Syrupy tropical with that patchouli base. It’s gorgeous. I can’t comment on the longevity but this is very warm and comforting . Somewhat sweet too.
I recently got in another mystery box of fragrances from a charity auction and this was in there. I don’t have any Beyoncé fragrances and there were two in there, this being one. I didn’t want to like it. But, as I’ve said before, I’m a sucker for anything Noir, or Senuelle, or Midnight! I adore warm sultry florientals. I liked this instantly! I would have never purchased this if I saw this in the store. However, this is my kind of fragrance for the cooler days. It’s warm, a bit floral, a bit fruity, a bunch of patchouli, amber and woody notes. It is a tad synthetic, but not off putting. I’m pretty much a housewife, so I love my affordable scents for around the house and running errands and save my pricier fragrances for nights out. I enjoy this very much for my needs! It’s really sexy!
While it certainly wasn't a 'powerhouse' in terms of performance, this fragrance was a standout for its composition. The plum and patchouli notes gave it a moody, sophisticated edge that put it a notch above the sugary celebrity releases of the time. It’s subtle, but definitely more elevated.
So I just got a tester of this today, and wow it smells so dark and sexy! I'm still new to perfume, but the plum and patchouli are definitely the ones that stand out the most. It feels like it would be perfect for a night out, but you could also wear it in the daytime. I just put it on but it is quite strong, I'm hoping it has a good sillage it seems like it will.
I got a partially used tester of this for a good deal (20 dollars) i picked it up as a reminiscing scent for whenever i want a whiff of 2000's its like B&BW and jo malone pomegranate noir had a baby .. Plum and patchouli are most prominent to my nose, i ususally dislike patchoulis , but the floral accents in the middle are balancing it out for me ..
I have a bottle for sale pm if intrested
it encapsulates a sexy aura from the 2010's, very sensual and nice blend of notes, a little fruity at the opening but it blends so smoothly to the. florals in such a sexy way, i'll definitely buy again.
Super sexy and intoxicating perfume. It does smell artificial and chemically but that doesn’t bother me one bit. It’s so sultry and I can NEVER stop sniffing my damn self every time I have this on me. This has to be the most intoxicating perfumes I own. If I’m being real, it smells like mosquito/bug spray but I DON'T CARE! I love this perfume so much!! So mysterious and intoxicating gosh.
When I say I LOVED this perfume you should not underestimate it. This perfume was the sexiest most intimate intoxicating perfume I owned. This was my favourite of Beyonce's perfumes. My second favourite being pulse. I am so sad that I have finished the bottle and its discontinued. I am trying to find a dupe or a perfume with a similar smell but no matter what nothing will beat the way this made me feel.
such a unique sensual scent, dark, alluring and mysterious. it was my first ever perfume i bought as a teen and used to douse myself in it hoping i smelled like beyoncé. ofc bey doesn’t wear this but i love it. i definitely smell the plum and orchid, woven so well. it’s one perfume i’d repeatedly get soo much compliments on, even now. i feel like i’d taken this for granted so many years bc it used to be cheaply available everywhere and now i never see it. just finished my bottle and will miss it, if this had better longevity it would’ve been the perfect perfume.
I can’t believe it I found this bottle the other day so I must have liked it at some point but I’ll just use it up, I have at least 30 mil left from 100 mil bottle. Like someone below said … At times I think it's alright but I think it's just the nostalgia I get from it. I thought it was a good fragrance when I was younger. I don't like it anymore. I do not like the way that the patchouly is done in here anymore. It reminds me of alien Mugler and Reb’l Fleur line, I recently bought the Angel EDT version, I think I’ll be layering it in order to finish it up but most likely I’ll be wearing it on nights out. I can’t even imagine wearing this during the heat. I feel like it’s a dated scent late 90s early 2000s if you like the sense from that error, you definitely like this.
It was nice at first nothing amazing or a head turner but after wearing it a couple of times, got sick of it and would give me a headache ..plus I'm pretty sure my old teacher would wear this lol 4/10
I am actually surprised there is no coconut in this fragrance, because at the time it was all I could smell along with some fruity floral notes. On the sweet side as most Beyoncé fragrances are I got this as a gift and didn’t really care for it, so I would just drench myself in it after my cigarette breaks before college classes. I didn’t realise it was that strong however, every time I was in class I would always hear someone asking what that smell was because they though it was amazing (they also got fruity coconut floral vibes lol). Funnily enough me spraying this haphazardly whenever I would go out just to use it up resulted in this being the perfume that, to this day, I’ve gotten the most compliments on from people. Sometimes even though I didn’t care for it too much I’m tempted to buy it again just to be complimented lol.
