59 to me, smells like a calming, warm, comforting hug. The notes on this one feature vanilla orchid, sugared violet, & sheer sandalwood. This one was inspired by the warmth of a sunset, and by smelling this, I can definitely imagine wearing this on a summers evening , watching the sunset. In my opinion it’s more of a winter scent, but you can definitely get away with wearing this in summer evenings as well. But to me, I can imagine wearing this one while sitting indoors on a cold autumn evening, reading a book, a candle lit, and ready to sleep. And this one is very unique to me, even though it’s vanilla, it’s not too sweet, but also smoky and the violet gives it a floral touch. They did vanilla just right with this one. I do recommend this one for people looking a for a lighter, vanilla scent to wear for the winter time. Out of all the Sol de janeiros, this one does last the longest, which is unexpected, as this is quite a soft scent. I don’t really have anything bad to say about this, as it’s probably the most ‘safest’ scent out of all the Sol de janeiro scents. It’s not too strong, and not polarising like 68. The only thing I’d warn someone about with this spray, is that it does fall a little on the smoky side, which I love. But to others, some may not appreciate.
Simple yet adorable, as somebody who owns both the 62 and 40, i’d say this is my favorite one so far. Love it and i definitely recommend it, feels as if it fits the “clean girl aesthetic”
This is a masterpiece, such a beautiful deep creamy vanilla orchid with that beautiful touch of sugared violet and yummy sandalwood. Everything SDJ makes in this scent is heavenly, and so long lasting. I love pairing this with good girl by Carolina Herrera or just leaving it on its own. It's beautiful and will be in my collection for years to come!! couldn't recommend this more!! Such a cozy deep calming vanilla!
really strong performance for a scent that is supposedly only a body mist! lasts for hours and catching a whiff of it randomly throughout the day is an exercise on true joy. lovely vanilla orchid scent and the layer of sugar makes it even more comforting to wear. picked this one on days when I woke up feeling a little emotionally fragile and helped me find my footing. very grounding and soothing fragrance that can be worn year-round and throughout the day. amazing performance, the packaging is great for travel, and gets me some compliments as well. i adore it!!
this is one of my favourite fragrances it's so calming, sooo warm and cozy but also powdery, perfect for winter. also perfect for bedtime. doesn't smell like a grandma. it smells like being a fairy. i don't like lavender and i'm so glad this is a purple powdery fragrance with no lavender.
very soft and powdery, the vanilla orchid and sugar feel warm and comforting. currently is my favourite bedtime scent. candied violets for my dreams. can have a bit of a sharp alcohol scent to begin with but it settles quite quickly. and I smell it on me still 6 hours after spraying. smelt more sandalwood when trying in the store though
This one is not as strong as most by the same brand. I had to spray several times before I could really get much from it. It smells strongly of alcohol at first, so you have to wait several minutes before you start smelling the actual fragrance. It's sort of light and sweet. Pleasant but not special. It's great for just freshening yourself up on the go.
idk what it is about this, it just smells magical ✨
My introduction to fragrance!!! I used to adore this scent and I sought many dupes and fragrances similar to it. I thought it was a nice clean unique vanilla at first, and I think that is truthful, but as my bottle has aged something is off with it. Idk if the juice inside has spoiled now or what but it just smells vaguely funky. You can’t go wrong with it! I recommend getting a small bottle tho bc apparently it isn’t very shelf stable.
Oh how i love this. 59 makes me feel like a doll!! Such a beautiful powdery, soft and comforting sweet vanilla. The longevity on this is insane for a body mist; lasts all day especially on clothing and hair. It is also a great base for perfume layering because of how versatile it can be, it goes with anything! This is one body mist that will forever stay in my collection.
Smells like marshmallows, dried up flowers, old lady and musty basement. Almost hard to believe teen girls are wearing this and liking it. Absolutely not do not get this scent
Very plastic-y scent, and I used to like it, but not so much anymore. The body cream is much nicer for its scent layering.
