Love this fragrance from Annick Menardo. How did I stumble upon this? I was browsing the most popular fragrances from Annick Menardo, because I love Lalique Indigo, what a beautiful scent, and the blue color caught my eye. I started watching Youtube reviews of it, then Fragrantica reviews and one review popped out, ~The fragrance is being discontinued~. Sh*t. Oh no. When was it posted? 12/25. Shoot, I got some time. Scour the internet for Visit from Azzaro. Man this thing is inexpensive, around $26-$30. But I can't find it any more. Page after Page of Googling, out of stock, out of stock. But the third parties are a plenty. I succumb and paid a whopping $90, because now I have to have the thing I can't have. And I have to say, I wish I knew about this sooner. Wow. It is incredible. Minty, fresh, and warm. It's very nice. Not very aquatic, a bit warmer. Hard to describe. At least I have a bottle now. Too bad its gone.
Great spicy , incense + sandalwood + nutmeg fragrance with a balsamic edge. Very strong and natural smelling nutmeg; the opening is a bit deceitful as it smells brighter and fresher and closer to Gucci Rush for Men. But that quickly dries down and becomes a strong nutmeg bomb which is very unique, and stays that way for around 6 maybe 7 hours. Projection is moderate and becomes softer couple hours in. This is not a bad thing because this type of scent works best as a bubble. Later you also get a bit more creaminess from the sandalwood and the dryness from the cedar. I find this is actually better for warmer spring days as the ginger , bergamot and woods open up. On colder days the fragrance is more muted and not as expressive. Definitely can be polarizing but also a great addition if you like stuff that is a little more “out there” that still smell good. It is discontinued unfortunately.
Very close to Quorum Silver, Azzaro's Visit is just cedar and nutmeg. Quorum Silver, to me is the brighter of the two. Its agreeable stuff.
I got a 30ml bottle of this recently. I own Coach Open Road and I think they have some similarities. This one seems to last longer. Both are awesome fragrances.
The opening is very deceptive. Initially, it's pretty strong and in your face but quickly mellows into a light incense fragrance. Very easy on the nose and amazing value for the price.
How is this fragrance discontinued!? I miss it so much and there is literally nothing like it out there. A truly unique profile and my signature scent for over a decade. I think about it all the time and I hate that there is no other fragrance to match it. RIP Visit. You were the GOAT
One spicy Azzaro meatball I wish I didn't have to say it, but it smells kinda like when I go to recycle my empty cans and bottles. Is it a visit from uncle empty can? This is one of my more confusing frags 6/10
1. Visit is such a funny name for a fragrance and I can't really say why. 2. I'm pretty new to the fragrance world but you could tell me this was Le Labo and I'd believe you lol. 3. Too bad they're discontinuing this because it smells nice and the bottle is cool and it was cheap, but i already blind ordered a bottle of Puig Quorum Silver and they're apparently pretty similar so I don't feel like paying the rising prices for this. Not as cool of a bottle or color though. Edit: The more the more i wear the two the less similar Quorum Silver feels to this. QS is, to me, kinda harsh and sour, this is buttery and slightly sweet.
Opening on my bottle is a harsh mess, but after a few minutes it settles down nicely. Nutmeg and ginger off the top, but the cedar leans quite heavy even from the start. Pretty masculine warm weather fragrance, works well with Gillette blue aftershave balm and its cedar/shower gel notes. Looks like this is getting harder to find at discount sites. Worth the purchase at under thirty dollars, good dumb reach kind of scent, but I prefer Quorum Silver as a bargain alternative.
