this smells like straight up armpits and im not exaggerating

While I'm certain this has no real oud in it, it does do a pretty convincing job of imitating some of the cheap Ajmal real oud perfumes, such as the dirty-diaper+baby powder of 1001 Nights (though this one is polite compared to that). Smelled side by side the difference is stark, but this is the only cheap commercial western perfume I've ever smelled that comes close to what Ajmal does in their elusive oud lines.

The fragrance is much lighter than what I expected, very summery and very gentle. I blind-bought it and I do not regret. For a blind buy this is actually perfect - soft gentle rose, a little bit old-fashioned and nostalgic.

It reminded me of one single thing, unconditionally: a sweaty armpit that's had a sweet rose perfume sprayed on it :( I'm really sorry but I seriously got this impression and I think the culprit is cumin. Maybe that was the goal, to create that exact feel, and if so, it's successful. Still not wearable though. Tag(s): sweat, bo, cheap-feel

This is my take - Night is all about duality. Rosewater—innocent, fragile, and carries a nostalgia of childhood. Then the cumin arrives and dirties it up, introducing a human strength that stands in stark contrast to the rose’s delicacy. The tension between those two facets—the delicate and the strong—is what makes Night so grounding.

Im sorry but no... like what are you even taking about? Even sales associates cannot present this fragrance in a cool way. Someone once described this as the bridge between clean and dirty. What bridge??? This scent is a simple interpretation of getting molested by a sweaty, middle aged weirdo in the middle of a rose field.

Akro #8 – Your mileage may vary As i was reading through some of the reviews on Malt, i accidentally saw an impression that claimed Malt smells even more rancid then Night. That impression felt like a spoiler to me because i treat all new scents as movies i know more or less about but wish to discover for myself. Now that i got to smell Akro’s Night, i realised that nothing was spoiled for me because i sense nothing unpleasant or rancid as i did in Malt. Goes to show how different everyone’s perception is. I found Malt to be a nasty one whilst others found it pleasant. With Night, its the other way around. To my nose Night has a duality to it and i love duality in perfumes. This time we aren’t looking at the typical clean/dirty, nor a fresh/sweet kind of duality. Instead, Night showcases a vintage powdery accord coupled with a modern feminine sweetness. That is the duality of Night, the contrast between vintage and modern. It feels like sparkling aldehydes, like a sweetened, candied Chanel No. 5 worn in the evening. Think of a scene in a movie in which a beautiful woman wearing a pitch-black dress arrives at an elegant evening event. The scene is captured outside the building where the event is already unfolding. Her dress perfectly flows on her model-like hourglass figure and its adorned with diamond-like decorative rhinestones that sparkle and glissen as they reflect the light coming from the streetlamps. For some odd reason, there’s a vintage filter through which the film is shot and altho its heavy handedly used, you can easily tell that the movie is modern. All the elements present in the scene, from the cars, the buildings, the dress, hairstyle and even the makeup of the woman betray the fact that indeed its a modern movie only shot with a vintage filter. The feminine, almost bubblegummy sweetness represents the modern side whilst the powdery, aldehydic part harkens back to older styles of perfumery. I do not get the cumin or the oud hence why i sense absolutely nothing challenging in the scent. Im well aware that i am mostly noseblind to Oud and it would seem like its the case with Cumin as well. I get the rose if i focus hard enough but in actuality, it presents itself as the pink sweetness to my nose. I see the similarity to Putain de Palaces, only that one actually had a bit of a growling musk underneath, enough to fulfill the brief. Label me crazy, but in some ways im jealous of everyone else who can pick up on the challenging facets in Night. I don’t doubt the unpleasant impressions for one second because it wouldn’t be the first case where i see drastically different perceptions of the same perfume. That and the fact that too many people find it challenging so there is something to it for sure. As it is, to my nose the perfume hides nothing challenging or scary, quite the contrary. Its a beautiful evening scent for women.

