Goddess Intense

i keep coming back to this as its so beautiful there's a lovely spice with the vanilla and its so sexy. Amber and vanilla with spice - perfection.

Haven't worn Burberry Goddess in a while. Saw "Goddess Intense" and decided to try the Intense version instead of repurchasing "Goddess." For me, Goddess Intense is absolutely unwearable. There is something in the perfume's opening that makes me nauseous. I think it's the combination of intense lavender, dense heavy vanilla and patchouli that simply does not work for me. The lavender smells medicinal, the vanilla is cloying and the patchouli smells animalic. Truly horrible, awful. I won't even bother trying to resell the perfume because it's that bad. Colossal blind-purchase fail. It happens...

I am absolutely obsessed with this fragrance. First of all, it feels like what I want Libre Intense to be, because I love the fresh and strong lavender note, but Goddess Intense lacks the floral heady quality that can make Libre overwhelming for me in certain situations. The lush stack of vanilla is so yummy, so rich, there is a really interesting depth to this that comes across as luxurious and sexy, there is a sweetness but not sickly so, more caramel not powdered sugar like so many new vanilla fragrances. The patchouli is pleasant for me and never overpowers, and it adds a nice dry spice to the sweet drydown. There is something about this fragrance that smells of cocoa butter to me too, which comes out more in the drydown as well. I can smell it for a long time, but I don't see this as something where you are going to overpower a room, it stays pretty close to my body like a warm golden cloud. When I first wore it my husband laid in bed next to me at the end of the day and said I smelled so good, like churros haha! Lastly, if there are any fans out here of Lush's Sleepy lotion, Goddess Intense really reminds me of that, which is what instantly attracted me to this fragrance on the first spray.

Definitely spicier and more intense than the original Goddesses.Vanilla caviar and patchouli makes it very dominant and spicy.

Initially when I read the notes I was intrigued. Three types of vanilla? Wow! I’ve never been against overly sweet perfumes either if it turned out to be too much. I’ve always been looking for a good vanilla perfume. Unfortunately, this smelled terrible. I don’t know exactly what the hype is around this scent. To me; it smells oddly like mildew or wet basement. A more accurate description I’ve come to is it feels like trying to mask the scent of mushrooms with sweetness. It just doesn’t work.

Intense where ? I can’t smell this at all for some reason. I thought with it having vanilla as the main notes I’d smell vanilla but I’m just getting a fresh/ powdery type smell. I’ll let this sit in the cupboard for a few months and see if that does anything. I was so excited to try this 🫠 Edit: a months gone by and it’s definitely turned into something I hoped it would be! I also smelt the original after purchasing this. Now I know why this is the ‘intense’ version.

I agree with someone who said patchouli graveyard. I haven’t bought the EDP version so I cant compare to the original. I bought it because it has 4 vanilla notes and usually my skin projects them but on this perfume I can only smell a powdery patchouli and absolutely no vanilla. It’s kind of nauseating to me, specially before dry down. Not worth it. 18 hours have passed and this damn patchouli is still on my skin

Does not work with my chemistry. This is straight up caramel corn on me. Why is caramel not listed as a note?

I am obsessed with this intense version. Love it on me , love the projection and always get compliments. I’m almost done the bottle but definitely buying this one again

recently i thought to wear this on a day that was going to be warm enough but not humid & a bit chilly in the morning. it worked so well in exactly this weather. i get the best compliments when i wear this from 'mmmm' (men) to 'oh my god, it smells so nice in here' (women). i still don't know what 'patchouli' really smells like in a perfume. i have lots of perfume that has it as a note but i guess it smells nothing like actual patchouli which i hate the smell of more than anything. Intense lingers in a room & i have also received compliments that were more thoughtful than those mentioned above, people love this on me and it's heaven to smell on your blanket later, by accident. the only way i can describe it is like-a deep, dark lavender that isn't sweet at all. i've tried other non-intense versions of this & did not like the overt lavenderiness which was sweet & i also don't like lavender. this may have a lot of deep bitterness which counteracts with lavender perfectly.

Intense>EDP>Parfum It’s similar to the EDP, but it has a slight cocoa-like scent, making it my absolute favourite. There’s no hint of patchouli. It’s a sweet, woody fragrance. The Parfum contains raspberry, which doesn’t suit me.

I got this last year, everybody who's ever smelled it on me was very pleased, I got asked what perfume it was sometimes, got only compliments overall. I personally love vanilla scents, and I found that this one worked well with my skin and was very long lasting.

I second OceanOphelia‘s comments below, except I still love the OG but in warmer months for a lighter vanilla. I disliked the intense when I first got it a year ago and I’ve since rediscovered it this year and holy moly! It’s all I want to wear. It gives a white chocolate feel to me alongside the vanilla. The lavender is also toned down and as someone who isn’t a huge patchouli fan, this is absolutely fine on my skin. Can’t wait to try the new Amber flanker!

