Nothing wrong with it, a scent that largely seems what it is trying to be. Floral, lavender, and bergamot are all there upfront. Clean, slightly powdery/soapy. No real criticism, but not something I love, like, or need.

Very good perfume for semi-special occasions for colder weather. The dominant note is powder and iris maybe, but it doesn't feel feminine, but at the same time, some women can wear it as well. Dior homme feels like something rich, maybe aristocratic and appealing. It can be wore by young people, starting from 18-20+ years. It feels unique, at least I never heard similar scent.

I picked up a 2013 bottle lying around in a kind of run down perfume store. It is not like the 2005 version. There is no iris. Of course it's nice and a pleasure to wear but it has no iris or lipstick like the original. Now today i wore Valentino Uomo '21 version , and it was verrry close to 2005 Dior homme. Full on sweet iris. Are these perfume companies just playing games?? Longevity on both fragrances is nothing to go gaga over.

i love this on a guy, my brother’s friend wears this all the time and oh my god. maybe i just haven’t smelled many colognes in my life but this, sexiest scent ever. i feel like it leans male but is pretty unisex too, i like how it doesn’t try to be ultra manly. amazing. it also lingers in rooms/spaces where the wearer has been. im a girl and i would totally wear this.

This seems really light for an "Homme type" fragrance. It's almost as light as a non-fougere style, non-aromatic style freshie. It smells blue to me, though I wouldn't categorize it with the blues because it doesn't smell marine at all. Though, it does smell kind of fresh-watery if not sea-watery. I really want to keep it with my summer freshies and not with my indoor daytime hommes. I do not get any of the cacao or leather, even after hours of dry down. It's kinda linear to me.

As a woman I love this and will wear the hell out of it.

@Smellybutgood - nice summary of the Dior Homme lineup, but don't forget the classic Dior Homme Eau (2014). Edit - I see you have now added Dior Homme Eau.

I Literally got Dior Homme 2018 Batch (8B02) after using DHP, DHI. This leans same as other DH powdery Iris with a strong presence of leather and bitter cocoa but on slight fresher side, can be used anytime of the day. Need to give more wares and also yet to test how it works in hot summer days. Scent: 9.5/10 Silage: 9/10 [4+ Feet radius] Longevity: 9/10 [5+ Hrs on skin] Bottle: 8.5/10 Price: 8/10

I can’t seem to pinpoint this scent. Sometimes I catch a whiff and I think to myself, what is that heavenly smell? And then I realize it’s this. Each day it gives me different facets, keeping me on my toes. Not to be overly dramatic, but I swear, sometimes I feel like I could cry from its sheer beauty.

A Masterpiece! This is, without question, my eternal favorite. It’s the only perfume for which I’ve stocked multiple backup bottles—I simply never want to be without it. While the original 2005 version by Olivier Polge was in a league of its own, this 2011 reinterpretation by François Demachy remains one of Dior’s most exquisite creations. More than a mere fragrance, it exudes a certain quiet sophistication—an elegance that can only be truly appreciated through experience. The star of the show is Iris—specifically Orris Root—and this composition offers one of the most breathtaking renditions of Iris in all of perfumery. Attempting to dissect it note by note would completely miss the point; its beauty lies in its breathtaking, seamless elegance. If you happen to come across a bottle, especially from the 2011–2014 era, don’t hesitate—just grab it. This is one of the best perfumes ever made—a masterpiece. 10/10

This was supposed to be a Chanel Les Exclusif but got rejected, I mean the original 2005 formulation, the one with the silver stem. It does smell very Chanel I gotta say - it does have some similarities with Coromandel in its structure and the way it wears. One of the finest creations ever released. If you don’t like this scent you don’t like scents in general then.

I don’t understand why there’s no description for this scent — it’s the best in the collection. It’s a great, light yet masculine fragrance, the king of light-dens, unobtrusive, almost brilliant. Simply a scent, not notes; subtlety, maturity. One must be careful whether we’re talking about the 2020 or the 2011 version.

