Guidance 46

I am working off of a sample here, but the first whiff made me gag. I guess I can understand why people like this. I really do like the almond note in here. I can make out a slight scent of marzipan. But overall it smells like slightly rotten flowers and fruit. Something past ripe and not at all fresh. This is in the same category as Soie Malaquais for me. Hyped to no end and fairly repulsive.

Amouage's Guidance 46 by Perfumer Quentin Bisch is an improvement on the OG Guidance. This just doesn't wow me unfortunately. As much as I enjoy Amouage fragrances and appreciate Bisch's artistry, this just felt like it was lacking. As I stated on my review of Guidance, I've yet to come across a rose fragrance that truly suits me. Impadia from BDK Parfums is more appealing to my nose but as I said previously in my Guidance review, im still looking for that one rose fragrance to rule them all.

Been rocking this gem for about 2 weeks with great staying power and exotic smelling feeling like a regal bad ass queen, I imagine this is what Nefertiti or Catherine the Great smelled like! I typically wear more oud woodsy scents but I can rock with this one…. 10/10

I gotta be honest, i thought I would like this more. I LOVE guidance and was envisioning this as a 'better' version...especially for $550. But after scouring the internet for the cheapest options for a sample, and spending like $20 min on a 2ml sample...i smelled it and was like "yeah thats guidance". Full disclosure I have also sampled basically EVERY dupe or similar perfume available. BUT, theres something to be said about those dupes being able to scratch the same itch as something $550. (FYI hands down my favorite dupe is the oil perfumery version or Decadent Dream)

I'm not really convinced this is "better" than the EdP. If you're looking for a rose + almond fragrance, you'll find G46 more to your liking, it's definitely smoothed out all the edges of the EdP. But at the same time, it has taken out all the character that made the OG the relentless sensation it's been for the last 3 years. First and foremost, G46 buries the unique combination of the original pear + hazelnut under deep florals/rose & almond. It also takes out all the texture of the OG and the satisfying tension between the notes and the Akigalawood in the base, perhaps in hope to make it a universally palatable scent profile and eliminate the "divisiveness" of the OG. So, we're now left with a designer-esque composition that's not even that unique as the rose + almond combo is a staple of the niche perfumery and has been done so many times over. Maybe it was also Amouage's trick to get you to buy the better and cheaper Guidance all over again! :)) Also, as subjective as it is, I personally find G46 leaning more traditionally feminine than the OG.

Worth every penny and this is what i expect from a perfume for this price… projection, sillage and uniqueness! A whole year of owning and loving this, I still can’t get enough!

Probably the best feminine fragrance I've ever smelt, it's a great blend of rose and hazelnut its sweet and sexy.

This perfume is not my style. So take this with a grain of salt. I like smelling feminine and sweet, soft floral, cozy, slightly woody, and fresh. While this perfume may claim to be most of those, it comes off to spicy and peppery to my nose. It does get tons of compliments, everyone else loves it on me, but I dont enjoy it. Not blind buy safe, and I've noticed you either love it or hate it. I want to love it but my nose won't let me! Very strong though, 2 sprays lasts 7 hours on skin and over 24 hours on clothes!

i dont see a difference between this and the OG. Scent is almost identical. Very, very unique and beautiful perfume. Woody, sweet, nutty, but an elegant blend - none of the notes overpower and you cannot guess what exactly it smells like. 10/10! But for the price, go for the OG!

sexy, inviting, rich, opulent, incredibly deep…a magnetic presence sweet almond accord woven into the composition is what truly won me over. Holy shit what’s in this stuff?! I sprayed this on a card which I brought home with me and this scent is overtaking my entire house. I’m not complaining though. On paper, it’s a headache inducing chemical soup, but it smells a lot nicer in the air, where it comes across as a pink, floral, fruity take on the familiar Purpose/Encelade earthy akigalawood DNA.

It’s quite unique and addictive. For those who claim it leans feminine, wait until the drydown. This one of the scents that starts very strong and gradually settles down as it transitions from the opening to the middle, and finally to the base. I heard a woman say, “This is so sexy on a man. I’ll sniff this man all day long.” It’s a highly opinionated scent. Some people say it’s too feminine, while others consider it unisex. However, no one can deny its incredible versatility and its ability to leave a lasting impression on people when they smell it on you. As a man, I personally enjoy this perfume and will continue to wear it because it works exceptionally well. Yes, a man can pull this off, and he won’t regret it.

This is my signature scent as a man, and I think this is the best Amouage fragrance out there. The 46 is just CRAZY good.

For one entire year, Amouage rose incense was my favorite perfume of all time. I didn’t think it could ever be beaten. After my 5th wearing of Guidance 46, this has officially dethroned rose incense for the best perfume I have ever tested (by a hair). Holy shit… words cannot describe the beauty of this perfume Edit* after careful consideration, rose incense is still #1, but G46 is close

Nuclear Woody Amber Rose. Synthetic rose in a blur of musks and assaults of woody amber. Feminine. More linear and less challenging than the edp.

