Opens up like a apple 🍎 and orange 🍊 fruit bowl, then it slowly allows the tea and Vetiver pop out and play every so slightly to end with a soft though of they amber, cedar, tonka and musk . I don't get much of the tonka though. That apple sticks around throughout the wear. This is a great pick up for a daily dumb reach. Surprisingly it had a decent scent bubble (Sillage) and longevity was about 4 solid hours working which isn't bad for an EDT and price point. Overspray is definitely helpful though. Though very synthetic, but synthetic is the majority the biggest play in the fragrance game.
Smells like baby wipes. One of my worst blind buys for sure. Confused Legend for the EDP on a eBay live auction. At least it was a less than $20 mistake.
The opening is green apple and bitter orange floating in some herbal tea; it is more fruity than sweet. The heart gets salty with a sea spray shower gel feeling, clean but also with a touch of musky earthy oakmoss. The base is light ambery woody vetiver and tonka sweetened cedar. The cap on the bottle is hilariously cheap on the 50ml bottles but the scent is nice.
This smells like straight bums. The one time I sprayed it I got a headache and I vomited.
First had this back in 2009 or so and it's a far cry from what it was back then but still a respectable fresh scent!! I'd say it still maintains about 50-70% of its original "DNA" scent from back then but no doubt the formula has been tweaked over the years for whatever reason (ingredient bans, cheaper ingredients, whatever it may be) but still.. for the price and performance for the current version I'd say it's worth giving it a shot if you haven't!! Now, this by no means smells significantly similar to Jean Paul Gaultier's "Le Male" (the original Le Male), however, it does have 3 of the same notes that will make you think "what am I smelling?" and it's the tonka bean, cedar and amber that are in both!! I may just try mixing the two of them to create my own unique concoction but we shall see! Folks, give this one a shot it's affordable and I think you might like it but if not you're only out $8 (the cost for a 0.27oz travel spray from FragranceNet.Com). **Disclaimer** FragranceNet.Com does not pay or reward me for suggesting them.
For me, this fragrance is my daily driver, even if I'm very picky on my fragrances. I blind bought this from Burlington for around 20 bucks USD, but this was an amazing value for both the performance and scent overall!
Cheap bottle. Syrupy synthetic.
This is such a weird one. Got a small 30 ml bottle dirt cheap a year ago as a summer spray and go cheapie. Sprayed it, instantly thought it was weak insipid rubbish and chucked it in the drawer and just replaced it with original Penguin premium blend which I thought was how this chrome should smell. I still rate the Penguin scent as an ultimate bargain hidden gem summer scent BUT I saw this small chrome bottle in the drawer a year later and thought I'd just spray it. Either my nose is better, or this mature in the bottle thing is real. Today this smells great, aquatic, slightly metallic, just the right balance between freshness, aquatic sweetness and aromatics - subtle but boy does it smell nice and I can still smell it 8 hours later. This after a year storage is a very solid bargain summer daily driver.
This feels like a dense and thick aquatic fresh scent to me, as a result you get great projection and performance but that comes at the cost of this not being light and you lose the effervescent nature of summer freshies. A few sprays do the trick and the it's super cheap and the value is amazing but you can see the cost cutting on the bottle design. It's super ugly and bare bones.
Got a decant to try instead of the full bottle and thank God I did. I spray on neck and clothes and tested this on my clothes, on tester strip it is alright but on clothes to me it smells identical to the wet showers in a gym.
Review No2 I have to add that most of the women l know prefer fresh fragrances on men. They don't prefer fancy, sweet, spicy fragrances. Azzaro chrome legend is women's approved for sure.
It absolutely can be a signature scent for some people. Yes, it is blind but safe. Citrus notes at the start… almost a tea note or something bitter that curbs the sweetness. On the dry down you have a brief and low projecting cedar (or woody scent - not familiar exactly with the notes). Safe to use in almost any setting but would shine best in the spring/summer and during the day. Equally, it could work in the fall or even winter months - would not be out of place. Almost impossible to put too much on - low offense rate. IMO - you don’t have a “collection” without Chrome and Chrome Legend. Find it cheap on resellers sites, easy to acquire, easy to wear, easy to grab for…. 7.8 / 10 (projection and silage not the best).
