Love Chopard

Holy grail for rose lovers. The bottle's deep red glass is already a spoiler: opulent, sweet, spiced roses, dipped in honey and left to age. Romantic and a little vintage, like a dried bouquet kept for the memory.

Only for people who love roses and vintage aesthetics. If that doesn’t sound up your alley don’t buy it just to complain about „old lady smell”. Love Chopard smells exactly like its bottle design- super red, vintage rose upon rose upon rose. A little waxy, almost like a candle- for me it conjures up an image of a red heart shaped cemetery candle snitch, glowing next to a fresh bouquet of flowers laid on tombstone, on a dark, rainy day- must be some childhood memory. There aren’t many notes backing up the rose it might require reapplying. I don’t think it’s necessary a bad thing, because if we added a few more stronger accords the rose could lose its realism, and it would become another „beast mode” fragrance with an abstract take on rose, and there are already a lot of offerings like this on the market- buy yourself a Portrait of a Lady, Rose Tonnere, La Fille de Berlin or Amouage Epic woman if you’re looking for that- they are all great.

I get the comparison to portrait of a lady. This is a little less refined. Not much else to say other than its rose upon rose with a little sprinkle of citrus orange. Its fresh and clean smelling. Perfect for spring summer. A little vintage but in the best way possible

My top 3 perfumes is Portrait of a Lady, Porpora and Radical Rose. I'm very surprised that Love Chopard despite being very very affordable is of the same level and quality as all my 3 top perfumes. Maybe not as long lasting but that is not an issue since we've all got used to reaplying our fragrances throughout the day. This could easily be mistaken by POAL if they are not side by side. I'm very happy with this fragrance!

yes this is truly a memorable Rose-Perfume created by one of my favorite perfumers, Alberto Morillas. it's strength lies in the Seven different types of Roses and Rose-materials. (Taifi, Damascus, Bulgarian, Maroccan, Turkish, 'Roseolate', 'Rose Absolute' of which some are Roses Millefeuille.) and it shows. I guess you have to be a Rose lover for this perfume, which I am. Violet in the beginning would give the onslaught of Roses some lightness and preciousness, which is certainly imaginable but perhaps it is this Perfume which operates with such Aplomb and Annexationism that any attempt to 'enlighten' it is kind of obsolete. Pink Pepper always go well with Roses as does Cinnamon. in the heart again, the rapturous beginning evolves into even more dense Roseness and Flowery Delight to bewitching levels. (this is All that I Love.) Jasmine Sambac acts always as co-conspiritor to Roses as is often the case in Chanel perfumes. it gives Classiness and Sophistication. all the infused Roses behold yet an airinees and floatingness. without losing any of their Purportion and Superimposition. perhaps the Orange Blossom, as someone mentioned below, lend this fabulous perfume some Piquancy and with the Mandarin Orange also named here 'Mandarin Zest', it adds Fruitiness and Tang. as Roses often also give off a certain Orangéade. then the perfume is further sublimely blended with Honey, Patchouli, Woods, Cacao, Vanilla, Brown Sugar (a unique smell- signature) and Tonka Bean. this all give this perfume an emergence as Regal as Opulent, as Feminine as also Brutalist and as Superelegant as also an Irrepressable, Unique and Voluptuous Perfume.

Do you like roses? I like roses! I like this! It's a lush romantic deep rose - not powdery, not soapy. Edge of dried roses in there too. I don't really smell. the other notes but I think they are there mostly to anchor the SEVEN different kinds of roses. I think I'll end up using it a lot for layering, but if I need a rose hit, this is the one in my collection for it. Great value too.

This is my Portrait of a lady and Radical Rose back up because all three fragrances are identical. I cannot tell whether I'm wearing one or the other. I could just as well copy and paste my Portrait of a lady review here. 😊

I rarely dislike something, but I don’t like this. Way too musty. Shame.

I loved the scent initially. It's the perfume which got me to like patchouli. But quickly it developed a rancid smell which makes the perfume unwearable unless I spray it on my clothes a day prior, then that smell evaporates. I can accept that I stored it incorrectly. However, I store all my perfumes the same way and have never run into such issue. Anyone else have the same experience?

