Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif

Tried this in store and was quite disappointed. The EDP and Parfum iterations of BDC are the magnum opus of the "blue" genre of fragrances. This is worse in basically every way, and they reward you by charging the most of the entire line...? End of the day its still solid, but missing some of the citrus that makes the EDP and parfum special. There is a tuned up amber note that makes it more generic in my opinion. Save yourself some cash and stick to the classics. Subjective score: 6.9/10

A mysterious and dark 'blue' scent that transitions to a rich leathery amber. A beautiful combination, very very good. Sauvage Elixir, one of my favourite ever perfumes, is my brother's signature & I've spent so much time looking for something like it, but different to call my own. This may well be it. Downsides; very pricey, and projection seems mediocre from my two weeks or so wearing. Also - best fragrance I've got for layering

Kinda did a 180 on this fragrance. I love this stuff. Its still got that "basic bro" blue smell, BUT, the amber in here makes this so refined and elegant, especially as it dries down. Very nice and dark for a blue fragrance, with a unique leathery ambery edge. Its deep and dark but still very wearable, unlike sauvage elixir and extrait which are so strong and hard to wear because of the projection and very strong spicy quality that those have. I also got this for a decent price. If you can find it for around $250 CAD I think thats about the cutoff point where anything above is not worth it to me. Overall: 9.5/10 (Full retail price is nuts).

I've had this bottle sitting in my collection for almost 6 months now (funny how time flies so quickly). I can see why some people compare it to Dior Sauvage Parfum but to my nose, BDC L'Exclusif leans much more towards a refined amber fragrance. So far, I haven't given it a proper wear to the office or on a day/night out. I've only done a few light test sprays on my hands. I should probably change that soon and see how it performs alongside some of the other rich amber fragrances in my collection. In any case, I picked up this 100ml bottle at 99% full for about half of retail, so it's hard to complain. At that price, it feels like a very solid addition to the collection.

Alright this is easily the best Bleu de Chanel flanker ever, think the original DNA but with leather and a ambery sort of resinous dry down. It’s overpriced tho

BDC line will always be amazing no matter what. For me Parfum and this one really takes it to the next level even tho a lot of fragsnobs hate it, calling it basic and over priced. But lets be real, there's a reason why Chanel is known to be one of the top designer fragrance houses in the world. Quality is peak, may not be niche level but its at the top of designer level. This one takes the next step, moving on from the parfum, setting a smokey atmosphere for the fall and winter, colder weather days. It doesn't scream at you but it makes a statement that you are the mysterious badass you are. It doesn't make you smell like you cry for attention, instead, it makes you smell like the man who priortizes yourself first. Compared to Dior's elixir, i def pref this. May be more for the mature audience tho. And for all the ppl who buy clones, while some get close to the smell, Chanel always has that quality that they can't match. When we wear Chanel, we know we are wearing Chanel. Nothing beats the authentic feeling

I have a sample and omg the creamy wood note makes me cum and shed a tear at the same time and the warmness makes me feel like am in a warm wood cabin fuck i love this but the price is my only negative point about this perfume.

Definitely the most masculine and richest-smelling fragrance in the line to my nose. The dry down is where it really shines, showcasing its richer notes. Whenever I catch a whiff of it, it makes me feel the most mature out of all the Bleu de Chanel fragrances. A couple of days ago, I was smelling the atomizer, and it reminded me of something, but I couldn’t quite place it. Then it hit me—it smells like the interior of a brand-new car with leather seats. Such a wonderful scent. I will say that two sprays are all you need with this beast. It truly projects. Even a few hours in, I could still easily smell it in the air around me. I think this could absolutely be a signature scent. Just adjust the number of sprays based on the season and the occasion.

There are some scents in my collection for which I say “ waste of money” This is definietly one of them, cause there s nothing exclusive in this at all.

Chanel's L'exclusif really is a stylish, attractive and solid performing fragrance. Its more than capable of being a worthy companion all year long and any occasion with perhaps better choices available only at the height of summer or a day at the beach! Apart from that it's very agreeable and more. I've always liked the Bleu de Chanel range and purchased the very first edt release many, many years ago. I never continued on with the evolution of this range though. Not for any specific reason but more that there were many scents to discover not to mention a huge amount of other blue fragrances and of course still are! Like everyone, I tried L'exclusif on release and felt it was nice but not quite worthy of the hefty pricetag for a designer fragrance. For some unknown reason, over recent times I've found myself being drawn back to this profile and in particular this scent. Which is a surprise to me as I have a decent collection with a fair few higher end and niche offerings as well a a fair amount of designer and middle east perfumes of all genres and prices. So why did I finally acquire a bottle of the most controversial release of the BDC range? After a little thought I realised that sometimes you just want something that is stylish enough to satisfy the artsy/artisan side of perfumery but also still allows you to wear it any time you want and in any scenario you might find yourself. The sweet spot of safeness, reliability and quality of a great house with enough flair to satisfy and offer just a little something extra to elevate it enough to distinguish itself from the crowd. The blue element is still easily identifiable of course but with this particular perfume there is the added sophistication of resinous, ambery and musky facets with just a touch of leather. The overall effect is a true mix of all these elements with something gently animalic occasionally showing It's never unpleasant though, it actually adds a lovely deep roundness to the overall aroma. This is the grown up version of BDC, probably more for older men 35 and above, well dressed and with a little more about them than the usual designer fragrance buyers! Performance is on a par with the profile of the target audience, solid projection for an hour or two. Around a metre at most initially then dropping back to half of that distance for at least another 6-7 hours. Sillage is equally elegant too, people will detect this as you pass by for pretty much a whole day and well into the evening. What I find is that it's performance and profile is enough to keep me and others interested but without the danger of fragrance fatigue that I sometimes get with high power, beast performance perfumes. Simply put; it's a high end, elegant fragrance that is a standout option for everything from the office to a family occasion or a special event and anything else you can think of. Currently available with a discount of around 20% in the UK, that pushes this into a more affordable bracket and definitely worthy of consideration.

