This is excellent. The comparisons to manure, sweat, dust are farfetched and ridiculous. Doesn't smell like TDH at all to me although I could understand how the bitter citric smell could remind you of the TDH line. The way the vetiver and earthy notes interact really reminds me of oud but it's surrounded by this gentle natural iris to not make this all the way middle eastern. I'd put this in same family as Tom Ford Black Orchid but better smelling in my opinion for a fraction of the price from discounters.
Impressive. Surprised with the eating! I have a few Bulgari perfumes, non got my attention like this one. Niche quality blend. With good performance. 4.3/5
To my nose, it reminds me of a more citrusy and sweeter Amouage Figment Man. It performs very well on my skin, especially in terms of staying power. I agree with the apt observation in @Mizugani's review below about the smell reminding me of sweaty armpits that pops up in my nose from time to time. I still like Terrae essence because I think it's quite unique.
It keeps a citric profile during the whole wear, fading grassy and green. The thing is sometimes it may smell dirty, kind of like sweat. It is a very specific kind of smell, I wouldn't mind wearing it time to time even it is not my favorite.
High altitude summer sunbaked desert vibes.
Of the 8 BVLGARI fragrances I have in my collection, this is my favorite.
Disgusting. Smells like an old man's wooden cabin. I could never recomend this to anyone, this is what you call "ultra-masculinity" in a bottle. Too Earthy; Not very clean. If you wanna smell like nature, I think you gotta stop here. If you wear this, your beard is probably down to your nipples and you probably smoke 2 cigars a day. Insanely masculine and not for me.
This scent is so unique, i personally think this hits like a higher end niche fragrance. The opening to the dry down it’s anything but linear. This goes through a few phases and I love them all. I have many of the fragrances listed in “reminds me of” and not one of them reminds me of this. This is not blind but safe and think you need to try this on skin to really explore it properly. On test strip this is nothing like it’s supposed to be. Truly shocked how much this impresses me.
I’m a woman that loves deep and sensual fragrances. So when I saw this perfume at TJ Maxx and I read all the reviews I decided to give it a try for myself. This is definitely like black Afgano. But softer and sweeter. It smells like hay. I’m guessing that’s what people called vetiver. but kind of sweet and syrupy. If that makes sense. So I guess the closest thing I would say is cannabis so definitely boy smells cowboy Kush or Carolina Herrera bad boy Le perfume the one in the black bottle. It smells like cannabis without it being fresh and dank. It’s very sweet and soft. It’s definitely feminine enough for a woman. It’s almost in the same neighborhood as a Rosewood or oud and Rose. That’s the type of vibe it gives. It could even be the stepsister to someone that wears Rose jam from Lush. It’s all very syrupy and deep. (I did not say they smell the same, but they give the same vibe.)
Let’s talk about the actual experience of wearing this fragrance .When you first spray it, it might come across as a bit 'dirty' . If you judge it solely by the opening, you’re missing the whole point. This is a fragrance that you need to understand and, more importantly, you need to give it time to breathe. The drydown is where this scent truly shines. Once that initial 'earthy' punch settles, it transforms into a incredibly pleasant, smooth, and high-end aroma. It’s sophisticated and masculine in a way that feels intentional. Performance-wise, it’s a solid 7/10 overall. The longevity is actually impressive
I am enoying this scent. To my nose, the earthy note isn't as abrasive as I'd hope for. This is very well blended, but I don't like that lol. I enjoy animalic barnyard oud notes, and challenging cannabis aromas. I get alot of the citrus loud and clear. The foundation of the earth notes give a rich complexity. To me this mix of citrus and dry earth makes it perfect for warm weather. I had the craziest experience when I applied this before my skateboarding session. I made sure I sprayed more than enough (because to me this is very "soft" on my nose). I was at the park for a skateboarding race course (pumptrack). Decided to clean my bearrings for my board behind my car, to ensure I was moving very fast with little resistance. Tell me why a car driving by in the parking lot reversed, and told me I smell SO GOOD. I expected that kind of reaction with red tobacco by mancera, but instead this scent made that happen! I was extremely flattered, and realized there is something about vetiver (or orris) that makes the opposite gender really react. Even my own lady said Givenchy society extreme is her favorite scent of mine (has 3 different vetivers + orris). I got this bottle specifically to see if I can notice those notes, and I cannot lol. I'm assuming its the powdery touch it adds.. idk. Anyway, this scent is a banger for sure.