This fragrance is lovely! It’s rose done right. To the reviewer who claimed the ad for this is racist because a white woman is depicted in the ad while this is clearly an Arabian perfume and “white washing” an Arabian scent, let me see if I follow…. You’re telling me that a Spanish perfumer, who studied in Switzerland, because he was inspired by French perfumers created an Arabian fragrance and the ad people are racist??? That’s one heck of a stretch!!!😂 I would also like to add that this perfume reminds me of Fenty by Rihanna. I have and love both. I just realized that Fenty was created by a French perfumer for Rihanna who is a Barbadian!!! Oh shit! Here we go again….

Just bought another bottle of this because I love it and it’s such good value for 100 ml. As I’ve commented before, this could have been one of THE great rose perfumes if only it had improved sillage and longevity. Buy a big bottle of this and spray a lot!

Sweeeeet rose like the it's glaced in honey with spices. It's sits at the oppisite end of dewy/green rose. There seems to be red & purple berry notes, or it's just an illusion of the honey note. Anyway, if you're into thick, syrupy and spicy rose (maybe middle-eastern style?) I think Chopard Love is a must try for you. It's a beautiful and powerful rose, just not my type.

At the beginning the roses are a bit too much, too red, too heavy making me think of the first weeks of being in love - the extreme heart flutters, the overwhelming feeling of "what's happening to me??". I can't really enjoy it properly, as it's more confusing than enjoyable, and that's the beginning of love stage, kind of like you're not sure if you really want what everybody seems to be chasing so hard. Thank goodness that doesn't last forever. Give it some time and it will develop into something warm, deep, sweet and creamy, that somewhat reminds me of ripe raspberries handpicked on a very warm day. Something that reminds me of beautifully complex yet well balanced and long discontinued... YSL M7 that I've been trying to find for years now. I think this could work on any day, moderation and overall style being the key.

Take any flowery and sweet perfume, add some nagarmota or amberwood, you’ll get a middle eastern perfume. It’s not very complicated and not very refined. Just in your face.

My second review, now that I have a sample vial: The marketing imagery of a white model in a red dress honestly angered me. This perfume is the definitive scent of Middle Eastern perfumery, yet Chopard has erased any trace of those origins. It feels like a complete rip-off and an act of "white-washing" what is 100% an Arabian scent. It’s disappointing to see a brand act as a racist colonizer of scent profiles without giving credit where it's due!

Powder and rose bouquet mashed together. 6 months in and it just keeps getting stronger and sharper which is a double edged sword in itself. It is not a solo performer sadly, it needs a sweeter smoother scent to ease off the raw sharp bitter rose in this bottle. I truly wish it became more complex with time but it’s pretty boring… I absolutely love having it on my dresser however, I only reach out to it for the lasting power and strength, less so for the scent. Some extra vanilla and honey would have made this a real man-killer! Not sweet enough for my fiancé to fawn over like other fragrances. 8/10 for presentation, power, price, longevity. Loses points for lack of complexity, and bitterness.

Powder and a bouquet of roses mashed together… A reviewer said this can easily become a signature and I bought it for that reason. It is not a solo performer sadly, after 6 months of having this, the rose only gets stronger and more powdery which I fantastic for performance however, I wish it developed into something more complex and mysterious. This is why it needs to be paired with a sweeter, smoother scent to take the raw sharp bitter rose edges off. It could’ve been massively better with some more vanilla and honey but that’s just the gourmand lover in me speaking. I love having this bottle on my dresser! I only reach out to it for the lasting power and beauty, not the actual scent. 8.5/10 - loses points for lack of complexity and bitterness.

A sweet, fruity floral fragrance with ALL THE ROSES and a touch of sugar and spice. Leans feminine. Not my usual sort of thing (generally prefer a more natural rose) but am enjoying it. Am also getting quite keen on Chopard as a house - not quite cheapies but very reasonably priced and great quality. Nice bottles too. EDIT: For another, more natural, less sweet ALL THE ROSES option, try Enigma Quatre by French Avenue. Trust me, it is rich, lush, and smells far more expensive than it actually is ie cheap as chips.