Sadly no. Aweful b.o. of an unwashed and sweaty arm pit of a big man. Just pure stiky bad b.o. This is what a fat, busy contractor smells like, after a long 10 hour shift on his building site ( in full heat , and with no deo since morning ). no one wants this. ouch.

This is a foul and horrible smell. Smells just like sweat and ballsac but not in a musky way in a "haven't showered way."

This is my favorite perfume to read the reviews on, and that’s the only positive thing I have to say about it. I bought a mixed Akro sampler set and liked the first few scents I had tried, so I blind-sprayed this one, and immediately sprinted to the bathroom to scrub it off before it settled further into my skin/clothes (my dog started sneezing, too lol, and then I read some of these hilarious reviews and text them to my mom & sister). It is FOUL. I get strong sweat/BO, and then stale powder, like someone trying to cover up the vulgar scent of a high school wrestling mat. I feel like I’m pretty open-minded, but to the folks who enjoy this scent, y'all are diabolical!

My interest in this fragrance began when I read “inner thigh” in a Luckyscent description. I’m not sure that’s totally correct, but there is definitely a strong sense of 'fragrance' mixed with an amorous personal funk, and I adore it. The opening and early dry down are indeed cumin heavy, maybe the heaviest I’ve encountered, but the sense leans corporeal not culinary. I don’t understand why, but the effect both is and is not like BO. Perhaps that is because there is so much else happening. It reminds me of being in my early 20s, how I would smell my girlfriend’s shirts when she was away. It wasn’t gross; it was lovely and exciting and enthralling, and was the first time I associated that particular kind of scent with affection and desire. To me Night inhabits a territory shared with Rose 31 and Absolue Pour le Soir, although Night’s cumin load is much higher, at least initially, than in Rose 31, and it doesn’t have the honeyed sweetness of Absolue Pour le Soir. I was also immediately reminded of the strain of cumin I used to blush at in Malle’s Un Fleur de Cassie circa 2013. The longevity of Night is staggering, and the scent is an absolute dream as it lingers the next day. The cumin never really leaves, and if you do not enjoy that note, I suppose you will hate this.

Um, wow! First spray, i was inundated with rose! Then the cumin/saffron! Wow! That is definitely different! This is my first experience with cumin & saffron and I don’t know if it smells like chili or hot, sweaty sex. Wow! On Drydown, the rose becomes more muted and the cumin/saffron tones down a bit too and it becomes more of a powdery musky sweetness leaving the fragrance surprisingly wearable. Be careful though, this may attract the wrong type of attention or… not! I think i like it but its definitely not going to be for everyone !

My experience with Night has been quite interesting. Some time ago I bought two decants, one for my boyfriend and one for me, but while he loves rose scents I wasn't really mind blown by this fragrance, it simply delivered what I expected: a rose dirtied by cumin. Flash forward a couple of months, I'm going out one day and I'm really feeling a rose perfume, though I only own Night so I decided to be a little daring, it's not like anyone was going to notice. Two sprays from a small sample, it's the same rose I knew already except it quickly developed into this cloud of cumin and I realized just how vulgar this perfume is when my whole room smelled of panties. It's incredibly noticeable and it doesn't help that a rose scent isn't just a very feminine note, but also a common scent in feminine hygiene products. Shortly, it really is the smell of clean lady parts. Very interesting and original, I love it because it does what it says, but it's not a safe wear. I can't think of a time when I could wear it because unlike many perfumes considered "skanky" this one is way too shameless!