Being a drummer myself, it's all about the right vibe, and two sprays of this juice keeps me rockin' through the day😎
Someone who wants to wear Gucci Pour Homme I or vintage Cacharel Pour L'Homme on a special occasion, at night, can perfectly wear Azzarro Visit on that same date, during the day. As usual, the older the Azzaro Visit edition, the better. Another sophisticated sensual and cosy masterpiece by Anick Menardo. 👌💙

Since yesterday, anxiety and grief have been growing in me ... the reason is the confirmed speculations about the deletion by Gucci of one of the best male compositions of all time - Gucci Pour Homme.... sacrilege committed by the new creative director of the house - Frida Giannini, promoting nightmares of the likes of male Guilty and hijacking the sanctity of the classic PH , will never be forgiven her ... after all, who knowingly and deliberately butchers the hen that lays golden eggs? the company's new policy aimed at trashiness, hopelessness and banality will probably not go unnoticed ... customers will soon thank them for it by wreaking havoc on the sales charts ... what a shame and disgrace to turn the carefully polished image built over generations into a pile, throwing themselves into easy money .... So what's left? cash in the family's pretzels, sell a kidney on e-bay, take out a loan from Provident and stock up on a generous supply of Gucci PH, which, closed tightly in the refrigerator, will somehow allow you to survive until you find a worthy replacement ... but let's agree that only in the form of a substitute, because the original is an unsurpassed masterpiece in every respect, and nothing can really replace it ... 😦 So let's honor the memory of the outstanding Gucci Pour Homme with a minute of silence.... But one must live on... swallow this bitter pill tossed by crazy Frida (may her hand raised on PH wither and the teepees fall off) and move on.... looking for a replacement for Pour Homme, I came across a couple of compositions that can to some extent fill the void left by the irreverent classic, and I pre-qualified two compositions... the first is L. T. Piver - Epices, and the second is precisely Azzaro - Visit premiered in 2003.... To put it mildly, I'm not fond of Azzaro fragrances (not my parish), although I appreciate in a way the classic Azzaro Pour Homme (the one woven from a fartillion ingredients)... however, the other compositions, with synthetic Chrome at the forefront, I avoided with a wide circle... recently I bought on the basis of a sample lightly used 30th Visit and in the face of the catastrophe caused by the incomprehensible for me decision of the fashion house Gucci - it turned out to be a prophetic move.... Azzaro is maintained in the climate of Gucci PH, however, it is not a confusingly similar copy of it... it is less spicy, spicy, more simplistic and linear in its construction... it does not surprise us with subtle meanderings, as Pour Homme had a habit of doing, but with a little positive attitude, it will give us a pretty correct substitute for the irreverent PH.... Visit starts off quite peppery and spicy, thanks to the addition of pink pepper, cardamom ginger and muscat... the delicate bergamot in the background moistens this rather dry composition making it very digestible to the nose... it's a bit harsh, sharp and dry, but very masculine.... Visit is not another polite and ottomanized unisex, prepared to take the next generation of junior high school students by storm, but possessed of tremendous charisma as a lion of the salon... the fragrance is decisive, makes its presence strongly known and pushes ahead, like a crowd at the opening of a new hypermarket in Koluszki.... it is endowed with strong projection and decisive arrangement, so walking with it in the crowd, holding tightly to its mane, we will certainly not be lost.... I recently discovered an interesting fact when contemplating Visit... if you sniff hard on the wrist, after about 30-40 minutes after application, you can clearly sense in the background of the fragrance the leitmotif from Serge Noir - Serg'ea Lutens... except that it's a bit more diluted and not nose-breaking as in the case of the original... 😉 Azzaro is like a predator... vigilant, graceful and dangerous... reckless play with the atomizer, at best will end in the loss of a hand, and at worst in getting fired by co-workers irritated by its ubiquity... I did not notice in this fragrance a transition between head and heart... the scent begins its adventure on the skin, with a violent entrance with a dig, like van Damme in the “masterpieces of cinematography”, which he dubiously graced with his person.... This pungent and strong form of the fragrance lasts for the first 2-3 hours, so that after that the peppery-spicy dry spiciness gives way to a slightly milder incarnation of the fragrance.... Our kitty has returned satiated from the hunt and is now lounging in the shade of a large baobab tree... Visit's atmosphere to some extent reflects the dryness and harshness of the savannah where our animal king hunts... the blissful feeling of satiety induces Simba's drowsiness and the furry one falls into a relaxing nap.... the fragrance gradually changes its face, becoming more delicate, sweet and cozy ... the pungent chords stop, cease to dominate and give voice to a more subtle, but no less interesting base ... it becomes sweet thanks to ambergris, cozy and safe thanks to precious woods and incense, and is completed by the fleshy scent of musk .... Azzaro Visit is a very correct and successful composition ... containing its colorful face in two scenes
This is one of those fragrances that truly goes through a metamorphosis. Very bright spicy pink pepper nutmeg start then turns rather sawdusty almost balsamic for about 15min. Then Visit turns into a VERY LOVELY sweet creamy musky wood scent. Total banger for $20. This was made in 2003 and smells like it could have been recently released by Le Labo. Less sour harshness than a Santal 33. Love.
