It is an elegant and comforting black tea fragrance that captures the feeling of a quiet afternoon with a warm cup of tea. It opens with bright bergamot and apple, leading into a heart of black tea, before settling into a soft base of musk, oakmoss, and amber. Its greatest strength is its beautiful balance between freshness and warmth. The tea accord feels realistic yet refined, while the fruity opening adds brightness and the musky base creates a cozy, intimate finish. It is sophisticated, versatile, and effortlessly wearable. Compared with deeper tea fragrances, it feels lighter and more delicate, with less drama and complexity. Its performance is also moderate, making it more of an elegant personal scent than a bold statement fragrance.

Lovely signature scent

When it comes to citrus fragrances, I always prefer for there to be a tea note. Dear Polly delivers that in the best way. The fragrance starts out with a sharp but organic citrus opening and dries down into beautiful, sweet apple notes, with the black tea still ever present in the back, never going away. Finally, it becomes a musky skin scent with the black tea scent, allowing the musk to become truly captivating. Dear Polly lasts quite a long time for such a fresh and organic scent. It lasts around 5-6 hours on my skin and projects moderately.

Citrusy at first, tea in the middle, and salty Ambergris at the end. Wonderful unisex fragrance.

The first tea fragrance I smelled where I ACTUALLY smelled tea. Not sure what Dear Polly did different but it really clicked with me here. I really like this one, it's bright and fresh. There's something kind of snappy and green in it. I think this would be gorgeous on a morning walk in the springtime. I see the complaints about cigarette smell and it's funny, my skin definitely tends to pull those notes out of fragrances but I really don't smell it here. Similarly, a lot of these black tea fragrances smell masculine on my skin but not this one. This was definitely a win for me.

Can't believe it took me so long to get it, I was buying every tea perfume and kept postponing getting this one. When I sprayed it I could smell dark tea note right away. Love it, my cup of tea!

To me, Dear Polly is the one that completes a rare, soulmate-life partnership with Papyrus Moleculaire. They are so different in personality yet perfectly matched in intelligence, calibre, and unapologetic truth; neither of them care what you think. Both are rebellious and smart, kind, but fiesty. Dear Polly both nurtures and provides in the relationship. Sweet, spicy, clean, wild vocabulary, filthy mouth. Papyrus brings structure, ambition and creativity. Strong but gentle, patient but restless. They are just as powerful apart as they are together and their home is a place where all are welcome and no judgement exists.

I tried Dear Polly after reading lots of comparisons between it, Mixed Emotions (a current favorite of mine), and Ghost of Tom (which I have yet to get my hands on). This is really nice and lovely. It's like if Mixed Emotions were a daytime fragrance. If Mixed Emotions is for brat summer and clubbing until 2am, Dear Polly is Charli's newest stuff (Wink Wink, SS26) and a fresh face with no makeup. Equally beautiful, weirdly similar.

Heads up for all of us who love this one, the Bath & Body works Morning Tea candle they have right now smells like a mix of this & Poets of Berlin

Best way i can put it is that it smells like the white stuff of a pomegranate

Realistic black tea with moss and smokiness. I can smell the bergamot but struggling to pick up any green apple note.

⭐ 1/5 Stars I wanted to love Dear Polly based on all the praise it receives, but unfortunately this was a complete miss for me. On my skin, the tea and smoky notes came across less as sophisticated and more like a stale ashtray. The scent was so harsh and unpleasant to my nose that I couldn't wait to scrub it off. I kept hoping it would develop into something softer or more wearable, but the smoky, burnt quality only became more noticeable over time. Of course, fragrance is incredibly subjective, and what works beautifully on someone else may not work for me. Sadly, Dear Polly was one of the most unpleasant fragrances I've personally tried, and I won't be reaching for it again.

stange as this went really smokey on me.

as green as you can possibly get. reminds me of stealing peeled carrots from the counter while mom prepares to cook stew. i’m outside eating a fallen apple by the tree. breathing deeply outside while the family waits for me inside. i’m taking my time today. my tea’s ice has melted by now but i really don’t mind it.

Unfortunately for my wallet, it’s fantastic. If you love tea scents, you’ll love this one. Black tea done correctly with a hint of citrus.

