My experience with this Perfume has been quite disappointing. The scent is linear, featuring light floral notes in the background and a dominant citrus note. The aggressive patchouli stench overshadows any semblance of rose, jasmine, tonka bean, or vanilla. I can barely detect those notes on my skin. I'm not familiar with what the original Perfume smelled like, but this formulation comes across as cheap, boring, and generic. It doesn't take me on a journey and feels poorly blended, with some rough notes that clash. The overwhelming presence of patchouli reminds me of a cheap hippie incense. After an hour, it settles into a skin scent. Fortunately, this fragrance doesn't project much on me. After 3 hours, I can hardly smell it. It evolves into a sugary, citrus mess, with the strong patchouli lingering on my clothes and skin. While the Eau de Parfum (EDP) is slightly stronger and the Intense version is less bright, they are quite similar, so if you have one, you may not need the other. Overall, I find this Perfume overpriced for what it offers, as it seems the quality notes have been stripped away. It smells strikingly similar to Gabrielle Essence, which I also dislike. In fact, this is my least favourite Chanel Perfume, and I feel the quality is very poor and sickly.
This is insanely strong. Trust me, even if you don't smell this on yourself, you are absolutely choking people out. I had this and had to get rid of it because 2 sprays of this was suffocating me. It smells great, yes, but it is just too cloying, especially in Summer heat. One woman was wearing this near me and she filled the entire room with her scent. She said she couldn't smell it on herself, so I am assuming she sprayed herself 900 times, and you could definitely tell. It's a no for me.
I have both EDP and EDP Intense, but unfortunately, they don’t have much sillage or longevity on my skin. I’ve tried every technique to make them last longer, but sadly, nothing has worked. I might try the body cream and hair perfume to see if they help enhance the scent. I had Coco Mademoiselle many years ago, but I was probably too young at the time to truly appreciate its beauty. Now, I’m completely obsessed with it — it’s addictive, elegant, classy, and so unique. sadly i think ten years ago, the quality of the perfume was way stronger than the new batches
When I wear ths during summertime ☀️: I *WISH I was a lesbo bc when I wear ths I would do myself. Most feminine erotic summer scent I’ve ever known in my fragrance-head life Maybe I’ve crossed the final boundary of age… but Chanel no longer “smells like my beloved Nana”…. Chanel is 39+ yrs of age DIVINE HEAVEN ON EARTH - Literally the holiest of Holies! I dare you to attempt to change my mind!! IYKYK COCO CHANEL INTENSE FOR LYFE - *** Reformulate & somebody D I E Z DFWM***
the first Notes that invade my Nose are Patchouli & Roses. where I am a Rose- Susceptible person i.e. easily Affected by all Roses this isn't a surprise. meanwhile I have learned to recognize the Patchouli ironically where I have the age to have smelled this Plant, Herb, precisely in the 1960s and 1970s. I had to however re-remember it as how it smelled then and out of which scent profile the versatile aroma of Patchouli was used. Earthy, Herbal, Peety, slightly Minty or just ideosyncratic: a scent all in its own league. here the Patchouli defined the Coco Mademoiselle I knew from 2001 (I had the Edt & Edp) not entirely anew but used the Grounding and Humus Character of Patchouli in an enforced way to instill in the Edp Intense an interesting countering toward the Champagne-like Fizz of a Full Hesperidic Arrangement (Sicilian Orange, Calabrian Bargamot, Lemon plus 'Fruity Notes') all at once, which to my surprise I could all smell. (if this is a new thing or, a fact that I can actually smell Citruses in Creed, Chanel & Versace!) there is a clear Fizzy Acidulity and Juiciness defining the Champagne Character of Coco Mademoiselle already since 2001 and here with a more (gradually) supported and longitudinal effect. this appears in the form of the Roses and Jasmine, slowly dawning into a Chique Junglist Voluptuosity with Madagascar Vanilla, Tonka Bean, White Musk and Labdanum all lending a quasi- Tropicality with help in each fase from the Exquise yet at the same time Brutalist use of a Curated Patchouli. Olivier Polge knew how to maintain the signature of Chanel in this (then new) rendition of Coco Mademoiselle Edp Intense. it still is this High Class and Ladylike perfume to be swathed at ones' own risk.
I bought this for my girlfriend, it smells fucking amazing. I almost want to personally wear it!
Very disappointed that this is identical to the original CM, despite note differences - and of course it's more expensive. So it's likely another high-end brand marketing device, which seems a bit futile for something that doesn't need pushing - it's far too popular now, which is sad.
definitely has that chanel dna, smells too much citrusy for my taste, a fragrance that I would not recommend for those under 25s, in simple words it smells like a luxurious shampoo and luxurious wet wipes.
Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle is a fabulous perfume. the Edt, the Eau Privé, the Edp and now this Edp Intense. I just veered along with all Éditions. it starts juicy, while I am bad at singling out specific Fruits. perhaps the Bergamot and Lemon make the opening Hesperidic. this in a charming and chic Chanel way. the opening doesn't fade away so quickly. yet already I can smell the Roses and Jasmin, the typical Chanel duo. then an Enigma arrives. I am old enough to have experienced the real Patchouli Oils of the 1960s (my teens) and 1977 (my twenties, if that is a correct expression). I think I have always liked them but can't really remember what sort of scent it had. apparently Earthy, with a vague Minty, Tart smell conjoining. (from the Labiateae Family like the Mints and Majoran and Nettles ... ) I have no problem at all with Patchouli. but some people can differentiate so well between the Patchouli in different sorts, fases and the grade of dryness or freshness or just murkiness. this last quality I love. the best Patchouli I smelled I gave to my straight twinbrother. Farmacia Annunciata Patchouli Indonesiano. that was perfume and it was smashing. sadly they discontinued it. but I try to isolate the Patchouli scent here and suddenly I thought: what you smell now is Patchouli, with the Hesperidic opening (still going on) and the Exquisitely balanced and blended Florals de La Rose de Chanel and La Jasmine de Chanel en Paternariat avec Communautés Aroma Agrestiques de Grasse (I fantasise but it is true). so three pillars: Patchouli (always supportive to) Roses and Jasmine. a Heady Bouquet. Musk, Tonka Been, Vanilla, Labdanum ensure a soft landing kind of Hypnotic. the Champagne fizziness of Coco Mademoiselle isn't lost in the Edp Intense. this is a Chic, Sophisticated perfume while it wears long and in its Sillage is Présentiste, Époustoufflante, Exquise et avec Super Chanelissime.
The drydown of Coco Mademoiselle Intense reminds me so much of the discontinued Coco Mademoiselle Body Powder- which I absolutely loved/adored. Whenever I wear this, I receive many compliments; it never fails. I like to layer the Coco Mad. body oil and body cream, topped off with a few spritzes of Coco Mad Intense. The trail is beautiful and it makes me feel empowered and confident. This is a timeless, full-bodied fragrance which is always appropriate and an easy reach to elevate whatever you are about to do from work to a formal event. People may say: "this fragrance is overly popular", etc. but in my experience, I have only ever encountered 3 or 4 other people who were wearing any form of Coco Mademoiselle in my 15 plus years of wearing Coco Mad and ZERO people that wear the intense since I started wearing it in 2019. Also, When I worked for Chanel, the Eau Tendre was far more popular than Coco Mad. during the time I worked there. I believe the Coco Mad line is clean, fresh, memorable, and absolutely beautiful. There is nothing else quite like it, and I always come back to it.
My mom wore this when I was growing up so its entirely inextricable from her in my mind. It's beautiful but mature for sure. Unless you're like Dua Lipa type I wouldn't recommend this for your 20-30 age group. Maybe that's bc its a "mom" scent to me. A classic through and through.
Smells nice; elegant and expensive, but also sharp and soapy. Quite honestly there is no singular scent that comes through to me. It smells like “the perfume that is a classic woman’s perfume.” Refined, classic, and polished. I have lots of samplers of Coco Mademoiselle Intense from Chanel that I use for most daytime special occasions: baptisms, Easter, and events like that. It also seems like a natural choice to wear it when I’m wearing a suit with perfectly done hair and makeup, going to a daytime professional gathering where I don’t know anyone and want to make a strong, good first impression. But it’s too sharp to make it a daily fragrance, this is a special occasion fragrance for me. I think I will use up my samplers, but I probably won’t buy this fragrance, though I’m on the fence. That said, I enjoy it just fine, but I don’t receive that many compliments on it. I almost wonder if it projects. When asked, I’ve been told it just “smells like good expensive perfume, nothing exceptionally special, but not bad.” On the other hand, I myself notice it lasts 10-12 hours and the dry down has been my favorite part, it becomes warm, clean, and gentle. I definitely pick up on the vanilla, musk, and tonka beans; such a comforting combination. Maybe Chanel isn’t 100% my thing, but this has to be recognized as a great, timeless perfume. While Bleu de Chanel is one of my favorites of all time, I’m not sure that I’m as much of a fan of their women’s line. Once I run out of samplers, I guess it will be the true time to decide if I really want to purchase this fragrance! I think it mostly comes down to whether one has enough special occasions to wear it.
Was gifted this from my mom because she was done with it. People of all identities are acting feral to this. Might as well put on the red riding hood cape.
The best perfume on the planet. Words cannot describe how much I adore this scent. For me this version is way better, than the original one.
I cannot say I can recognize it from the original Coco Mademoiselle. Only on a trail it feels more controlled scent-wise. More organized and less organic than the original creation. I don't really know if it was needed, only that it is the son effort at refining his father's creation. It is flirty and ultra-feminine, seductive and glorious but so is the original. Surely my husband recognizes it as strong. I don't really feel it as more intense. I prefer Coco Mademoiselle in the afternoon, evening and night but it is charming obviously also during a day. In my free time always a pleasure. You can always recognize Coco Mademoiselle on people. With time it develops spun sugar quality while the original is floral. It lasts all day, very slowly becoming a personal bubble and is infinitely elegant. Well worth the money contrary to many offerings.