Definitely not blind buy safe. Certainly very interesting though. It is definitely similar to Hermes, but more towards the intense vetiver. Hermes edt is much better than this. This is like a slightly less strong version of the intense vetiver. This is very vetiver heavy and earthy and that styrax note is strong strong. It's like a mix between Hermes intense vetiver and Varvatos Dark Rebel. Definitely a bold masculine vibe here. It's going to be polarizing. Not mass appealing. Collectors will enjoy this I certainly like it, but I have too many other bottles that are similar to this for me to be excited about it. It even reminds me of Lattafa oud for glory a lot Yeah nothing super unique if you own those, I probably will rarely wear it. Smells too much like other things. It's definitely redundant if you have Dark Rebel or intense vetiver. If you don't have any of those then this would be a decent option in this scent profile. Hate to say it but Morillas kinda phoned this one in The blend is super well done though. Come to think of it I might prefer wearing this over those other ones I mentioned so it might fill a gap in that sense
First olfactory image that comes to mind is a filthy martini. It's military clean, ya know? Not tech-bro forward with a girlfriend his same age. The lemonene in here forces it to smell less the niche than it would with just the citral. I would say it's a trouser snake squirter, but not if you're going to let it dry right down, because time+BO will take all the sensual nature out of it. You want to have this handy when the mature ladies come around who want that switch up from the tired old designer DNA's.
Managed to get my hands on a debut batch and damn it’s good! Special unique citrus note here. I only paid $39.99 well worth it. I also get a little bit of leather which isn’t listed. Very nice! Signature scent kind of stuff.
Essential wardrobe material. A deep smooth wood, with a hint of resin, and a slice of lemony/orangey zest. Just lovely. Spray liberally to get some decent performance.
This scent has evolved since I got it first. I also have learned how to apply this scent. I did not like this at all before, who knew this one needed to macerate and be kept on a shelf. Gone is the sour sweat smell from my new purchase. Now I get that faint citrus/calamansi in the open. Closer to lime than lemon. It quickly transitions into toasted wood and stays that way. For the entire duration. This is now my wood base for everything. I spray it on my chest under my shirt and for most of the day, all I smell is toasted wood the whole day. The smell of almost burning wood but not yet smoking. Then pause. Thats it. For the whole day. The top note just disappears with this method too. I then layer it with my favorite top notes.
This one smells dirty, like a dirty laundry bag sitting inside a hot car lol Sorry that’s my honest opinion after several testing and full wear and not gonna lie I really wanted to like it but I unfortunately don’t. I blind bought it thinking: oh this one is probably earthy, mineral… it’s actually pretty dense and strong in a pungent way. I respect those who really like this fragrance and wear it without remorse.
I don't understand the hate BMTE got based on some reviews here. This is a unique, niche quality, new world earthy freshie from the master perfumer/designer Alberto Morillas. He has done it again & proven once more that he is a true innovator & one of the greatest trailblazers in the world of perfumery of this generation. This is so addictive i can't get enough of it. It projects slight Oud Maracuja vibes with crisp, zesty citrus freshness & after the rain earthiness. Unfortunately BMTE is not getting the praise & recognition it deserves designed by one of the most talented famous perfumers of all time. I hope more fragrance advocates & connoisseurs get to experience this Alberto Morillas masterpiece, only then will long overdue admiration & appreciation continue to flourish & grow. I pay respect & rightful merit to the Maestro & 1 of my favourite perfumers of all time, A. Morillas. Thank you for your passion & for the spoils of your gifted craftsmanship that gave us insatiable pleasure to our olfactory senses & happiness throughout our entire lives. 💨☺️😍🥰❤️♥️♥️
I was upset by this fragrance I read all the good reviews I don’t know if I just got a bad bottle but this stuff doesn’t last and has a very flat smell. I just use my bottle as a car scent now. It doesn’t really smell like a perfume to me.
This is an amazing fragrance. If this were to get discontinued all of a sudden, It would start getting all kinds of love and the price would go crazy. For me, this is worth a backup model.
