Libre Vanille Couture

Good news: a Perfume sales rep in Adelaide, Australia, told me that YSL will be re-releasing Vanilla Couture Libre in October 2026. I am not sure if this Perfume will be reformulated, but I wanted to let others know.

I don't really like the overall Libre DNA, the lavender is just not for me. I had a bottle of the Intense years ago, and I purchased a 1,2ml tester from this. At first it smelled just the same as the other flankers, but the vanilla came after maybe 1-2 hours on paper. On my skin the longevity is weaker than the Intense, maybe 5 hours and I did not smell the vanilla as much as I did on paper. In my opinion you don't get that much difference with this flanker. It's true that the orange blossom and lavender is toned down with this one, but I don't smell the rum at all.

Back in stock on the YSL website and Notino. Just received my backup backup bottle lol The list of ingredients does appear to be different so perhaps it's been reformulated? The liquid looks a bit lighter in colour but this could just be because my older bottles have macerated now. New juice smells the same to me but will be testing it tomorrow to see if the longevity & performance are the same. Will report back.

Libre Vanille Couture is one of my favourite perfumes in my collection. I picked up a bottle overseas a couple of months ago. I wish it wasn't a limited edition and that YSL would permanently add it to the Libre collection. Deffinetly my favourite vanilla perfume that I own or have smelled so far. Will be trying to purchase a back up bottle on my next overseas trip as I want to wear it all the time in these colder months but dont want to run out of it. I find the longevity on my skin to be fantastic, put it on about lunchtime yesterday and can still smell it on my wrists. Also got a couple of comments saying I smelled amazing.

It's a good perfume, and it smells really nice. But it's so overhyped, and not worth it imo. It's just the same DNA as Libre and little bit more vanilla´y scent. Not worth spending over 200 dollars on eBay to buy it. Le Parfum is still my favorite. Good perfume but not the best in the world. I believed all the hype on tik tok and bought one secondhand, and was like meh, good but Im not that blown away.

It is not worth it 😭 dries down as foul generic tj max random brand vanilla 😭 at first it is more like l’interdt with its orange blossoms vanilla, then drying more like burberry goddess minus the ginger, final form is like foul generic vanilla perfume after you walk in humid tropical country and sweating: FOUL! it is official, the only tolerable libre is libre le parfum, libre vanille couture is not it

I liked this version better than the original Libre, it doesn't really have a baked goods vanilla scent, which is my least favorite kind of vanilla. It weirdly feels like something Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab would do for some reason? It definitely smells more skin-like, but also has a play doh note. It feels like a very fancy version of a BBW or Lush scent. Which if that's what you're after, this is a great pick. But not for me.

I have a YSL Libre Vanilla Couture sample. It is the Libre EDP DNA with 15-20% vanilla added. The vanilla is light, linked to the lavender and citrus notes. Compared to Burberry Goddess EDP, Libre Vanilla Couture has less vanilla. The problem with my LVC is that it does not project very much. It quickly turns into a skin scent. I needed to place my nose clearly on my skin to even smell it. However, when I smell it lightly on my clothes for a day or two. I love the YSL LVC bottle. When I tried to buy a bottle, the price on eBay was outrageous. As the LVC is discontinued, I tried Panache Angel Dust (PAD) 100ml EDP by Khadlaj. Due to the social media hype, I decided to try it. Firstly, PAD is a great dupe for Libre Vanilla. It is about a 95% Libre Vanilla Couture. The strength of PAD is that it removes harsh citrus and lavender-type notes, increasing the vanilla and sweet florals, but still having the creamy bourbon notes. I enjoy my PAD better than my Libre Vanilla. It projects better, lasts longer on my skin over 12+ hours and over 48+ hours on fabric. The sweet vanilla, bourbon & floral combination is absolutely sublime. PAD takes me into another heavenly domain. It makes Libre Vanilla Couture quite ordinary. PAD is very reasonably priced. It has a great sprayer. The mist is fine. I bought 2 bottles because I loved it so much. If you love strong, sharp lavender and citrus notes, PAD will not have these. But for all bourbon vanilla & floral lovers, are amped up; it is a must-try. Now that I have PAD, I do not miss YSL Libre anymore. For me, I think the PAD dupe is better than the original YSL Vanilla Couture. It is more wearable. PAD goes into a courageous territory that YSL does not. YSL plays it safe. PAD is what YSL Libre should have been for me. The thing about PAD is that you do not need to spray too much for a cozy vibe. For me, I love having a sublime trail, so I tend to overspray. I also placed PAD first, waited for 1 min, then added my YSL Libre Le Parfum in equal amounts, and smelled amazing like a stronger LVC. If you like lavender and citrus notes, you could place Libre EDP first, then add PAD to eliminate the vanilla sweetness. I hope this info helps you find a great YSL Libre Vanilla Couture dupe.