First of all, at this price point, it automatically beats other much more expensive perfumes with triple the price that end up having a mediocre scent. Now, as for the scent: it doesn't remind me of a classic perfume. It actually smells like candied violet! It’s like someone coated me in violet sugar . a unique sweet scent that I like. The only downside for me , Unlike high-end perfumes that blend beautifully and become one with your skin, this one sits a bit on the surface, which is probably why it tires me out . Still, I want to have it in my collection, just to spray it and smell it whenever I'm in the mood! It’s a scent that I haven't really come across before. I was actually afraid it would be dusty and annoying, but it is not. it's more sugary
My sisters have most of the Cheirosas; this is the one that I have liked the most. I prefer the body lotion; it provides the same scent, but the texture makes it feel less sugary, lasts all day, and is easier to layer. I'm not a huge fan of the Cheirosa DNA, but I like the creaminess in here. I would probably love to see how this smells without the heavy load of sugar (only the vanilla orchid, the violet, and sandalwood). My second issue is that I found it extremely juvenile (a consequence of its sweetness). In my head, this goes to the "student" realm: college girls having fun. It is more appropriate for that profile than for mine. Don't overspray; as with every sugary fragrance, it can be overwhelming for sensitive noses.
This reminds me of the Les Anis de Flavigny Violet Candies my fanciest grandmother would bring whenever she came to visit! You can nearly taste the sugared violet petals on your tongue and it’s got a creamy cashmere-like that makes it an absolutely INCREDIBLE bedtime scent! Also- it has INCREDIBLE lasting power when sprayed on clothing/fabrics!
I have tried SDJs and I like this one but it’s not the smell I identify most (40). The violet is prominent. It smells nice, floral, creamy, girly
I just smell something wet and dirty violet smelling nothing amazing …
This is soooo gorgeous smelling in the body cream. The vanilla, the soft powdery violets, just stunning. However I think this loses a bit of its magic in the spray, its sweeter and more vanilla dominant and simple. Go for the body cream!
cozy creamy n a bit powdery n sweet! i enjoy this as a bedtime scent cos it's comforting but the first time i smelled it i was caught off guard cos the undertone smells kinda lik a vinyl shoe (i think it's the violet cos celeste by giardini di toscana has that same vibe except it almost smells like car exhaust in celeste which i hate). i enjoy the mist but i definitely prefer the smell of the body butter over the mist cos i didn't notice the vinyl shoe undertone in the body butter.
this smells so delicious almost like sugary toasted nuts
All I smell is molasses…
A sweet, comforting scent of sugared violets. It's good for layering, but it doesn't last very long.
If cloud and bare vanilla had a child
Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa body mists are intended for very young girls, and that's all there is to it. When I was a preteen, many moons ago (Gen X here), we used to wear Impulse body sprays, Malizia Bonbons, and such. They were very sweet, and synthetic, and obnoxious, and yet my friends and I used to bathe in those. So, the brand Sol de Janeiro's offerings are the Zoomers' and Alphas' answer to all those Malizia sugarbombs that we Gen Xers tortured our parents with.
Unbelievably BORING
This is my favourite all rounder SDJ scent, I find most of their scents very summery but this one can be worn anytime of year. I personally love wearing this in the autumn, a comforting, sweet violet. The longevity isn’t great & I’ve tried finding perfumes which are similar so I can layer but nothing beats the original!
a very sweet and pretty sugared violet! but it falls flat performance wise. i know it's just a body mist, but it completely disappears after 30 minutes. if you don't mind reapplying constantly, it's cute! overall rating: 🩷🩷💔🖤🖤 2.5/5
Ugh this is such a gorgeous fragrance, i'm a lover of floral gourmands so i had high expectations from the beginning, i wasn't a huge fan at first but this scent really grew on me. upon first spray its VERY sweet which threw me off but once it dries down it's sooo true to the notes. i'd say it's a more moody vanilla, it's less juvenile than the other sdj scents which i love. the violet comes through and compliments the sandalwood and vanilla sooo well. I LOVE IT SO MUCH it's perfect for any season
I tried layering this with Lolita Lempicka. 10/10.
It smells very true to the notes but it's just way too sweet for me. I oversprayed it last year and I just felt so nauseous.. it's been 10 months since the last time I smelled it and only had the courage to go with half a spray 😅 it's ok, it's just still very sweet.
