Reminds me of Jimmy Choo Illicit initially. Sweet and a little prickly. I tested both this and Illicit specifically to find something I like with a honey note. I wouldn't say this worked out for me in either case. Pink pepper is an issue for me generally, and it's a little bothersome here. I get orange blossom mostly for the florals. It dries to what smells more like spicy vanilla instead of cedar+benzoin. I imagine this would work beautifully for someone else.

Honey coated praline and soapy white florals with orange zest. Literally. Smooth, refined, bright and citrusy. It’s pleasant but uninspiring, predictable and unmemorable. Performance is also quite weak and the scent dries down into a much flatter scent profile.

It’s pretty, but not as strong as I’d like it to be. Wears off quickly. It smells like a generic white floral. Lots of jasmine & only subtly sweet. I’m not really picking up the honey or praline at all; maybe if I concentrate hard lol Just your typical grown woman white floral that you’d wear to the office in my opinion. I like it, but not enough to buy a full bottle.

I like the spicy floral aspect of Place Vendôme with subtle praline giving gentle warmth and a zesty plum style fruitiness. I wanted more honey from this which isn’t really there. There’s a pencil shavings note that reminds me of Chloe’s Nomad Absolu de parfum which increases with the dry-down. Place Vendôme is a very nice spicy floral and if you love Chloe’s Nomad Absolu de parfum then you’ll love this.

Place Vendome by Boucheron was my first fragrance from this historical luxurious jewellery French house. I remember buying a bottle of this perfume a while after visiting their boutique in Place Vendome, Paris almost ten years ago. I was so impressed with the absolute luxury of that place and I wanted something to remember me of that moment. Sadly, the perfume inspired by their flagship boutique is lacking the ultra luxurious and decadent aspect that the store possesses. Place Vendome EDP is just another honeyed orange blossom/jasmine perfume at core, sprinkled with rose, peonies, some citrus and some resin. It’s leaning towards being a full blown gourmand with notes like praline and honey, but the balance between white flowers and gourmand accents is perfectly balanced without inclining towards any specific side more than the other. After years passing and hundreds of perfumes later, I prefer other perfumes that are very similar more than Place Vendome, because Place Vendome doesn’t project and I can’t really smell it into the air around me. It is one of those scents that smells very nice, classy, elegant and ultra feminine but sits close to the skin. Which for some women might be exactly what they want so that they can wear it during office hours. In that regard, it’s office safe and wouldn’t offend anyone around. As a conclusion, I like Place Vendome because of the memories associated with, but I don’t love it and I wouldn’t replace it once I am done with my bottle. I would highly recommend as the better, more luxurious and full bodied option of this Elie Saab’s Le Parfum. That’s a true statement fragrance and it’s fairly comparable to Place Vendome. Like the more intense, richer, more luxurious version of Place Vendome.

I keep wanting to love this and wanting it to work, it’s just not. I want the subtlety and elegance of this, but it is barely perceptible on my skin. I can barely smell it. Also the more I wear it, the more it starts to feel sort of stale to me. It might just be the age of this fragrance. It might have been great when it was manufactured but we’re 12 years on now, and these notes and fragrance compositions might just be past their prime. Open to suggestions that fit this profile.

I find cedar very comforting, and the cedar just sings in this one. Highly recommended if you love delicate honeyed florals over a piquant cedar base.

I have to be in the mood for this and the weather has to be right, but when the stars align it is lovely. It’s a citrusy floral with a slightly old fashioned vibe. It’s airy and wispy and catches nicely on a spring breeze. And the bottle!! Oof, that bottle is a beauty!

I have bought a bottle of this 2 years ago because it was listed as a good replacement for Love by Chloe. That said, it is not really why i came to love it. I don't wear it often and when i do, only during the colder months. You see it's VERY strong. It's an utmost chique, very makeup powdery, boudoir scent. Reminding me of the nineties somehow. It's pure honey sweet and pure make up powder. Simple. And i only wear it when i want to feel suuuuuper girly and fancy. Very low pricepoint for the longevity and quality of the scent.

