I didn't like this the first time I wore it, but subsequent wearings were more enjoyable. This opens with a blast of spices and a little bit of bitter orange to offer some freshness. After about 15-20 min the bitter orange begins to fade and the spices become more dry and in your face. I can pick out cinnamon and cardamom in the mix, but nothing else stands out, it's mostly well blended together to give a nice spice accord. After a couple hours the spices fade into what I can only describe as a sweaty cumin & woods base, and that's where you remain until about the 5-6 hour mark when the fragrance becomes a skin scent. This dry down reminds me of a weaker version of Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir's dry down. I think Déclaration Parfum is a decent enough offering at a fair price from discounters, especially if you love warm spicy fragrances and you prefer more mature scents. Performance on the other hand doesn't match what you would expect from a parfum concentration: projection and longevity are both just average here. In conclusion, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a decently priced warm spicy mature smelling fragrance. And if you know what I'm talking about with the sweaty cumin thing, and you don't like that, avoid this at all costs. P.S. The bottle is nice too. Atomizer is average.

Too powdery to my taste, so I have challenged my wife to finish the sample for me.

This really isn’t a scary scent to approach in my opinion. I don’t think it deserves that reputation. I am picturing an ambery, almost toffee like sweetness paired against a woody/leathery backdrop. It is quite deep, dark, and mature with smooth class. Actually even better than I expected. 8.4/10

I'm only going off of a sample that I was given, but I don't really get how in the "reminds me" section, the first two are Declaration & Declaration Essence. Yes, they have the same DNA but I feel like this to those is like Encre Noire A L'Extreme to the OG Encre Noire. To my nose, this is so very different from the original Declaration. This is one I wouldn't dream of wearing unless it's below 0 celcius. The Parfum, to me, is one of my favourites from this amazing house. Rich, spicy, very dry (almost arid) & put together so well. I'm not necessarily a longevity guy, but this lasts, and lasts. I also don't spray my clothing (or at least on purpose) & I'd highly recommend the same for this one to anyone reading this. If you've ever smelled Byredo's Tobacco Mandarin, I'd put this in the same kind of category. They don't necessarily smell alike, but for wearing situations & just how it can/will punch people, they're definitely in the same class for me.

Can I say that this is what Terre D'hermes Parfum supposed to be? Great stuff. Not for kids though.

to me, the only “bad” thing about this fragrance is that the cumin note was a little too strong. still really nice though, but that cumin can be a little redundant sometimes.

Анонім

Beautiful spicy scent, but sadly a bit too much for me. Highly preferred the EDT formulation where the orange was more prominent. Here I felt like the spices were a bit too forward and it just didn't feel the same way. Won't be trying it on skin.

I received Déclaration Parfum as a gift a few years ago. It was not on my wish list, and at first I did not expect much. However, right away it has quietly become one of the strongest pieces in my collection. Even though I own several niche fragrances, this one – together with Terre d’Hermès – is something I keep reaching for during the colder months. It simply works. It feels made for cold days and absolutely has a niche feeling. The scent is masculine and serious, dressed-up, yet at the same time cozy and rounded. There is a soft, almost melancholic warmth to it that makes it very comforting to wear. It feels mature without being old-fashioned, elegant without trying too hard. It is versatile in a subtle way: perfect for the office, but equally pleasant outdoors or during the evening. It never feels loud or aggressive, just smooth and enveloping. Even though sandalwood is not listed in the notes, I often get a creamy, woody impression that reminds me of sandalwood and gives that familiar, reassuring pleasure (maybe thanks to the cardamom??). I have never tried the original Déclaration, but this Parfum flanker honestly feels like an underdog. I rarely hear people talk about it, which is surprising considering how good and easy to wear it is. The bottle is also very nice – simple, elegant, and solid. The only downside is the cap/sprayer, which broke quite early (the moving part that is used to block the sprayer), probably because I tend to carry the fragrance with me to the office every day. Overall, a very good fragrance and a reliable cold-weather companion. Quiet quality, no drama, just consistent enjoyment.

Wonderful parfum!! Bitter orange opening is so interesting- dirty, yet sophisticated. The cumin note is blended in and follows through the middle. It is somewhat spicy, a little earthy and sweaty but, is very sensual and pleasant. The dry down I really like - it is a very earthy, leathery, cedar finish. It stays intimate and sensual and still has some projection. I am a Sauvage EDP guy normally but this contends as a new normal!!! Yes, It does smell like a wooden boat load of bitter oranges and dirty pirates in leather as a previous review mentions but, in a good way!! Overall, I love it!!

not for everyone d, id say its more of a mature classy fragrance im a young man and i find it hard to pull it off although i like the smell, had it for years and the older i get the more i appreciate it.

