Dia Man

Dia Man is easily the brand's most mass-appealing offering, with a fresh, woody, slightly fruity and floral-soapy scent that is pure, mature, gentlemanly class; it smells classic but doesn't feel dated at all - it's timeless. It is highly versatile, making it the perfect choice for the office, any season, any setting, or any occasion. Tragically, the performance is a total letdown! Even if you overspray, it quickly becomes a very intimate scent that completely vanishes from both skin and clothes after only 30 to 45 minutes, which is a heartbreaking shame because the fragrance itself is absolutely stunning (no exaggeration).

Beautiful and complex fragrance. The dry down reminds me of Opus 1144 by Filippo Sorcinelli, which I have. Sadly on my skin lasts around four hours. I'm still in consideration, because it's fantastic.

I don’t how it took me so long to discover this gem. This is an astonishingly beautiful masculine scent. I will be purchasing a bottle ASAP. There is so much to address with this one, but I don’t have the time to write the essay that it would require.

Wow this is a romantic scent. I was a little put off by the florals - if I go for a fragrance with florals it's usually geranium or carnation, definitely not peony! But something about this works oh so well. Maybe the amber and a bit of skank from the patchouli. I feel like Zorro would wear this, shirt half unbuttoned, billowing in an evening breeze. Top notch juice. Overall: 9/10.

If you like Antaeus, Platinum Egoiste etc. this might be for you. I think the original Tom Ford Noir is better for this genre but too bad for the performance.

I had been wondering whether to purchase this fragrance for a number of years now. I had a sample many years ago and I was captivated by it. Time went by and other fragrances were purchased ahead of it. I finally got this yesterday. I am in love with its subtlety, it is self assured and by no means imposing. It whispers and does not shout. For me it brings a sense of calm. I appreciate many will not want to pay the price tag for such a quiet fragrance. But in a world where people go a little crazy over wanting a Beast mode projecting monster of a fragrance. Sometimes something as beautiful and elegant as this is the perfect antidote. Gentlemanly, timeless, classic!

Ive tried reflection, ciel, jubilation and many other scents from Amouage but this one takes the cake for sure... Its very sexy for all weather and situations type of fragrance. The first time i sprayed it i literally had a nose-gasm. I was wanting to buy jubilation again but my perfume guy suggested this and i am ever so grateful! Its definitely an easy signature scent. 30/10!

Middle-eastern fabric softener. This is almost a counterpart to Reflection Man, an alternative if you will. Both are clean masculine florals and both do it very well in different ways. Very easy to wear and signature-scentable.

Amouage signature incense mixed with florals, spices, fruits, and some dark woods. Smells somewhat fruity and soapy, reminds me a lot of Jubilation XXV. Upon first smell I could tell its an Amouage. Very high quality. This is incredibly well blended. Manages to take peony and give it a dark and masculine twist.

Molasses+oak barrel+peony+nutty maple syrup. Delectable 😋

Wearing this after having not worn it for 3 years. Very nice scent. The plum, bitter orange amber mix gives it a slight cardmom cola vibe. Soapy in a way like the person below me mentioned. The quality is great. It's probably one of the least exciting amongst the old guard of Amouage, but still a lot better quality and craftsmanship wise than what they're putting out today, which are loaded with amber fixitives. Dia man is simply one of the best way to synthesize the smell of a great soap, Bertrand had mastered here the perfect mainstream way to make a perfect combination and timing of how a “soap” that stays strong and balanced for a man should smell. This isn’t downplaying his work, but is actually impressive how he found the formula, I had the luck to smell a lot of soaps in high end hotels, most of 4 stars gives you some great soap for shower, and this is essentially taking that and making it a scent that last for a good first burst and later becomes the foam of that soap. Works well if you love clean and gentle fragrance that will make anyone simply wonder if you arrived showered from the street to wherever you are going in the last 10 minutes. This make me wonder how Sartorial it is from him, this was a home run even if I don’t care to owning it, there is a note that I don’t like and makes the entire composition worthless to me wich is probably the Orris Rooth, feels like a wet cloth dirty of alchool, As much as I like it and I see the beauty of this work, I think that owning Reflection man make Dia redundant for me, they are brothers. Either way, this is one of the best " luxury soap" smells for man out there, and one of the most accessible works from their old catalog. Golden Soap

Favorite fragrance that utilizes rock rose. Crazy note list note I’d typically avoid but works beautifully. Surprisingly versatile , too. One of the few I’ve sampled that live rent free in my head.

This was a true blind buy for me and I’m so glad I went for it. The notes are incredible together and I definitely pick up the warm amber and incense vibes. Not a beast mode shouty type of fragrance, rather a quietly confident fragrance with a slightly vintage feel.

