Casmir

The combination of mango, coconut, peach, and rich vanilla makes Casmir feel remarkably contemporary. It deserves a relaunch, much like the successful revivals of Estée Lauder's classic fragrances. I did recently rediscivered. A real juice.

I love this. It reminds me of Vanilla Fields and Far Away. Smells good layered with Fire and Ice. Definitely gets noticed. I have the older formulation.

It's very creamy and lactonic I think it's because of the coconut. , like cinnamon golden milk, yet it feels a bit old-fashioned; I'm undecided whether to buy it or not. It would have been better if those soapy floral notes hadn't been added after that creamy, lactonic scent with cinnamon. Finally, that soapy smell fades away.

This is not a bowl of fresh fruit and a bouquet of dewy flowers on an unvarnished noble wood table. This is a pile of cheap, half-melted fruit candies in every imaginable flavor scattered across a plastic table. Next to them sits a supermarket bouquet, dropped into a vase without even removing the cellophane wrapping. And, of course, there's an open bottle of vodka. No matter how long you sit at that table, nothing is going to change. So what's the point?

Turkish Delight wrapped in incense. Not edible though. This is not the chocolate around Turkish Delight, this is the tart rose water infused with incense. Or like when you take rose petals and rub them between your thumb and pointer finger. That feeling. Balsamic and dense. Rich, warm, exotic. I imagine languidly sprawling in the dark next to a crackling fireplace on red velvet cushions fringed with gold eating Turkish Delight and syrupy apricots from gold bowls with a hookah nearby taking hits of smoke. Quite opulent. This is extremely similar to Diptyque Eau Duelle EDP. The bottle it this scent. 🧡🌹🍑🔥⚱️

Casmir Chopard. this is another perfume I knew well from 1992, I loved it for its soft orientalism and added chicness. as I bought it a couple of months ago, in 'sales', as it for years and years still is, at first I thought, when smelling the first sniff: oh reformulated beyond control. and yet this is the fourth or fifth perfume of which I can fully say: it still is exquisite and splendid as it also were in 1992. I think Chopard is a major Perfume House as well as a Haute Joaillerier. meaning that it has enough financial back-up to invest in the continuation of its perfumes. but I think it is a hell of a lot more complicated than that. this (new) perfume is such soft, yet present, fabulous perfume with Trôpicalismú, a lingering dream around your being. then I think Chopard can still have it in its portfolio. but some perfumes are going into a grey zone. and keep selling there for decades. I have a feeling Chopard gets 'Royalties'. but this secundary and tertiairy market does have its own laws. there are perfumes that thrive in these netherzones. that makes me wonder if it is still Chopard who produces them, or allotted the production to some other factories. because it is an intricate flacon, the 'mould' is made (which costs fortunes) and then once there was a factory which produced the 'Jus' and Glassworks and Packagings. we all have read here or there that you pay for the name, the secundary merchandizing, the Inbetween factors. the perfume itself, they write then, is not so expensive once the formula is settled. so it is complicated and I have here only tipped the top of the Iceberg. but whatever the case, another stunning perfume which mysteriously beheld (in my opinion) its initial mystique and makes the Fakhir Fiole as promising as it was, and still is.

This fragrance is the story of my life and existence. I remember my first smell of this as a young girl. I instantly fell in love. I’ve had several bottles over the years. It is truly my one of my favorite scents. It’s warm it’s sensual.

Love this wee gem, a perfect slightly powdery and spiced fruity vanilla that doesnt smell old fashioned to me at all. It's not as spicy as I remember it being when I first tried it ~20 years ago so I'd say my bottle is the newer weaker formulation, but for the price I still rate this- it's beautiful, soft and sweet and still has legs on it performance wise, lasts 6-8hrs on skin easily. Great for layering too if you want more sweetness. 8.5/10.

Creamy, almost buttery mango and coconut with a hint of raw vanilla pod. Pity it’s so so so gentle: I need to push my nose into my arm to smell it. If it was ONLY tad stronger 🥲

Casmir has sadly been stripped of many of the aroma chemicals that once filled it with life and personality, and the current version feels like a pale shadow of the original. What a magnificent fragrance it used to be... The benzoin, opoponax, tonka bean, cinnamon, and carnation created a rich, emotional, almost intoxicating oriental composition. It was warm, sensual, comforting, and deeply memorable — a true olfactory delight.

This nearly evaded me, but due to miscommunication and a happy accident Casmir entered my life as a gift this Mother's Day. The recent tester in store was *awful*, and resulted in a scratching on my "wanted" list, but the pre-🎄mas tester had been lovely and my daughter remembered that. Lucky. I smell a strong vanilla with creamy sweet fruity elements that are not gourmand on me, coconut as a subtle tropical nod and woods that are smooth and grounding. The synthetic opening passed quickly and a more cosy lamp light and warm drinks atmosphere was suggested on this cool, dark and damp day, thanks again to maestro Michel Almairac.

I love the name, I adore the bottle. Sadly on me there isnt a bit of fruit - its a mostly dry sandalwood that ages into a skin scent vanilla. Looks nice in my collexion even if my skinchemistry doesn't love it.

Sandalwood and vanilla on me. I don't really get any fruit. That said it's cozy and lovely. Great price point and a gorgeous bottle.

Like a very powdery evening, when the sun is about to set. Warm but not too much. Sweetish. Feminine.

I'm not someone who moans about reformulations, but this is a disappointment, even by charitable standards...Casmir is a shadow of its former self. Perhaps if you're unfamiliar with the original (A marvel!) you will enjoy this, as the *idea* of the ambrosia-like original is here. Coconut, Amber, Vanilla all still detectable, but the proportions are so timid, I feel anyone who truly loved the original Casmir should avoid this and allow their memories to tide them over until a better reformulation shows itself. I must agree with the review from Starlight.

