Absolutely beautiful. I get honey-like,ambery, warm scent. Projects well for first hour, then its a skin scent on me.
#1811 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Checking my database, I’ve tried 22 Xerjoff fragrances to date. I did not like “Birdie” (tons of patchouli and not much else), and “Cruz Del Sur II” ("fruit peels and spoiled milk” was how I described it) seriously disappointed. “Amber Gold” and “Tony Iommi Monkey Special” were okay, but not worth it to me (I’ve copied Tony's guitar style since I picked up my first guitar, so I might have had unrealistic expectations of that scent, but it was just too sweet for my taste). This is the second to the last decant to be tested and it’s a completely indifferent scent dominated by carnation, ylang ylang (not my favorite note) and neroli. More of a lighter floral for women than unisex. Not something I’d wear or recommend for the men. If you’re a carnation fan, “Spanish Carnation” by History Parfums is the way to go. Gave that one to a girlfriend with aquamarine eyes, raven hair and a thing for tight black leather and she totally rocks it! Good Luck and Good Hunting!
This fragrance reminds me of Mancera Red Tabacco, love that fragrance, ita in the same catagory. I will say its initial spray smells very plastic lipsticky, but the dry down is deep and rich..great one for winter but not blind buy safe
This is not for children ;) It's old and dramatic, super bold, vintage fragrance. Smells gorgeous but definitely not a safe blind buy. I bought the small 30ml bottle and its a nice addition to my collection.
love it . but it doesn't last too long on me . and its expensive for that . doesn't any one know any good clone ? on this type
One of my favorite colognes of all time, not too feminine, most underrated XJ by far.
Smells like a carnation caramel melting in your mouth. A deep red color comes to my mind as soon as I smell it on my skin. So synesthetic! I guess it's the vanilla integrated in the amber accord that makes it quasi-gourmand. Passionate, glamorous and warm.
Smells like grandma
Rich and gorgeous!
Short and simple..... A masterpiece.
whoa, I have no idea how much absolute went into this juice, but halfway through the drydown, the indolic punch suddenly walks in uninvited. The amber and spices are so dominant that the florals barely get a chance to speak. Performance on my skin is pretty average, unfortunately. Well it smells like it has stories from another decade.
Casamorati 1888 isn’t a terrible fragrance by any means, but it doesn’t quite stand out within the house’s lineup. The warm spicy accord tends to dominate the composition, overshadowing the other notes and limiting its overall complexity. While it’s wearable, it’s ultimately a pass for me there are many stronger and more compelling offerings from the house that outshine this one.
such a ravishing, dazzling fragrance. boy is it delightful! I want to write down every synonym of "beautiful", but it's never enough. 1888 makes me elated, on cloud nine. most likely carnation (or clove, I still can't differentiate them) or smth else, whatever inside the gorgeous bottle is pure charm. although two quite different scents, for me it evokes similar feelings to Nuit d'Issey. spicy-floral, enveloping and enlivening, kind of providing necessary vigor and verve to continue to stand on your feet in this dreadful, grim and banal world. I can't stress it enough. first time it gave me shivers and some tears of joy. I can't and won't forget that. until drydown, for a moment it might smell a bit "outdated" or lady-like powdery, yet it's also alluring and totally unisex. but still for serious enthusiasts. worth gatekeeping. easily 10 out of 10. need to buy a full flanker ASAP.
Beautiful scent but doesn't last for shit!! Will mature it for a few months and will back with an updated review. Hopefully it improves....
I’m 25. Doesn’t smell like 25 to me. It’s more 40ish. It’s alright and smells flowerish, but more masculine in my opinion. Too heavy for high heat. I would say this is how someone who goes at the church smells like. Exactly like that.
Very well blended. When I think of a sweet/soft "Amber" scent this is it or at least this is what I prefer. Could be a signature scent and is very versatile. Definitely not for a hat/war/humid place. But this just smells good, pleasant. I can see why some say Oajon vibes, but not entirely. It dries down to a creaminess, yellow florals and soft musk. For the soft, strong and confident man who lives in a mild/cooler/dryer environment. Surprised this isn't more popular.
Drydown for me is similar to TF Noir Extreme.
Comparisons to oajan and 40 knotts on some reviews here my God do people actually come on here for a giggle , for a start neither have saffron or rose which are obvious in 1888. This place is a sess pitt. 1888 is another great fragrance from xerjoff in the casamorati line up is it groundbreaking no!but its good enough to have in anyone's collection as usual from the house exceptional blending smooth no harsh sharp edges just a smooth blend. The colour of the bottle is stunning !
I really enjoyed my 2ml sample. It's slightly sweet oriental perfume. Not a fan of this genre but would instantly buy a 30 ml bottle on a discount
I am really enjoying 1888. I think if you can find it at a discount its a no brainer. Complex and creamy with nice soft floral notes. This could easily go Unisex without a doubt. However, my wife doesn't like it but I think she'll warm up to it. UPDATE: My wife now LOVES IT and has stolen it from me. UPDATE: I have stolen it back, very used :(
It's gorgeous and very very spicy. I adore the carnation and cloves but I unfortunately can't keep it as it leans too masculine for me :( Great scent, but I just prefer softer ones. I do agree, the sweetness of it is similar to cola, LOL.
Great scent, I did buy the full bottle. Smells like holiday dinners with my family. It DOES smell a bit like cola at first, I agree with some of the people here.
Casamorati 1888 is what Id imagine the Billionaire Boys Club to wearing on a night out. Its the type of fragrance that turns heads and gets compliments if thats what your looking for. I never grow tired of wearing it, not too sweet or cloying, a perfect gentleman's fragrance. Its the perfect easy grab for daily use. It does have a floral aspect to it, but not feminine in any way.
Parfüm şimdiye kadar kokladığınız hiçbir şeye benzemiyor. Muhteşem kokusu var ve insanı geçmiş zamanlara götürüyor.
This is very good cool weather fragrance. Completely unisex (maybe more feminine) and long lasting/projecting. 3 sprays max IMO. I think it is for an older crowd though. Not necessarily an “old people” fragrance but I wouldn’t expect many teenagers or people under 30 would want to wear this. I would call this office safe either as it is the type of fragrance that could really annoy coworkers. It is about the last fragrance I would chose for a beach vacation. Spicy carnation and coriander opening. After a few minutes I totally get Coca Cola then it dries down to a nice amber flowery (tiny bit of rose). The opening is very masculine and the dry down leans feminine if that makes any sense. Not expensive either… a 30ml can be found for ~$50-60. I really like it but it isn’t something I would wear often. My 30ml will likely last forever.
smells like the drydown of PDM oajan
@ Efinni I thought I'm the only one resembling this to 40 Knots! The first time I sprayed 1888 at home, I went straight away to get my 40 knots for a comparison. I find them weirdly similar, but my wife doesn't feel it.
po meni ovo je skroz zenski parfem
Everyone that is complaining you have to let this frag macerate. After it macerate it becomes FANTASTIC! 🍃 🍁 🍂
I love it. Strong, creamy, unique. One of the favs. Can't sense the patchouli note, so it's not a problem.