I want to apologize to the person reading this upfront, just because this perfume is too good to be discontinued and I truly feel sorry for you if you hadn’t gotten the chance to at least smell this perfume. I feel betrayed by Yves Saint Laurent because they decided to make it “limited edition” because when people come up to me and ask me what Im wearing, every time I have to apologize and tell them the perfume has been discontinued. I don't think there has been a time I had been wearing that perfume and I hadn’t gotten a compliment and I cherish the 50ml I have left with my life. Once I was in the bathroom and the janitor stopped me to ask what I was wearing because it was that good. Another time, I was in my class and someone who sat next me told me over text I smelt heavenly but he didnt want to say anything outloud. I knew even before he said anything because in class, I litterlay saw his eyes ROLL TO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AS HE LEANED IN TO SEE MY NOTES! My Gymcrush smelt me, ( don't worry I wasn’t wearing the limited edition at the gym I was around the school campus with him where the gym was) and I hugged him and he just sniffed my neck and said I smelt “fruity” and he “couldn't describe it but it smelled amazing”. Anyways, it may just be my skin reaction with the perfume but it smells amazing. Sometimes, I’m just walking around the campus, and people literally whip their heads in my direction when I walk by and that only happens when I’m wearing YSL vanille couture. If you are a person who loves attention, this is for you. I hate when fragrance creators hype up a fragrance unless it is truly exceptional, which I beleive with my whole heart it is. I have around a 15 bottle perfume collection, and this is my favorite. Imagine wearing a fur coat during the winter and entering a 5 star hotel. That’s what this smells like. You get the right amount of vanilla, with a hint of lavender and, bourbon. I truly think it is the better version and what was meant to be of the original YSL libre. Perfection for the winter and fall. You will be the best smelling person in the room, if you don’t think so after smelling this perfume, please let me know so I know what perfume tops this one. If you are a female looking for something to seduce your crush or something crazy, I would tell you if it was actually available to get it. I regret not getting a second bottle of it. This is the fragrance you would actually get chased down with so be careful and stay safe. Also caution: I’ve noticed men go crazy with this like you will visibly see a reaction ifykim you didnt hear it from me. 5/5 perfume, I would say its criminal and greedy for YSL to make it limited edition.

compared to the original libre the orange blossom and lavender are toned down. it gets sweeter as it dries and i honestly cant smell the rum at all. im so tired of smelling this dna everywhere. i swear 6 out of every 10 people i walk past at the mall smell like libre now. if you wanna smell like the most basic perfume ever then go for it

So I gave into the hype and I was finally able to get my hands on a full bottle. I have not compared to original DNA but I think this is truly gorgeous fragrance… the interplay of orange Blossom and vanilla caviar is intoxicating and it lasts so long on my skin.

I have the YSL Libre Vanilla Couture, but I understand it is very expensive on Ebay, and currently discontinued. I compared my version & YSL Vanilla Libre on each wrist, and they smell similar. This is what I did. Firstly, I love the Calvin Klein Nude Vanilla Hair & Body Mist. I have just bought it on sale from Myer. I placed it on my nightwear. When I first added my Nude Vanilla mist, then added Libre EDP, it smelled exactly like my Libre Vanilla Couture. This is something I use to layer with Libre. It smells absolutely lovely when added to Libre EDP. I added the Nude Vanilla mist first (2-4 sprays), then the Libre EDP (2-4 sprays), and then resprayed the Nude Vanilla mist (2-4 sprays). It lingers beautifully; it is worth a try for layering. I prefer this mist on fabric rather than on skin because it lasts longer.

PLEASE NOTE: Libre Vanille Couture was only officially released by Yves Saint Laurent in a 50 ml (1.7 oz) size. It was never manufactured in a 90 ml or 100 ml bottle. 90 ml is Not AUTHENTIC.

If you're South African Libre Vanille Couture is available at Truworths. I bought me a bottle about two weeks ago. Price is R2900, or $175 for the 50ml.