Dior Homme (2011), created by perfumer François Demachy, is a men's fragrance that belongs to the Woody Floral Musk family. This modernized version of the classic Dior Homme maintains the sophisticated DNA of the line, but with a cleaner, more linear and versatile approach. Its opening is fresh and aromatic, marked by the presence of lavender, bergamot and sage, which create a light and elegant beginning. In the heart, the star is iris, a note that gives a powdery and refined touch, accompanied by cocoa, which adds softness, and a light amber touch that warms the composition. In the base notes, we have the depth of leather, the earthy touch of vetiver and the density of patchouli, which give structure and masculinity to the perfume. Dior Homme 2011 is the personification of contemporary masculine elegance. It features iris as the protagonist, in a velvety version. The presence of cocoa adds a discreet and sophisticated gourmand touch, balancing with the amber that warms the heart of the perfume. In the base notes, leather emerges subtly, mixed with vetiver and patchouli, ensuring an earthy, dry and masculine touch. This perfume has an enchanting duality: it is refined and sensual at the same time, without resorting to excess. The lavender and bergamot in the opening give an aromatic herbal freshness, which quickly gives way to the enveloping iris, the most striking DNA of this line. Longevity: 7 to 8 hours (very good) Projection is moderate to strong in the first 2 hours Sillage: It lingers well in the environment without being invasive Ideal for controlled environments, such as dinners, meetings, evening dates or even use in the office, as long as in moderation. It is a fragrance that conveys confidence, personal care and sophistication, being perfect for cooler climates (autumn and winter), although it can be used sparingly on spring nights. Comparison with other versions Dior Homme 2005 (Olivier Polge) The original version is bolder and more artistic. The iris here has an even more made-up and powdery aspect, with a strong presence of leather and bitter cocoa, making it more striking and divisive. It is worshipped by many for its unique and innovative character at the time. More conceptual, less versatile. Dior Homme 2020 (François Demachy) Completely reformulated, this version abandons the iris as the star and follows a more aromatic woody path, focusing on vetiver, cedar and pink pepper. It is more muscular and traditional, aimed at a wider audience. Cleaner, fresher and safer, but loses the poetic identity of the previous versions. Final Score: 9.4/10 Dior Homme 2011 maintains the perfect balance between the artistic luxury of the 2005 version and modern usability. Its highlights are its timeless elegance and the unique signature of the masculine iris, which still impresses today. A fragrance that makes its presence felt in a silent but unmistakable way. A true modern classic for sophisticated men.

Анонім

The fragrance is quite unique and very distinctive. The iris adds a creamy, powdery layer (the makeup-like scent is real and very characteristic), making the perfume almost feminine, but the leather and bergamot pull the pendulum back toward the masculine side, and together they create a uniquely sophisticated blend. It's an ideal perfume for fall and winter, up to 22°C (72°F); above that, in warmer weather, it may become overwhelming due to its strong projection.

I have a very old version of it, almost 18 years old, and it's still in the drying phase—but it still smells great

just got a bottle of this off of ebay and its definitely the real deal. ive read some people fill old bottles up with the new batch, but i own the new batch and this is definitely the OG. much more iris & powdery. its insane how different the old one is compared to the new one. the new dior homme is much more woodsy and manly, while this is like a softer version of DHI. so if you buy this off of ebay and it smells like a woodsy, manly scent, its fake. but if it smells like buttery iris and cacao and the juice is a light yellow color, its most likely real.

I still have almost full bottle of 2005 and 80% of 2011 version. They are pretty similar, but 2005 is more green, super light and earthy...maybe I´m gettin some vetiver vibes and It´s pretty heavy on Iris wich make that more femenine to my taste. The 2011 is smooth, creamy chocolate and less Iris that why I use more often. Still prefer the Intense version from 2013/2014. Despised that the quality of both is unbeatable.

Анонім

2011 Dior Homme kept the soul of the 2005 Olivier Polge masterpiece — that iconic iris note with cocoa, lavender, and cardamom — but under François Demachy’s hand, it became a touch smoother, less powdery, and more approachable. It’s true something shifted in this version. A little cleaner, a little less daring, but still unmistakably Dior Homme. The iris remains front and center, velvety and cool, with a soft woody dry down that feels dressed-up without being stuffy. Compared to its siblings, the 2005 was bolder and moodier, while Dior Homme Intense later became deeper and richer. This 2011 version sits comfortably in between — refined, versatile, and quietly distinctive. I’m glad this discontinued 2011 Dior Homme was "re" released as Dior Homme Original 2021. The two are about 90% the same, with 2021 being a bit more wearable/versatile, the differences not being substantial enough to chase the 2011, of which I own both.

Old batches after year 2011 are flawed compared to the original absolute masterpiece launched 2022. I even want to call it the #1 Masterpiece of all time from all brands. I think I have emptied at least four bottles of this one, and I would love to get my hands on an original 2011 and would happily pay €350 for it. Watch out people, there are scammers on eBay who fill up a 2011 bottle with the new Dior Homme batch

Easily the best iris scent I’ve ever smelt. It’s light but also sophisticated and has dark nuances to it. The cocoa iris bergamot sage lavender combo in the beginning is absolutely godly, has you coming back for more. This is very similar to Givenchy Gentleman Boisee, but Boisee is more dark, and instead of the bergamot sage and lavender in the beginning it’s black pepper, geranium and coriander.both though are incredible so if you are looking for that cocoa iris itch bc this is discon, you won’t be disappointed with Boisee although it is a bit different in top notes and wearing.

