Bentley For Men Absolute

Basically Gucci Pour Homme in a new bottle. What a delight this is to wear! I'm not super crazy about the opening as there is an cumin like not in there that can be a little abrasive, and even after owning this one for a while, it still catches me off guard, but it passes quickly enough, once the dry down starts, this is fantastic. It's crazy value for the price and I have seen bottles selling for around $20. Lalique never fails to impress with quality, and this is no exception. It's definitely a mature scent profile and shares a lot of DNA with Tom Ford Bois Pacifique, as well. Bois Pacifique has a much better opening and is better quality all around, but also costs 5x as much, but doesn't smell 5x better (maybe 2.5x 😉) I'm also a huge fan of Bentley Momentum Intense which is a beautiful green aromatic, often said to be based on the classic CH Men, but that's another review.

Smells like very strong BO to me

I'm wearing this for the first time in awhile and clearly missed this. This is the standard for that pencil shavings woody accord. The papyrus does bring some challenges on the opening, but that's mainly when the bottle is new. After sitting it for several months, that same papyrus note blends beautifully with the atlas cedar. There's an incense note that wafts the fragrance about as it drys down. Cedarwood is probably my favorite note in fragrances and this does a hell of a job of showcasing that note. It doesn't project loud, moderate at best. But it lasts on skin for over 8 hours. People likely won't compliment this fragrance. This is more of a personal wear. Great fragrance for an artist or writer or even just one that loves the smell of dry smoky woods. The price makes this an incredible value buy. I've never smelled the inspo of this, but I won't need to with this in the collection. Just an outstanding fragrance overall!

Honestly, the value for money here is just ridiculous. It opens up with this incredible, bone-dry pencil-shaving cedar, but as it settles, you get this warm, rich resin and incense vibe that’s super comforting. The way it evolves over the day from sharp wood to a warm, smoky dry-down is fantastic. Plus, the longevity is insane - it stays alive on my skin for nearly 24 hours. An absolute steal for what you get.

Perfectly cromulent, I really have to be in the mood for it but I 100% get that overwhelming pencil shaving scent, sprayed some earlier today and I just couldn't hack it - especially with it being particularly mild summer weather. Had to spray something on top of it to make it more tolerable. This is one that would probably shine more in cool weather to absolutely frigid temps because of it's dense, dry woodsy, resinous accord.

Wood, wood, wood. Not bad, but too dry for my taste. Smells a bit like pencil shavings, especially at the opening. It's also challenging to wear--it's kind of odd. Not a bad fragrance, but it isn't something I'll be wearing.

On the (very) dry side... • Even more the polar opposite of sweet/syrupy/gourmand scents than Bentley Intense. • I don't mind dark and woody fragrances, but this one has exceptional dryness. Too dry for my taste. • There is also a persistent note that irritated me at first; I suspect it was the synthetic oud, or the papyrus. • I got this bottle in late 2025. I was looking forward to wearing it last winter, but I disliked it too much for this. • ~8-9 months later, it's improved quite a bit. It's rounder, less dry, and less sharp/irritating. • I will wear it now, but I'll start by layering something fresh, floral, or slightly sweet/fruity over it. • Longevity is above average, with moderate projection and sillage.

Smells like pencil sharpenings

This one just wasn't for me. It was also a blind buy so I'd be happy for someone else to have it. No box. Hardly used.

This is as old school, woody a fragrance as you can get. It’s just something that in 2025/6 for an easily accessible fragrance you just don’t come across as a perfume style anymore. It’s woody, dry and has absolutely no sweetness to it. It’s a fantastic cold weather scent, before everyone associated Christmas pudding with winter scents (SWY/Le Male Elixir/Azzaro Most wanted Intense EDP & Parfum/JPG le Scandal/Spicebomb extreme). This is what makes it “old school masculine”. I’ve had amazingly positive reactions to it from people in the 30+ age range (and I’m in my 50s). I have all the sweet winter fragrances, but on occasion, its great to just get away from the sweetness- in a way a woody, refershing, smell for cold weather that absolute is noticeable in cold weather without being sweet. Very underrated!!

This cologne is a "bang for your buck" for sure! I look forward to purchasing another bottle for the next Fall/Winter season.

Holy manly in a bottle! Shares some similarity to its brother intense... but with mega cedar, smoke and spice. Another Bentley BANGER, performs well for ~5-7 hours, and is super wearable in fall/winter (maybe spring if you're a badass🤣)

Revisiting this one and my impressions have changed. This smells like a new cedar garage door. So, if you want to step out smelling like a new cedar garage door, this is for you. It's not for me.

