Don't care about your trends or if it's old-fashioned. Don't care. I love-love-love this scent. Cool water is the only perfume that made me smell THE OCEAN itself. Whenever I see sth aquatic or ocean scented, it just smells like perfumes for men. Like, are you kidding? This is the ocean itself. I'm trying so hard to find perfumes similar to this.

i feel crazy but i really don't like it, it smells like toilet cleaner on me, nothing fruity or watery about it. it just smells like a detergent. i wanted to blind buy it online based on good reviews, but luckily i was able to try it in person so i didn't waste my money. i believe it can smell good on some, but be careful! i don’t think is that universal as they say online. for a nice affordable summer scent i chose ocean dream giorgio beverly hills and this one was way better. the good think about it is that its really good lasting for this price, it survived a shower on my hand lol.

Oh how much i love smelling like a mermaid lost in the sea, this smells masculine in the opening as everyone is saying but then turns very feminine like you are a mermaid sitting on a rock sipping on cocktail by the sea, preforms so good in a humid brutal Egyptian summer!!

It is a refreshing aquatic floral that captures the clean, carefree spirit of the 1990s. Juicy melon, pineapple, lemon, and black currant blend with airy lotus and a distinctive marine accord, creating a bright, watery opening. The heart of aquatic florals dries down to soft musk, sandalwood, peach, vanilla, and berries, adding a subtle creamy touch. Its greatest strength is its effortless wearability. Fresh, uplifting, and perfect for warm weather, it's an easy everyday fragrance. However, the prominent marine accord gives it a distinctly '90s feel, and its longevity and projection are fairly modest. For a more modern twist, layer it with The Nue Co. First Milk. Its creamy lactonic notes soften the marine freshness and enhance the vanilla in the base, creating a smoother, more comforting take on this classic aquatic.

While I love aquatic scents, and I remember I used to like this 30 years ago, I don't like it much now. First, it's masculine, especially with the pineapple, I don't get an sweet florals, and then what smells like wood to me comes out of nowhere. Not a good look for a water scent. I bought it because it was cheap, but wouldn't wear it after trying it again. I'd rather have a very clean aquatic that smells fresh like ocean and clear skies. I'll give it away to one of my friends who might use it.

It starts off smelling like a men's body wash, but then settles into a fresh watery scent not for me

My mom has this so I might be biased but I love it sm. When I smell it, it makes me want to buy it for myself. It's very aquatic and a little floraly. I don't know if I smell (from memory) any sweet notes. I think you can smell it in the whole room when it gets sprayed, also from a meter away when you're close to the person wearing it. Idk why it has so many notes tho, it's just watery but intense watery. Not mermaidy or sailory, but like a water goddess that appears during a full moon when you chant her name 5 times in a moonlit lake. I think I'm just glazing but it's really nostalgic and really good and worth a try. ^^ Oh and also if you want a 2000s frutiger aero kind of scent or one of those niche aesthetics like frutiger blue zen in a Chinese mall in the 2000s if ykyk. Ok bye!

I picked up a bottle out of nostalgia. It smells so beautiful and fresh but it doesn’t last on me at all: it dissapeared within an hour. Will happily reapply though. It reminds me of the ocean. It even smells a bit salty to me. Love!

Okay! I take my words back! Many moons ago, I described this cutie as a "watered down" floral scent. I guess I judged it too early. Yes, the opening is very watery floral, but when it settles onto your skin, it smells fresh and soapy. It lasts quite long on my skin, being an EDT. To get rid of that watery floral effect, I rub the perfume on my skin, and voilà! Instant musky, soapy feeling! It has grown on me, honestly.

Smells like soap and freshness and blue and sun and bubbles and a sweet fizzy drink and melon and childhood! Something carbonated about it. It's so familiar, I think everyone was wearing it when I was younger. It's very punchy and in your face, and a little too sour for my tastes. Still, it's not offensive at all. It lasts a long time on the skin, even on a really hot or sweaty day. It makes a previous perfume I sampled smell unpleasant if you smell them one after another, because this is so fresh and cool and that is so musky and warm (glasswing by riverbero). Despite the nostalgia and freshness, I wouldn't buy a bottle. It's really sour and simple and nothing to write home about.

I first tried this scent in Nordstrom, on a trip my bestie and I had to celebrate our 40th birthdays. I instantly fell in love. I had never smelled anything like it; to me it's what spring and summer would smell like if you could bottle it. It's fresh, crisp and clean. This not a shy fragrance, sitting at a table in the corner hoping not to be noticed. Cool Water is an attention getter in the best possible way. It's a bold, in your face fragrance and demands attention like the diva she is. In other words, this is a fragrance to wear when you want attention.

Okay, I can see many people are not fans of this, but for me, this is a time travel device. I love this. It's a beautiful fresh aquatic leaning fragrance (but not fully aquatic or oceanic, if you wonder) with so many fruity notes, yet they don't come across as a fruity, sweet cocktail. Instead, they blend into an aromatic heart. I wouldn't even tell. It's incredibly nostalgic for me, it reminds me of the 90s so much. I'm not sure who wore it in my surroundings - not me, of course, as I was too young to own a perfume. I love, love, love the 90s in fragrance, especially the second half of them. Around 1995, there was an explosion of wonderful creativity in fashion, fragrance, and design overall, and that wave of brilliance continued right up until the turn of the millennium. Edit: I asked my mom who used to wear this, and she confirmed we had it in the house. I knew it! This smells exactly like 1996 to me. Edit 2: Next day, and the sample is still strong. Good longevity.