I love this site!! I am so glad I found this fragrance!!!!! So similar to Gaiac 10 for a fraction of the price!!!! Thank youuuuu!!!!
So I went to the parfume celler today and reached for a bottle, after not touching it for almost three years (as I did not like it then). Damn! How was I not using this for this past 2-3 years during late spring to mid Autumn?! This is nifty little scent perfect for warm but not hot weather. The performance is mediocre (projects midly for 1-2hrs, then becomes a skin scent) and the longevity is mediocre (6-7hrs) but it is a rarher light scent profile. I paid less ca. 40usd for 100ml (2021) and I think that was a good price.
poor longevity & worse sillage
cedar is strong with this fragrance. 7/10
First cologne I ever owned! Back in 8th grade I received this bottle as a gift, the batch back then was great. I repurchased it recently and didn’t like it so I gave it away. The projection, scent and silage is not the same.
SpendThrift74 below says that this is just like Quorum Silver, and he's completely right - in the opening. He's also right that if you own Quorum Silver, you might not want this. But I'd put it the other way around. If you like the woodiness of QS (and it is as woody as a Pixar cowboy with an erection), but would like to see what else could happen with that, then you'll love Visit. These two scents really are 'reference' wood perfumes to me, they're what I rank everything else against when people say 'woody.' Visit, however, has an overlay of something. Fragrantica members have voted that something to be 'incense,' and my love for incense, as well as Menardo, is what prompted me to blind buy it. I'm not disappointed in the scent at all, but I really wish the incense were stronger here. Truth be told, I can't actually smell incense - not like in Gucci Pour Homme 1 (Almairac), or a contemporary cheap incense power house like Majd al Sultan. If incense is here, it is mild, floating, barely there. That said, either incense advances or wood recedes in the deep dry down - I mean, a couple of hours - that really does leave this in a different place to Silver. Projection is delicate. Is it enough to make this a worthwhile addition to Quorum Silver? Yes. Could it be better? Yes again.
Compliment getter. Wearing this is like stepping into a world of timeless elegance and undeniable charisma. From the first spray, the aromatic and woody notes effortlessly envelop you, creating a scent that's not just a fragrance but a statement. It's the kind of fragrance that leaves a lasting impression,a formal event or just heading out for a casual evening.
I like this fragrance. It smells good. It performs very well. It is inexpensive. Home run, right? Well, it would be, but for some reason it smells to me like something out of the Avon Skin-So-Soft line. Now, I don't mean it FULLY smells like Skin-So-Soft, it just reminds me enough of it that I do not really reach for the Visit sample that I own. Now, even though Visit is already reasonably priced, I'll tell you this. If you are interested in Visit, just get yourself Quorum Silver. To me, Quorum Silver is pretty darn close to Visit, but cheaper. Also, QS is a bit sharper and more masculine (though QS is not the performer that Visit is). To me, Visit is like the sensitive man that people know is a bit of a romancer too. Quorum Silver is Visit's calmer, older, more traditionally manly brother who is also thriftier.
Boss Bottled Elixir is basically this ON STEROIDS!
