Ristretto Intense Café

Unlike the original, I can pick up coffee. Hooray! Unfortunately , it is really sweet and syrupy to me.

In the beginning - pure rose marmalade. The vanilla and coffee accords are noticeable, but not as a separate notes, more like aromas that were added early in the making of marmalade to deepen its taste. After an hour or so the smell becomes less gourmandy. This is dark, elegant rose, anything else is there to make the rose more interesting hence I think that the name of the perfume is a bit misleading. In combination with the modern bottle it is hard to expect the classic, older, dark rose. I like to wear it occasionally, ideal for sweater weather.

My sample smells like coffee-vanilla liquer. Maybe the rose note got spoiled. It is sweet and syrupy. Winter and autumn only, day and night wear. Floral note peeks out from under the coffee liquer, but I cannot help but to think it spoiled and my sampler has around a year. I would not want my bottle to spoil that quickly so I'll pass even though I loved it on initial impression. If you buy it, better use it up within a year. Fortunatelly once it settles it becomes beautiful. I am still not convinced it is coffee that I feel. Roses become more prominent, and a very oriental base. It is indeed very similar to Delox at this point. But Delox is sweeter. It is strong. It completely swallowed my Devotion that I am wearing today and I have Ristretto only on my wrist. It is in between Delox and Terra Mia, which I think are superior. Terra Mia is less gourmand and more earthy.

I love the original Intense Cafe but it lacked the coffee note I was expecting. In strolls Ristretto, which absolutely delivers on the coffee. Oh boy this is strong! Theres a fight between coffee and rose at the start, its quite synthetic and overpowering... then it starts to settle into the gorgeous rosey Intense Cafe DNA backed by a slight hint of coffee to balance the sweetness. This whole range is definitely not for everyone, but as a certified rose lover, this is an essential fragrance for my wardrobe 😍

This.. is so much better than the og intense cafe imo. It is a very nice coffee smell that doesn’t overwhelm one. It doesn’t have that all over the place bitter and burnt starbucks coffee kind of smell. It’s definitely a kind of scent I want to wear. People are gonna tell you that this fragrance belongs to a certain time of the day or season of the year, don’t listen to them this sht is timeless.

Reminds me of Khamrah Qahwa, although Qahwa has a much lower price point. I’m still searching for that perfect coffee fragrance, and unfortunately this isn’t it. Still a great scent though, extremely sweet

Maybe my nose is broken, but I don’t smell much difference between this and the OG Intense Cafe. Maybe a bit more coffee in the very beginning, but it fades quickly to the OG scent. It’s not bad by any means, as I like IC. But if you already have IC, you don’t really need Ristretto imo.

Right from the opening, you can smell a soft roasted coffee blended with caramel, followed by hints of rose. In the dry-down, the amber really stands out, working perfectly with the rose and the coffee. An absolute masterpiece!!! Gourmand yet elegant and addictive, sexy, great projection, smells amazing. One of my favorites

Ristretto Intense Café by Montale is an absolute treat for coffee lovers and gourmand enthusiasts. I recently purchased this perfume and find myself a bit disappointed with how it performs. I own Montale's Arabian Tonka and Honey Aoud, both of which are powerhouse fragrances that last a long time. This one, however, lacks staying power, so I wonder if the formulation has changed or if I just need to let it sit for a few weeks. I guess I’ll find out soon enough… As for the scent: it opens with a bold coffee note blended with roses and woods. The coffee aroma only lasts a few minutes, mainly enhancing the rose notes. As it evolves, the fragrance develops into a sweet vanilla rose, reminiscent of Zara’s Rose Gourmand. Near the dry down, it reminds me of a softer version of Arabian Tonka—without saffron, but with more amber and sweetness. This perfume feels like a mix of several well-known scent profiles, with a hint of coffee thrown in. It’s about 100% more approachable and easier to wear than Arabian Tonka. It’s a unisex fragrance leaning more toward the feminine side. A man can definitely pull it off if he doesn’t mind the rose notes.

None of the described notes were present in my skin. All i could get is liads of jasmin, white fliral, sweet dandelion-hazelnut. Not even a hint of a coffee. Very dissapointed. Ps. Or maybe my dekant was mixed up?

I blind bought this one and wow this smells amazing. I truly didn't expect this fragrance would win me over like this but its a hit for sure. Montale did their big one with this. 10/10

Strong stuff one spray lasted me through the entire day and project beastly so if u luv 🌹 ☕️ 🍫 is perfect for fall winter and Niche quality for this price is must have ✌️🔥🔥

I love this fragrance, it's one of those you can't stop smelling, it's just moreish. Downside is, I've no clue of when to wear it! It's not quite date, it's not quite night out with friends, it's not daytime, it's just lovely. As strange as it might sound it's just one of those fragrances where it's just for you.

This is very very close to the original and I prefer the original. This has ever so slightly more coffee in the opening and mid and the rose is dialed back. I’ll use up the travel spray and stick to the OG.

I don’t see any difference between this and Intense Cafe, which is good for the wallet.