Easily one of my favorite Amouage fragrances. A bit like wearing some rosewood deodorant, because there’s something fresh and very masculine about it

I only regret discovering this gem so late in my fragrance journey. Dia is, without a doubt, is a sophisticated and complex scents. It manages to be incredibly versatile, while it’s my absolute go-to for the office, meetings, and business trips, it feels just as right for a quiet day at home. It carries an air of professional "seriousness" while remaining completely inoffensive to those around you. What I love most is that Dia doesn't scream for attention, it doesn't impose itself on the room. Instead, it subtly supports and enhances the wearer's personality. It is elegant, airy, and exceptionally beautiful. A true staple for anyone who values understated luxury. I love it!

This is one of my favorite smelling fragrances, but the longevity and projection is not great. Wouldn’t mind the weaker projection if it lasted longer. For that reason, I think money would be better spent on a different amouage fragrance.

Congratulations UK-rain! Sounds like you have the older release of the Dia Man. White caps used to be non-magnetic and usually more flimsy compared to magnetic caps of newer batches. When it comes to Amouage, if stored properly, older batches are always better, in my opinion. More rich and opulent smell with more nuances. Enjoy your wonderful fragrance.

Can anyone advise me ? : I have a tester bottle. On the base is written Dia Man, but the cap is white, (in the old style of cap). Is this the same fragrance as pictured above ? Thanks for your help.

Does in fact smell super similar to Roja L'Oscar which makes me wonder how there is no sandalwood listed here. To me it's the dominant scent in this fragrance - it has that classic men's sandalwood scent profile ala Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood etc. Performance on my first wear seemed about the same intimate level as everyone else is reporting, but I'm wearing it a second time and finding that it's projecting quite a bit - actually kind of concerned I overdid it at 7 sprays.

Similar to other Duchafour works (Reasons, Jubilation, and maybe even Dzonkha) they grab your attention with an warm and fuzzy opening scene. Then, like a Russian doll, the layers peel back and reveal an engaging, thought provoking story. In this sense some of his work is similar to designer fragrances which have to grab the customer at the counter with the opening sequence. However in the case of Dia, the dry down is nothing short of magic. PS: Has anyone else caught a resemblance to Sycomore?

Mmmmm it’s gorgeous. Soft but gorgeous

Hard to find a comparable fragrance. The suggestion above about Sycomore caught me as a stretch at first. Then I thought yes there is some distant triangulation between Dia, Sycomore and Fille en Aiguilles.

A quiet masterpiece that, to me, is elegance without noise. The opening incense and bitter orange glow with restraint; cardamom hums softly beneath. Then comes the magic for me: a refined floral heart of peony (as a man, I love it) and orris brushed with plum, giving it a silken, almost tailored smoothness. It smells like a crisp white shirt under a perfectly cut jacket. Clean, composed, impossibly refined. For work etc, a gentleman’s signature for winter and fall and colder spring days.

Have a sample…Soapy and floral up front, dry and woodsy at the end. Very masculine and I like it, but w-a-a-y overpriced

Clean elegant floral masculine.

The floral opening of peony mixed with earthy vetiver makes this scent extremely inviting. Plus softens the blend, making it almost creamy without weighing it down. Most definitely one of the easiest Amouage fragrances to wear, it strays away from the heavy Amouage formula. The incense is there, but same as with plum, it doesn't weigh the blend down, it just exists there making the floral and ambery notes more prominent. Unfortunately, as it strays away from the usual Amouage formula, it also strays away from the nuclear performance, making it one of the weakest Amouage fragrances out there. Some might look at it as a positive; there are people who dislike nuclear performance and prefer something more subtle, which is completely understandable and if you're one of these people, then Dia Man is most definitely for you. I could see it as an everyday scent throughout the entire year, with the exception of winter, the low temperature will kill the vibe of this fragrance. I'd give it a solid 9 if not for the performance, as of right now it's a strong 7,5/10 in my book, good entry fragrance for people who'd like to familiarize themselves with Amouages and don't won't to start with something too powerful.

I would have never expected such an ‘oh wow, this is refreshing’ type of fragrance from Amouage. 🙂 By refreshing, I don’t mean fresh in the traditional sense, but rather something that doesn’t tire the nose — comfortable, easygoing, and suitable for any setting. If you live in a Mediterranean country, it’s pleasant enough to wear all year round. It still carries a hint of the brand’s signature DNA. I liked it, but it didn’t impress me. Unfortunately, the performance is very weak, which is something I really didn’t expect from Amouage