Re-visiting Visit after a couple years, and it's smoothed out from my initial fresh bottle encounter. It's fuzzy, sweet, gently spiced, musky, with faint incense and no realistic cedar to my nose. This won't scratch the itch if you are looking for a strongly wood/cedar dominant scent. The scratchy/fuzzy woody aromachems are there, but are not major players, at least to my nose. I think the smooth, musky, sweet spices are the main components. The woodiness does surface, but only after it's a skin scent, and doesn't project into the air much. Strangely, I'm also getting a very noticeable vetiver now. It's unlisted, but I would be surprised if there isn't some in here. I think it might add to the saltiness some are reporting, along with the "ambergris". In summary, this is worth a look for a non-generic option under $30 bucks. The bottle and color of the juice remind me of Jil Sander for Men, which is sadly discontinued, but a much better option for smooth, musky, woody concoctions. Not really comparable beyond that, but Jil Sander has more nuance, whereas Azzaro Visit becomes a bit of a sweet, musky blob. Both are post Y2K, early 2000's, odd-futuristic aesthetics, exploring some interesting left of center themes and notes like incense, woodier components, and lesser seen accords. Which is why I think they both hold up today, and don't smell (entirely) dated. Ahead of their time, and both worth a sniff.
The dry down of a $500 perfume for $20 because Annick Menardo and Azzaro love you and think you deserve the best. Twice this month I was folding clothes and caught a whiff of a fragrance on one of them and thought "man that smells amazing I wonder what it is", and both times it turned out to be Visit. While I concur that Gaiac 10 is the better fragrance overall, there is still something to be said about the fact that I can purchase TWO LITRES of Azzaro Visit and still not spend as much as a 100ml bottle of Gaiac 10. Spray this fragrance on your clothes, it will change your life.
It's a nice woody nutmeg at it's core. I probably won't be rushing to snatch up bottles that are still available but it's enjoyable as a cool-spicy and incensed cedar. The opening is a nice contrast of warm and sparkling notes but they don't stick around for very long. The texture is very scratchy, and reminds me a lot of grinding away at an actual nutmeg seed. It's a little too much for me personally, but I can see how it's very easy-wearing and a bit unique. I do pick up a salty smokiness as Ben mentioned below, and that review is pretty spot on, I'm just not as enamored with it, as the vibe is close to various palo santo or cool-spicy sandalwood things that are popular right now. It stays close to the skin for most of the wear and I only catch it briefly a few times off my chest through the work day.
I’ve reach a point in my perfumery journey where I think Annick Menardo can do no wrong. My first ever perfume was Chrome. A pleasant albeit cheap/synthetic perfume. The only reason I came back to Azzaro is Menardo’s creation. On paper, a relatively generic idea. On skin though, a warm, salty, organic smelling offering both subtle and ingenious. Spices are delicate yet consistent throughout. Cedar is mellow and a perfect bridge to the ambergris’s soft supporting base. A very well balanced scent. Warm sweetness, salty wood with supporting smokiness. Not too masculine, very seductive.
Delightful variation on the pencil shaving woody style with a nutmeg element that works wonders in spring and autumn by smelling really different as the temperature shifts. Manages both dry, crisp, clean and warm, cozy, soft depending - but stumbles in high heat when it can be cloying. Annoyed a little by how much I prefer this to Tam Dao which seems the closest reference but it lacks the mutability and surprise. Not a loud scent, but that's only right with this profile.
Unique and not easily described. Visit is an interesting fragrance that is a highly original composition, but sadly lacking when it comes to projection or longevity. Possibly only worthy if you are a fragrance collector but may disappoint the casual buyer.
My father's perfume eventually, became my first ever perfume so it brings a lot of memories back to me. Musky and heavy on the cardamom(at least to my nose) with a woody sweet base. for the price, an absolute banger. I get a decent projection and good longevity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ scent profile = 10/10 price = 10/10 performance = 7/10 Overal = 9/10