I like the woody and smoky notes and the dryness but there is a sharp synthetic note I don't like. Maybe the oud accord or too much super iso E. If I'll use it, I'll probably combine this with Boss bottled to compensate the sharpness.

1973 Maserati Bora 4.9 in burnt orange. The edges are not smooth to the touch, but one cannot tell the difference when being cut. Dr. Nasch from Before I Go To Sleep wears this.

Dry, slightly aldehydic pencil shavings with a touch of ginger. Very little sweetness. A bit mineralic, smoky and salty, that could be the “oud”. I suspect it’s based on ISO E Super as it’s quite weightless and transparent for such a dark, woody scent. Brooding, stoic, mature. I’m in love. Imagine smelling this in the the early 2000’s, and you’ll understand why Gucci Pour Homme is missed, it must’ve been groundbreaking back then because this is still a very unique fragrance, and yes, they are nearly identical. This is a shade darker but they’re so close, I question the sanity of anyone who would bother paying Ebay prices for GPH.

Cedar and a very synthetic oud. That's about it. Lasts 6 hours on skin with moderate projection. It's cheap and it smells like it. Something about the oud bothers me every time I wear this. I don't like it.

Gucci PH in black Bottle :) Very similar to Gucci Pour Homme I. Good projection and longevity. Great Job Mr. Almairac.

It’s a 10/10. If this came out of a Creed bottle you wouldn’t think twice. Absolutely Niche.

I have to brag to you because I managed to get a bottle from 2016 for really little money, only 14 dollars, about 70% left in the bottle, so it's an incredible opportunity, but let's get to the point,I have bottles from 2019, 2020 and 2021 which, in my opinion, had nice parameters, not to mention the new releases which have no parameters at all, which shocked me after one spray of the Bottle 2016, oh my, I'm happy. One shot fills the entire room. It's so intense, and the oils shimmer on your skin. Gentlemen, believe me, bottles 2019 and up are a joke. The truth is that the old bottle and the new bottles are two different scents, unfortunately!

Words I would use to describe this scent: Papery, almost violet like, powdery, airy, neutral. Does not spring up at me as being overtly incensey in the sense of it being deep, rich, resinous, which is not surprising given I got this for £22. But it is certainly inoffensive, GPH 2.0 without the depth, work friendly, verging on violet and iris like.

Bentley ~ For Men Absolute 2014 EDP: The opening has some Fruity, Floral, and prominent Iris notes, none of it is on the note breakdown. Frankincense has a Fruity note to it, that might explain some of the Fruity notes i get, but not the Floral and Iris notes. For Men Absolute is not the same as Prada L'Homme Intense 2017 EDP, but some of the Fruity, Floral and Iris notes are similar. Both are part of my Signature collection, and in the same wheelhouse. The drydown has more Smoke, Oud, Wood, Ginger, Amber and Moss, but there are still Floral and Iris notes in the background. The Prominent notes are Smoky Leathery Hardwoods. With 2 sprays in the morning, respray in the evening, and I still get some of the delicious scent when I wake up the next day. 4 sprays total last longer than 24 hours. I didn't expect For Men Absolute, at only $33 USD, to be soooo good, beautiful, and one of my Signature scents. I Absolutely LOVE Bentley For Men Absolute 😍

To my nose, this is a pinecone bomb. The smell reminds me of Christmas time, so ill definitely be using it next winter. It also reminds me of sharpening my pencil in elementary school, because of how woody it smells. Pretty linear, but not a bad pickup. Could be great for layering with other woody scents.

The fragrance itself might not be great in its own but if you layer it with other fragrances on skin it becomes amazing! I've tried it with boss bottled absolu, jpg lblp, swy absolutely and they all smell richer and more expensive with bentley absolute. No one knows about this layer trick with bentley absolute so if you want to smell niche while smelling like no one else this is for you.

Punches way…way above its weight class. This is not off putting yet is very confident and unique. Very dry cedar and a little incense are the stars here. Except for high heat this would work in most seasons. Very masculine without leaning dated or out of touch. Probably best worn dressed up, not in gym clothes. Very pleasantly surprised.

Total Disappointment, Wish I could say it was Bad actually it's barely scented Oily Water...I spray it on my hand I smell nothing, my hand shines of oil but very very faint indestuingishable smell that you gotta dig your nose in to smell it, needless to say it's zero Projection from the time of spraying onwards..I don't know what was that... probably a fake bottle 🤷🏻

Niche juice in budget.