Powdery Sweet Resinous White-Floral with Sour Tangerine ... I just have a sample of this, but before the spray dries I pick up the cedar most prominently, but once it's dry I get the framework of a jasmine-benzoin fragrance, enhanced by pink-pepper and cedar. A few minutes into the drydown I'm getting the orange-blossom and honey tinged by a sour tangerine. Overall, a dense & resinous-sweet amber-floral/white-floral-oriental. I get reminders of other jasmine-benzoin scents (although this isn't a dupe), such as Cinéma YSL and Amarige Mariage Givenchy. A few hours into the drydown, it turns into a powdery, sweet near-peach scent that reminds me a little of Trésor Lancôme. Overall, there's a sour-sweet timelessness here, and I could imagine Jennifer Lawrence wearing this on set in American Hustle (which also came out in 2013), as she messily mixes her own version of sweet & sour. It's possible that a full bottle would age even deeper and sweeter with less sourness up top, nevertheless it's a love for me. Enjoy!

In the opening, I pick up on a sweet fruitiness with a slight citrus. I think the praline comes out pretty immediately to my nose. Overall this is more sweet and fruity and not as floral as I was expecting. More intimate projection. Barely lasted 4-5 hours. It's cute and pleasant but I feel like I prefer other scents.

A floral infused honey, brightened with a sweet, oily, rind-like citrus, warmed by praline and benzoin. A versatile but non-generic 'everyday' scent. I think you could easily gift this to someone who is not into fragrance as a hobby and just wants something nice and wearable. And let's hear it for the bottle! Weighty and luxurious feeling. I'm a bit sick of the trend of uniform, stale, uninteresting bottles. Soft projection and decent longevity, maybe 5-6 hours of good wear.

like Robert Cavalli’s spring sister. All the intensity and arrogance has been swapped for effervescent innocence. More wearable. Think perfume add with white dress and the cotton bedsheets hung up to dry. It is light, inoffensive and sweet with a slight fruitiness. Great for summer and everyday on the go. Mediocre projection and lasting power though. 6/10 Update: this is now my new work scent and the more I wear it, the more it differentiates itself from Cavali - it is a nostalgic perfumes orange flower that’s old timey ina good way. Surprisingly powerful projection for the first hour/two. 8/10 I’ve run through the bottle now. While I don’t think I would repurchase (there are other perfumes I enjoy a bit more) I enjoyed using this. It’s an affordable, good quality perfume for day-to-day office wear.

I wanted to love this. I was *convinced* that I would love this... and now that I've tried it I can say... at least I don't hate it. I think it might be very nice on an aunt or a friend, but I don't think I'll wear it myself. My first impression was that it was quite sweet. Not a girly kind of sweet, but sweet with a perfume-y kind of floral that I associate with older women. It's not an unpleasant smell, not at all. But the honey note is quite pronounced and it's much sweeter than I'm able to enjoy for more than a few moments. Perhaps I'll find something to layer it with that will make it a bit fresher for me. I'm not quite ready to give up on it just yet... EDIT: I had to downgrade this. After a few hours this perfume gave me a headache and made me feel ill. So, sadly, I'm giving up on this one.

Soft, honey baked floral. Pleasant aroma, elegant bottle, gorgeous in its simplicity. Another fine gem from Boucheron. This is affordable luxury.

Super floral. I really don’t get much honey here and it’s got a shampooey scent to it. Illicit has much more of a gourmand feel and isn’t as sharp as this, but it has a similar wood that’s slightly pencil shaving-like but smooth. Imagine a shampoo of Illicit but without the caramel and you’re getting closer to Place Vendome. I find it a bit sharp personally!

The opening is very elegant and more floral than fruity. Something you can imagine ladies of a past era wore, but it's by no means old-fashioned either. As it settled, it got a bit sweet and generic smelling, but luckily it became a pleasant, classic scent on the skin. I don't think there's much projection after an hour. Something worth trying again some time when I'm in the mood for a floral, but I wouldn't know what to do with a full bottle (I got a mini at a great price).