I've tried all three Burberry Goddess iterations (OG EDP, Intense, and Parfum), and the Intense is my favorite, hands down. The OG is pleasant and breezy, but weak. The Parfum is a beast, but the suede note ruined it for me; all I could smell was a syrupy sweet raspberry pushing against smoky leather, like the stale scent of a fruity cigar lingering in a biker bar. The Goddess Intense, however, is stunning! The lavender plays so well with the vanilla: floral, herbaceous notes comingle with the comforting, creamy scent of vanilla done four ways (the bourbon vanilla is the standout here, providing a tantalizing, boozy punch). The patchouli in the drydown gives off a light earthy vibe that tones down the sweetness of the heart notes. I can't get enough!

Initially I did not like this at all. Around 12 months of oxidation and a more educated nose had me giving this another go to compare it to the newer Parfum. I really like this now! Admittedly, needing 12 months to improve on the shelf isn’t ideal, but now I love her. She’s a deeper more wintery version of the OG. (The OG is one of my go to summer vanillas!)

After loving Goddess, I was excited to try Goddess Intense, as I am a big fan of patchouli and hoped it would add a grounded, earthy element to an otherwise creamy perfume. Sadly, I didn't get any of the patchouli and the lavender stole the show, leaning into Febreeze for about an hour before finally relaxing into a mature vanilla scent. It dries down nicely eventually but I'd rather stick to Goddess itself and and find an earthy scent to layer with it. The search continues!

Comprei sem querer a versão Intense do Goddess e estava até que relativamente tranquila, porque tinha uma lembrança de ter notado tanta diferença, mas me enganei demais. Eles são bem diferentes. A nota da lavanda é bem proeminante, logo na saída fica até um pouco ardida para o meu olfato (contratipo e original) e o Patchouli também é bem evidente para mim. Mesmo com a baunilha mais presente na pirâmide olfativa, ela é menos "equilibrada" pra mim, no sentido de se fazer menos presente durante a secagem, como acontece na versão tradicional. A baunilha também se torna um pouco mais fresca, mais aromática e não tão cremosa quanto na outra versão. Pro meu perfil olfativo, infelizmente não é o meu favorito, mas pode agradar quem procura algo mais maduro e sofisticado. A fragância Intense me parece mais complexa e me remete a uma mulher poderosa, decidida.

Woah. The opening of Burberry Goddess had me halfway to Sephora with credit card in hand. Goddess opens as a beautiful, sophisticated, well balanced salty vanilla patchouli. It's rare to find a sophisticated vanilla so I was ready to pull the trigger on a full bottle. Unfortunately, about an hour into wear I got something like a screechy burnt sugary saffron that reminds me of Baccarat Rouge. I don't enjoy that smell because it hurts my head and makes me feel nauseous (BR lovers conversely might really love this). Saffron isn't one of the listed notes but saffron, patchouli, and burnt vanilla are the entire drydown to me. Burberry "Her" has the exact same screechiness to it, which is probably also why I didn't like that one. I put my credit card away. If anyone has any recommendations for a salty vanilla patchouli that the Goddess opening is, I would love to know.

Ok, she's pretty. That Lavender and Vanilla give it a playful femme, Chemise a la Reine running through a field of flowers as she's being chased by her man but, then once the patchouli walks in as it warms up adds that sophistication to it. Don't yell at me but at first it reminded me of a scent from the 90s involving my Granny. I think it's her old Lincoln that was filled with hostess cakes along with her perfume at the time so that's what throws me off a bit because it then puts granny on the brain. If I push that aside I love this for the imagery vibes I get and can also appreciate having that reminiscent memory attached to it. I think I may get a bottle of her at some point.

When I first bought this I loved it and then something happened and didn’t want to use it but I had 2 bottles then one day I just started wearing it for everyday use and now it’s my signature scent every time I wear it people love it apparently it smells expensive so I just bought another bottle it’s a keeper suits my body chemistry for sure a lioness