Here again… try this with Eau de Lancaster bodymilk. Thank me later 😘

I'm a rose lover and the opening of this is incredible, I was blown away by just how much rose there is in here! On my skin, the middle notes are still rosy but the orange blossom really makes itself known much more than the jasmine. In the drydown, still a rose, and still somewhat orange blossomy, but some kind of a weak nondescript vanilla thing appears. It's fine, and not unpleasant at all, but after such a powerful opening it feels a bit unbalanced to have a rather insipid drydown. I still like this, but I was expecting more development. Maybe I'll try layering this over something with a more interesting drydown. ETA: after a few months, this has become my go-to winter work scent. It's really perfect for that context.

So beautiful and such quality for the price. On my skin this is an absolute dupe for Francis Kurkdjian for Elie Saab Essence No1 Rose which sits close and is ever so slightly more resinous.

I can’t compare this POAL. It’s just not like it at all. Yes, it’s a rose in a rose on a rose. But it’s different. It’s very smooth but deep, dense. Not sweet. It’s a mature fragrance. Does smell expensive , slightly powdery and a little sweet. At times a very young and fresh scent comes through. Very enjoyable. Not cloying I do get some sugar and honey but no sandalwood on my skin. I’m very please with the purchase. The bottle is also very pretty

Yeah this is definitely a better Portrait of a Lady, it's absolutely gorgeous. So Portrait of a Lady smells like an Old portrait, an old book with a subtle rose with powder, and most of the smell is a dark patchouli with like incense and the rose is so faint that i honestly can say it's a rose fragrance without looking at the notes. This is like a Gothic book with fruity living happy kinda roses around it, it's like a Portrait that is colorful and blossoming. I sprayed the room with this perfume and when i came back i could not believe how sensual and sexy this perfume was. It's like a vintage backroom of an Oprah singer with her make up and all. It's a bit to girly for me, but this could be my signature honestly. Let's even start with the amazing silage and longevity, it's more noticeable then POAL seriously.

reminded me of Raquelle Harper from Barbie. its so Jammy Reddish almost Purplish Rose its super gorgeous. smells like a vintage goth back make up room before an Oprah. I love wearing rose perfumes for my runs and workouts cause, i feel bougie and elegant, and it makes me disciplined, with my strides and pace. honestly won't be shocked if i like this more then Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle. 7.8/10 #PurpleRose#GothicMansion#Vampress

My initial impression: A scaled down, softer, slightly sweeter alternative to the Portrait of a Lady DNA. The roses of Chopard love are blushed out, and it incorporates subtle touches of vanilla, honey, and soft holiday spices. Not my favorite classical rose chypre, but it's definitely the best dupe for POAL I've tried. It's not as dynamic, but I would argue that Chopard has improved the scent in some small ways. It's well rounded, smoother, not as sour. Absolutely great value for the price. The cap is impressive considering it's made of glass rather than plastic. Unfortunately the rubber stop is an ergonomic hassle. It squeaks, and it's hard to remove and reapply!

I didn't know this scent existed until I smelt the atomizer. Straight away it gives off POAL vibes. That same earthy patchouli rose that also exists in a few other POAL Alternatives. Immediately grab a bottle at $95 sgd (at Mustafa). Overall great scent if you enjoy this dna. Bottle is feminine red but it's unisex and so nice to wear.

Please message me if you want it. Selling a fully new 100ml bottle. Opened it but only sprayed on my wrist 3-4 times to 'test it'. I am willing sell it at a heavily discounted price just to get rid of it cuz my body only picks up rose rose rose rose rose and more rose soap no depth, no spice or sweetness whatsoever. Super disappointed.

I don't know if it was just me getting used to such a strong perfume, or you really just have to spray perfumes out of the box and let them sit for a few days before they settle, but the first few times the opening was way too strong and sort of green/plasticky? But I could tell that the heart of it was amazing, and the dry down is perfection. It is as bold as the bottle suggests and now that it has settled, the way I experience it is like taking a walk through a lush garden of tall rose bushes, wearing a warm, soft luxurious winter coat, and eating chocolate covered Turkish delight. Love it.

I love chopard fragrances but I think this one just does not work with my skin chemistry. I smell nothing but a strong sour rose, nothing sweet, nothing spicy.. I have one fragrance oil at home called 'fresh cut rose' and it smells the same to me. The bottle is lovely, but unfortunately, it just does not work on my skin.