This is a blind buy reading reviews here and loving the bottle. It is a happy scent, I can smell honey and citruses, nothing else, it does not project, stays close to the body and fades after a couple of hours but smells elegant and airy, this is like a forest nymph perfume. I love it but mostly love the bottle.

If PV was a woman it would be Grace Kelly. Pure class, elegance, beauty and femininity. Love it so much!

I'm growing increasingly enamoured of the oeuvre of Nathalie Lorson, and Place Vendome is not breaking my lucky run. It's a beautiful, transparent, rose-happy floral that you can buy for a steal, which is true of so many Boucheron frags. I find this house to be quite underrated; same with Lalique, another French line with gorgeous bottles that Lorson has contributed to. I snagged the sweetest little purse-spray, in an elegant and practical cloth sheath with a metal bar clasp, for less than $12 on Fragrance Net. You can get a 3.3 oz bottle for less than $30 on sale. I'd call this a fantastic bargain, even a blind buy, for anyone who enjoys floaty, friendly, diaphanous French florals in the tradition of Jaipur Bracelet, although that one is greener, and this one is more honeyed, with a gourmandish praline note. PV seems to get more creamy and ambery in the drydown, and I'm getting much more jasmine (slightly indolic but not what I'd call dirty) than rose or any other floral. It reminds me a bit of Calvin Klein's Beauty, only it projects much better and seems to have a lot more going on in terms of its notes and development. This one sparkles a bit more on the skin, if that makes any sense. Update: This is really beautiful on my skin, and it gives me a serene feeling, probably because of the combination of honey and cedar, the strongest note for me on the drydown (along with the orange blossom and jasmine). Such an elegant, heavy bottle, too; it wears a bit light, so I'm glad I bought the purse spray. Update: Wearing again on a warm late September afternoon and really enjoying it. It's not a big projector, especially after the third hour or so, but I enjoy the clean woody-floral-amber drydown. Plus, the 100-ml bottle is impossibly beautiful, and I got a very good deal on it on the gray market. I'll probably die before I use it all, but what an easy reach, almost a no-brainer, for those who enjoy the subtler, friendlier French EDPs. It reminds me of a drier and more elegant Dior J'Adore, or maybe Gabrielle. The honey note is discernible, but it's not as prominent as it is in Lalique pour femme, not to mention Serge Lutens Fils de Joie or Un Bois Vanille (there it's more beeswax than honey, I suppose). Anyway, this is a honeyed floral, but the cedar and benzoin base are what you are going to spend the most time with, and fortunately those notes are very appealing to my nose, at least on my skin. I think the reason many people are disappointed with the longevity is that it doesn't contain a musk note, that I can find/discern, and maybe the ambers can go only so far as fixatives. At any rate, I'm fine with the longevity being moderate--six or seven hours for me, with the majority of that being very close-wearing, almost skin scent territory. I have too many fragrances that throw like an em-effer but can't be safely worn in public. As a confirmed frag hag, I love those, but I don't want to give anyone a sick headache. I get those, just not from perfume, and I would 't want to be the cause of one. This might sicken the hypersensitive, but it isn't so strong that most people are going to smell it outside of an arm's length scent bubble (or even more intimate proximity), so I say this is safe for the office, for those forced to go to them.

If you're looking for an ode to honey, this isn't it. The honey note is delicate but soon passes. The fragrance is a classy blend of white flowers, and you could safely give it as a gift to pretty much any woman knowing that she won't hate it. The bottle is very very pretty and looks lovely on my dressing table. That's just the problem though, it doesn't stand out because it's so generic. It is pretty, classy, and completely unremarkable, which makes it perfect for the office or a blind-buy gift. Both the sileage and the longevity is quite poor, but someone may like a pretty, light-wearing fragrance, that's completely and utterly safe. I've been wearing it as a summer perfume but can't wait for it to come to an end so I can move onto something with more personality.

