Beautiful, classy, sophisticated, serious, professional. That's the kind of woman I imagine when I smell this perfume. It doesn't really match my personality but I don't care. I love it and will wear it anyway.
I just crave a little boost of the peachy accord in Coco Noir every time I smell it.
There’s been a lot of people who get mad when a scent is categorized as having “old lady vibes” I’m not going to let people gaslight me into thinking I should apologize for it . Coco noir smells like a woman heading into menopause I have the Chanel coco edp and that one has a little more zest and less of the rustiness that’s in noir.
I keep on testing this perfume because I can never remember what it smells like. Completely forgettable.
This perfume smells like a variation of Coco Mademoiselle, they share same DNA, but it is not similar to original Coco EDP. At top it is citrusy and very musky, patchouli is not intense and dirty, it is light and very dry, to the bottom it becomes quite sweet, tonka bean, vanille and sandal are noticeable, slightly spicy and still citrusy. Silage is weak. Longevity is moderate. Citrus ingredients in this perfume have very good quality. I Also liked the base dry down. There is nothing noir about it, rather feels decent and plain. Most sophisticated thing about this perfume is its bottle.
This perfume is beautiful and absolutely UNISEX
I thought I liked Mademoiselle Intense -- bought it, used it, almost suffocated myself, got disgusted, and sold it. After trying several Chanel perfumes, I was ready to give up, thinking that the house just wasn't for me. BUT then I decided to give Coco Noir one last chance, and something just CLICKED. This is absolutely lovely! It's less sharp than CM, and to me, it feels more rounded. Not really anything ""noir"" about this scent, but it is gorgeous. I'm in my mid 30s, and I feel like this is perfect and age-appropriate for me 😂🙏
Imagine you are a 1950’s lady wearing a polished and well tailored black outfit. That’s what this smells like. It smells sophisticated and classy like most of Chanels fragrance line. Definitely very mature I could never imagine ‘juvenile’ smelling this. I know this might be crazy to say but I associate this perfume with funerals (not in a bad way), because I wear this with black dresses or majority black colored outfits. It’s a nice perfume but not a safe blind-buy. Get a sample before you commit to the purchase. It’s a nice chic perfume but I could see it being polarizing. A guy said this smelled like a rich girl; I would say that is an accurate statement. 1 spray is enough. the silliage is great, longetivity is ehhh. It’s spicy warm and dark; it is not a light sterotypical floral. Jacques Polge Knew what his vision was regarding Venice and nighttime. If you know who Monica Bellucci is, this is a fragrance I would imagine her to wear. 4.5/5 just might not be for everyone .
Perfect for night out and dinner meetings! I realized that man also loves this scent, it is attractive and classy.
My first Chanel perfume. I was wanting so much more from this. It's bland. A bit of rose perhaps?. It's at best something you'd wear to meet the in-laws or going to a job interview. Inoffensive. You cannot compare Shalimar to Coco Noir.
My absolutely fav 🖤🖤🖤🖤🥀🍷👠
One of my fav winter perfumes. I wear her when I’m out with my girlfriends for cocktails. I feel luxurious and I’m in love
its ok. grown woman scent
@Katora#1 YESSSSSSSS SHALIMAR IS SICKLY SWEET HONEY SCENT I OWN BOTH CN AND CMI
I feel like everyone who compared CN to Shalimar... hasn't ever smelled Shalimar Or CN at all. These fragrances smell nothing alike. To me it smells closer to OG Mademoiselle. So, if you hate the latter, please try CN on skin and don't act on reviews or sales assistant blabber.
I’m gonna need someone to explain to me why there’s a million fakes of this when it’s not necessarily an extremely popular perfume lol
@NDL1876 Sorry to break it to you but although this is a coco flanker, it still resembles mademoiselle a bit. So beware lol
One of my favorites. I'm a dude (41) and I rock this. Not a graphic t and sweat pants type of scent, but at a bare minimum dress slightly elevated casual with a nice watch like you give a damn. Much like a british accent, this pretty much gives you permission to be an asshole. Absolutely love it.