I blind bought this as a dedicated work freshie for this summer. I'm a big fan of aquatic yet floral fragrances for summer so it seemed right up my alley. I can't really isolate any one note it's just watery and fresh and little floral, not really unique by 2026 standards. And to be fully honest while I like the smell, I did expect more from it. However when I started wearing it I would get nose blind to it really quickly when I sprayed it near my face, and the more I wear it the more I'm beginning to connect the calone with mild headaches I have been having so I really wouldn't recommend blind buying it.

This sounds like a really interesting perfume based off of the notes but surprise, it's kinda boring. Still lovely just a generic clean smell, I usually wear it to work or layer it with a perfume I find a bit too unique for daily wear - and it makes that more wearable. But this is just a really pretty, clean smell that kinda reminds me of the smell you get on your skin after using a nice mens body wash! If your looking for something for daily wear that makes you feel put together, then this is the perfume for you!

A very strong opening with almost a burning sensation. It almost kind of reminds me of Axe body spray or aftershave. It’s very fresh and really reminds me of a very youthful cologne. I definitely agree with the 90s feel with this one! It leans very very masculine to me but I also think anyone could wear it.

Анонім

this over the eos coconut waters lotion…TRUST me bro. this has been my go to in hot weather.

Анонім

perfect for summer, and really everyday smell for high temperature. Won't make anyone sick, still fresh sweet smell. I just can't define why it's so basic. BUT! In the best way possible

Анонім

Fresh without being too sharp. The melon is what comes through the most. I feel like I've definitely smelled this before, there's a nostalgic quality to it even though I don't know having ever smelled it. But it's no wonder due to its popularity in the past. I think this would be absolutely lovely for summer. My only complaint is the bottle. It feels low quality with a squeaky plastic cap. This perfume deserves a better presentation.

Анонім

it’s nice but a little underwhelming. i can’t really identify any specific notes — it’s a nondescript sort of watery freshness. it smells good (and certainly for the 20$ it was worth) but it’s nothing to write home about. pleasant enough!

smells like aftersun. very masculine and bitter

This is the only aquatic that gives me a headache. I like it regardless tho. I have the association for it to a bath, maybe its from the sea salt body wash I used before (?), so I just think of water when I smell it.

It is a fruit forward dip in body-of-water-what-have-yous. Fresh, clean, Dove soap is the most prominent appearing smell here, the regular bar of soap. Which for me is not at all bad.. This is linen clothing, sunglasses, and convertible car. I think the projection is excellent for an EDT, I blind bought 6.7 oz for 37$ because I was looking for something inexpensive to wear this summer and I am absolutely not disappointed. This is a great value for the price and I truly imagine that this would be hard to dislike on someone unless they really overspray. It just smells clean.

this smells so nice and almost sweet on my sister but on me it's nauseating and bitter

Cool Water Woman brings a lot of early 2000s nostalgia even though it is a 90s perfume. It reminds me of my aunt who would always have fragrance miniatures in her purse. Whenever we would have a family function, she would lend my mum one of her purses and lo and behold, there would be a miniature of whatever fragrance she was into at the time. Cool Water Woman was one of them. I also remember her having a fragrance miniature of Calvin Klein's Obsession and one of the Chances by Chanel. She was also my first introduction to Mugler's Angel. Cool Water Woman Is honestly such a classic fragrance to me. It's one of those perfumes that are both universal and unique. It's unique in the sense that it doesn't smell like your typical gourmand or sweet fragrance that most gravitate toward and universal because it's so refreshing that anybody would enjoy it. It is definitely an affordable, safe blind buy and is aquatic done right. The bottle also complements it perfectly. I recently picked up a bottle after all these years and the DNA seems to be the same. I appreciate when brands leave things as they are because why fix something that isn't broken?

It’s fresh and seductive, and has a beautiful scent trail. As a man I would love to smell it my lady. One of my favourites from women line.

This is amazingly well blended to the point that if I didn't read the notes, I wouldn't know what I was smelling, except something beautifully aquatic. I haven't found many aquatic scents that I love, but this one is my No.1. The melon and lotus combined together create such a refreshing watery scent. One of my favorites, and the bottle is stunning.

1st review on Fragrantica after all this time...thanks to everyone here, I always enjoy the comments section! I don't know why, but this is one of those fragrances for women that personally drives me crazy! Nostalgia possibly plays a part, as it's been around for a while. Regardless, this fragrance ALWAYS steals my attention! I thank all the women out there who still wear this and make the world a better place!😁

Bought it for 20€ before going to Paris and wore it on my trip, it’s nice and fresh (very easygoing)

Maybe it's me who has changed, but it no longer feels as fresh as it uses to. The initial spray is nice but I found it has that cheap, plasticky playdoh scent to it. I'm going to have to return it. Sad because I remember smelling this in a magazine in junior high and loving it. I guess two decades pass and tastes and formulations change.

In today's perfumery standards, this fruity citrus aquatic floral is more masculine than most modern ones. It surely has Acqua di Gio shades with added melon-violet leaf-cucumber type watery notes and florals emphasized further with rose and muguet to support violet, giving the classic nivea lotion type effect. Dihydromyrcenol, the ingredient that took the spotlight with Cool Water for men, combined with lavender and coumarin switches on the fougere aspects on the women version too, where it really feels like a classic shaving product scent and I even get a camphoric, rosemary-like (perhaps juniper berries) gin-tonic vibe which understandably doesn't smell girly-girly-feminine at all. Add calone to this mix and you already get the skeleton of many men's fragrances of the past and today. All the women complaining this being masculine are right, it is a men's aquatic floral formula in disguise.
