simple vanilla scent, very approachable and not overwhelmingly sweet. makes me think of eating ice cream under a cozy blanket in fall :> lovely as far as vanilla perfumes go, creamy and not too artificial.

A milky vanilla with floral undertones A small volcano erupts in the Hawaiian highlands and somebody in a house nearby is making french vanilla bean icecream from scratch as the volcanic air begins to permeate the house. It’s a love for me..

i feel a different way everytime i smell it. most of the time it gives a very spoiled curdled milk vibe from the woody notes in this but some days i get a woody vanilla bean ice cream. the initial spray is always very vile to me but the dry down is so creamy and gourmand and i’m in love with it. sometimes if i want to wear this ill spray it on my clothes an hour before going anywhere just so i dont have to smell the vile opening. i’m very conflicted on this one.

Milky and airy wet with very little sweetness. It's milky not creamy and that milk is like skim not whole which is to say it's a thin milk not a richly lactonic one. There's a slight plasticky note to it like you're sniffing the empty milk jug... As it dries there's a slight sweetness that comes out, but it's not the rich vanilla that you'd expect from the listed heart notes. The floral notes, resins, and sandalwood never come through for me. It's a pretty linear slightly musky and sweet milk for its entire wear time. It might be good for layering in a slightly sweet hint of lactonic vibes to another fragrance but isn't a solo wear for me. It is in the realm of Philosophy's Fresh Cream, but Fresh Cream is more of a true lactonic note while Vanilla Milk is a bit sweeter and feels more synthetic.

smelled this for the first time in anthropology during a winter trip to boston to visit my best friend. it was so good i called her over immediately and made her smell it, too. luckily i don't get the sour notes that others have mentioned: i smell cold, sweet milk and pure vanilla extract. it's cozy, beautiful. second only to dulce as i tend to prefer subtler fragrances.

Анонім★★★★★

I think it’s okay. Definitely vanilla. But at first spray it smells like a certain type of vicks with vanilla. I’m not sure which note it is that is hitting me like that but it’s all i smell

I think I like this one. On first spray it's very smoky on my skin, even though there aren't any smoke or incense notes. Then I get the notes of cocao and milk. I think it might be the cacao that's causing the smoky note? I don't hate it but I'm not sure its one I'd wear on a regular basis. I think I'll wear it to bed to help calm down anxiety.

The very first time I smelled this was in store. I was so confident I would love this that i sprayed directly onto my wrists. I hated it. Smelled like Smokey BBQ sauce. I tried so hard to like it but it just kept smelling like bbq sauce lol sniffing it from the atomiser smelled good but on skin was not it for me. Fast forward a few months and saw a travel size for a really good price so I grabbed it. Received it today and testing it out for bedtime and I still get that Smokey bbq sauce but it’s not as bad. It’s not a love for me

I heard a couple people say it smells like gasoline of propane. I have no idea where or why or how people are getting that from this. I get a mysterious evening type of vanilla, a little smoky, musky, and very creamy. I cant compare this to anything else because it truly is one of a kind but this is right up my alley. The types of vanilla I have been liking particularly in the evening are ones like phlur vanilla skin, vs bare sueded vanilla, la vie elle belle nude, kylie cosmic intense, replica afternoon delight, glossier reve and i mix all of thoae with clean reserve skin or dedcool milk. I actually hope that this one isn't liked so that it can go on discount and I can buy tons of back ups lol. I absolutely love it through and through from first spray to dry down and especially the milky creamy dry down it gives of a sexy mysterious vibe.

first spray in the store- obsessed. now, after owning it for a few months- slightly less obsessed. the intial spray is always sooooooo good. creamy laconic milk... mmmmmm... vanilla and chocolate weigh it down and the florals lighten it right back up... fuck okay maybe I am obsessed with this perfume.. I really can't be mad at her. after a few hours though, I definitely understand the plasticky play dough smell everyone is mentioning. but.... I kind of like that?

Анонім★★★★★

There is zero sweetness on my skin. It’s pure milk minus the natural lactonic sweetness of milk itself.

