Lira

Too good, it almost drives me crazy sniffing my arm. Normally I would hate this kind of perfume, but it's got a dry edge with the beautiful lavender that stops it being a true gourmand, and the sweetness is natural-seeming and restrained. To me it's 100% unisex.

I don't know how Lira made it onto my list of fragrances to try― I'm not a gourmand girly. It's buttery and carmel-y with a lemon-y scent coming in during the drydown. Then the lemon fades away, and it smells like dessert. I said "ew" out loud. It does smell like someone I've known before, but by the feeling this smell gives me not someone I liked.

Absolutely magnificent, and pretty unisex in my opinion. It opens with a very pungent citrus, that quickly dries down into a beautiful lemon cake(or lemon meringue soap from the brand “labell” if you’ve ever tried it) type scent. The only gripe i have with it is that it does stain yellow. The longevity is pretty good and the projection is also there but not overbearing. Definitely a compliment beast

I won a giveaway for a dupe for Lira (which I ended up not recieving afterall, a long, bummer of a story which is beside the point) so I figured that I should get my nose on the real deal. This is absolutely delicious, yet unusually refined. I can see why it's so beloved! It opens with a soft, somehow elegant citrus, which veers slightly aldehydlic. Lemon? Sure. But softer. Impressionistic lemon. What follows is a silky white floral, topped with caramel, and what reminds me of saltwater, salted caramel taffy. Some cinnamon too thankfully...which reads as realistic and natural (not artificial or overly spicy like RedHots candies), but decidedly *cinnamon* and not some vauge spice blend. Given time, it fades into a more cakey affair. A light lemon sponge cake dusted with powdered sugar. With...a perfuminess in the air somewhat still. It's gourmond, yes, but facets of it are still quite floral. Fun and refinement attain harmony within this one. It's worth experiencing even if you're not a "gourmond person".

This fragrance is pure gold. I don't like very sweet, girly perfumes and I was afraid that it will smell exactly like that, but this perfume has so many layers that compliments each other so much. It is sweet, but in the best way possible. Smells like expensive lemon curd cake, very cozy, light and absolutely delicious. I will wear it in winter.

Lira feels very moody to me. Some days it is just cloying and meh! I wanted to get rid of it. But this smells amazingly in outdoor! Projects and lasts forever!

Gosh. Where to begin? Lira is divine! Sparkling, citrus in the opening, vanilla lemon cake in the dry down. Beautiful sillage. Lasts all day for me and even longer on clothing. I will forever come back to Lira. Love, love, love! 💛

Why am I so disappointed with this? Smells like an artificial fake citrus with undertones of sweetness, and Coty Vanilla Musk on the dry down. Blind bought this due to the brand, implied luxury, price point and everyone’s hype but it’s very disappointing. No longevity or projection on me what’s so ever. Gone within minutes !!!!! Easily see how this can be cloying. Not great that the bottle is fully painted and you can’t see how much is inside. Smells cheap. Ps. For the price, they should’ve replicated the portrait on the box and larger bottle for the 30ml as well.

Turns out more is more! Lira understands something many gourmands do not: if you want to evoke dessert, there is no need to bludgeon the wearer with synthetic cake. The only truly literal note here is caramel. Everything else is a collage of things adjacent to food without ever fully becoming it. The citrus-vanilla structure may be my favorite kind of gourmand. Blood orange gives the opening a bright lift and keeps the fragrance out of that infantile “vanilla cake” register so many modern gourmands never escape. I was prepared to dislike Lira on principle, given the presence of two notes I usually resent: lavender and rose. Yet both are handled so well that neither turns it grandmotherly. The cinnamon, too, is excellent. Warm and spicy, but without turning it into a Christmas candle. Lira is very much Art Nouveau in spirit: ornamental, decadent, succulent, slightly excessive, but with enough structure to avoid vulgarity. I am also fond of its campier sensibility. The promo photoshoot of those Marie Antoinettes against a white backdrop clutching an oversized bottle is not incidental. It also completely outclasses perfumes like D&G’s Devotion. Yes, they both play in the citrus-vanilla space, but Devotion smells like a cheaper attempt at the same craving. Lira feels layered, historical, and deliberately opposed to the teen body mist category. Wearing Lira feels like a small act of ceremonial indulgence, like buying an expensive panettone from a boutique bakery in Italy and eating it sparingly to prolong the experience. I finished my first bottle with absolute delight!

basic af and lowkey nauseating. the citrus and vanilla feel don't sit well together here. i don't love gourmands though, so if that's your thing, you may very well enjoy this.

