Fear and Loathing in Perfumes Scents are subjective, but it's intriguing how we can always find someone go full glue-sniffing unhinged, in their vitriolic exaggerations in describing a standard Oud scent: one unc in the reviews has literally compared this to a vag*na from the middle ages while writing a full episode of middle ages whattapad fanfic of said woman taking bath. Sometimes I wonder if it's just veiled racism because I've often seen this for oud, vetiver, and spice fragrances, three ingredients with their roots in India and the East, or do we just hate things we fear to the point that it blinds us towards the beauty of scents as a medium of self-expression and love? Edit: My suspicion was correct. The man who wrote that review is a vile, racist POS. He has written several reviews with racist insults, almost all under middle eastern perfumes he claims to have tried. Some people are truly beyond hope and redemption.

Warm, sweet, and addictive. Smells like burning wood and vanilla with a touch of amber. Super cozy and a bit sexy. Perfect for cold weather. It’s crazy how good this is for the price. Sometimes I reach for this over my niche stuff.

Reading comments after ordering. Looks like returning it now. Haha @kyle thanks mate you saved my £12

Someone mentioned that it smells like a va-jay-jay... close enough, but one from Middle Ages... one trapped in 100 dresses and covered in some flowers, soaked in the nastiest sweat. This is: synthetic? Yes, as in headache inducing, hallucinogenic industrial cleaner. cloying? Yes, highly recommended for road trips, with your family/friends. Sprayed 6-10 times on clothes. Prepare bags for the instant pukes and camera to get followers. outdated? Yes. A Middle Ages rich but very old lady, who believes that water is bad because it gets through the skin. The lady is married to the doctor who said "water is bad, it gets you sick, never wash!" Vile, headache inducing. The first bottle that I actually threw in the trash in the past 10 years or so. This gets a -5 (minus 5) and good news: someone who cares about humanity decided to discontinue this vile abomination. Save your money, any Axe, Lynx, Rexona, Dove smells like the most expensive perfume compared to this. Should be called 24H "torture of the mind and soul"

I think there has been a drastic formula change and the potency has been heavily reduced. I have batch No. 236013G. Very limited longevity, sillage is almost nothing. The scent itself is pleasant, but I was really disappointed as this is impotent where I was looking for obnoxious.

It’s ok juice, perfectly fine especially for the price but it’s nothing you haven’t smelled before. It’s a slightly smoky vanilla there’s a light oud accord it’s not overpowering at all. Reminded me of Xerjoff bouquet ideale which wasn’t a love either. The other fragrance it got a lot of comparisons too Atkinson’s Oud save the King which is accurate

Анонім

This woody vanilla fragrance is really nice i used to wear this alot got alot of compliments but dont overspray it it sticks to clothes for a long time and the sillage if you have to much you will destroy a small room

This smell like a dog house not a oud perfume

Hi Y'all I am new here. I stocked up on 12 bottles of this Gem back in 2013. Got also 8 of ice Gold. When I layer Ice Gold with Rasasi hawas ice I get something close to Xerjoff Naxos

