Every fragrance has a story. Tommy has a friggin' SOUNDTRACK. One spray and I'm back in the mid-to-late '90s. Oasis vs Blur. Rockport boots. Umbro bags. Walking home from school because none of us had enough money for the bus. Hanging around outside the Spar shop for absolutely no reason. First girlfriends. Football all day long. Summers that somehow felt like they lasted forever. Even the smell of cheap ganja drifting across the park on a warm evening. Thinking I had life completely figured out, when in reality I couldn't even grow a proper beard... ...Tommy reminds me of an entire chapter of my life. I think that's why I've never been able to judge it purely as a fragrance. It's tied to so many experiences that wearing it feels less like putting on cologne and more like opening an old photo album. Every time I catch a familiar note, another memory comes flooding back that I'd completely forgotten existed. Thankfully, nostalgia isn't the only reason I still enjoy it. Unlike a few other fragrances I've revisited from that era, Tommy has aged remarkably well. It still smells fresh, clean, optimistic, and unmistakably youthful without becoming childish. There's an honesty to it that I really appreciate. It isn't trying to be mysterious, seductive, or overly sophisticated. That's probably the biggest compliment I can give it; it knows exactly what it is, and it wears that identity with confidence. Performance has always been respectable rather than spectacular, but I've never considered that a criticism. Tommy was never designed to fill a room. It sits comfortably around you, creating the impression that you've simply made the effort to look after yourself. Some fragrances introduce themselves before you do. Tommy lets you do the talking. Looking back now, I also realise how influential it was. Before I knew anything about fragrance notes, projection, longevity, or dry-downs, Tommy taught me that smelling fresh could be every bit as masculine as smelling dark, woody, or spicy. That lesson has stayed with me for over twenty-five years and probably explains why so many of my favourite fragrances still live in that same fresh, uplifting space. Would I wear Tommy to a black-tie event? Probably not. It absolutely is a spring or summer day vibe. Would I happily wear it on a warm afternoon, heading out to meet friends, running errands, or spending time with someone I care about? Absolutely. Some fragrances become dated because they're trapped in the decade that created them. Tommy reminds me of that decade without feeling trapped by it. Every bottle I buy feels like catching up with an old friend who hasn't changed nearly as much as either of us expected. It's comforting. It's nostalgic. But it's also very wearable in its own right, here in 2026. I can safely say, if this fragrance had never existed, and it was released today under another name in another bottle, it'd be a modern-day classic.

This used to be a wonderful Summer fragrance as was their Summer flankers msny years ago. This is Dunhill D's younger brother. Unfortunately I purchased this again recently and it has been completely bastardised as it smells nothing like it used to. Too many wonderful fragrances have been destroyed through IRFA regulations and companies selling out to cosmetic brands like L'Oreal.This once wonderful fragrance is now consigned to history alongside Dunhill D, Escada Magnetism and Casual Friday to be replaced by cloyingly sweet metrosexual rubbish!

Timeless classic. It’s not a listed note, but I get a lot of basil in the drydown

I was 25 when this was first released. I remember the ad campaign mentioning that Tommy had an "apple pie note" - and it did! It was subtle, but it was there. I never liked Tommy much back then, but 30 years later, I can enjoy it now. Tommy has been reformulated and the apple pie note is no longer there, but it still captures the same feel. It's spicy and fresh, serving as an inspiration for decades of fresh and sport fragrances for guys. Although it brings back memories for me, I don't find Tommy dated at all. Performance is perfectly fine - if I use 10 sprays, it lasts about 8 hours, which is good. It's not a macho scent, so you won't want this to project strongly anyway.

I discovered this scent in Hatteras, NC, during summer break in high school. This was my second scent, following only behind CK Obsession. This was a powerhouse in its day, and to me is still a masterpiece, and a bar by which I still measure fragrances.

Very good in fact its really one of the best. Performance is just right, I ensure you no one wants to smell you from across the room anyways. Think of brand new white t shirt fresh laundry vibes..

Reliving my teenage years, one spray at a time. I have never NOT had a bottle. Reformulations have made it weaker, with less projection, and I'll still buy it. What I wouldn't give to have bought ten bottles of the og when I was young.

