This is a strong, jasmine-forward floral accompanied by light, uplifting citrus notes and a woody-amber base. Projection and sillage of the white florals die down after about 3 hours and the peppery vetiver and sandalwood become more noticeable. Honestly I love wearing this one to the office.

Often over looked: Alfred Sung makes nice cheapies! I got a vintage bottle of this (the fluid is urine/beer color) so I have no clue about new bottles. As others have said- this is a BIG sunny fragrance (orange is very pronounced here) . Great for Easter into Summer. The dry down is nice and this has a "vintage vibe" where it's like YOU pick what vintage you want it to be. This can feel "1980s" or "1950s". If you see this as Marshalls or T.J. Crapraxx for $20.00 take a blind chance . I also love Alfred Sung PURE !

Beautiful, citrusy jasmine with huge longevity BUT stay away if you suffer from migraines and/or vertigo. It may cause a flare-up.

my mother got me a bottle of when i turned thirteen and it was strooooong. really intense, even after the dry down, definitely unsuitable for a spritz-happy teenager. luckily for me, the spritzing mechanism broke after a month or two, but the perfume has taken on this neon orange dehydrated piss color over the past five years? not even a normal orange perfume color it’s like opaque pee.

Love the florals. A bit of woods, a bit of soap, a bit of powder. Couldn’t stop sniffing my arm. What a vintage beauty!

A real beauty! Definitely a favorite. Sunny. Vintage without smelling dated. Wonderful hyacinth note and complimentary citrus. Ylang-ylang! Nothing is out of place or competing. Beautifully blended florals--a little spicy, a little powdery, a bit green. The base notes come in and the whole thing is just really sophisticated and exuberant. A strong perfume that lasts. I have a newer formulation and imagine the vintage would be just as enjoyable.

This perfume was MY perfume, the One that makes me feel like the real me when wearing it, a true perfume love. I first discovered it at 18 , on the plane going to Canada, to visit relatives. I wore it for many years and it was my signature scent. I 'm so sad it's discontinued. I still have a bottle or two that I only wear for extra special days. It is floral to the max and zesty at first, but in the dry down the Jasmine, YlangYlang and oak moss simmer, producing a confidence boosting, sexy and womanly aroma. Here in Ireland it wasn't well known and still to this day get compliments whenever I wear it.

To summarize this fragrance overall, it is a 1980s "chypre," except substitute hyacinth and white florals in the mid for the usual resins in classic chypre fragrances. For me the two most dominant notes are hyacyinth and oak moss. I was around to purchase this in the 1990s, after it had been on the market for several years. It was lovely then and is still lovely now. If you are looking to try something other than the umpteenth sweet/vanilla fragrance (gasp!), this one is easy on the budget. 🦋🧡🦋

Think big hair, shoulder pads, and unapologetically floral confidence. It opens with a citrus blast and a wall of hyacinth that doesn’t ask for permission. Then it blooms into a garden party hosted by your mom’s most glamorous friend from the ’80s. Aldehydes, jasmine, and sandalwood each fight for attention. It’s screechy, sweet, powdery, and bold. Definitely not a whisper of a scent. If you love vintage vibes and don’t mind a little drama, this one delivers.

For me it sins of classic and vanguardist, clearly 90s ... To my nose it is far away from Anais-Anais and very closer of Amarige, Joop femme classic and the first Gabriela Sabatini ... In my country it is in a vintage perfume s store yet.

Ah, yes this one is a classic I remember on grown women when I was a child. It definitely fits into the same category as vintage Giorgio, Joy, and Estee. I got a vintage EDT on a swap and this stuff is still powerful! Strong aldehydes and sweet florals. Beautiful, in a retro vibe. I think it held up okay with oxidization; I still get the top notes and they haven't gone sour. This is one everyone should smell if you can find a cheap bottle. Tease your hair, feather it, aquanet it, spray this stuff on and throw on a vinyl mini with heels and you're set!

This is the SWEETEST perfume I own. Happily it can be found at thrift stores and yard sales ! I am looking to hunt down a vintage bottle when I can. It reminds me of Georgio a bit . I like the built in sprayer but it's a bit snug on my fat fingers .