Hello my friends ❤️ Oh my God I'm so in love with this spicy freshness. A little bit flowery . Turbo vibe longevity and the perfection of all of this is this masterful balance between spice and fresh which I adore.

This has the same woody, soapy vibe as Amouage Purpose 50. After sampling Purpose 50 as well, I can definitely see the similarity. Guidance feels like the more feminine version, with added florals and hazelnut. Since it's the same perfumer, I guess he likes exploring similar scent profiles. It's a pleasant woody, incense-forward Middle Eastern style fragrance with great performance. 6/10

I like this far more than original guidance. It reminds me of a confident and powerful woman who has everything in life that she wants. On another hand it also reminds me of pencil shavings and an old powdery lipstick. I’ve never been so conflicted on if I like or don’t a fragrance before smelling this on paper.

Quite overpowering yet gentle at the same time somehow? I did feel like I needed a break from it at times because of how intense it is, but the fact that I could bear it at all speaks for its softness. Basically a gentle punch to the nose. Lingered on my clothes for days, despite not getting any directly on them. To me, it smells clean yet warm and somewhat natural. Like the one friend you had growing up whose family had their shit together. Where everyone was kind and it was clean and organized. Their house would smell like this, and it was just their natural scent. I like it, but I'm not sure I want to smell like this. Maybe because I mostly don't have my shit together and don't want to give anyone the wrong impression.

This perfume made me feel like a powerful Ottoman Sultan. The longevity is absolutely incredible! It's not something I'd recommend for summer or for the office, but it's perfect for those days when you want to feel powerful... maybe even a little bit like a witch. To me, this smells like the signature scent of a confident woman who knows she'll be loved like a princess by her partner, no matter what. The notes blend beautifully into a rich, spicy, woody amber scent with creamy florals and a touch of sweetness. It feels luxurious, bold, and almost regal. I've also seen quite a few people say that it lingers on clothes for up to four days and honestly, after trying it, I can believe it.

Several years ago I preferred the original Guidance, but I definitely prefer this version now. The original is feels far too heavy and headache inducing now. So much so that I no longer own it at all. I still have a couple decants of Guidance 46 and it’s for sure smoother and rounder than OG Guidance. The rose is more pronounced and the woods and sourness of the pear is dialed down. When I want to wear Guidance without the headache, I reach for this. It’s powerful without filling a room.

Aman tanrım hepsini duyabiliyorum. İltifat mıknatısı. Sürdüğüm gün fark edilmeden geçmiyor. Yayılımı çok güçlü ama rahatsız edici değil. Kalıcılığı bende canavar değil ama kesinlikle kalıcı. Kıyafette haftalarca kalır. Fiyat olarak biraz yüksek ama bence değer. Klimalı ortamda yazın kullanılır yani ben kullanıyorum Lol :) Artık elim hep buna gidecek çünkü hipnotize edici bir tarafı var. High octane and headache inducing

It smells like old, dried, moldy pressed flowers. It kind of makes me gag. What an awful blind buy!

I appreciate the composition of this - it’s fruity jammy, peppery rose… it’s just so strong! One spray is all I did… in fact I even tried to depress the atomizer slowly so I got half a dose and it’s still nuclear. I have a headache. EDIT: I actually got a migraine with this on my birthday and had to take a Tylenol (which I try not to take unless I'm struggling). As someone with an understated personality… this is not for me.

If Guidance was a little too challenging for your nose, Guidance 46 is her smoother, more refined sister. The sharp edges are softened, the rough corners polished away. She’s creamier, fruitier, nuttier, and wrapped in the most delicate powdery veil. I equally love them both. ❤️

Most feminine and "glowy" scent so far. I try to use it only after shower on wet & warm skin, I love how it smells delicious on clean hair, especially when I do my blowdry, the hot air makes it open better on skin and hair. That's the only way to enjoy the poudree side of this magical perfume. On other days it smells too ambery for me. Despite this, it's my one & only perfume. The best on the fragrance market. This perfume is just like a diamond, multifaced. Sometimes I smell warm sexy coconut water, sometimes hazelnut. Sometimes rose and sandalwood. The original Guidance is straight, has only one "face", that's why it was too basic for my personality. I stopped searching for any new perfume, just because Guidance 46 became my signature scent and I don't care how much it costs or how much is lasts. The bottle and lid design deserves special attention! Piece of art. The color palette 100% describes the deepest beauty of this scent. Amouage Guidance 46 is just a dream perfume that actually exists in real world. That's makes point of it's price.

Guidance 46 is one of the best fragrances ever, a masterpiece, and it is simply a 10/10 in every lane. As an owner of both versions, I have two comments: 1) The Extrait is more on the unisex side, unlike the Guidance EDP, which has more feminine edges. The addition of sour rose water and bitter almond softens those feminine edges and makes the composition more unisex, especially on air 2) This is much stronger than the Guidance EDP, both in longevity and projection. The EDP starts off stronger; for the first hour it projects harder, but it also settles down much quicker. The Extrait, on the other hand, fills up rooms for its entire duration, even after 8 hours, it projects well. Purpose 50, Interlude 53, etc. are all projection monsters too, a higher oil concentration doesn't always mean weaker projection.