One of the best summertime freshies you can find at a great value! It is very affordable but does not last very long unfortunately but feel free to overspray until you get your desired results!! I'm the kind of guy that will take my fragrances with me (even full sized bottles LOL) that way I can reapply as necessary but trust me you can't go wrong with Tommy for the price and it smells great!! I don't see it on the notes here but to me it has this kind of fresh bubble gum type of scent in a weird unique way and although it's considered "old school" now at over 30 years since it's initial release it still smells absolutely modern! Also, this was one of my "beginner" fragrances that I used to buy at Target back in the day because it was so affordable for a name brand fragrance at the time and still is to this day so if you are new to the fragrance world or even if you aren't... it's safe to pull the trigger on this one and I don't think you'll be disappointed but even if you are you won't be out too much money! I suggest purchasing from a discounter website or store because some places will overprice fragrances like this even though they can be found many places for much cheaper. You can literally get a 0.27oz travel spray for about $8 if you want to try before you buy (invest in a bigger bottle) but if you are the type of person that likes to go big and don't have buyers remorse then you can 6.7oz bottle for $44.. wow, what a deal!

Lavender, grapefruit & mint with a hint of apple sweetness. Unique and unisex. Fresh spicy, green, herbal, slightly-sweet, slightly-fruity & slightly-synthetic. Very good sillage and longitivity.

Fresh, versatile, smells like pink bubblegum to me with slight herbal mint. Very good for the price, I would recommend

Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Eau de Toilette feels less like a fragrance and more like a snapshot of a very specific time of my life. It instantly brings me back to my childhood. Tommy was such a hit in the 90s that at least two of my childhood friends older brothers reeked of it, so inevitably eight year old me thought that the coolest guys in the world smelled like Tommy. It also carries that Fourth of July atmosphere—hot air, backyard gatherings, music drifting around—where everything felt happy, carefree, and light hearted. Coming back to it now, it doesn’t feel like I’m revisiting a scent so much as revisiting a whole mood. What makes that experience work is how carefully it’s built. Created by Alberto Morillas, the same perfumer behind some of the most successful modern classics, Tommy shows a surprising amount of control and balance for something that could easily have gone in a louder direction. The opening is bright and clean, with citrus and mint giving it an immediate freshness that feels natural rather than engineered. There’s no sugary edge or synthetic overload here—just a simple, airy clarity that sets the tone without trying to impress you too hard. As it moves into the heart, the fragrance picks up more character without losing its easygoing feel. The green apple and cranberry give it a crisp, slightly tart fruitiness, but the real standout is still that cactus accord. It reads as a watery, green freshness, something between aloe, fresh vegetation, and cool plant juice. That subtle texture is where Morillas’ skill really shows, because it keeps the fragrance feeling alive and dimensional instead of flat or overly linear. In the drydown, everything softens into clean woods, amber, and a light musk that stays understated rather than heavy. There’s still a faint green freshness running through it, which helps it avoid feeling dated or overly simple. What stands out most is how restrained the entire composition is. Morillas doesn’t push it into the excess of the 80s or the modern “beast mode” territory—he keeps it balanced, breathable, and easy. That restraint is exactly why Tommy still works today. All time 90's classic for sure. I'm going to have to find this in store to see if it's been reformulated from how I remember it in my teenage years. I would put this firmly in the classic category as the likes of the original CK One, CK Be, RL Polo Sport, Dior Fahrenheit etc. There's nothing better than having something to pin great memories to and this scent was (or maybe still is) exactly that. Good times, laid back, not a worry in the world which is what you get from this. Totally inoffensive, safe for any occasion and cheap.

Timeless cheap fragrance that reminds me of junior prom, I enjoy this one, although I don't wear it much anymore. Cheap, green, wearable scent!

Smelled it on a coworker and had to ask what it was. I'm a woman in college and I think it's pretty feminine. Sprayed it on my shirt yesterday and omg it has beast mode longevity, I can still smell it today. I did layer it with Cacharel Noa tho.

Good value for money summer fragrance. I mostly use it weekend short trip. Make you feel like just taken a bath.

Ok, I somehow skipped this one and then I got older and never thought of it again ... because in my mind, it was for younger guys who were a bit preppy. But ... several had recommended it to me who know what type of fragrances that I like. It's called a Citrus Aromatic and in the opening I do get the pleasant blast of citrus but to me I get a heavy dose of cinnamon and nutmeg ... more like spiced tea. You do get a fleeting fresh, clean scent, but to my nose ... it's mostly like spicy, cinnamon apple pie or spiced tea; however, based on reviews ... my olfactory perception is different from the vast majority. It is definitely unlike anything else in my collection ... and for me ... it's a keeper! (Hey ... anyone else get mostly spiced tea or spicy cinnamon apple pie notes?)

