie Lorsen and Lalique (yes all Bentley frags are actually made by Lalique). 82/100
A very likeable, spicy, sweet, leathery, amber. Somewhere in the same ballpark of Grand Soir, but less refined and definitely more rugged, despite being less animalic. A bit more mature, not in a dated sense, but in the type of wearer.
Spicy and boozy. Strong with only 2-3 sprays for my skin but best not to overspray it. Best for cold weather and for outdoor, not for office wear. Longevity 10 hours with strong projection for the first 2-3 hours. After that, it stays close to your skin but people can still smell it. Would recommend to try first before buying a full bottle.
Reserve Privee lite. Was good, if a little too sweet, when I first bought it. A couple of years later it is rancid despite not using it. Surprising, because Bentley fragrances are usually quite good. Can't recommend it because you might face a similar problem. Just get a 50ml of the Givenchy instead.
I have grown to like it, but definitely you either love it or hate it. When you open it up, it's kind of funky for a few seconds but then it goes away and smells a lot better, more rum-like. Considering the price, I would say it's for sure worth a try, but if you can try it first, that would be smart. 7.5/10
This is overly sweet with honey and amber notes. You need very little to get over powered by the constant borage of its true intensity. It was cheap enough to blind buy. But I think I need to purge it from my collection. It is not very masculine to me at all. For me, it is Unisex, leaning strongly feminine because of the sweetness of it.
This is the one of the BEST fragrances I’ve smelled so far. Every time I smell this fragrance, I fall in love with it all over again. It’s so sweet, yet incredibly masculine. A true must-have. If you’re reading this wondering whether you should buy it… stop wondering and just get it. The blend quality is fantastic, the performance is satisfying, and while I usually hate calling fragrances “sexy”… …this thing is VERY sexy. To my nose, it’s a boozy, dark benzoin scent that’s sweet, spicy, warm, and just unbelievably good. Honestly, I think this deserves a spot in every man’s collection. The only people I might hesitate recommending this to are those who dislike masculine fragrances — and even then, I’d still tell them to at least try it, because it’s THAT good. I genuinely can’t praise it enough. Now, if I really force myself to find flaws, here are a few: 1. Not suitable for summer This is a sweet, spicy, boozy, dark fragrance. There’s absolutely nothing refreshing about it. It’s warm, dark, seductive, and clearly made for colder weather. 2. The performance is good — but exaggerated online Don’t trust the Fragrantica graphs. This is not some nuclear “beast mode” fragrance. Projection is moderate with very strong sillage for the first 15 minutes, then it settles into an addictive scent bubble for about an hour and a half before becoming a skin scent for another 5–6 hours. It lasts much longer on clothes or arm hair. 3. The bottle design is awkward Not very travel-friendly or pocketable, and the atomizer stem is designed in a way that makes decanting difficult. Most travel atomizers won’t fit properly. 4. Weak presentation Middle Eastern fragrance brands have spoiled us with amazing packaging and presentation. This one just comes in a basic cardboard box that immediately goes in the trash. 5. Cheap atomizer The atomizer leaks a little and always leaves fragrance on my fingers and the bottle itself. It works… but it definitely feels low quality. And honestly, that’s about it. The scent itself is amazing. It doesn’t smell particularly “natural” or photorealistic, but it also doesn’t smell synthetic in a bad way. In fact, it smells very high quality overall. Long story short: This fragrance is NOT hyped enough online. Rating: 9/10 If it had a better atomizer, presentation, and a longer-lasting scent bubble, it would’ve been nearly perfect.