The opening gives me the smell of petrichor, I enjoy this for half an hour. Goddess Intense goes through a journey on my skin personally, I actually wish it were linear like other reviews mention. It goes from good to bad to good again to bad again. After the lavender petrichor like smell goes away, it turns into an extremely creamy scent that also just smells like typical mens designer perfume but add mayonnaise and sugar, I hate this part. It lasts from the 30min mark to about 3h later. I have to pre-plan if I'm going to wear this scent which is getting a bit cumbersome. I have to remember to put it on before I am getting ready or something. Also because this one is super strong, I feel self conscious when I spray before heading out, especially if I'm stepping into a car. However at hour 3-7 it smells SO GOOD. Like pure, deep vanilla extract. It's my favorite part. It's not cloying or sweet but very addictive and warm. I wish I could extend this part of start it earlier -- if anyone has figured it out could they write me? I am unsure how to offset the cloying creamy notes are from the first couple hours. After 7h, it becomes flat, overly sweet and lacking any skin smell. It doesn't smell like vanilla anymore either, just flat and sweet. I can't smell my skin under it. It masks it with a cloying layer of sweetness.. this part actually lasts but I hate it. I am trying to fix this by layering Molecule 01 or Diptyque fleur de peau edt for the musks under so that there would still be a nice skin smell remaining of sorts. Otherwise it totally smells like sugary nothing. Even compared to how my bare arm would smell. I usually love when fragrances have that post fragrance smell but this one of all of mine does not at all. I feel like this scent has no air inside it, it really feels as heavy as thick cream, when I would like a little bit of a breeze in there. I am unsure how to correct it. I am conflicted because I love hours 3-7 but otherwise I hate it. I've been wearing it mostly indoors. One time I did wear it in the heat and my skin amplified all the creamy notes and it was a cloying, awful experience. It was only two sprays... I am so conflicted and may just want to sell it. I used to like it but after I smelled some vanillas with some air in them like Guerlain Angelique Noire, Spiriteuse Double Vanille or Diptyque Eau Duelle.. Goddess Intense just smells a bit artificial and heavy to me now. Goddess Intense retails for half of the luxe vanillas up there but I honestly do not feel like it is half the quality even at least on my skin.. lets say even lasting power wise and end skin smell.. its not even close.. The others smell like vanilla even like 10h later, like photorealistic vanilla with extra complexity up to even 15h later there is still vanilla. Intense has photorealistic vanilla for a small window for me but also no complexity throughout. Personally for me I have never smelled the woods in this. It smells like lavender petrichor > vanilla cream with extra milk + any mens designer perfume > true warm vanilla > just some sugar in some milk with no vanilla I will say that I think my skin amplifies sweetness, vanillas, and creamy notes. Yours may be different but I'm struggling with this one. Compared to original Goddess I still prefer intense though, its deeper and more complex and more addicting. OG Goddess is very light and overly sweet on my skin, also has some notes that don't smell good to me. It never really develops into the deep wonderful vanilla that is inside intense. Intense smells better throughout but how can I get that beautiful rich vanilla dry down for longer? That part is good!!! The rest is horrid for me, I do not feel confident wearing this out. There are no winters in my country so I can't relegate it to another season. I'm still in a hopeful stage where I am trying to see if I can fix it and if anyone has any tips to counter creaminess and over sweetness with no contrast or balance, I'd love to know

lovely vanilla scent, but i prefer og goddess. i think the addition of patchouli kinda ruins it for me

I love this perfume. All i smell is vanilla and it lasts a while. I prefer the intense to the original. The original smells minty to me. I almost did not get the intense because so many people hated it in reviews. But I get lots of compliments . I would say wait for the dry down. But I sprayed mine a couple time and let the bottle sit and now it's just straight up vanilla

This is what I look for in an intense version of a perfume. This takes the same DNA and amps it up 1000%. You have to like vanilla and patchouli to appreciate this fragrance. I think its a wonderful version of the original goddess. If you are spraying it in the store and you are only getting a sickly sweet vanilla...step outside and then smell it again. I promise you that you will get the original dna in such a gorgeous way.

I tried this as I see so much hype around this line. I do like vanilla scent profile generally. This perfume is not bad but I don't see why there is so much hype. Good, but not that special to my nose.

They should have gone a different direction with this. It's ruined by the patchouli :( I would've loved to see an intense that leans into the aromatic side more. Add more ginger, maybe some iris and amber. That would be DIVINE.

This is the sohpisticated, female version of Jazz Club. Oh my god, I can't believe a boring brand like Burberry could make this. You want mass appeal, but with mystery, and elegance? This is it. Nobody's gonna complain you wearing this. And it's pretty.

i understand why they call this intense in comparison to the original. I love vanilla. Sweet fragrances can be nauseating and if I apply too much of this I’m nauseated. It’s a pretty fragrance. Especially good for cold weather. For me in the very mild weather I found this dense sweetness might be too powerful for this weather. Best for a colder day. great longevity on clothes. In the dry down I felt it was more tolerable. Probably because it cooled down too. It’s 2 days later. A foot of snow on the ground and this is so much more pleasant to wear. Final verdict best wear in cold weather only.

I've never been 100% satisfied with any perfume. But this fragrance changed everything. I love every note of this, can’t stop smelling it. It’s very uniqe and probably not for everybody. Levander is strong at the beggining but beautiful and dry down is amazing too. This is my signature scent for a while and probably forever. Definitelly repurchasing !

asked for this for christmas after testing it every time i went to sephora. i love this perfume, i live in really cold areas so its so cozy for winter and a good date night/special occasion perfume. i find it a bit too basic for every day wear but that’s personal pref