Tommy by is honestly such a clean everyday cologne. It smells super fresh and sporty with citrus and mint at the start, then dries down into this smooth woody smell that’s not too heavy. It gives off that chill 90s American vibe but still smells good now. You could wear it for a date at any time of the day, to the gym or just to go to work. It is best imo for spring and summer. It’s not one of those overpowering scents that gives everyone a headache, it just smells clean and attractive. The lasting power is alright, probably around 4–6 hours, so you might need an extra spray later on. But for the price, it’s 1000% worth it. Overall it’s a super easy fragrance to like and a really solid daily cologne. Smells like a successful business man.

Opening is a little harsh but this is one of the original citrus freshies and you cant go wrong. Great value, moderate performance (better than CK1).

Got this for cheap because I already have CK One and Acqua di Gio and was curious about other 90s-scents from Alberto Morillas. First impression from spraying on paper: starts fresh, but develops the most 90s dad-smell ever. Herbal and spicey, but not dark. I don't really like it. Maybe my impression will change in the future.

Masterpiece when it came out in 1995. And timeless masterpiece now. Sure longevity and projection might not be what it once was, but it still smells damn good. Definition of the 90s: Easy going, Carefree, Casual yet elegant, Unpretentious, Light-hearted, Literally IDGAF what people think about me in a bottle. Clean 🫧 crisp, white tee, fresh cotton, light blue polo shorts 🩳 and flip flops. I get like a bubblegum vibe from it also, it feels like it could be the OG bubblegum DNA 🧬 This might be my favorite of all time. The only downside is projection and longevity. But it gets a pass because it is so inexpensive, you can just reapply through out the day. No problem.

this is what started my love for fragrance when i was just starting back in 2016 while i was attending high school, timeless, such a clean refreshing fragrance that i will always have in the summer rotation, perfect for the gym or office.

I’m shocked at all the comments. People calling it linear and “typical“… meanwhile I still remember this from the 90s and all these years later and I still can’t think of a fragrance that’s like it. The only thing I can assume is that the new formulation in the shadow of what it once was. Funny story: I first remember this because this womanizing asshole used to wear it in college. So as much as I liked the scent, I loathed it because he was a reprehensible human being. A decade later I came across it again and I really couldn’t resist how good the scent was. Now, 25+ years later, I still can’t think of a single fragrance that’s anything like it. I enjoy it on rainy spring days for some reason.

Unlike most never ive smelt this before, such a great fragrance, clean crisp fresh spicy zingy soapy. I was addicted to this for a while, Im Sure its got some pepper in it giving it that dry crisp spiciness, the price is Incredible

9/10 The fragrance that started all. I remember my dad and uncle wearing it and it was the first fragrance I got, totally underrated and is a banger in hot weather the green notes and the freshness make it a really pleasant fragrance to wear I recommend this a lot Esta es la fragrancia que lo empezo todo. Recuerdo a mi papa y mi tio usandola y fue la primera fragrancia que me regalaron, totalmente infravalorada con sus notas verdes y frescura es una belleza para clima caliente y el verano la recomiendo muchisimo .

it’s almost impossible not like this perfume. its not very complex, but is very well made. If I could describe this perfume as an experience it would be something like a spring sunny day in a park, you in your younger age with your first girlfriend. The grass is green, the sun is up high, you’re with someone that makes you happy, discovering new experiences, life was simpler… it’s a very good and nostalgic moment. This was maybe one of, if not your first perfume. You probably still have one bottle of this in your shelf. You may not use it anymore, but once in a while you go there, spray it and get happy remembering all the good moments you had when you still used it. I love this perfume!

Smells like Tom Welling’s aura in the early 2000s. Effortlessly handsome, preppy but unpretentious, playful but aspirational. Messy but working on it. A scent stuck in the limbo between the boy, and the man he aspires to become. Crisp white tee with unbuttoned plaid shirt on top type of scent. Montale’s fougeres marine for $70 is what I believe to be the original formulas projection and performance.

Reminds me of Dior higher energy except that the Dior has a better performance and scent.

Smells so good. Soapy , clean , but in a masculine way. Perfect for gym or office.

Understated classic, I don’t know how I went so long without this. Youthful but not juvenile, a throwback but not dated. I get about 3-4 hours of longevity with decent performance.

I originally did not like this too much... smelled very generic. Went back and tried it again with a fresh nose, and WOW. All of the fruit notes are there and wonderfully blended. Its more fresh than Invictus (or Hawas). Honestly if this were stronger, it might be my favorite.... but it is not. It does not project more than a few inches, and it wears off very very quickly. If you're willing to bathe yourself in it, it might be worth it. Hoping one day I can find something that is this with better performance (Hawas Ice is close but not nearly as sweet, and the fruit notes are more garbled)