This Canadian fragrance has captured my heart. I have the modern version of Sung and it’s still very wearable (and affordable) especially if you’re into strictly floral/aldehyde classic feminine fragrances. It was created in 1986 and I’m sure the original is beast mode in comparison but the longevity of mine lasts for a few hours on skin (longer on fabric) and that’s after spraying 20 times. Even after my excessive 20 sprays, no one around me has ever mentioned my fragrance - so the sillage only radiates at a close proximity. So what does it smell like? Sung initially reminds me of JOY as it’s so light, translucent and soaring due to the aldehydes (with lily-of-the-valley being the dominant floral). The top notes sparkle with luminous citruses and yellowed sun-drenched florals from ylang-ylang, galbanum and hyacinth. The heart offers osmanthus, jasmine, iris and lily-of-the valley. The base contains vanilla but it’s not apparent at all as this isn’t a warm fragrance - Sung is it’s more along the lines on No.19 from the sandalwood, amber and vetiver. To summarise, Sung is a predominantly floral fragrance with woody and green nuances of No.19 but crossed with the luscious translucent white/yellow florals of JOY just with boosted lily-of-the-valley. Sung is NOT soapy/spicy or herbaceous as Oscar De La Renta. It’s not as piercingly white as White Diamonds, L’Air Du Temps, First or Red Door. Sung is a sparkling champagne of white and yellow florals that feels light like a sheer veil. I love Sung and picked it up a tester bottle for $25 CAD for 100ml at a discount perfume store and use it liberally as my summertime scent, I just wished it lasted longer.

I usually like somewhat "dated" or old-fashioned smells, and I do like the "musk" element of this. However (and I'm not sure if it's due to my olfactory nerve damage from Covid) upon the first spray, I get the smell of a skunky bong! After it sits on the skin for a while it smells pleasant enough though. Definitely floral, definitely long lasting. I think I will be gifting this one to my mother.

Is it possible for a fragrance to be floral, sweet, fruity, clean and powdery all at the same time ?? The initial spray will make you pause, but wait for it…the dry down is a beautifully blended masterpiece. The price is a steal ! This has a comforting scent that I suspect will stay in your core memory forever. It’s one of those scents that tickles the happiest part of your brain. You know the scent…that pretty teacher you loved, the one who when she would lean down to help you with your work left a scent trail around you. Or the fancy carefree aunt you adored, your mother’s hug when she’d get all dressed up for something special, the popular girl in high school who was rich and pretty but also really really nice. This fragrance is both vintage and modern, great for daily wear and could easily be a signature scent. This is for the person who truly appreciates fragrance. I originally purchased this for my 18 year old daughter, but after opening it I knew I needed to order several more bottles. The scent hit me before I even took off the outer wrapper. I sprayed it in the air, and my goodness….love ! (it sprays wonderfully btw) I tapped the excess onto the back of my hand and have been sniffing on myself for hours. I plan to gift this bottle to my 80yr old mom for Mother’s Day, and also gift another bottle to my 18 yr old daughter for her birthday…and I never do this BUT I will also be purchasing a bottle for myself. I am a stern believer in not owning fragrances that I gift to other people, nor do I gift the same fragrance to multiple people, but this just smells too lovely not to share. This is a fragrance that I would get excited about wearing. I’d plan my entire outfit around this gem. Day, night, and every season is when I’d suggest wearing it. I love when I find a fragrance that excites me.

This is such stunningly elegant white floral!I immediately recognized this scent as one I had smelled many times back in the day on many classy elegant women. I never knew what it was. It is a bit potent at first but soon after, it is divine!! You only need a couple of sprays, much like the scents from this era. The dry down is gorgeous! The hiacynth is the star of this show, making it perfect for the spring time! I can’t believe I haven’t owned this before! This is right up my alley!!!

Wow!! An oldie. I wore this many years ago. I need to revisit it. Easter in a bottle. Hyacinth is one of my favorite springtime scents. I remember going to church on Easter Sunday as a child, all dressed up and after the mass they would sell hyacinth and lily plants outside of church. This perfume reminds me of those beautiful memories. A lush, white floral with hyacinth, lily of the valley and jasmine. I love it!