This is at the edge of the designer fragrances. Looking at what the popular "niche" world like PdM, Memo, MFK etc is throwing around these days, this could be easily a hit in the niche space. It's thick, that bitter orange mixes sublimely with the boat full of spices. In fact, that's what it smells like. A boat that was full of ripe oranges and all the spices the world has, had a crash and everything mixed , along with the woodiness of the boat and the really used up leather garments of the sailors. By the way, these sailors haven't had a dip for a few days so there some BO involved. Ohh wait, that's the cumin. Leaving the poetic description, this is a mildly challenging fragrance for the lovers of spices that not easily wearable but definitely rewarding when you spritz a few on the back of the neck. Long lasting but not a monster, beautiful but not quite delicate, original but not revolutionary. What i'm saying is that I will take this over hundreds of so called niche fragrances coming out in the past few years. This stays smug on the shelf of the designers, throwing an ironic smile when the average guys passes by and grabs that 10th flanker of the Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel or YSL Y. Don't pass this, grab it, spray it, give it some time and find the rewards.

Got a 10ml decant last year. Tried it. Again and again I absolutely hated it. The seasons are beginning to change so I thought I'd give it a go just in case. Wow, this stuff is beautiful. Very rich. Lots of depth. Projects well. However, I sprayed the back of my hand and it definitely smells better at a distance. I'm guessing that's the gag? I'd buy a bottle but who wants to wait a year for it to macerate?

Анонім

Sampled this. This also has the armplt smell of the EDT only stronger. I'll pass.

The orange note is good on clothing, but on skin it becomes more dirty. Also overall, it smells like a herb store or my grandma (who uses those products) to me, probably the cumin & spices.

My second most complimented scent, ever. Second only to Versace Pour Homme. Go figure. With that, no lie, i had random women complimenting me. Once, early in the morning, while on my way to work, a woman emphatically uttered: “You smell divine!”. Nothing since has garnered that many compliments or that type of reaction. This happened when it first was released, as I’ve always purchased different smelling things and got it in the latest and greatest. Declaration Parfum, on the other hand, is no slouch either. Albeit, i haven’t worn this in years. I wore this one night and had this extra bad woman at Barneys NYC’s fragrance section (i LIVED in that place) say, also emphatically: “what IS that???” with this infatuated, dreamy eyed, look. Remember, this while in, at the time, the purveyors of the most niche offerings in NYC (more than Bk’s Twisted Lily’s, the old Oswald’s and MiN NYC.). You can imagine how wonderful that area smelled and she singled me out (the 5 or so sprays i was wearing [🫠] certainly played a role, too). Although, once i told her it was from Cartier, this look of embarrassment came over her face. Undoubtedly a niche snob 😆 Any how, Cartier’s best mainstream offering in my estimate.

Nose Note #618 Cartier Declaration is one of my favourites. This is my third Cartier Declaration. The OG, Essence and this. I was expecting something else, but it's essentially just like the original, except the spices are really heightened up and I'm afraid I don't like this choice. Now it smells even more like spicy Doritos. I like the OG and Essence more, they are more fresh and citrusy to my nose. But in the sillage you will probably not smell any difference between the three. Just like the others - performance is wonderful. 8/10, better stick to the old guns, this 2018 can't top it

While back I bought a bottle of this, when Declaration is what I had wanted. The girl working grabbed the box and bagged it for me. I was on vacation in Florida, and never even looked in the bag until I had flown back home. I've worn it some, but not nearly as much as some others. If anyone would like my bottle and have something they would trade for it, let me know.