Very fresh soft smell

I've been through a decant and a half of this now so I need to just get a full bottle already.. This is for sure one of my top favorite tea scents (and I have many!). I really pick up the apple, bergamot and oakmoss. The apple in this is a tart green apple and the tea is a smoky black tea and I love the contrast of them together. It is a moderate to light projector and has great longevity on skin.

Opens with a bright, fruity tea note with an undercurrent of woody musk; like the smell of sweet tea with lemon and almost a touch of soap with a hint of sharpness underneath. Dries down to a photorealistic black tea scent with just a hint of wood, and eventually trails off into a tea-tinged musk. However, when I wear this in the heat, or even just on warmer parts of my body, it does something strange; not bad, per se, but it develops a really animalic quality; there is a feral aura to it that my brain finds incredibly confusing--simultaneously intriguing and slightly distressing. I do not mean "distressing" as in "it smells bad" but "distressing" as in "some animal part of my brain is firing on all cylinders when I smell this". This is clearly a skin chemistry thing, because I have smelled it on other people, and on them it seemed to keep its lemon/black tea/slight woody musk aura without veering into this vaguely sinister animalic musk direction. Given the breadth of results people seem to get with this, I would not call it a safe blind buy, but it is a fantastic scent when it works.

I think this is what I would imagine the baby of The Noir / Le Labo and Mixed Emotions / Byredo to be. if you like these scents and want to be remembered then this is a blind buy

On paper it smells better than on my skin. Unsweetened Smokey black tea.

It's a lemony spiced tea, that smells so warm and inviting. Compared to other tea fragrances that lean synthetic lipton iced tea vibe this one is sooo good. Imagine the steam coming off a cup of tea and that's what you get.

I grew up near the Baltic sea, so it was almost always cold and everyone, including children, drank a lot of black tea. The rich, loose-leaf tea was served piping hot with a wedge of lemon, no sugar. I used to squeeze the lemon into the hot liquid and smoosh it with my spoon to make it extra citrusy. The scent of that lemony tea, including the earthy dregs, would linger in the house for hours. The first time I tried Dear Polly, I was instantly a kid again, wrapped in a blanket in my grandmother's kitchen, drinking a hot cup of black tea with lemon. This is a masterpiece of a tea fragrance: hyper-realistic, comforting, and beautifully nuanced.

This is such a lovely fragrance and I can't stop sniffing my wrist! I have fallen in love with this scent. The tea note, in my opinion, is very prevalent off the top then comes the bergamot, I have had it on over 4 hours, so I smell musk & oakmoss. Love so much!

Анонім★★★★★

can't stop smelling it. very cozy vibes. like sitting by a fireplace with a cup of tea while your legs, covered by a plaid blanket, are resting on a sexy man (who's actually a werewolf) sitting beside you. he's rubbing your feet while you slowly sip black tea with a slice of lemon. don't ask me why I have such specific associations

Анонім★★★★★

smells like TEA! incredible.

Анонім★★★★★

solid tea sent. does smell a little like tobacco could be from the moss. EDIT: Came back to it a few days later, the sharp tobacconess is gone and now its a much more pleascent tea scent.

So nasty. Usually Vilhelm perfumes pull so sweet on me, but this one is super musty, smoky, ashy, and bitter on me. Smells like cigarettes. Actually it smells worse than that; it smells like an old lady who smokes a pack and a half of cigarettes a day, and wears a lot of perfume to try to cover up the smell. Scrubber

Анонім★★★★★

Oh this is beautiful! On paper I didn't get a whole lot, the scent was quite shy, but on my skin I get through all the notes so beautifully! First a not too sharp bergamot, with a little fruity/sweet apple which made me wonder if I would really like this perfume as I wasn't really looking for something sweet. And then it transitioned into a really pleasant tea, still keeping a little bit of the sweetness, in the exact right amount. As a tea lover, I often get disappointed by many "tea" perfumes which don't actually really smell like tea, but this gets pretty close! Smelling it again as I finish typing this and I think I'm falling in love with this perfume. I keep smelling my hand and the more I do, the more I love it. Damn.

Ужасно душит чаем, только в конце намёк на кислинку лимона. Держится аромат на мне часа 4, потом пропадает