One of the worst perfume experiences this year. Overwhelming, cloying, nauseating synthetic vanilla-rose-generic-flower-resin pulp. Shapeless, tasteless. Unfortunately lasts forever.

like said below this isn’t a coffee fragrance, but it’s still a fragrance with coffee. as stupid as that sounds what i mean is that the og was a rose fragrance with practically no “intense cafe” in it, whereas this is also a rose fragrance, but instead of an intense espresso it’s more of a latte. it’s fs there in the latte but you’re not like HOLY SHIT that’s a strong shot of coffee. regardless tho i love this a lot, gotta be used to that thick, dense sweet and syrupy middle eastern rose accompanying it tho. gas but don’t blind buy it unless you’ve smelled the og and liked it but needed that little smth that was missing. way better than the og imo

Wow… I can ACTUALLY detect the coffee in this one. However, it’s still NOT a coffee fragrance, for it’s only there briefly. This is a rose fragrance. This is solely for those who want a more noticeable coffee note. Everything else is essentially the same from the original Intense Cafe; a diffusive, long lasting, inoffensive rose. This can totally be worn in warm weather! Office safe. 8/10

I ordered this one from TJ maxx as a blind purchase, it's not only a perfume but a feeling, I got a warm colombian coffee laced hug while eating a chocolate Nutella designer donut story , there is a milky thick note perhaps custard alike and then a very sofisticated rose that grounds everything , bought it for about $80USD

Genuinely just rose syrup, that's it.

after having Intense cafe, and now this one, I can say this is definitely the better of the two. The OG intense cafe is less cafe and more rose bomb, this dies down the rose and amps up the coffee, and its AMAZING. also this Is an extrait instead of EDP, so I can see this lasting forever. This is a 10/10 from Montale

This is actually a really gorgeous fragrance. The coffee mixed with rose, vanilla, caramel, and musk is a really interesting combination. The coffee note is strong in the opening and begins to tone down and smooth out during the dry-down process. Montale's performance never fails; this is strong, with great sillage and projection. You won't be disappointed. This one exceeded my expectations. It's a worthy contender to have in your collection if you like the combination of coffee and rose notes. Totally unisex, great for daytime, especially in the mornings when coffee is most commonly drunk. Overall, 9/10.

Waited forever-and-a-day to try this fragrance. I've reignited an interest to explore vanilla-centric fragrances with additional notes (coffee, florals, chestnut, hazelnut, almond, caramel, etc). I feel straight, linear, vanilla-centric fragrances are somewhat boring, as they lack the depth and development I've grown to love with my previous "genre" of favorite fragrances. I SO wanted to love Ristretto Intense Cafe. And so far, I like it but it's not a love. I've owned and loved several Mancera Fragrances. And I've sampled Montale in the past. Guess I was hoping Ristretto Intense Cafe would be a giant, robust, coffee-vanilla-rose-musk beast fragrance. Sadly, it is not. Perhaps it's just my expectation but even after OVERSPRAYING, I can barely detect the fragrance on my skin. Yes, there is a lovely, dewy rose note and a very very very faint, coffee note. Some musk, I suppose. But I'm having trouble smelling ANYTHING. Also, Ristretto Intense Cafe does not have spicy "add-ins" that many coffee based fragrances seem to have. I do not mind the addition of some nutmeg, or cinnamon, cardamon, coumarin, or spice. But Ristretto Intense has ZERO spiciness, at least not to my nose... The fragrance is a bit of rose, some coffee and musk. And...the reviews have been mixed; however the latest iteration of Ristretto Intense Cafe IS AN EXTRAIT perfume. So the oil content is relatively high (compared to a standard eau de perfume.) The fragrance feels STICKY and OILY on my skin. I have owned and loved MANY fragrances that are Extrait Versions and therefore, known for oily contents. But this stuff feels oily and kinda sticky. Ugggghhhhh...SO disappointed.

This fragrance really hits all the idea it wants to give. I live in italy and yes i drink espresso and ristretto caffè often. This very riminds me of the smell of it it's not identical but it is very close i have to say. It smells a little bit too synthetic to me especially the rose and that is why i'm taking marks off because i would have loved it for it to have more naturals. It is very potent i must say i get more than 10hrs longevity and i have really bad skin chemistry. First time i wore it i got a bit nausated since it is very very strong. Now is it for everyone ? Def not ! This is a really sweet gourmand so if you want more like a salty coffe beans taste this is not it and it is very intense for some even a bit harsh, if you want a less sharp coffe yo might consider Amore Caffe by mancera, smother, silkier and more balsamic. Will it get yo compliment ? Let's be honest here... No, this is not a compliment magnet. it's not that people don't like coffe is that people do not want to sit near someone that looks like a coffe machine, Yes it is indeed a pretty sweet good scent but also at the same time do really people would enjoy smelling a guy or a girl like this mmmmh i don't think so, at least for the vast majority. Is it good ? Hell yeah i love the scent, it reminds me of a bar in the morning and it brings to mind the sound of the ceramic cups of coffe being served at the counter, the barman screaming "one coffe, who's the one who ordered a coffe". And beeing italian this really evocative. When would i wear this ? Well it is indeed a very hard fragrance to wear and contrary to most people in the app i wouldn't wear it in the night, just because it reminds me the morning coffe at the coffee shop, i would not want to smell like a cornetto and a coffe if i'm gooing out to eat with my friends at a restourant or if i'm gooing drinking i would wear this very casually, maybe a day in the library, gooing to university etc... Mark: 8/10

The Ristretto Intense Café has a top note of Turkish red rose breaking into roasted coffee beans, French rose and woods with base notes of vanilla, caramel, white musk and amber though I much prefer the Intense Cafe.
