Centaurus

All year rounder! It's a light, sweet scent. People who are in niche world won't be as amazed when this could remind them of Acqua di Gio or some light affordable scent.

It's VERY cinnamon focused. If you like that smell, you'll love this. I found it stuck to my skin for hours, but it made me feel like it was too much. It's dried down nicely into a warm spicy and almost-generic sandalwood smell (but with a hint of that lingering spice). I can see it being a hit with some and a miss for others. For me, it was too much. I love cinnamon, but not THIS much.

Can’t believe no one has mentioned the resemblance to African Leather. Both are good, I do prefer the dryer notes of African Leather but if you enjoy a more candied red spice then go for this.

It's a sweeter grand soir and more beautiful and sophisticated also it reminds of amouage outlands, as if both had a baby that will be it

One of the best Creeds. Sweet, spicy, creamy, tobacco and cinnamon. Very nice vanilla, floral, patchouli bases. Light and playful. Sometimes I miss a minimal oud, which would give it more depth. I solve this "problem" with a hint of Oud Zarian layering ;) Or if you like mixing perfumes: the 9:1 ratio works best for me (9 units centaurus and 1 unit Oud Zarian).

Just a quick note to say that this does actually work incredibly well in the summer! It lightens up, becomes slightly more fresh with more zing. This truly is an all year round fragrance….

First spray I pick up cardamon, Tobacco and cinnamon ( they are my fav notes ). It’s a very nice opening. But drydown is sweet reminds me of tobacolor ( the fragrance I had bad memory with ). Anyway it is a solid fragrance for winter that’s for sure

Not a huge Creed fan but this one caught me off guard I had to buy a full bottle immediately. If you’re looking for a niche, new and sophisticated DNA this is not going to be mind blowing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a wonderful scent, but it’s giving designer.

An adult cinnamon. Not cinnamon rolls or candles from homegoods. Centaurus is cinnamon and spice from the kitchen cabinet. But upscale. Unfortunately there is a cumin note coming out in my skin during the opening that I don't like at all. Had to scrub off.

Well, I know all of our olfactory senses are different. After reading most of the reviews on Centaurus, I went ahead and purchased a decant. Sprayed it on....gave it time. Waiting until it settled in and decided to write this review....It's CRAP. Reminded me of Pez candy as a kid. No way in H would I buy this, or even consider it. Absolutely disgusting.....Can scratch the Creed itch off of my list. Done and dusted......For those who love it, enjoy! PS - It's potent stuff....can't even wash it off at this point.

This is not something new or spectacular, but it's too good! ❤️ Very strong, long lasting. Perfectly blended sweet, creamy, spicy tobacco. There's something addictive about it. It reminds me of my forever #1 discontinued Tom Ford Noir pour femme.

