Century

It's been said a few times here. It's a sleeper. I bought it in 2019, wasn't really impressed by it, it slid to the back of my collection, I've probably worn it three times since I bought it. It's a hot spring day here in London 2026, I put it on earlier today and started to really respect it. It's, Lemon, Neroli some herbaceous elements but it super fresh and clean, my wife just asked to wear it, which is normally a good sign. I'm off to Cannes next week for a work conference and this fragrance will be coming with me, I couldn't think of a better companion.

This is my signature scent and if i had a choice to pick one scent and call it a day forever this would be it. Sometimes you don't try stuff because it didn't get attention and you accidently come across something like this and your mind is blown. Basically its a more transparent airy and less thick version of Icon and I love it that grape soda vibe.

Smells like a nice stack of fresh laundry . Has a slight touch of Santal 33 in the opening without the pickle thing but takes a completely different route after the opening . I would say it’s a nice, airy fragrance . 8/10 for me . Very unique

It's a so-so Santal33 wannabe with some neroli. OK at best

I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and I am heading to Australia for a few weeks to see family. Heading from our winter to their summer and I opened my last box of this tonight. Even though it’s chilly and rainy here, I decided to spray it on just to have a smell, since I have not worn this since 2021 summer? I think anyway. I’ve had this for a few years sitting in my walk-in in the dark. Never too warm and never too cold. Let me just say that this right here is the most original and artistic summer freshie ever made. I would never say the best, but it’s definitely a standout. I have 373 fragrances and not one smells like this. Mine has macerated for a few years, which can go badly with freshies, but not with this one. I sprayed two shots and within a minute or so my wife, who was on the other side of the house (5,000 sq ft) in the kitchen making coffee said, “Whatever that is it smells beautiful.” That’s it. I’ll probably come home after a few weeks and it will go back into the darkness for another time. I can see why it was discontinued. It is not a mainstream market item, but it is amazing at what it does. 😉

D'ORSAY À cœur perdu. L.B. (2023) reminds me a bit of Dunhill Century, but with iris. They are not perfect matches, but my nose came up with the similarity immediately, to the point that I double-checked the label on the bottle.

Hi I got a sample of this and the fragrance literally blew me away. it’s perfect for me. I loved it. Since it’s discontinued, I can’t find it anywhere in the market. I checked many shops but didn’t get it. Can anyone tell me which fragrance is similar to this so I can get the same kind of smell?

(Review of 135ml Bottle) This fragrance is quite deceptive - one might see the simple scent pyramid and believe it to be a more easygoing clean neroli type scent. But bizarrely, I could only describe this fragrance as "aggressively fresh" and... I really, really love it. It's kind of impossible to describe, but on my skin, this thing PROJECTS like no tomorrow. It opens with all those citrusy fresh notes - I could really pick out the lemon and fresh, sweet juice from the mandarin - which very quickly explodes into neroli. It is quite fierce, which was expected given that neroli tends to overpower a lot of blends in other fragrances it seems, especially for myself. The rest of the notes ALL take a backseat to that accord, offering a more supportive role in the blend here. Earlier on, you get these nice whiffs of a spiced frankincense in the shade of the monolithic neroli, adopting an otherworldly quality to it. Then once that dry down starts to take shape, you are hit with another colossal right hook of an element... that cypriol oil. The neroli and cypriol somehow manage to blend into each other smoothly despite being such colossal titans on my skin; to which they are suddenly joined by a really pleasant, nutty sandalwood. That sandalwood stays for the rest of the scent's longevity alongside that frankincense. What a shockingly punchy fragrance. It's this crystal clear cloud of earthy, white floral glory with a healthy dose of sandalwood to keep it from being so overwhelming. That cypriol oil brings so much clarity somehow, like it just cuts though the air like butter and heads straight to my nose to open it up for all that beautiful neroli goodness. It pulls that cloud back down into a flower bed cemented in loamy earth, ready to embrace some of that fresh dirt. But only a touch of it... just enough. An obvious winner for me - I will say that this doesn't last as long as I wish on me, it does phase out around the six and a half hour mark, but after that point you're left with some more delicate cypriol and sandalwood. The projection on this thing is remarkable on my skin, just absolutely strong as hell for this kind of scent. I see online that this one appears to be discontinued; I got mine secondhand, courtesy of my brother, so I am curious if the scent was able to macerate for a bit before I got my hands on it. If you're interested in this guy, find it now before it blows up in price! A vivid neroli and cypriol bomb with an awesome sandalwood backbone. "Aggressively fresh" was too perfect for describing it.

Whoever said it smelled like shoebox, he is actually correct, but in a classy fresh scent. Its not something negative to describe.

At first, it seemed interesting and original — green and spicy. But over time, that typical Dunhill helplessness showed through, along with a sense of something unfinished. There’s really not much to talk about here.

So bad. Someone said it smells like a shoebox and it’s exactly that but more offensive. Who wants to smell like a shoe factory. Worst blind buy yet even for £30. Also smells like vegetables.

Sandalwood done right, no pickle smell.

It’s hard for me to describe this perfume because, even though I can see how fantastic it can be, I can’t stand it. The olibanum and cypriol oil are too much. The neroli brightens a bit the duo but they overtake the whole perfume. Imagine a closet full of brand new leather shoes just out of the boxes. The freshness in Century isn’t casual or relaxed.

More powdery than soapy. I prefer Prada Amber or L'Homme L'Eau for this purpose.