Анонім

Oh also to add to my review- you can detect the same declaration base, but these really are completely different beasts. Im not often interested in flankers but i do own both the edt and this parfum because they are for sure very different if anyone was wondering

Анонім

I have such mixed feelings about this but ultimately have the same qualms that i have with the original edt- after the sharpness of the beautiful opening wears off the actual drydown that comprises the majority of the wear experience is disappointing (and imo ends up being an overtly feminine lipstick-y iris leather, which seems like it was clearly not the intention) I understand seeing mixed comments on here about there both being more cumin-y spices than the original and others saying the opposite- because to my nose, both are true. There is more BO/bbq-y spices in the opening, the cumin here even reminds me a bit of how it smells in overture (but not that loud)- but even though there seems to be more spices, they also take more of a backseat in the composition and arent as forward facing as they are in the edt. I wish the spicy element was built more into the base because it feels a little too fleeting for me and is needed to round out this fragrance. The opening of this fragrance is perfectly balanced and interesting and atypical- also ruggedly western aesthetically which i love. Its bbq spices and leather and a dark orange (it actually reminds me a bit of noir epices by frederic malle, but i find the accord to be done better here) and the perfect amount of background sweetness to balance it out. I will say even though i like the amount of sweetness, i feel like there is something that isnt completely well blended about it, it can contrast awkwardly with the darker aspects of the fragrance instead of intermingling beautifully and i can understand another commenter saying it gives them a headache even though it doesnt do the same for me. I want a sweetness to feel human but its a tad too synthetic and perfumey here. Anyways, as i said after the sharpness of these opening elements fade away it continually becomes less balanced and the impression im left of this scent is that of a feminine iris leather- which if thats your jam this would actually be quite beautiful, but that isnt necessarily what this fragrance is advertised to be and i am not big on either lipsticky iris or leather accords so im not a huge fan- as well as being let down that this is the outcome of such a beautiful and balanced opening. I love the idea of this but cant help but feel like the execution is lacking. Leather hits me as a cold note- it is non human, and not really animalic either, it is cold and synthetic, peoples associations with the smell of leather is really that of manufacturing chemicals- so this really needs that warm human aspect of cumin and cardomom to both balance this composition out and also keep it smelling like a masculine fragrance which this is supposed to be… a shame because this has such potential, the ruggedly western opening is so good and would be signature worthy for me if the spices stayed throughout the wear

This smells like the original Declaration with good performance, but the downside is that this is too powdery. It has too much of a baby powder smell for my liking. I hope Declaration EdP fixes that

Анонім

Honestly I love this. Was at the Cartier counter and liked but didn’t love until I sampled this. It was a little strong at first, but what a stunning fragrance. It smells so unique compared to all the department store generic fragrances. Opens with a deep subdued citrus, mature, a little spicy. The cardamom definitely comes through. I don’t detect a lot of cumin like the others. I absolutely love this. However, I wished it lasted a bit longer. I wore it to dinner tonight and felt like nothing was left after a few hours and that was on my clothes. Perhaps it needs to mature a little. But otherwise, if you like spicy citrus scents, this is a must buy. Dried down slightly sweet and powdery.

Анонім

While I can appreciate the quality of this fragrance there’s just one thing that makes this a pass for me. The cumin. For me, it really does come across as like hot body odor. It pretty much stays for the duration of the longevity too. Totally ruins it for me.

Анонім

I was given several samples when I made a purchase at a company store. This is the first cumin fragrance that I would consider wearing. I am getting orange, cumin, spices. There is also something creamy going on that I like. This is very dry. I think it could benefit from a little sweetness. 8/10. Longevity is good. Nearly 12 hours later I am still aware. I generally like my fragrances to project more but if this were louder it may become unwearable. So let sleeping dogs be. It still thing this would benefit from a little sweetness. Not much, more encens suave. Less pink sugar.

Declaration Parfum is a spicy, woody and amber fragrance. The opening is loaded with dark spices with a charming accord of cardamom and black pepper, as well as balsamic notes due to benzoin and tolu balm and I even found an almost acidic woody touch, as if it had oud. As it develops, part of the DNA of the Declaration line emerges, with a subtle cumin, cedar wood and also a leather accord, which were already shown from the original Declaration. Once it reaches its drying phase, it leaves an aromatic and sensual smell of slightly salty amber. Declaration Parfum is the dark and amber version of the original EDT from 1998, ideal for use during autumn and winter, both day and night, formal or special situations. With me its longevity reached 8 hours, but in clothes it lasted more than 12 hours, it has a regular sillage, at least noticeable to those around you. I already liked the EDT version and I really liked this one too. It's a shame that it practically causes my wife rejection.

So damn good. I absolutely love it. Lasts all day in my skin. Last longer on me in the fall. Highly recommended so go ahead and blind buy it. You won't be disappointed 👍🏽

First impression from a box sprayed: big time shaving foam. Who doesn't love this barbershopy smell?

I get something between Dior Homme Original and Terre D'Hermes. Extremely high quality for that price point... Unbelievable high standard! To me smells niche. Love this juice. Very gentlemanly and sophisticated.