Very shocked that I kinda like this. Waaay too many flowers for my usual tastes. But there is something about it that overcomes my hesitation. It is for a powerful mood, or if you need some help feeding like you have arrived. A female boss who is classy, sorta brassy and also smart would wear this.

This scent reminds me of a blend of Giorgio and Liz Claiborne, but not as sweet and with slightly more defined floral notes. There’s also a phase at the very beginning that smells a bit like hairspray. Best of all, it doesn’t have that horrible bitter bug spray-like accord in the base notes, either! It’s also a very long lasting scent with five or six sprays lasting well over twelve hours, although it becomes a skin scent after about ten. While this isn’t a love, I do really like this scent and want to try it again in warmer weather when I suspect that the floral notes will be more prominent.

I got a vintage bottle of Sung thrown in with a lot of dusty vintages someone was selling for a song, and I am pretty impressed. If it didn't have such a complex ambery, mossy, woody base, and the spice of carnation, and the bouquet of citruses, the white florals would be too much for me, because I don't love hyacinth or orchid. But I do love osmanthus and ylang ylang, which give a hint of exotic sweetness. This strikes me as a refined scent with a very individual character.

I love this fragrance. I adore the opening and the dry down is lovely and warm.

Beautiful fragrance. During Covid, I, like many other Fragrantica-philes, purchased numerous perfumes based on whatever note I was obsessed with at the time. I explored any hyacinth frags including a vintage Avon fragrance. This big one opens up with the blast of hyacinth, and evolves into something else. While the hyacinth stays prominent, the spices and galbanum come out. Note: This is a cool/cold fragrance. While the spices are present, they are not warm. As a huge and long-time fan of Chanel 19, I prefer the cooler scents to warmer ones during warm weather days (which are plentiful in California, where I live). The comparison to Georgio and many others are inaccurate because of the coolness and lack of the over abundance of while floral. This one dries down to a floral light version of lair du temps due to the spice and carnation. Look for the vintage bottles, the fragrance is intact and true to the vision of the maker. 8/10

Estate sale . Older bottle. Pretty and pretty potent! It reminds me of Pure which I owned years ago. This would be a great gift to a young person as a "first perfume" . Or a gift to yourself to feel young again. This is making me want to investigate MORE Alfred Sung fragrances. Happy I found this . Very carefree smell. Kinda like Georgio of Beverly Hills , but not as tacky. More AIRY.

Vintage floral beauty. Loud. Slightly soapy, slightly fresh. Like a bold fresh. Smells vintage, but not in a bad way. Giorgio vibes 100%. Dirt cheap.

There is something in it that reminds me of the brutal strong cleaner used in an old folks home. One of the only fragrances I've smelled that I actively hate.

I have had several bottles of Sung Alfred Sung since the 90's. I remember once in a college French class, a girl sat next to me and put me in a metaphorical full headlock with her perfume. It was a floral hairspray attack on my personal space. Somewhat flabbergasted at her gumption to wear such a thing to a small room with 50 people in it, I asked her what it was and she told me it was Sung. Despite it being way too much, I immediately went and bought a bottle. It was so over-the-top that I wanted to own it. To me, Sung is a perfume to own and not really to wear. I will occasionally spray it in the air and just allow it to waft through the house. One spray lasts for hours on end. Sung by Alfred Sung is perfume chutzpah in a bottle. It is Crystal Carrington and Sue Ellen Ewing in sequins at the Oil Barron's Ball fighting over the champagne fountain with their beaded clutch bags. It is all woman and though I have little opportunity to make such a bold statement, I have nothing but respect for the woman that dares to wear this one. She's bold!

I grew up on this scent. It was and still is my mom's signature perfume. It is a spicy, yet super clean scent with incredibly strong floral notes. Strong, but not overwhelming. Every time I open my mom's purse I can smell it. It's super long lasting and throughout the day you get a warmer scent from it. Definitely takes me down memory lane.