With the recent sad passing of Oliver Creed, I thought I'd take today to do a full review on one of his house's most accomplished creations: Centaurus. When this and its sister offering Delphinus came out, I gravitated towards the sweeter and more gourmand Delphinus as it was an instant love, and perhaps I didn't give Centaurus my full attention. It has proven to be a more popular and commercially successful offering than Delphinus and got a lot more hype online, which may be one reason why I never circled back to it until recently. The opening is this gorgeously evocative cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, pink and black pepper and tobacco leaf burst. It is unapologetically rich and exotic and it wears dramatically nicer on skin than it does on testing strip for me. There is a nice floral heart of geranium, heliotrope and jasmine that has this sticky pollen smell (in a nice way) that reminds me a little of how fresh Lillies smell. All this works very nicely with the spices and sweetness of the opening. The blending is characteristically Creed. The base is some bitter woods and the same vanilla and benzoin we see in Delphinus, which suggests a bit of shared DNA that I do appreciate. I have to say, I absolutely adore this one. There is a lot going on with Centaurus. What does it evoke for me? The noise and bustle down by the river never seems to stop. It feels like hours since the sun went down but the air is still sultry and dense. Sweat grabs at the back of my shirt. I walk along the road into the spice souk, picking the last of my khameer from my teeth with my tongue, still able to taste the dates. Moving in short strides, I pick a staccato path through tourists and sellers as their faces loom up out of the lights and then disappear, mouths moving and eyes seeking a reflection in mine. I do not stop but slow blink and nod at the ones that step directly in front, sometimes touching my heart with my hand, and they move aside like a curtain as the immersive performative art show continues all around. The smells are as myriad as the spices heaped in every nook and cranny. This place is an organic form. It breathes with me inside it. I can feel its heartbeat. I smell rust. Flowers. Greasy hair. Cleaning products. Oud. Fresh bread. Sweat. Peppermint oil. Every breath smells different, every blink is a different scene. It is intoxicating. There is sweetness and savoury, stringency and bitterness, medicinal smells and smells that remind me of simple meals of slow cooked lahm and bread. Here and there people are smoking and the smell never quite blots out the pervading spice in the air. I smell the citrus burst of dried lemons and sumac. Then beard oil. Then a beguiling sweetness of rose petals and rose oil. Shwarma papers. An unwashed, bearded man with greasy skin and hard, darting eyes pushes into and past me in a kameez so close I can smell the stale sweat and cumin oozing out of his pores. His reek is blown away in a puff of incense from a lamp above me. The jostling hands and pushing bodies thin as the souk reaches its end and the cooler Dubai air outside is fresh and clean by comparison. I love this city. I love this place. It feels as though my soul has been here for generations. This is what Centaurus reminds me of. It’ll suffice to say at this point that it’s another absolute tour de force by the luminary Cecile Zarokian that I didn’t get at first but now find myself embarrassed at being late to the party on. Centaurus is absolutely stunning. This review is dedicated to the late, great Olivier Creed. May he rest in fragrant peace. Layering suggestion: I'd try it with a decent Cambodian oud oil on your nose and pulse points. Just a little. Three Word Summary: The Spice Market Scent - 10/10 Drydown - 8/10 Sillage - 9/10 Bottle/packaging - 9/10 Performance - 8/10 44/50

First off.....WOW. Yes its pricey BUT....the projection and longevity its incredible. I am wearing a tester of Aventus, Original Vetiver, and Centaurus. All I can smell is Centaurus. Its sweet, spicy, amber with pitted caramelised dark red berries. Deep, warm, and very seductive. Absolutely 10/10

12 hours of pure oriental sex appeal

If you’re a woman who enjoys wearing unisex fragrances like Parfums de Marly Althaïr or Tom Ford Ombre Leather, you might really enjoy this one. It’s long-lasting with great projection. I often catch myself pausing in the middle of something just to appreciate how amazing it smells on me, and I can’t help but smile whenever I wear this fragrance. Highly recommend but try before you buy...

Reviewing a sample I have used a few times. Very mature, sweet and spicy fragrance blending cinnamon, pink pepper, and vanilla. The opening is to die for and once it dries down it lasts forever. Most reviews say this is overpriced but the performance alone justifies it. 8/10

What a performance. This perfume gets 14-16 hours longevity on my skin. Absolutely beast mode. I love tobacco, cardamon, cinnamon and vanilla notes in the cold weather and Centaurus has all in one. Holy underrated

Absolutely phenomenal fragrance and so underrated. This is creeds 2nd best fragrance imo behind absolu aventus. The pink pepper note in this just puts the icing on the cake. Its a warm and cosy scent that opens quite harsh but the drydown is just amazing. This is one of creeds longest lasting fragrances i get about 8-10 hours longevity and 2 hours good projection

Man this is addictive, nothing groundbreaking but still makes you come back to it. Performance is also great, radiates off of my sleeve for the 3rd day now.

1 part red tobacco 2 parts African leather - that is to say the opening is more red tobacco and it can be a little harsh with the spices, as it dries it smooths out and you get a version of African leather that replaces the leather with cherry and tobacco. Beautiful

I am surprised that this doesnt get more love. Everyone complains about Creed's performance and this one is beast mode. Its not thay ground breaking, but it smells fantastic! Its very masculine as well. I love when expensive fragrances arent popular because you can pick them up dirt cheap. I paid $15 for a 10ml. 8.25/10 for this 3 seasons frag.