This one functions bizzarley on my skin. I cant seem to be able to detect how much it projects off of me. Its a crowd pleaser for sure, but for me its just okay. Its a floral Chrome for me.
I picked this up from a bargain bin and didn't expect it to impress me much. But I'm an Azzaro fan and have found several of their fragrances to be under-rated sleepers, so I couldn't help myself. I'm really glad I took the chance. True, it's generic. But it's also so damn fresh and pleasant. It's exactly how I want to smell on mild to hot spring and summer days. Fresh, clean, green, and more mature than many others in this category, thanks to a generous amount of woods in the base. But honestly it's the apple and tea combo that keeps me smelling this throughout the day. It lasts a lot longer than I expected it to. It has some similarity to Chrome United, but it's more tart off the top, and less powdery and sweet in the dry down. For me, that's a plus.
Had no idea Mr. Olivier Pescheux had a hand in one of my favorite budget fragrances!! RIP to him and he is one of my favorite perfumers because I seem to gravitate twords his style and scent profiles the he creates. I wore this often back in 2013/2014 so this one I have to revisit because even tho my taste has changed I still love my boring cheap synthetic fragrances because they bring me so many good memories ❤️.
imagine this, you’re on the island of Santorini enjoying the blue blue water of the Aegean Sea, or you’re on the Amalfi Coast taking your boat out on a gentle cruise, or you’re at San Sebastián with the sand in your toes. you’re in a white button down, half buttoned; you’re in khaki shorts. you have a great paying job, everything in life is great. and you also smell great. congrats, this is that fragrance. ciao
Method of Acquisition: Traded my Chrome Azure for this w/ my dad. Price on Jomashop (12/23/25, 100 mL); $26.99; N One sentence summary: Only use it for the gym, there are much better options out there.
In short, it smell like you work in a posh corporate office. Imagine a man wearing a formal dress working in a air conditioned office. That's the fragrance. If you want a daily office wearable fresh scent, go for this.
I Really Love & Miss the OG Version of Azzarro Chrome Legend, One of the Best "bang for your buck" type fragrances from the 2010's. Legend managed to keep that polarizing & unique metallic synthetic Chrome DNA while introducing more Tonka Bean & Oakmoss that lends Legend an almost creamy, semi-coconut composition; & My God was/is this a Nuclear Strong Fragrance. On Skin 8-12 hours w/ heavy Projection & Days on Clothing, 2-3 sprays was more than Generous.
Whenever I met with my Uncle, he always had this on and when I went to my parents' home country. His brother (my other uncle) had this on his dresser. I asked where he got this from and he mentioned it was from Him. It smelled nice and clean. Now I have it and it feels like I carry my uncle with me wherever I go.
Chrome Legend by Azzaro is a modern, refined update on the classic Chrome DNA. It keeps that fresh and vibrant feel but adds a deeper, slightly spicier and woody character that gives it more richness and sophistication. It’s still very wearable and versatile—great for daily use or casual evenings. The longevity is good, typically lasting around 7 to 8 hours, and the projection is moderate, making it noticeable without overwhelming. Overall, it’s a confident, polished scent that builds on the familiar freshness with added depth.