Анонім★★★★★

Unfortunately, this pulled really plasticky and almost like a burnt rubber vibe. The notes were too good to be true, so I guess it really depends on your skin chemistry. :(

Анонім★★★★★

The ultimate ‘creamy vanilla’ scent to me. It smells exactly as it is named - like sweet, vanillary milk. The lactonic note is heavy and wears beautifully with my skin chemistry, but I have smelt this on someone else and it smelt almost soured so I would recommend sampling this before purchasing. However if you like milky gourmands, I would say it’s generally blind buy safe. It’s like Maison Margiela Afternoon Delights younger, funner sister. The only downside for me is the projection! It’s definitely a skin scent for me, lasting 1 to 2 hours max, but I am happy to keep on applying throughout the day as I love being in a vanilla milk scent bubble so much.

Well damn, I do like this scent but my bf does not. I wore it out on the weekend and with a disgusted look on his face, he asked me what kind of perfume I was wearing. I told him it was a vanilla milk perfume and he said it smelled "very Middle Eastern, it didn't smell that good." Sigh. I guess it's a good thing I didn't buy a full bottle.

Анонім★★★★★

to me, it is what it is--vanilla milk. i like lactonic notes and i adore vanilla. put together it works well for me. it's definitely heavy on the realistic lactonic note, and i can see how that might not always translate onto skin. so it's definitely not blind buy safe. but to me, it's been one of my favorite vanillas.

Анонім★★★★★

As a lover and someone who is absolutely obsessed with gourmands, this one I actually have struggled to get on board with liking. It’s a vanilla that really isn’t a gourmands sweet type vanilla. It’s like an aged vanilla with some sort of old milk scent thrown in. Hard to describe but it doesn’t smell purely sweet as you’d expect. Will try to layer with other fragrances.. I also don’t get that much projecting off this one either and I have the oil rollerball!

Анонім★★★★★

I don’t know what the deal with this fragrance was, but I could barely smell anything when I sprayed it. Nothing. No projection, no sillage, and barely anything when I pressed my wrist up against my nose. Very disappointed.

Анонім★★★★★

Wow, its amazing to me how most people dislike this scent. It's a gorgeous, nuanced and woody, playful vanilla. I think the cacao and amyris make it so nice. I have never perceived any sort of sour milk note, just a slight playdoughy sweetness but to me, that is not synthetic its nostalgic. And the other notes make this a scent I honestly love regardless of what others think.

It’s wild to me how poorly this perfume is rated. I’m always searching for the perfect vanilla fragrance. I loveeee the smell/taste of vanilla icing and vanilla ice cream, but I haven’t found any vanilla fragrance that is close to that. Here are all of the vanilla perfumes that I own that I love, but don’t give me that vanilla icing note: nishane ani, xerjoff Naxos, Mancera amore caffe, mancera aoud vanille, amouage boundless, Vertus vanilla Oud, and montale dark vanilla. All of them are gorgeoussss vanillas in their own right, but none of them gave me that deep, ambery vanilla bean icing that Ellis Brooklyn vanilla milk gives me. Vanilla milk lasts 16 hours on my skin, and throughout it I get random whiffs of that deep, milky, vanilla bean. There is a touch of lactonic funk, but I love it. It smells like egg nog, and I LOVE it. ALSO… this is infinitely better than maison Margielas afternoon delight. They are in a similar category, but vanilla milk is wayyyy better

It smelled like burnt rubber and had sourness and then the burnt rubber kept fading but the sourness was still there mixed with the vanilla. I don't mind the sourness tho! if i had a lot of money I would buy this but as of now this isn't even a want for me. 3.5/5

Rating: 0/5 Stars. I’d give it a negative if I could, but I’m too busy gagging. I went into this expecting a warm, sugary hug. I expected to smell like a high-end cupcake or at least a respectable milkshake. Instead, I smell like a refrigeration failure in the middle of a July heatwave. The Experience Upon the first spray, I wasn’t met with "vanilla." I was met with the scent of milk that has not only expired but has begun to develop its own government and local currency. It’s sour. It’s curdled. It’s the smell of a bowl of cereal left under a teenager's bed for three weeks during summer break. The Notes (According to my nose) • Top Notes: A gallon of 2% milk forgotten in the trunk of a Honda Civic. • Heart Notes: Pure, unadulterated Greek yogurt left out in the sun. • Base Notes: Regret and a frantic search for industrial-strength dish soap. FINAL VERDICT If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be haunted by the ghost of a Victorian-era dairy maid who died of scurvy, this is the scent for you. It has incredible longevity, which is unfortunate, because I’ve scrubbed my wrist three times and I still smell like a sentient wheel of Brie. Ellis Brooklyn, we need to talk. This isn’t "milk." This is a crime scene. Pro Tip: If you're trying to get the scent off your skin, try an oil-based cleanser or even some rubbing alcohol. Standard soap usually isn't enough to kill the "sour" notes in this particular formula!