Very fruity at first, sweet and tropical fruits but not overwhelming. They are very well mixed with patchouli and orchid, which stand out above the rest of the notes. Very nice to wear, I think I prefer this one rather than Heat and the rest of the flankers.
This is by Beyonce?! What?? This perfume - Midnight Heat is SO good I don't know what it is about it but to me, this is heavenly. I like her but now ... I like her more. A lot, actually. There is something that lingers in Midnight Heat that smells gorgeous to me. I don't know what notes or what combination is satisfying me so much with this, is it the plum? Night blooming Cereus? Is it the patchouli? Maybe it's the sandalwood. It's the masterful blender by the perfumer, who is very talented. I have expensive taste generally, I believe, I've spent thousands on perfumes. I love the work of master perfumers. Shockingly this Beyonce purple juice has become one of my favourite perfumes. This perfume is so good to me. I love smelling it. There is something in Midnight Heat Beyonce that is so good to my nose. It smells well blended to me; irresistible, sexy and I smile when I put it on. I thought my favourite was Beyonce Heat Rush but now Midnight Heat is on heavier rotation. The original red Heat is ok, a safe and slightly boring bet. I feel that the longevity of Midnight H. is moderate to long lasting.
I have not yet tried the original Heat, so I can't say if this is a nighttime version of that scent, as the name would imply. But it does what other celebrity scents do to make a night time scent. Toss a dark fruit on it and call it a day. In Midnight Heat it's plum that is contributing to the darkness. It works...but... The opening is mostly dark rich plum with tropical fruits. Starfruit and dragon fruit are both pretty refreshing fruits and should have balanced the richness of the plum, but they don't. Instead they add a sourness that make the cloying plum use even more sickening. The florals in the mid are always deep in the background. The plum and the patchouli drown them out almost completely. The patchouli is present almost from the start and it is very thick and heavy contributing even more to the cloying sweetness. The patchouli is similar to that in Angel, but here it has nothing to balance it and make it smell more interesting. The performance of Midnight Heat is quite good. Too bad it is obnoxious and overwhelming and turns my stomach a bit. Even sprayed lightly, I find it intolerable. It lasts at least six hours, projecting a little beyond arms length for at least half of the wear. I can't imagine anyone wanting to wear this in hot weather. Haha, I am wearing it right now, in the middle of summer with a heat warning. But I am inside with the AC on and I still feel like it's too much. I will be showering it off as soon as I finish this. I did try it a couple times in the winter and didn't like it any better then. I am a big fan of sweet fragrances, but this one is too much, even for me. I don't know who I would recommend this too since I can't imagine anyone being able to tolerate the syrupy sweetness. I see a good number of likes and loves for this fragrance, so there must be fans out there. This fragrance is available at pretty discounted prices ($20-30CAD for the 100ml). I found a little 15ml bottle that only cost a few dollars, so if I can't give this one away, it won't be much of a loss if I just toss it. But if you like it, this can be a great value since it has solid performance.
I got a sample of Midnight Heat today at the mall and I'm sorry, but this one is a big "no" for me. The smell is the definition of "soapy" in all the wrong ways. The first thing I thought when I smelled it was "bathroom" because of the overwhelming blend of patchouli and plum that leave no room for any other notes to shine or come through. It's like a scented hand soap at your grandma's guests bathroom you just wanna wash off of you to get rid of the smell. I've been told that this one is pretty similar to Britney Spears' Midnight Fantasy, hope that one smells better.
To me this just smells cheap. This fragrance smells like sour patchouli and plum.
I blind bought this since this was being compared to Midnight Fantasy which i loooove. But honestly i only smell a teeny tiny slight resemblance due to the plum and MF is still way better! I think the patchouli is the note here that is giving me meh feelings. If it wasn’t for that this would be better. Well the smell is still okay for me, i still like it irregardless of that unpleasant note. Longevity is kinda ok and sillage is moderate. I am still happy to add this to my collection.