I have finally found a fragrance with coconut, mango and vanilla that I am not disappointed with despite its age. The opening is what struck me first - smooth and creamy. I don’t deem this tropical - it’s simply a lovely crafted fragrance with no outstanding note but clearly the mango and vanilla rendered this soft but still with longevity . This was a successful blind buy. I am still pursuing Terracotta by Guerlain , Utopia vanilla Kayali and Tiger lily to compare.

It’s just perfect. So classy and sophisticated, mature but not dated/too serious, it’s sweet but not too sweet, it’s creamy and cosy but not too gourmand, more like a fancy cream. I love it and I got the last bottle on sale, also it’s 100ml so it’s just perfect for me. Finally a new dreamy scent I can fall in love with.

I am in love with this perfume since the early ‘90s definitely more of a fall winter scent or girls night out scent for me.

A lovely non sweet vanilla, I really like it. It reminds me of the Body Shop Vanilla perfume oil we used to wear in the '90s; one of the affordable perfumes we had access to as broke students.

It smells like my grandma. When you see the notes you ll tink that this is definitely a gourmand. But nothing like that. Very disappointing.

It was a blind buy for me. I'm usually more of a pear or berries girl. But I must say it is very nicely done peach. As most perfumes turn more sweet on me, this one reminds me of a honeyed peach, golden and syrupy, very sweet. Then it keeps switching between the thick honey with sour note and golden light honey plus added sawdust in the base. The sawdust is very photorealistic. Longevity is... well after 24h I could still smell it. Not a love but definitely a like.

I like it so much! The sweetest and sexiest ambery peach in the world. It sounds waaaay more expensive than it costs. There are rumours that it is discontinued - hopefully not, this scent is a legend! I blind bought it and got something much better than I could ever expect. It is gourmand made in very sophisticated way so you will not smell like food. I feel sun-ripened sweet peach, warmed by the sun, with a red blush on its soft skin, and this peach is wrapped up in an elegant ambery base with a touch of vanilla. If you love sweet oriental scents, you will probably like Casmir a lot. I wasn’t even born when this fragrance was created, yet I don’t find it dated at all! On the contrary, I actually find it très chic and wearable. Gonna buy a backup bottle and get my hands on a vintage version - that’s how much I liked this perfume!

This is straight up Bentley for Men Absolute. Just a little bit softer and elegant.

Forse non tutti sanno che i profumi lanciati negli anni 70, 80 e 90 dopo il 2000 sono stati modificati, alleggeriti e spesso imbruttito notevolmente da renderli irriconoscibili. Pertanto è sciocco andare a comprare uno di questi profumi adesso, nel negozio sotto casa e poi lamentare che non è buono come era scritto nelle recensioni. Se vuoi un vintage devi comprarlo nelle sue edizioni degli anni 70, 80 o 90, non nella versione attuale. Il lavoro è complicato ma è l'unico modo per sentire la vera forza della fragranza originale. Sembra superfluo ma vedo dalle recensioni che non è chiaro per tutti. Detto questo,casmir era una fragranza calda e orientale che ho comprato nel 92, usata pochissimo,forse 2 volte in tutto. In quel tempo non faceva impazzire,la sentivo un po strana,con una nota rotonda tipo samsara di sandalo o cocco. Ora sembra che tutti non ne possano fare a meno perche sentono la vaniglia... va beh, il bouquet era notevolmente piu interessante che una vaniglia,ci sono aromi di mirra e spezie misteriose molto gradevoli che meritano apprezzamento. Non conosco la versione attuale perche ho ancora la mia vecchia del 92 e va bene così

The very opening of Chopard's Casmir does indeed serve sensation like a slice of peach pie a la mode, ...but very soon, a savory sandalwood and musk take the scent back to a more classical semi-gourmand. Jasmine and other floral notes bridge that significant gap between high fructose and deep sawdust. Casmir can also lend itself to layering. One might add peppery spices or further deepen the woody base. A good one that's easy to remember because of similar names is Casmir + Cashmeran (molecule 5). As for the bottle, ...to some, a flying saucer,capped with the taj mahal, must seem like an awkward affectation, but perhaps also the peculiarity of such extreme proportions might somehow add to its legendary distinction. First released in 1992, the same year as Angel, Casmir also holds its own historic place as a proto-gourmand pioneer.

This fragrance revolves around a dense, amber-tinged peach note, almost syrup-like in texture. The sweetness is quite pronounced, so it may feel overwhelming to those who prefer drier or fresher compositions. If you enjoy fruity fragrances built on a warm, resinous base, chances are you will appreciate this one. The price falls in the affordable to mid-range category, with a longevity of around 8 hours and noticeable projection for much of that time. It performs best in fall and winter, as well as in cold or rainy weather, where the amber facets become smoother and more enveloping.

This is an absolutely gorgeous affordable fragrance. It smells way more expensive than it is. It’s vanilla done in a way that feels sophisticated. The warm patchouli, musky, woody base is stunning! It is the perfect scent for cooler weather. To me it does not at all seem dated. My skin doesn’t pull a lot of sweetness. I mostly get a warm woody earthy vanilla and it’s beautiful!

The opening is a harsh fruity mush but after about 30 mins the magic begins to happen. It becomes a warm, gently flowery oriental with a most delicious and cosy dry down. I tried it in summer but I think it is definitely for cooler weather. It is worth the price for gently sweet comfort. Unlike most modern perfumes it is not a beast and it is not toothache inducing, but it is also not dated or old smelling- a winner in my book.