I bought a 1.2ml version of Libre YSL Vanilla Couture perfume. It is lovely perfume with a vanilla forward with the Libre DNA. Considering it is so expensive ($350+ on eBay) and discontinued, I wanted to recreate this perfume. I first sprayed YSL Libre EDP Intense twice, and after 2 minutes, I added 2 Burberry Goddess EDP sprays to my wrist. It softens the sharper citrus notes, but you still get the Libre DNA. I compared my original Vanilla YSL Libre to my recreated version. For me, it smells identical. But you need to wait for the 3 types of vanilla to do their magic with the BG for at least 15 - 20 minutes within the drydown. It smells amazing and is worth a try if you have these two perfumes. This perfume combination has great sillage; after 2 to 3 hours, it becomes a lovely skin scent while still maintaining great longevity. You could halve the quantities if you want a softer sillage. I used YSL Libre Parfum Intense because it features a heavier, more luxurious vanilla and tonka bean base than the original EDP, perfectly balancing the signature lavender with a creamy sweetness. I mixed this with my Burberry EDP, and it removed the sharp orange blossom & lavender smell. It smells like a heavenly vanilla-based perfume similar to Libre Vanilla Couture. I hope this helps someone.

Smells good but a little bit masculine maybe because of the lavender.

Beautiful vanilla dry down that really comes out and stays intimate on the skin 3-6hour into wear. Initial impression when sprayed is very typical of the other Libre scents. Lavender and orange blossom over powers the slight vanilla and rum note. It stayed like that on my skin for the first 2 hours of wear. After that, is what I’m obsessed with! A sophisticated gourmand vanilla. Perfect for gourmand fans, looking to level up and mature their collection. The silage of this is noticeable to others. I’ve gotten compliments even after 6+ hours into wear. Although it isn’t the most noticeable fragrance out here when it comes to a strong lingering scent, in my opinion and personal experience. A solid 7.5/10 rating for me!

Smells UNREAL. Wish they didn’t discontinue it

Sweet, vanilla, white floral, lavender, citrusy, boozy, rum, luminous, feminine, sensual, seductive, sexy, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, alluring, tempting, intoxicating, addictive, intriguing, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this opens floral with aromatic lavender and sweet orange blossom. The heart blooms with rich bourbon vanilla and boozy rum which melts into a smooth and sensual vanilla caviar at the base that’s tinged with the lavender and orange blossom. This is absolutely gorgeous! This is what the OG Libre should have been! It’s less sharp and much smoother with the additional vanilla. This Vanilla Couture, Le Parfum, and the new Berry Crush are my favorites of the whole line! I expected that this would be my favorite alongside Le Parfum, but Berry Crush surprised me as I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s gorgeous too! Vanilla Couture obviously shares similarities with the others in the Libre line. I also am reminded of Burberry Goddess which to me is a less floral, and more fresh spicy vanilla. The big differences between this and BG? Well YSL lavender is sweet not so astringent! And BG used such a harsh ginger!! And I LOVE ginger! And ofc the orange blossom… so you’re either a BG gal or a Libre…. I’m ok with being a basic Libre gal! It just smells better and less headachey! IMO! Hope they bring it back

I love it. This is my first ever full bottle purchase from the YSL Libre line. It’s the perfect vanilla scent for anyone who resists smelling like a scoop of vanilla ice cream all day. The vanilla note is present but it does not overpower the other notes; which will makes this a scent to beat for the ladies who want to smell detectible (vanilla forward) but still put together (clean white floral) I really wish they made this a fixed fragrance! This is the only vanilla scent I’ll ever use for the rest of my life. I understand the other reviews saying you can replicate this scent by mixing other perfumes. But if you don’t have those perfumes (which can be expensive) and want a classy, well-balanced vanilla scent, then this is the one to get!

This perfume feels massively overhyped because of the whole “limited edition” marketing. At the end of the day, it smells extremely close to the original Libre, just with a soft vanilla touch added to the base. Honestly, you could recreate almost the same effect by layering the original Libre with pretty much any straightforward vanilla fragrance you already own. It’s pleasant, but nowhere near unique enough to justify all the hype or scarcity around it.

Smells amazing but it's something I already own in different form. This to me is almost 100% an exact mix between Burberry Goddess and Skylar Vanilla Sky. I love it because I love those 2 perfumes but yea I already had them lol

Omg you know what this smells like first spray? Libre mixed with L’occitane amande. Ok the l’occitane amande smell fades as it sits and it smells like the og libre but with a sweet vanillic base. Not super gourmand. It smells good! Sweet for sure though. I know this is lame to say but i wish i didn’t smell libre everywhere. I love the box, but not really a fan of the bottle design. Gosh it’s addicting. Spent an hour intensely sniffing this and now it’s starting to get a bit rich and sickening to me lol.

I’m not sure I would’ve bought this if I hadn't been a victim of the hype. Honestly, seeing it on the shelf triggered my FOMO. But even though I don't really see what the big deal is, everyone tells me the whole room smells insane whenever I walk in. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I gave in, and now I’m a victim of my own vanity, scared of losing the power. It is beautiful, but it's not like I haven't smelled anything like it before.

I got a decant of this. It is a gorgeous fragrance and makes me feel super confident. I really hope they bring this back! So sad it is discontinued.