Ex boyfriend LOVED this one me, i would often spray it on his bed so he has my scent haha. He would always ask what it was and told me he wanted to "eat me up" as i smelled so delicious, i never told as it is my own secret! Now, he is begging me to tell him (guess he wants the new girlfriend to wear it for him HAHA). Very sweet smelling, but sensual/sexy at the same time. If you want a man's head to turn, i recommend this!
This is an interesting fragrance. It smells a bit sour, like a syrupy plum-flavored medicine with a pine tree and patchouli aroma. At times I think it's alright but I think it's just the nostalgia I get from it. I thought it was a good fragrance when I was younger. I don't like it anymore.
Because it has patchouli in the base notes, I'm giving this another try... but see my review for "Heat" (red/white ombre bottle) to see what I think of these perfumes. I just sprayed a bunch of this one one me and I'm heading to the river.. let's see what my friend thinks. Copy and pasted my review from Heat: Disgusting to me. It smells like public urinal cakes. The purple bottle does as well, but just a different scent of urinal cakes. They're both cheap and offensive to my senses. I now have 100ml bottles of each, full, save for a couple of sprays to test.. for sale or swap. It just doesn't work for me. Wish I knew what this note was, because I would avoid it like the plague. The purple bottle dry down has lessened its urinal cake scent to a degree where it is wearable but barely there after only 20 mins, unless I press my nose into my wrist, but this red one is unbearable and un-wearable. Whatever this horrible note is, Elizabeth Arden's Always Red has the same note and it turns my stomach. ~~~~~~ I'll edit this later with hopefully more positive things to say on this one. I do like this one much more than Heat. This one seems wearable.. if there was absolutely no other perfume left on the planet. Sort of smells like something for Christmas to be honest. This is such an odd duck. Hoping the patchouli saves it in the dry down. I do love patchouli.
I definitely smell something purple. I've noticed a lot of Beyonces perfumes smell like medicine to me. But this smells like something green. Like a Christmas tree. Or a plant. Not for me
If you have midnight fantasy, you don’t need this. Fantasy is the better one. Midnight heat is a little more tropical, and a little dirtier (patchouli) Midnight fantasy (Britney spears) is soapy, much cleaner smelling, and can be found at shoppers for 19.99 for all my Canadians. But they are so close, I don’t think you need both. I prefer midnight fantasy, it smells like amazing shampoo. And lasts WAY longer. Beyoncé’s just goes away so quick, don’t waste your money.
As for as celebrity fragrances go, I really like the Beyonce Heat line. I found a bottle of this on Amazon for the bargain price of £9 for a 100ml bottle so I decided to blind buy it. Compared to the other Beyonce Heat fragrances I've tried though, this one doesn't do much for me. Firstly, it's quite weak. I have to spray A LOT of this in order to get the scent to stick for any amount of time, even then it fades within a few hours from my skin, it sticks to clothes for a few hours longer. Actually, some of the EDT's from this line are stronger than this particular EDP. Upon initial application, this one does have quite a sweet, fruity scent with a slight woody darkness to it. It's nice, not your typical fruity celebrity scent however it is still a little artificially sweet smelling. The dry down comes very quickly though and, on me at least, this just reminds me of cough syrup. It's a wearable fragrance, something I'd throw on for work or just wear around the house. Suitable for all weathers but maybe a little too cloying in particularly hot, humid weather. It's one of those fragrances I'll finish but won't bother repurchasing regardless of how cheap it is.
This is definitely one that you need to test on your skin versus a test strip. On my test strip it was overly fruity sweet and cloyingly so. But, on skin, it is a very pretty fruity plummy patchouli. I don't think I will wear this during the high heat of a very humid summer. But, in cooler weather, it is quite pleasant, but not groundbreaking. It bears some nuances with Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur, but Reb'l Fleur has better projection and longevity on me. On my skin, this lasts about 4 hours, becoming a skin scent over time.
The odyssey to the dry down is a little scary. I bought this because I like how the plum note in fragrances work with my chemistry. The opening was a synthetic blast and I thought something was wrong with it. Then the florals emerged and I was still concerned because it smelled off/unclean. After an hour or so it turned plummy, creamy, and sweet. I like it. I can't love it because I can't spray it and run out the door. It will be a weekend around the house fragrance to enjoy.
The plum and the starfruit shine in this. the dry down is amazing, but the longevity is beyond sadness. You have to spray it on you clothes to smell it. I mean like 10 sprays...
It's all about the plum. Love it. Didn't expect such a gem from a celebrity perfume. Buy it!!!