If I did not have a preference for cleaner & non-toxic leafy green fragrances & an aversion to sugary gourmands, this would likely be my top pick at the moment. Lira has a lovely blend of beautifully aromatic spices & herbs behind the predictably delectable lemon pastry, making it much more interesting and complex than others in its category (ie Devotion, Akro Bake & Victoria). My only issue is that the dry-down is somewhat metallic & overwhelmingly licorice-y, due to what I assume is the anise. Still, this is nice. It's far less cloying than most & overall, if you absolutely MUST wear a gourmand, this is a good choice.

Not sure why it is a winter fragrance. I feel more summer and female. Caramel is very present

Nauseatingly charred sugar and sickly fake caramel. Loud and horrid, as all scents we intensely dislike are. Flat linear type scent - made me want to wash my nostrils once I didn’t feel so sick.

The queen of all gormands.

Both D&G Devotion and Lira smell like vanilla cake with lemon. Lira is a little less sweet, has notes of spice and caramel, the citrus is more realistic, and oddly I do pick up a lavender note. Lira is the better choice if you have the money for it, but Devotion is good too if you like this DNA. I find it good, but nothing that wows me. Of course freshly bakes vanilla cake smells good, but it's not my favorite thing to wear.

It smells like a vanilla cake with lemon cream, drizzeled with caramel. It's pretty, it's sweet and i can see why this would be a gourmand lover's dream. It's a feminine leaning unisex. My husband wore mine once and he was able to pull it off. I have it and i like it myself, even as a fruity-floral girl. I have also smelled Cream Caramel from Gulf Orchid which is inspired by this and i was surprised by how good it was. Really creamy and smooth, not a screetchy knock off at all. I thougt i would mention this since Lira is pretty pricey.

I get a pretty strong iris with this one but it isn’t listed as a note. Some smoke in there too

Opens up like a photo realistic lemon pound cake, and dries down to a sweet, slightly medicinal vanilla smell. Can't speak on performance but no one is lying when they say lemon pound cake

A gorgeous delicious warm spiced sugary vanilla-lemon gourmand. Is sweet without smelling cheap.

Sampled this on paper. Folded up the paper and sealed it in an empty ziploc bag I happened to have in my purse. It was that good. I’ll think about it forever until I end up buying a decant… probably closer to the fall season, though I think it can be a year-rounder. Point being, I’m not usually a gourmand superfan, but I really adored this. There’s something a little lonely about it, like the sort of woman who doesn’t rely on anyone else. Soft sweet lemon without being juvenile in any way.

As a realistic gourmand lover... I am so confused by the love this fragrance gets. To me, it's such an odd, perfumey, acidic clusterf*ck. I'm clearly not the customer for this scent, and I'd never recommend it, but I'm glad it's found its people!

This is amazing and it is unisex. Yes it is marketed toward women but it is a unisex fresh vanilla that is perfect for summer. This smells amazing at all temperatures and times of day but it really shines in the heat. I don't know why most people are saying this is autumn and winter only, it definitely works for summer. Casamorati is an Italian brand, they understand how to make hot weather safe scents. This opens with beautiful freshness and a hint of vanilla but the sharp edge is taken off the citrus and lavender by the jasmine. The jasmine is not strong or noticeable here, it is only present to soften the top notes while still allowing the fragrance to remain fresh. Over time the vanilla becomes more prominent as the top notes reduce but the vanilla never becomes sweet, cloying or overwhelming. This is masterfully blended and easily my favourite summer fragrance

I’ve just opened my winter bottle for the year (Australia), and I’m instantly ready for the oncoming long nights, rainy days spent curled up reading, cooking warming food, the lot! Lira is the epitome of winter; it’s fresh and crisp at the open, and slowly warms with the day into a caramel vanilla dream by bedtime. Forever a love.

Orange spice cake but airy...I can see why people might choose to wear this year round, but this is a fall/winter fragrance for me. The spices remind me of holiday desserts. This fragrance disappeared on my skin within literally 5-10 minutes but lasts days on clothing with moderate projection. Test on fabric if you have a similar issue!

Doesn’t last long on my skin but it’s an intoxicating creamsicle while it’s there- weirdly more summery than fall for me given the notes

Multiple reviewers marked this fragrance as long-lasting, so maybe I got a bad batch (or the formula has recently changed)? This is nothing but a barely-there whisper scent on me: no silage/projection, and almost no longevity. I don't understand how citrus isn't one of the main accords listed, because this is a citrus bomb. I don't get bitter orange, just bergamot, specifically a light and bright lemon. I have a pretty good nose, but I can't pick up anything floral, only a hint of cinnamon and vanilla in the base that create a mild caramel vibe. I don't even get musk. Lira is almost intangible and makes me sneeze when applying. I'm terribly disappointed. The scent is lovely but so incredibly weak, I can't justify a "like" rating. I prefer Casamorati's Fiore D'ulivo, which has a stronger scent profile that hangs around for much longer.