Анонім

No way they made a perfume based on this TV show. Absolutely hilarious

The gold bottles aside, I'm surprised nobody mentions this one's similarity to Shaghaf Oud, albeit this one leans more masculine with a fresher opening to boot. It's blended smoother, more vanillic-creamy with a boozy aspect. There's this ridiculously OP performance, coupled with this chocolatey skanky synthetic oud note that I really don't mind. In fact, every once in a while, it's just what I need. But only on occasion. I'd love to wear this when it's snowing. Its scent trail is addictive to an extent. It dries down into a sweet burning wood with mysterious, addictive facets. I have lots of expensive, 'niche quality' scents in my collection, but sometimes this is just what you need. Very interesting that this came before PDM Althair, Liquid Brun, Invictus V, etc.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 139 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased January 2021 Excellent pungent powder and oud. Very strong and almost stinky, beware this one and I likely will be buying a full bottle within the next 6 months since I loved my 2 mL decant spray. There was something like this around my extended family/relatives growing up so there's a nostalgia factor as the scent itself pre-dates 24 Gold by at least a few decades. Batch code: K18S473A (unable to decode). Update: I've worn this at least a few times since first reporting on it. Just amazing every time. Grows on you more and more. People are saying this is horrible, now, due to apparent reformulations and I have no idea what they're talking about because my 2021 decant and proceeding bottle purchase in November 2024 smell excellent. No worries nor dramas about quality and content. Functions like a true Arabian EDP, it's a face blaster; a searing guitar solo with a power ballad fade out. Comfort. That M.Yassir idiot returned his bottle right after ordering, how the FUCK are you supposed to know what to look for if you missed the actual honest comments that detail the enjoyment that can be attained with this bottle. You don't know what you're talking about because you HAVE NOT SMELT IT. Upon reflection that sweetness is a raspberry note, more prominent in my bottle vs. the depleted decant which I'd prefer if there were less raspberry. It sticks around throughout the day and that's not a very manly thing, smelling like raspberry. This bottle never said which sex this is for. Now I don't know how old my bottle is, batch code above please PM me, but the raspberry that some of you loved in the original batch/es is still there and it makes it a little unisex. I want more powder, vanilla/oud instead. I love it but that's what I want. Please don't go for Jaguar Oud, this is where it all begun.

#776 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Gotta say it's a shame this line is phasing out because this is one of the better EDTs I have experienced at this price level. Those who voted this reminiscent of Lataffa's "Raghba", Arabian Oud's "Kalemat" and Atkinson's "Oud Save the King" (three of my absolute favorites), have certainly nailed it. And as some noticed, it is kinda reminiscent of Jovan's "Secret Amber." This woody-vanilla-amber combo is common as dirt these days, but some do it better than others, and this is absolutely EDP potency for an EDT price. A lot of reviewers complain of synthetic ingredients in this scent. No surprise as damn near everyone in the industry uses them. Obviously every fragrance maker is not butchering musk deer for perfume ingredients and that much ambergris is not floating up on the beaches. I did a quick search last year and found 383 suppliers of synthetic bergamot oil. Also there's no legal definition of terms like "natural spray", and no global mechanism to enforce them if there were. My ex-wife, who spent us into the poorhouse every time she went to the mall, said I have "bowling alley taste." Maybe so. I like what I like, and I like this scent. I can certainly tell the difference with some synthetics like the difference between vanilla and vanillin, but I personally do not care about the whole "Natural vs Synthetic" thing. In fact in the case of animal derived ingredients I am not interested in seeing Siberian and Mongolian deer musk in my fragrances. Synthetic or not, nothing here is offending my sinuses, as synthetic bergamot oil always does. It all smells fine to me. "Better living through chemistry baby!"

Strong, synthetic (people will very much be able to tell its cheap) and sweet. Its woody but not the encre woody more of a sweet wood. Vanilla is there %100 but a synthetic vanilla. For the price its good but its not the best, ofc im going to use it, but not to somewhere i care about.

SOLD IT - You will learn as you get older and your nose is more advanced with notes in perfumary, that you get what you pay for. While I see the appeal to this scent, ones like me who love dark, woody, resinus, smoky, sweet, dark, mysterious types of scents, this one has a very synthetic smell in it, I always tried to look past it, bc there is something in this fragrance I want to love, it smells like the perfumer didn;t have the budget or time to do what he really wanted to do. THE STRAW ON THE CAMELS BACK FOR ME to sell this was me standing in line somewhere dead of winter and someone asking out loud "SOMEONE SMELLS LIKE BUGSPRAY".. I know she was refrencing me. She clearly doesnt have a good nose, but I can see why she said that. It does have a bug spray type of syntheic chem in it covered in sweet woody vanilla. Jumping of the bandwagon and parted ways.