Wait! What? I'm so confused. This is what I thought after testing this blind then looking at what I was wearing all day. It opens with a somewhat strange combo of what comes across to me as a woody powdery pimento spice rosy thing. Dry, yes a bit dark, almost hickory smoky, vegetable spice element hanging around a baby rose garden or something. Sometimes it's agreeable. Sometimes it feels a bit disjointed. It gets more powdery, with a bit more than a moderate projection. I even caught asking myself mentally, “is that me smelling a little powder bomby?” while mid-conversation with someone else. Thus, I wasn't expecting Akro’s Night. Maybe Prescott, AZ, but not Night. I get what they're going for here, a dark warm rose with a spice element, but that cumin has gone sideways into super late cheap tacos, making for a somewhat unromantic ending to our evening. The rose isn't overly rosy (which is probably a good thing) but more of a neutral powder rose. It doesn't feel very sexy or appealing (two things I would think we would want a night to be about). Like a strong cowgirl/boy, this does put in a full day effort, being somewhat stubborn and makes itself known without shouting. That's all good, but its also says I'm a bit off-putting. I don't like you. Stay away from me. In other words this feels more like a Silent Wanderer. So, unless our night is meeting up in a ghost town in the southwest where tumbleweeds and rose bushes blow by to have angry sex or we whip our pistols out to duel after an argument in the saloon playing 5 card stud, this isn't a night I'm really wanting to have.

Night by Akro is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it fragrance, and I have to say the opening can be a bit challenging—it smells distinctly like old sweat at first, which caught me off guard. But if you push past that initial hit, it reveals a complex blend of cumin, rose, saffron, and oud that settles into a warm, animalic, and surprisingly cozy dry-down. The rose here is powdery and metallic, contrasting with the spicy and sweaty facets, making it feel raw and daring. Longevity is solid, around 7-8 hours, with moderate projection that starts noticeable but becomes intimate later. Night feels like a scent for those who want something bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically edgy. If you like fragrances that tell a story of a wild, sweaty night out and aren’t afraid of polarizing notes, this one stands out.

Because I really liked Smoke (surprising as I do not enjoy tobacco note in general in perfumes), Ink, Dark this was a blind buy as I found the reviews talking about skanky part somewhat similar in description to Musks Koublai Khan. However, this turned out to be overwhelmingly cumin and nothing more whatsoever. Too much cumin spoiled this for me. No skank or sexyness just some spice that's regularly used and always there in my kitchen. Meh

I got this in a Discovery set and thought I was crazy for thinking it smelled like some man's sweat, but apparently I'm not the only one! It does have some nice floral notes, but it's as if someone with slightly heavier body odour sprayed on the perfume in the morning and then this is how they smell like after 12h and a full day at their corporate job at an office where the temperature was too warm most of the day. I had to wash it off immediately.

Despite the name "Night" it reads as a daytime sport perfume for a tennis player or something. On my skin it smells like cheap women's deodorant. Am I crazy? I don't particularly enjoy it. Very baby-powder-y and the cumin here is hardly even noticeable. I wonder if my skin chemistry is completely flattening this scent. It is weak and I go noseblind to it within 30 minutes. It must be my skin. On a tissue paper, it smells more like this weird cheese smell mixed with powder and artificial berry syrup. Complete and utter absence of the notes I expected from this. Oops! It's all Secret Powder Fresh deodorant. I expected something like Experimentum Crucis. What a letdown.

If I had only read the reviews here, I would have never tried this perfume. I recently bought a bottle after using up my sample. I adore this one! To me, or on my skin, it smells like I just had a rose scented, cozy bubble bath. It also reminds me of Baby Grace by Philosophy which is a favorite of mine. I get clean, soapy, slightly sweet vibes from it. I will be cautious wearing it out though since so many others only smelled sweat. I don’t want anyone getting a whiff and thinking I stink from bad hygiene, ha ha!

I think it must be that certain batches are different, like a previous commenter said. People are saying skank, taint, BO...all I'm getting is baby powder. Maybe a slightly sweaty baby powder but certainly not offensive.

This straight up smells like I haven’t showered in two days and decided to swipe my fingers around my own sweaty balls surroundings. You know what I mean — that space between the boys and the backdoor. Now, here's the thing: we all kinda accept our own funk, right? There's a weird comfort in it. But this scent? This doesn’t smell like me. This smells like I’m catching a full whiff of someone else’s ( a man, not a women) genitals part. Like, in comparison, I smelled Sadonaso and then this. Sadonaso is ten thousands more comfortable and wearable. Imagine that.