Spoiled baby milk

I'm fighting with the resinous notes, because at first it comes off extremely plastic and synthetic and sours everything. But after it settles on the skin for a few minutes, most of the scent fades out and there's a musky, resinous, burnt brown sugar quality to it that still leans a little too synthetic for my liking. I can see why some people would like this, but it leans unpleasant and cloying for me.

Анонім★★★★★

This plays on me as a half milkshake- half bourbon-vanilla-extract scent, doesn't last forever but doesn't fade as fast as other Ellis scents do on me. It's got a friendly kind of allure. Feels like a perfect one for an end of winter or cool spring day, a casual night out any time. Recommended if you like Philosophy Fresh Cream or the Boardwalk Vanilla Cone soaps from Bath & Body Works (which I think are no longer in production). Won't need this if you have 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods. May want it anyway.

I LOVE this perfume, it's one of my all time favorites. I was really surprised and disappointed to see how disliked it is. On my skin it's sweet, warm, and very vanilla. I do not mind the milkiness--I think it smells like ice cream, or vanilla extract in half & half. I do not get baby vomit (??) or any sourness out of the bottle. It takes a minute or two to settle onto my skin but once it does it's heaven, and I've gotten nothing but compliments on it.

Анонім★★★★★

I had high hopes for this because it's exactly what I would have wanted; milk notes and vanilla; my two favorite notes...it straight smells like vomit in a bottle. like sour spit up. I know from experience as I have a child and this perfume reminded me of her reflux days. thank god I only got a travel sized bottle.

Smells like a plastic doll😭

Анонім★★★★★

This has all the notes I love, as a true vanilla lover. Yes, the first spray initially can be off putting. But it goes away immediately… Stays close to skin and wears off within 2 hours. Smells similar to Juliette has a gun - vanilla vibes.

Sweet, lactonic, creamy, vanilla, powdery, woody, warm spicy, amber, balsamic, cacao, musky, feminine, sensual, inviting, cozy, comforting This is a very milky and creamy vanilla milk intertwined with woody base notes like creamy sandalwood and balsamic amyris, as well as some soft musk. I really don’t get any of the floral notes. Vanilla Milk reads like a glass of milk with vanilla extract mixed in. Overall, this is the most lactonic fragrance that I’ve tried so far, and I do own a few of them. I can understand why some people get a “spoiled milk” scent because this is a very milky scent. It comes across as a vanilla and woody milk. I definitely don’t get anything spoiled smelling, but the milk is the prominent scent. I’ve never got anything that comes across as “burnt plastic” either. In comparison to the new Vanilla Salt, I personally enjoy it a lot more. Vanilla Salt isn’t strongly lactonic, but just has an airy whipped cream note, and it’s less woody. It’s also sweeter, much more aquatic/marine, and with a salty twist. As for the “reminds me” section, I do see a lot of similarities to Replica Afternoon Delight, Commodity Milk, and Philosophy Fresh Cream. They’re all very lactonic fragrances I bought a set of mini bottles a couple years ago to try some of the Ellis Brooklyn fragrances. I feel like that’s a great way to try out new fragrances, otherwise I wouldn’t consider this to be a safe blind buy unless you’re hugely into lactonic fragrances. This was one of the ones I got in the set along with Salt, Myth, and Sun Fruit. I wasn’t overly impressed with any of them, and actually disliked Sun Fruit. I also have Bee, and I do like that one, but I think it’s unique, and not something I’d wear regularly. However, I really enjoy the more recent releases like their mists in Marshmallows, Sand, and Vanilla Sin. As for the perfumes, I’m really loving Miami Nectar, Vanilla Salt, and Queen’s Caramel. For reference, some of my favorites include Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow, Vanilla 28, The Wedding Silk Santal, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, Yum Pistachio Gelato, GdT Celeste, Bianco Latte, Kilian LDBS, Princess, PdM Oriana, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid, Burberry Goddess, The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods, Selena Gomez Rare, YSL Black Opium Le Parfum, Black Opium Glitter, D&G The One Desire, Phlur Heavy Cream, Cashmere Skin, Vanilla Nectar, SdJ Summer è Amor, 62, 39, VS Vanilla Lace, BBW Beach Nights, Boardwalk Marshmallow Clouds, Whipped Honey & Vanilla, Fireside Flurries, Bonfire Bash