This is a gorgeous, classy scent that opens with a burst of citrus, plays with fruity and floral notes (so well blended, I honestly can't distinguish the individual notes), and dries down into something lush and sensual. On clothes, I can pick up the sweetness of the labdanum and the muskiness of the patchouli, maybe even a hint of vanilla. On my skin, it takes on an almost soapy quality that's not unpleasant. It smells luxurious, like you just stepped out of the shower at a five star spa. This scent is the best of Chanel and can be worn by a self-confident woman of any age. It's not sweet or obvious, definitely not gourmand, but it's bright and elegant and, dare I say, romantic.
Only Chanel perfume that does not smell outdate or mature lady like (in a bad way). This is fresh...floral candy and dry...great performance.
I scored a bottle of Mademoiselle Intense for a great price a couple of months ago, and it just keeps getting better with time! First few sprays/wears were very citrus-forward yet intriguing to my nose, but it's now a charming floral patchouli with vanilla in the background. You can tell there's a lot going on behind the scenes with the notes, yet they're so cohesive. The vibe reminds me of Mon Guerlain Intense which is another favorite of mine. It also skews on the mature and composed side, but it's never stuffy or dated. I think if you like one, you'll appreciate the other. ;)
Maybe it was a bad bottle I smelled, but it smelled like POO!!!!
Coco Mademoiselle *Intense* comes closest to the Coco Mademoiselle I remember from around 2005, when I first bought the original. Before reformulations added some sharp, abrasive note that spoiled it for me. This one feels smooth, elegant, and beautifully rounded… just like the original used to be.
I agree with RINA parfumstylist, Coco Mademoiselle Intense captures the DNA of the original but is warmer, softer without losing its presence. I wore Coco Mademoiselle for many years as my signature scent when it was released and this slight variation is what I needed to fall in love with the line again. Coco Mademoiselle Intense has rounded the sharp edges that caused me to shy away from the original. This fits now, just gorgeous!
I recently got this back in my collection and didn't realize how much I missed it. until now! I get compliments constantly, every time I wear it. People always ask what I'm wearing and tell me how good I smell. I do own a dupe of this fragrance and it's excellent, too. Complimented often and a fraction of the price. Even so, I'm glad to have the OG again. 💜💜💜💜
I have Coco Mademoiselle Intense in my collection since it's launch. I cannot describe how this fragrance was an instant love to me. It's a perfect harmony to my nose and skin. It makes me feel very elegant, joyful and feminine. There's no place or weather I cannot wear it. Winter or summer, day and night Coco just elevates me. My husband loves when I wear it and always get friend's compliments. Beautiful gorgeous fragrance.
This is a bold, unapologetically feminine fragrance, the kind that can easily become someone’s signature. I picture a woman who carries herself with quiet certainty, wearing it like it’s second nature. It leans more toward a mature taste, though that doesn’t mean a younger woman couldn’t pull it off beautifully. I don’t reach for it often, not because I dislike it quite the opposite. It’s impressive. It just doesn’t feel aligned with me. I don’t think I can truly stand behind it as my scent. It has a strong, commanding presence, so if you’re looking for something soft or airy, this probably isn’t it. I have a client who wears it all the time and on her it makes perfect sense. She’s exactly the kind of woman who can carry that bold energy effortlessly and it suits her incredibly well.
At the post office today a woman smelled amazing & I asked what she was wearing. She said Chanel Intense. I think that means this one - COCO MADEMOISELLE Eau de Parfum Intense? I told her I was jealous bc I’ve tried Chanel perfumes & none of them smell good on me… But it smelled absolutely stunning on this lady! I never knew patchouli could smell so feminine & beautiful - I’d even say divine! Body chemistry makes it or breaks it. I’m happy for her that this worked so well.
Coco Mademoiselle Intense to me is when I say, "It's Chanel, baby." This is probably going to be my favorite Coco perfume. It's considered a "neo-chypre." I've always loved chypres, especially when it has patchouli and amber. I read somewhere CMI is similar to vintage Mugler Angel, but without the praline sweetness. I would agree. The dry down has a woody and a tad medicinal which makes CMI unique and different from Angel. Some may not like those qualities though, I love it!
This is my favorite fragrance. I use it every day. It is definitely worth the price, And it lasts all day on skin. Definitely worth it.
This is a new re acquisition for me. I suspect I wore the original back in the early 2000s and I completely forgot about how much I love this perfume. It is the epitome of feminine and sexy and signature and this is coming from someone who has a lot of niche and high end designer fragrances (I’m looking at you Louis V, Boadicea the Victorious, and Carolina Herrera) that I’ve been recently selling. The way the fragrance evolves and the longevity is chef’s kiss. I am sorry I didn’t get the bigger bottle. I’m starting to realize the quality of these older fragrances compared to the hyped ones that costs $$$$. I hope it always stays.
The longevity is impressive, still there when I wake up the next morning.
It's not a single-note scent, but a really well-blended, complex fragrance. A very feminine, dominant perfume. It might trigger migraines in those who suffer from them