I bought 50ml in 2011 and still have around 10 ml left. I remember I posted positive review on one site in 2011 and was mocked by users who told I have a blocked nose and have a bad perfume taste. And here we now in 2025 and this fragrance is legendary and gets admiration. I love this scent so much. It reminds of sunny fall days, crunchy dry leaves and itchy wind. Very warm and soothing. I’ll try to drag out this 10 ml as long as I can and enjoy the moments.

This scent feels really luxurious. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work for me. It also smells a bit too mature. I'm not sure which note causes it, but it gives off a "dad perfume" vibe. I’ve already sold it to someone, still had about 60ml left. Batch 2018

Checking the formulation numbers on the boxes, there are actually 2 versions of Dior Homme 2005, 3 versions of Dior Homme 2011 and 1 version of Dior Homme Original. Dior Homme 2005: 2005-2008 : formula 01704/A 2008-2010 : formula 01792/A Those two smell identical Dior Homme 2011: 2011-2014 : formula 05434/A (very close to the first two formulas, quite hard to understand the difference) 2015-2018 : formula 08853/A (major reformulation, depth, sillage and longevity are weaker) 2019-2020 : formula 12244/A (a little bit sweeter with the same depth/sillage/longevity problems) Dior Homme Original: 2020-now : formula 17997 (quite close to the last formula, lipstick note is further toned down, slightly more citrusy)

Since I wore DHI yesterday and I’m wearing this today, thought I’ll write a little review for this as well. I have no idea if Dior Homme Original smells exactly like this or not, this review is for a bottle with a batch dating back to 2017, so take that for what it’s worth. In case DHO is the exact same formulation, this review goes for that, too. I’ll begin by saying this - I LOVE this. This is more of an Iris fragrance than DHI or DHP (pre 2025), in my opinion. Yet when you smell this, you immediately relate it to the other two. This isn’t exactly a ‘lighter’ DHI, rather, at least on my skin, it performs about the same (if not better!) than my bottle of DHI. It smells different enough from DHI. It has the lavender of DHI in the opening but adds bergamot to the mix. That opening makes this much more accessible than DHI. By accessible, I mean a lot more people could pull it off whereas I feel like DHI is a more formal scent. This can be pulled off in formal or casual occasions. Right from when you spray it on, the iris takes center stage, and the other notes envelop it. There’s the note of cacao that is also present right off the bat, but it becomes more prominent as the fragrance dries down and the bergamot and lavender start to fade away. This cacao come to the same degree of prominence as the iris and this is where the fragrance smells much more casual than DHI. I like it, but it ALMOST smells plasticy to me, for whatever reason. It’s the same case with Valentino Uomo EDT. I feel like both these fragrances walk a fine line between becoming somewhat synthetic and being balanced. I loved this part when I first got the fragrance, but it has grown a bit boring over time. This is why I prefer DHI over it nowadays. The heart notes are much more palatable to my tastes currently. In the last stages of its life, the iris is still prominent but the fragrance becomes more woody, probably due to the vetiver. I don’t get any leather from it, but the plasticy smell I mentioned may just be the underlying note of leather & frankly, I can do without it as that portion of the fragrance stays even in the final stages of its life. Overall, it’s a fantastic fragrance, longevity and projection are surprisingly the same as DHI on my skin, perhaps due to the age of the bottle. The fragrance lasts all day, up to 8.5 hours or so and has a good sized scent bubble. Not too loud but it certainly projects. My bottle carries the batch number 8E01. Overall, I’d give this a 9/10. A legendary and trailblazing fragrance.

I've decided to keep this, for NO other reason than I like it enough and I can't find any off-putting elements. Iris smoothness all the way through, safe enough to wear in the office and dare I say it, something I see growing on me as I wear it more. In all honesty, I'd be lucky to get $50 for it (60% full 50 ml bottle) and it's just NOT worth all the hassle, I feel. It's not exactly revolutionary, it's not obnoxious and hard to pull off, and it isn't offensive. I have a LOT of scents that fall into one (or more!) of the above categories, so having something safe, predictable and blend-inable, I feel it's good to keep it. I've reached the stage in my 'collecting' that I won't be making any large scale purchases, and even though I have a few dozen items still on my 'to buy' list, I still have room on the shelf for this...