Nose Note #623 This is a solid fresh and green men's fragrance and it lasts very nicely, but unfortunately it doesn't smell like very high quality. Just smells like a knock off you can get almost anywhere for $5 or something. It's a definition of a fragrance for the people (the DNA, not the actual Chrome Legend). I feel like this or OG Chrome has been copied so much that now this is a crime to charge above $15 for this. Although I don't think you'll find a dupe that would last as long. It feels rather sweet too, and I wish it wasn't so. Mind! My wife rarely comments on the great many fragrances I wear and with this one she said it smells beautiful. After all the designers, luxuries and the rest. Figure that! 7/10, takes time to remember what this smells like, it feels so generic
I recently picked up the second reformulation of this fragrance (the one with the thin, rounded cap). It’s a little bit smoother and quieter than the original in my researches, which came in the large cap with the blue line and is widely known as the stronger version. I haven’t yet tested the newest batch with the medium cap, which visually resembles the original Chrome OG. So, I found the medium-sized bottle for just $13, and honestly, I loved the juice. While it’s not strong by any means, it’s still a solid performer for the price. The opening hits with a green, bitter orange note—sharp and aromatic—then dries down into a clean, soapy finish that reminds me of Dove’s cucumber bar. For the price it’s an absolute steal. To be easy to understand (please help me if I'm wrong): - Big cap with blue line: First version, known for strong projection and performance. - Thin rounded cap: Second reformulation, smoother and quieter. - Medium cap (Chrome OG lookalike): Latest batch, brighter citrus top, aquatic heart, warm woody base - aims to modernize the classic DNA. (AI helped me lol)
Clean, soapy, metallic, with some balanced bitterness from the orange rind and green tea. The newer formulation is a tad sweeter than the older one, but it's still very much worth it for the price and surprising longevity. Big indoor pool/beach resort vibes. If the Fruitiger Aero aesthetic had a smell, this would be it.
Amazing creation by Azzaro. I prefer this one over original Chrome. It's a fresh, aromatic, little bit metallic, green, fruity, tea fragrance only for men. Timeless style for us. It makes me feel really comfortable when l use it. Pretty satisfied with its projection and longevity. I can use this everyday in spring and summer. Also l can use this in formal situations during very warm summer nights.
***Updated Review on new 2023 Reformulation by Azzaro*** I was recently gifted a new bottle of the 2023 Azzaro release of this fragrance, and boy, what a huge difference there is between the super cheap version that was being made by Coty, and the new 2023 version under Azzaro! Compared to the Coty version, this new reformulation under Azzaro is better in every way. They only provide three notes of Orange Essence, Aquatic Notes, and Patchouli. But, this new formula still maintains that very familiar legend smell with the strong citric orange opening and the familiar Chrome metallic hint throughout the base. The aquatic twist is a great fresh rework on this fragrance while the patchouli gives it a better performing base and longevity than the previous Coty version. The bottle presentation and atomizer are both infinitely better than the horrid, cheap Coty variation, and the juice color has basically remained the same. The performance of the new formula is far superior as well. I have had two full wearings, and I can safely say that I get 8 strong hours with this new formula, with 2-3 hours of moderate projection. The new 2023 Legend is best suited for the Spring, Summer, and the early fall. Primarily for daytime casual or office settings. This is a very easy to wear crowd pleasing type of fragrance with just enough base to get through a work day, and not too much projection to bother any co-workers. If you can find this at discounters or rackstores for $25-30 (100ml bottle), and you don't have a lot of freshies in your collection, then I think this is a worthy pickup. I happen to really enjoy the Chrome line and fresh frags, so I don't mind having another fresh Azzaro scent on my shelf!
Wow, what a disappointment 😥
A green citrus scent. Doesn’t project or last long
This is a really likeable spring/summer fresh scent that has better longevity than most in the same vein. The initial blast can be admittedly a bit abrasive because of the chrome metallic edge, but only for a very brief moment before it calms down. Thankfully it doesn't calm down too much, as it has very respectable staying power. The dry down is a wonderful blend of gentle aquatic sweetness, powdery softness, and ambery tea with no note dominating, everything working really well together, and the accord remaining decidedly masculine but fresh. The projection is quite good the first hour or two. It may not be a new or expensive scent, but it wouldn't be a bad signature scent in warmer weather. Considering its very reasonable price point, this is a real winner: inexpensive, versatile, and really solid performance from a balanced and lovely scent. ***Follow up edit to my original review above*** This longevity with this one is great for a fresh scent. I also like it better and better as it dries down. The metallic note gradually subsides, leaving an increasingly pleasant tea note with occasional wafts of orange for several hours. Great summer scent.
Great everday freshie for those that dont want something too light that smells like lemon water, the opening is a little weird and you cant judge it by sniffing the cap or atomiser because that has a weird uncomfortable smell