This one is a sleeper. Remember OutKast’s hit, So Fresh, So Clean? That’s how I feel when I wear this fragrance to the office. Clean, fresh, bright, and vivid. Good lasting power and a wonderful compliment to a smart casual wardrobe. Can also be worn with a white tee and shorts in the summer. Versatile, especially indoors. Received two compliments from a younger and mature colleagues. Discontinued but can be found on eBay - although, it’s getting hard to find.

To me, it's a masterpiece of modern parfumery. Neroli and Sandalwood are the 2 most discernable notes, while they're both very different they create together a beautiful symbiosis here : it's soapy, clean and on the other hand there is this earthy, almost vegetal, smell going through. May sound weird, but it gives me the feeling of being in a luxurious hotel lobby in the savanna.

I finally got a bottle of this discontinued gem on the second-hand market, some 4 or 5 years after I first used up a 2ml sample! It has kind of haunted me ever since, so it's very satisfying to realise that scent memory now. This is a very likeable, wearable scent, but at the same time it's built around a fairly odd accord. It feels like a bright yellow ray, squeaky clean and sunny. It has aspects of laundry-like freshness, and is underpinned by a sharp, shiny sandalwood. EDIT: I'm wearing this on a crisp autumn day and it's so good. Fresh and Sharp work juicy mandarin in the opening, bit underlined by a warm spicy sandalwood. There's something futuristic about it. It's uplifting, it's presentable, it's inoffensive but it has a uniqueness. I think I am going to start using this as my work fragrance every day. It doesn't seem to be long lasting on me, although I will happily re-apply at lunch time, just to go back to the sparkling, citrussy opening.

The neroli is present from the beginning, but it’s not as sweet / citrusy as some of the other neroli scents that I like. There is a natural and green smell as well, reminiscent to me of some of the Adolfo Dominguez frags. And then I wonder if this indeed smells like a natural African forest or if it smells like weird plastic.

Opens very citric and green. It quickly becomes spicy woody on a stunning background of lentisque and olibanum! Soapy and airy, yet unique and very artistic! The container is a masterpiece itself!

Century is my second Dunhill after Icon. They are different enough to own both. Century was my daily casual Fragrance. It´s light, fresh and woody. 135 ml for 25 € hey i could use it whenever i want. My wife doesnt like Parfums but she like this one because she say it is smelling like acacia flowers. Edit 030825 and 23.04.26 Now i could find and buy 4 x 135 ml in Holiday from Türkiye for around 4 x 30€.

Cardamom full in with a hint of sandalwood. Getting better and better !

Now that it's discontinued, people are going to be alllllllllllll over this one when the supply dries up, mainly because out of my entire massive collection I can't think of anything that truly smells like it. It's already up into the $60 neighborhood - it'll be in the hundreds in a few years. Get it while you can!

That's exact, one of the greatest dry down of all time, and I'm the second one in this thread who's telling that without joking !

This is under rated. If your going to a business meeting this is serious sharp and focused. If someone smells this they know your not there to mess about. Its fresh and distinct. Def not for under 30's. More on the mature side. Buy this as a gift for your granddaddy or pappy :)

Smells like a new pair of dress shoes! Or a shoe box…and my nose cant get over that note ..definite pass

It has a pleasant clean citrus and white floral opening, similar to Neroli Portofino. Then, it drys down to a creamy sweet sandalwood, cardamom, with hints of resin. Great scent and dna

People, this fragrance contains a library's worth of papyrus, and I'm not convinced I can handle it. The opening is refreshing with bright citruses, but too soon the cypriol elbows its way into the room to take over. The dry down leaves you with a fresh sweetness competing with the nagarmotha for attention. The musk is smooth and the sandalwood is missing. I say smooth as opposed to the harsh, angularly synthetic musks commonly found in something like Dylan Blue. Buy Century if you like papyrus. A lot. Personally I'm not sure I like it enough.

Great Icon cousin(but not smelling similar), clean, crisp, woodsy and classy. Opens a bit fresh tangy citrusy and a neroli introduction. The dominant note is the cypriol which projects spicy, earthy, woody (papyrus) and continues into the dry-down where it combines with a smooth sandalwood. It's a clean cut, stylish, unique character that is airy and very versatile. Minimalistic understated elegance, suits any occasions and good as a signature scent as well. Performance is on the softer side, but with a nice bubble and occasional whiffs that stay around for quite a while, longevity is medium. Great value and like it's cousin underestimated, imho. Try it.

Dunhill Century has some similarities to well known stalwarts (santal 33) and at first sniff may come off a bit uninspired, or generic laundry clean. However! I think it's actually a brilliant daily driver that has some standout elements that actually make it unique enough to appeal to the general public and the fragrance obsessed alike. It opens fresh and clean clean (hence the laundry comparisons) but with a unique neroli note which differentiates. Neroli reads as a chalky (not powdery) citrus to me, and blends well with the heart and base notes to come. The neroli gives the open a slight classic 4711 feel, but with more oomph behind it with the base notes. The mid and dry down are where this really shines, as the cardamom, gentle olibanum, sandalwood (most dominant note imo), and most importantly, the cypriol, dominate the rest of the show. The sandalwood is very similar to the one found in Santal 33, Cremo Palo Santo and all the other dupes around. What sets it apart and made this a buy for me is the cypriol note. It lends an earthiness that I just really love, lurking under the fresher top notes, and clean musk. It really accentuates the sandalwood and cardamom in a way I just think it simple and brilliant. Sadly this got discontinued, as this would be a no-brainer at the prices I was seeing a year ago, but can still be found hovering under $50, which is still a bargain. Performance is not quite as bombastic as Santal 33, but this serves the gentlemanly nature of Dunhill Century well.