If the scent is Discontinued you can rebuy it with this link https://fragrancerevival.com/product/24-gold-by-24-type/ bad part is you can only get it in the US

Анонім

My bottle has just ran out, shame its now discontinued. Smells great and lasts long but not worth paying the inflated prices now its discontinued.

Анонім

Smells exactly like a cupcake or those artificial sugar cookies you get from the store very sweet but good!

Анонім

sticky synthetic woody vanilla...for 20€ I suppose it's ok...but it's monodimentionnal and with some disturbing cheap synthetic notes really not enjoyable. It smells good at first or from a distance but it's a mess if you like to analyse or dove into a perfume. Low sillage and longevity OK

Анонім

Cloying sweet mess... Bad. 1/10

Анонім

This smells really nice and sweet. It's like all the green fouger notes were removed from Brut, and the base notes were amped up until noticed right away in the opening. Has EDP strength so I wouldn't overspray this. Spicy amber goodness.

Анонім

Sweet smooth vanilla woodsy goodness with just a touch of oud. Easy to wear, easy grab, great performance, this cheapie is a true gem.

Анонім

Hard to believe this was launched 13 years ago. Where does time go? Still a masterpiece at 13 yrs old.

"Female genitals"...lol...(previous post). An interesting statement; I had three women sniff this, two of which *never* react and/or dislike almost all fragrances. This captured and held their attention, and I realized it seemed to be for two reasons; the synthetic oud was a new experience for them, and there was an underlying...um..."stankiness"...to it that I'm convinced made it "strangely interesting" as one lady put it. I think if someone wants to know what oud smells like, this might be a good place to start (as one variation of what oud is). When coupled with the very distinct vanilla, it's an easy introduction to the note for westerners. Then there's the "V" component. In my experience it is also very clingy, difficult to remove/wash off, and is potent and pungent. Yup. Kinda like a va-jay-jay I guess. Are there chemists out there actively *trying* to put together va-jay-jay accords? One of those questions I guess I don't actually want the answer to.

Анонім

I love this delicious oud-vanilla-amber powerhouse but I wish it didn't have ylang-ylang. The ylang-ylang, anise and guaic wood combine with the oud and create an incredibly animalic scent that smells like female genitals on my skin so I'm unable to wear this in public. Lol. I know it's the ylang-ylang because the deep dry down is when this animalic scent smells the strongest. Very unisex but should be tested on skin, not blind buy safe.

Just opened my bottle . Lovely scent !!! Beautiful, creamy, smoky , sweet goodness!! The incense is well balanced in this. Just a smoky sweet scent. Can’t help but love it. However, this smells exactly like : 1. Juicy Couture: Majestic Woods & 2. Jovan Secret Amber No kidding. I mean the similarities are mind blowing. So, if you collect based on smells alone, then I’d recommend one or the other .

For those who have lived in the GCC, this perfume is nothing special. It's a typical scent that only smells sophisticated to the western nose as they are used to ouds. I have smelled a scent similar to this in so many of my friend's houses, that I no longer find any value in this

Анонім

I am a woman and I don't think this can be worn by a female. The oudh in here makes it more masculine. But this would be a great perfume for men. Smells nice and performance is also good.

Анонім

I bought it from perfumenetwork.in, not sure if I was scammed. All I can smell is alcohol blast. Strongly suggest not to transact on perfumenetwork.in

Wow! Wow! Wow! This smell is as valuable as 24K gold. Agarwood (Oud), Guaiac Wood, and Jasmine are the top notes; Sandalwood, Cedar, and Anise are the middle notes; while Vanilla, Amber, and Ylang-Ylang are the base notes. Longevity is limitless. This is a warm, comforting smell with a lovely smooth oud woody accord. It's both sexy and tasty! It smells luxurious and costly. In a gold bottle, a pleasant perfume with powerful branding and huge projection and silage. Giftable! Completely blind purchase. Very well combined. Gourmand. This smell is AMAZING!