Creed #10 - The best one?! I had two more Creed samples left to discover, Centaurus and Royal Oud. I wasn’t sure on which to pick next but given that most of the ones i’ve previously tested had a classic or traditional feel to it, i wanted to end my samplings on that same tone with Royal Oud because my intuition tells me thats what i’ll find in it. Centaurus being the new kid on the block, it left me somewhat indifferent and i just wanted to “get through” with it. Imagine my surprise when i first smelt it, only to be greeted by an absolutely awesome and gorgeous fragrance. I seldomly use the word gorgeous but Centaurus is and it might challenge Viking as my favourite Creed. Centaurus to me is a modern, westernised-oriental spicy scentprofile thats noticeably different then what i’ve smelt from Creed so far. Its ambery-vanillic sweet but airy and spacious, with no traces of the heft and thickness that true oriental ambers have. On the amber spectrum, its closer to Grand Soir then to Ambre Sultan or Ambra Aurea for example. The defining theme of the fragrance is a cherried tobacco and cinnamon. Warm spices made me fall in love with Viking in the first place, only Viking opts for a more traditional, green minty fresh-aromatic profile with warm clove as oposed to the sweet vanilla-tobacco ambiance chosen in Centaurus. Where Viking is giving off a light brown hue thanks to the clove, Centaurus has a cherry red color and accord, not terribly unlike Mancera's Red Tobacco. I must admit that Fragrantica gave me a little “push” in regards to associating it with Red Tobacco, but once i made the connection i could tell its not just placebo or a “planted impression”. Compared to Red Tobacco its less wintery-thick, more versatile and easy going, with better blending and ingredient quality. There’s something that lurks in the back of my mind that i wasn’t brave enough to say and it has to do with modern versus classic perfumery. Not once have i declared myself a fan of everything vintage, perfume or otherwise. I respect the depth, the quality, thoughtfulness and seriousness of things that were done in the past. I respect and appreciate the significance, the history and the roads paved by older perfumes and the doors they opened. The key word in all of these compliments is “respect”, and don’t get me wrong, its a praise that carries immense weight. Having said that, smelling modern perfumes brings out a different kind of appreciation, one dictated by simple endorphin release. I don’t know if its the new aromachemicals or the neon bright colors but to me, modern perfumes tend to smell olfactively better then older ones. Modern fragrances simply “pop out” and are more vivid and color saturated. I also suspect its the sweet accords used in new perfumes and just as “everything tastes better with sugar”, this type of sweetness better stimulates the scent receptors, atleast in my case. Does that mean modern perfumery beats traditional? Not at all, but it is more eye catching...well...nose catching for sure. Creed’s Centaurus is a good example in this regard. Its vivid, modern, sweet, yummy and massappealing. Does it smell like a Creed? No it doesn’t, it smells more like a Parfums de Marly. Its like a cherried tobacco sibling of Layton. I realise the string of comparitions is getting out of hand but i believe it helps describe the perfume. Do i respect it more then the older Creeds? Nope, quiet the contrary. Do i prefer its scent to the others tho? Honestly, i do. Call it a guilty pleasure type of “sweet toothed” preference but i really enjoy the scentprofile. If in the future i would like to get a Creed, Viking might still be my pick but only because i have plenty of sweet perfumes in my collection that use vanilla or cinnamon and i also have Red Tobacco so Centaurus would be a bit redundant.

Usually I'm into challenging scents and don't mind wearing them, but I really can't stand the opening in this one. I'm not entirely sure what exactly it is, but I have the same problem with Grand Soir and Tobacco Vanille. It's this one very specific type of spice that reminds me of bitter paprika and sadly it's very dominant in the opening of all three.

10/10 2nd only to Oud Zarian. Highly recommend, this one. Not as good as Zarian but one of creed's best. Spicy Bliss done to perfection. This scent is addicting.

Sweet, warm & spicy. The cardamom certainly comes through in the opening. This is probably just a little too sweet for me though, and the main issue I have with this (that is not really a problem for most people and is a + for some) is that it doesn't have any really sharp edges. It's just a really well blended, round, mass-appealing fragrance that is of very high quality and of good taste. A lot of people say this lacks complexity but I certainly disagree, I think it's just because it's a very well blended fragrance & sometimes that can give the impression of it being simple or linear, when in reality that's just not true. 8.5/10

I feel sad for the people who rated this fragrance as bad one This fragrances the strongest one from the house seductive af I got 6 compliments no joke I didn't get close to anyone so much like 3-4 meters away projects for hours I think the opening is a little bit medicinal but goes away after 10-15 minutes becomes unique masculine tabac vanille fragrance but not like tobacco vanille I rate this fragrance 9/10

Absolutely one of the best from creed 2nd for me behind Creed Oud Zarian. This one is delectable, the combination of spices is a joy to smell.