This is fantastic perfume. Alberto Morillas is The Master once again. My previous experience with his Creation was Philipp Plein No Limits.. - met with similar oppositional reactions. My suggestion to some in here who are so fragile, I guess, that scream of "nauseating" etc.. - don't shove your wrist into your nose with such potent juice! You want it last long and project, right? You know how to apply perfume vs eau de toilette, right? And one more - spray something popular on one arm and This - on other.. it blows away abused generic frags! - they fade in radiance of this Creation! Even inexperienced nose will suddenly become enlightened, when side by side like that. The Earthy base brings sense of stability and strength, there is great confidence in it. It's like an open road. Not modern/artificial.. it's ancient and weaved into harmony - feels like part of Nature. Above it - Citrus shines like open bright and sunny skies! It is unchanging over hours. Very reliable! Same time I won't call it "linear" - there is great depth to it. It is not for everyone. Not for all occasions either. It rather matches personality than occasion! And that's what great about it! Again - masterpiece from Maestro Alberto Morillas! As of now - it became my signature perfume, instantly. 10 out of 10 on all categories. Thanks.
This was a prank by Mr. Morillas. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes but how anyone can sniff this without retching is beyond me.
This is one of the worth perfumes i ever smelled besides gucci guilty
One of my favourite scents. This can be worn all year round. I first sampled this at the airport and I couldn't stop smelling my hand.
Usually earth or tar notes put me off but this one is in my top 5 fragrances of all time. 50/50 gamble for being called a mob boss or a calabrian clay cutter. Doesn't bother me though cause' I love it regardless.
Nose Note #613 This is indeed similar to MAB Encelede, to my pity. This vetiver+citron mix really presses the wrong buttons in me. I find it almost disgusting. Not many perfumes give me such reaction (just like Encelede). I don't feel like it's "too earthy" I don't feel like it's earthy at all! To me this has a very strong vetiver note that is almost identical to Encelede, but with added citron from LV Imagination. Terrible combo. Very strong, but terribe. Some people will definitely like it, but I really don't. One other way I'd describe it: Initio Oud For Happiness meets MAB Encelede. This feels somewhat licorice too. I can't believe that Gucci Guilty Absolute smells anything like this. This has nothing animalic about it. 6/10, unique, but feels awkward
The majority of these fragrances from Bvlgari, especially the ones that are early or woody smell like old man cologne made for younger men. It's not a bad thing because they definitely hit that mark . But they are just not for me. This one was exactly that . Very strong. The citron vetiver and orris really power through this one. It is a very outdoor smell. Or someone chilling in their cabin would wear this . It's not for me but it's not a bad fragrance. And someone mention it smells like Oud Wood , definitely a gigantic No on that. With patience you can find the box set at TJ Maxx for like $40 which is a super steal. A small travel bottle and the 3.4oz. not too shabby. I give this a 5/10
It opens with a bold citrus burst of citron and calamondin before diving into a dry, earthy heart of vetiver. Its performance is solid, with moderate projection (around 5 feet) and if luck holds, longevity of about 7+ hours on clothes
This fragrance is STA-ROOONG! Id applied 4 spritzes for work vs my usual 6 or 7 as it was my first full wear, and since I wasn't sure about how it would wear (Besides just spraying some on my hand) I didnt want to choke folks out at work if it was too potent. Well a few hours into my shift a customer whom I see at the store I work at all the time was chatting with me, she asked "Is that you're cologne I'm smelling?" I'd replied "I dont know, here smell my shirt" she said "Oh Yeah, smells good, but I think you sprayed too much on this time".. That was THEE FIRST TIME EVER someone has EVER flat out told me Id over-done a fragrance (which I truly actually appreciated.) Point is... be very careful with the amount ya spray on, ESPECIALLY for work or any sort of social gathering where ya dont want to come off as, well.. "Obnoxious!" Lol! Oh and this last a long time too. To be safe I'll say it lasts at least 7 to 8 hours on skin. This is legit entering "BEAST-MODE" territory. I really dig how very Unique it is, Oh and Gucci Guilty Absolute for Men ain't goth NUFIN' on Bvlgari Terrae Essence, especially in the performance department let alone the actual smell thats FO SHO!!🫡
This is Oud Wood. So it would have to be compared directly — to say anything definitive, especially regarding purchase and price.