One of my favourites. Last two or three years I've been into niche perfumes, but now I came back to my old love. 🖤So lovely - classy, chic, fits perfect for spring weather or colder evenings. Feminine, but with character. I don't see much similarities with YSL Cinema, only this one - both of them makes me happy. Both of them smells like joy, but in a different way. 🥺

Every time my mom wears this I ask her what she is wearing. And every time I am taken by how beautiful it is. You'd think I'd recognize it as I've worn it quite a bit myself, but no. I can pin point every other perfume my mom wears as I have given her about 15 of the ones I didn't use much myself. PV is always a mystery, always smells new to me, which is amusing considering how mainstream and easy going this seems at first sniff. It's a gorgeous and very feminine scent that is never too much of anything, just very well balanced and very likeable.

If this is a "granny" scent, then she is a beautiful, wealthy, chic grandmother whom we should all want to be when we grow up. She doesn't spend too much time doting on her grandchildren because she has a life and it doesn't revolve around them. It's a sublime fall and winter scent with incredible sillage. Warm, inviting, and never obnoxious.

This is gorgeous! For such a modest price, it smells amazing, it has depth and complexity. It’s very sweet but not sickeningly so. There are white flowers and also honey, but it’s blended so well. I’ve had a lot of compliments. The bottle is beautiful and satisfyingly heavy, though I think the name of this perfume is not as evocative (or cheesy) as others out there. Pure class.

A disappointing blind buy, 30ml. The bottle is freakin GORGEOUS and so cute…the juice is soapy, powdery, expensive granny 😩 we’ve all hugged one, the type with perfectly coiffed hair and manicured nails. Gonna let the bottle settle for a while and see if I get any benzoin, praline or pink pepper in a few weeks, all I got today was rose, peony and shower gel type honey…

Place Vendome is hard not to like. It's sweet! I love the perfect combination of white florals with praline and honey in this. Don't be fooled though it's a mature type of sweet, I would even call this scent divine.

I’ve waited a long while to write my review of this fragrance, as it was a blind buy and I was waiting for my mixed feelings to settle one way or the other. They haven’t. There’s a lot to love about Place Vendôme, so I’ll start with that. This is so *not* a linear fragrance; it develops so much throughout wear. The opening has an effervescent, almost champagne-y quality to it (as I don’t pick up the pink pepper strongly on its own, I’m guessing it plays a role here). The wood is present from the opening through the drydown, but it just rounds things out. About 30 minutes later, the honey and floral dominate. I don’t get a single floral note, and I don’t really pick up the rose. For me, it’s more like a bouquet of yellow flowers. Place Vendôme gives me a mid- to late-spring feel. So, where the mixed feelings come in: I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, but I get a Play-Doh note that is really prominent. In fact, on me, it dominates the fragrance. And that bums me out, because even when I layer this with other complementary fragrances, the Play-Doh is ever present. For a fragrance that otherwise features notes that I adore, the perfect smell-storm of this combination of scents and in these proportions apparently goes full Play-Doh on me. I will keep experimenting with layers, as there’s enough charm in this frag to keep me trying. But I do wonder if anyone else is bumping up against the same phenomenon.

Oh wow! So, so pleasantly surprised by this (very inexpensive) blind buy! For me and on me, this perfume is BEAUTIFUL. I'm wearing it for the first time today. I put it on and left the house for a Target run, for basic stuff like aluminum foil, cat food, etc. and I felt like some kind of domestic goddess walking around with my red cart! Although it deserves a much more elegant venue than Target. It does have a similarity to Jimmy Choo Illicit, which I also really enjoy. Today it is gray, rainy and cold where I live - Place Vendome feels just right for the weather, as it is warm and enveloping with the honey, praline and cedar notes. It's kind of like half-gourmand & half-floral - a stunning combination. Some reviewers below feel the vibe is too vintage. I disagree with that, but this fragrance does have depth. There's a little bit of seriousness to the sweetness, and it is very classy in that way. Obviously that won't suit every occasion. Timeless, classy, warm, beautiful bottle and cap! Intoxicating and signature-worthy. I can't wait to wear it again!