Anyone else can smell that this is close to Dior Sauvage Elixir?

i have a sample from chanel of this, it smells like a bare-bones version of the edp or parfum, but it's as though chanel took all of the good parts from those concentrations and amped it up. so it is pretty nice, not going to lie, but it's not really for me. i will still prefer a more complex edp and parfum version over this, and those 2 just seems more mass-appealing and easier to wear as well. if i had a full-bottle of this, i would only consider wearing this during cool nights out.

This is a powdery version of BDC, which in my opinion is a great thing! I have tried to love BdC since it came out but never really did. Kinda of annoyed me actually. BUT then theres THIS version. Its got the DNA of the OG but it adds a powdery cloud around it that I just love. Im tempted to buy it. But honestly the price is silly. If this was more realistically priced Id love to own it.

I tried one spray on my arm. Went to a full sunny day in the countryside, high heat, went to sleep, woke up 24 hours later and still had the scent in my arm. Not a slight vague skin scent, a full scent. Longevity is really strong.

I won't hide from you that on [18/08/2025] I shared my opinion about this fragrance, and I was somewhat unfair to it, considering it was about a year since its release. I received it as a gift from my brother, and I was surprised it was this fragrance. He knew I didn't have a good opinion of it, but he told me, "Your opinion will change with experience, please give it a chance." I used it for a month and discovered I was wrong about this fragrance, which truly represents the essence of the famous Bleu de Chanel. It captivated me and left me speechless over time because it is truly beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Yes, it's worth owning and worth the price. Thank you, Chanel 10/10

This is so good, my best of the year so far. If you want to smell unique, go for this. Winter Occasions Performance is strong in both. Bottle design is so good I think it's for people above 35 years It could be unisex. You won't regret it.

Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif is the best in the Bleu de Chanel line and a masterpiece by Olivier Polge. As a someone who loves woody fragrances, this smells rich with an incredibly refined and smooth sandalwood in the base. It has a close DNA to the EDT and EDP, but with no citrus notes providing freshness, it isn't as versatile. It is a heavier and thicker fragrance suited towards an autumn evening or winter day, and I could see someone with class and elegance wearing this. However, unlike the EDT and EDP versions, I feel like this is more interesting, and rather than just an inoffensive, crowd-pleasing designer, it borders on niche quality with a distinct, sophisticated character. It is such a shame it has quite an expensive price point; I will have to settle for a decant.

Dry den stinks like weed, gross

So I guess I’m a rare case when it comes to this one. I happen to love all the flankers. The original is probably my favorite but this one here is great. I get a hint of Le Lion with BDC Parfum. It’s my darker favorite of the line. It’s expensive but which Chanel isn’t? Definitely sample before you buy but for me I love it!!

This is ambery dark leathery and soapy scent developing to the familiar bleu de Chanel dna as time goes by. It gives me Dior homme parfum (the original version) vibes but then it takes another direction. To my nose this is a winter perfume best worn during the evening

Sweet woody scent, reminiscent of Dior Savage edp, great for compliments but highly mainstream

What a price for a nivea men body mist

I dislike this pretty much, some people could wear it anyways and it could even suit them, but overall it has some sort of "coca cola candies" smell that I do not like at all. Way too harsh during the opening, never going away even after hours. I can't have this all day long coming out of me lol performance seems ok, I did not test it that much and even washed it because it was annoying me I would not recommend this perfume, nothing incredible, and I personally do not like it anyways

Now this is how you do an extrait! Opens with a dark, almost smoky woodiness along with your classic BDC DNA. It smells like BDC but wealthier. This fragrance lasts quite a long time but doesn’t project super far, as to be expected at this concentration. I think that this is an interesting take on BDC. Perhaps one day I'll bite the bullet. I really enjoy the bottle, though; it’s a much nicer shape than the others.

If this was in private line bottle nobody would call it overpriced, this is very high quality juice. I've tried all the dupes, you just can't replicate this scent cheaply in my opinion, too many naturals. I truly love this stuff, the drydown is immaculate, I never seek performance but it is very nice to have it last all day. Top 5 designers of all time for me.

It's the balance for me. You smell it all, but nothing too much.
