Mixed Emotions

this is quite aptly named. felt like brittany broski trying kombucha. HATED the opening. a few seconds later i smell pure barbecue sauce. idk what cigarettes people are smoking but this is nothing of the sort TO ME. eventually settles into a slightly medicinal blackcurrant, still with a hint of smokey barbecue sauce tho... i get a HINT of Rouge Chaotique. i suppose that's the fruit blending with the papyrus. RC is better.

last summer in la before they got rid of the 5ml sizes i flirted with a sa @ the byredo in the grove for a free one. then i proceeded to use it all throughout my very tumultuous and fun-filled summer, particularly while i was clubbing in shanghai and lkf in hong kong. full of strawberry flavored menthols you bum off strangers in lines for bars, fruity cocktails and too many free tequila shots. i could just inhale this high forever. three words to describe - tall dark & handsome!! very true to the name i probably wont wear this when i'm older though... boyf gonna buy full-size for me soonnn

It is blackcurrant, tea leaves and a light wood base, nice, clean, extremely well blended, fun and an energetic scent. One of the better ones from Byredo I'd say.

Smells like olives to me. Hard pass.

The best way to describe this is tea and jam in the British rainy countryside. I wore my sample to death in winter because it balances smokiness and sweetness, but found myself grabbing for it on rainy summer days too. My sample felt more smoky than my 50ml. This is not a safe blind buy but is very unique

Sampled on paper: smells almost entirely like blackberry hard-candy cough lozenges. Maybe some mate in the back. Not offensive or anything but like, it really does smell like cough drops.

Smells like Vicks menthol with some smoky sweetness , it’s not bad but wired & it’s not something you should wear

Fruit and cigs. Mixed Emotions is sooo much fun. I grab it whenever I'm getting ready for a night out, and I'm trying to channel the energy of BRAT summer and Charli XCX. Funnily enough, I just scrolled through some other reviews, and realized many people have also drawn the connection. It's playful, sexy, not too clean, a lot of the things I like in a fragrance. It's fruitier than I usually go for, but I'm not mad at it. One time I wore it, it lasted over 9 hours― I still smelled it in the morning after a night out (which feels like the epitome of the vibe Mixed Emotions is going for). It feels less daytime/summer, more nighttime/party-vibes. I also noted it can sometimes smell like Bath and Body Works meets 25-year old girl smoking a cigarette in line for the club. I was looking for something more youthful and unique than Jazz Club, and this hit the nail on the head. It's what I imagine Whiskey 1969 smelling like (though I've never smelled it).

I absolutely adore this fragrance and sincerely hope the perfumers never touch the formula. To me, it smells like the morning after a great party. Someone wakes up slightly hungover, steps outside for a cigarette, and carries traces of last night’s memories on their clothes. But without any of the unpleasant stale or boozy undertones people often associate with that image. It’s all smoke, cigarettes, tea, and fruit. A little messy, a little tired, but incredibly attractive.

Repulsive weird woody opening. Something dead you would come across deep in the woods. No mixed feelings about this. Not for me.

Blackcurrant Lempsip drink (UK flu medicine) which also starts to smell like hot cat piss as it dries down. I didn't hate it on card, but on skin it's vile.

Perfect name for a perfume that evokes intense ambivalence and hooks you with its weird contrasts, rather than with harmony or ease: sweet/savoury, fruity/smoky, fresh/dirty. I don't typically like either blackcurrant or black tea/mate notes, but for some reason I find this really engaging. Especially good to wear if you're feeling a bit rebellious/obstreperous and want to come across as cool but unaccommodating.

Ok, so this one was a journey for me. When I smell it on paper, I immediately fell in love with it, which prompted me to get a sample, to spend some time with it and see if I'd like to get a full bottle. When I put it on my skin, I was in love again - absolutely enchanted by the tea note in the opening, really enjoying the blackcurrant. But then, I gave it to sniff to my partner, who said: 'Oh wow, that smells like blackcurrant Halls soothers'. I laughed a bit, but then I quietly agreed. I didn't think it was a big deal. But I think then my love started to slowly disappear. I spent a few days with this perfume, and just couldn't stop thinking of Halls. I really enjoy the opening of it, and I wish the tea note would stay a bit longer. Blackcurrant started to feel a little bit overpowering in time, especially being outside in a quite sunny and hot day. I started thinking of those cigarettes with capsules you pop to release a menthol blackcurrant flavour, which brought me back to my teenage years of smoking flavoured Vogue cigarettes. I was hoping to change my mind on drydown, which at some point started to smell more smokey and leathery, but that reminded me of a cheap, leather bag. I wish it was more smokey on the drydown! Overall, I think I might not be a target for this one. It's a bit too sweet for my liking, and I can't get the Halls out of my head. It gives a very Y2K vide, I'm imagining a very cool party girl wearing it - the one that's wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses all the time. I totally get why Charli XCX was wearing it. I wanted to love it, and I loved it for a bit - but it became a little bit of a disappointment for me.

Perfect sweet Smokey scent. The dry down is where the magic happens with this one. 👌🏽

Reminds me of Junk by lush, but grown up. I swear I get something mentholy? Minty. Chilly, tingly.

Это просто ужасно! 😭🤮 это мессиво пахнет настолько ужасно, что у меня заболела голова от этого и чуть не вырвало! Это просто какое то издевательство! Я поражена, что у этого прекрасного бренда с такими приятными ароматами как Библиотека есть такой ужас! 😭😭😭 Коротко о том, как пахнет: представьте конченую сыр косичку. Вдруг, её случайно уронили в пепельницу, где давно валяются с десяток бычков в воде. Это мессиво лежит где-то парочку дней, настаивается так скажем. Вы уже не выдерживаете этого смрада и решаете побрызгать сладким освежителем воздуха, что делает ситуацию только хуже. Так и появился данный аромат. мало того, этот малый ещё и очень едкий! Я помыла свою руку парфюмированным мылом 2 раза и побрызгала сверху ещё духами хорошими,но эта ерунда всё равно зловеще проглядывается. Это кощунство над моим обонянием, нервами и деньгами. Никому не рекомендую!!!

This is one of my support workers favorite perfumes to smell on me

great black currant and tea note on opening made me spray it on skin after an hour it's a powerful leather with a subtle fruity spice. it is only pleasant if you enjoy leather unfortunately I have some flash backs from my accidental gucci guilty absolute purchase a few years back so it's never been something I have enjoyed. maybe in a decade or two I might enjoy leather

You went to winter hiking by yourself. Snow is so beautiful in the nature and you enjoyed so much of scenery. Sun goes down quickly in wintertime, so you check your warth and figure out you gotta hurry to comeback your cabin. When you come back to cabin, you turn on candle and start to make a firepit to cook dinner. You are sitting in grass and listening crikets. This scent reminds me that vibe.

Мне нравится этот аромат и немного смущает. В нем правда есть лёгкие ноты кошачьей мочи. Но не постоянны, а короткие. Это смущает. Я боюсь, что люди вокруг это почувствуют. Но мой муж не слышит этого. А нравится мне этот аромат тем как он играет. Он пахнет зелёным чаем и табаком, потом ментолом, потом снова зелёным чаем. Шлейф у него сладкий. Жареного мяса и дыма я не чувствую