This scent is classy and magnificent. It's my signature scent, every time getting a lot of compliments. I love it, but the longevity disappoints, since it doesn't last on me for longer than 5-6 hours except in the hair. Citrus is strong at first, and gradually it transfers onto powdery road. Magnificent. I really hope it will not get discontinued.
Very, very weak on my skin
Just gorgeous! Nothing else to really say Just wish it was stronger
I absolutely love this perfume. It's elegant without being too formal, and the florals, woods, and sweetness are incredibly well blended so they all carry equal weight. Like other reviewers have said, it's a blend of coco mademoiselle (minus the "brightness" or less heavy on the citrus) and coco (minus the vintage feel). Though it appears to be a winter fragrance, I actually found that in cold weather, it has almost no lasting power. But now that it has started to warm up, it retains this amazing dry down of soft rose, geranium, vanilla, and tonka that I can only describe as smooth and comforting. On me, this is definitely not a "beast mode" fragrance and sillage is minimal, which is what I prefer. I don't want to choke people out who may be sensitive to the scent and to use perfume as an accessory, not a room spray that lingers long after I have left. But if projection is important to you, you might need to layer this or else you might be disappointed. I hope they don't discontinue this because it's not often I find something that I like so much and isn't incredibly overpriced.
This is a beautiful scent. People have no taste in smell. This is a unique smell, slightly dark and sweet at the same time. It’s not a mature scent it’s just strong.
more like coco sec, since it's rather dry and nothing much dark about it. love it.
Although I’m not usually drawn to sweet fragrances, this one is among my favorites because it has a certain depth and melancholy. I tend to wear it in late fall and throughout winter, especially in the evenings. It reminds me of a ballerina in a black tutu, almost like a Russian girl who has left Moscow for Paris to study ballet.
I don't understand the reviews. I absolutely love Coco Noir, it's one of my most favorite perfumes. Coco is also included at the top of my list. I do not like Coco Mademoiselle at all. It gives me a headache. I put Noir up there with Shalimar, but somewhat softer. I don't get soapiness at all. I think if you like Shalimar or Coco, you will probably like Coco Noir. I prefer Noir to Coco. I wear it any time of the year, but I do think it's an evening Fall/Winter scent. I always wear what I feel like, but I live in the Sonoran. It's only got two seasons here, Hot and Not Hot.
I’m testing a sample on a cold day outdoors. Initially liked the first spray to my wrist on first impression. I’m reminded of shalimar and coco mads fragrances. Reapplied to other wrist I’m picking up something familiar that doesn’t agree with my skin chemistry. Couldn’t name it. After checking this page I see there’s peach and it rarely agrees with my skin or nose so I’m assuming this is why. I reapplied to clothes and I’m getting the same vibe in the opening. I don’t know how it smells on me to others but I’m not a fan at the moment. It’s been a few minutes and after it was applied to my clothes/scarf I’m nauseous, w a headache. I’d skip buying a bottle.
I have been dying to try this for more than 2 years because I heard it’s spicy but unfortunately I tried it today and it’s soapy and slightly powdery on me. I have also sampled coco modmaselle (forgive my spelling) but it was underwhelming but even better than this one.
I have been holding off on buying this because so many here have referred to it as a flanker of Coco Mademoiselle, which I do not like at all! I phoned Chanel specifically to inquire about this and they assured me that Coco Noir is a flanker of COCO and NOT MADEMOISELLE! That being said, I will be buying a bottle because I LOVE Coco! In the meantime, I merely wanted to clear that up because of so many people discussing that point, and I would think the people at Chanel should know their business. Have a great week!
It's a beautiful and elegant scent. White florals perform well with warm spices and woodiness although there is this unnecessary soapiness that I detect. Not sure whether this perfume is aimed at +40 audience because of that soapiness or what? Doesn't last as long as probably expected of Chanel. Make no mistake - there is nothing NOIR about this fragrance so the name and colour of the bottle is definitely misleading. People comment Coco Noir is great for cold weather but because it's a light fragrance I think it's great for all year round. PS: Keep the bottle with you to respray throughout the day.
