Im looking for an older batch of this!

It smells just like vintage makeup. The longevity is incredible. it lasts forever! It’s strictly a winter scent and works best when you’re wrapped up in a warm sweater.

Amazing fragrance. Always puts a smile on my face when I smell it now. But even at first when I smelt it I was confused but holy crap does this smell good !! If you can get your hands on this cologne then boy oh boy you are lucky!

I've never sampled/tried older formulation of DHP, so this was a complete blind buy for me. I'd heard of all the commotion behind the reformulation, and while initially i didn't really care, curiosity got the best of me. So, I searched around. Normal pricing of old formulation DHP sat at around the $300usd mark. Not really going to spend that much on a designer unless it's private line. But then I finally found it-- full bottle (test sprays missing), no box, and in excellent condition. Price was well below that $300usd mark, so i said fck it, we roll. Man oh man was that a great decision. I just got my bottle in earlier this week, and immediately had to try it on skin. Intoxicating. That's what DHP is-- intoxicating. I get it now. I get why this was SO loved by y'all. You're immediately met with this lipstick-y iris, rounded off with rose. The leather starts to come in strong in the heart with iris and rose still permeating. Then, to wrap it all up, you have mass appealing oud and amber to join the fray. It's all just so intoxicating. The leather and rose really rounds this off in such a beautiful way. They're not fighting for a spot to get noticed. Rather, they support the star of the show; iris. DHP is also monstrous. It performs the way i wished my gris charnel extrait (another LOVE of mine) did. If i must put a number to it, I get 12+ hours easily on my skin, and projection for an easy 5hrs with a large enough scent bubble that if you overspray, you WILL make people around you gag. Even after a shower DHP is still radiating off of my skin. So i get it y'all. I get it now. I get why this was so loved. I cannot for the life of me imagine WHY this needed to be changed. I don't. You don't mess with perfection.

I have 3 and a half bottles of this. It's easily my number 1 favorite fragrance of all time. It is quite strong the whole day, Iris heavy in the opening and sandalwood heavy in the dry down. Rose and leather are subtle and so beautifully blended that you can barely tell them apart but they certainly add to the character of the fragrance. It's a 10 ou of 10 for me and it's the only fragrance that gets this note as far as I'm concerned. To like this you do have to like Iris, so definitely not blind buy safe, especially at the price that it sells these days if you can find a bottle. I find that Matiere Premiere Santal Austral Extrait goes in a very similar direction as this one, and I think it's closer than Harmonious is, at least to my nose. Obviously different with more sandalwood and sweeter than DHP, but it does scratch the same itch. Harmonious to me opens up more fresh than DHP but after a while it settles into something similar. Of course DH Intense is also similar although it has a chocolate dry down that DHP does not have- to my nose. If you like DHP and want something to replace it, these three fragrances are the ones that I recommend. If anyone has more recommendations they are very welcome.

This is widely considered the best men's iris, and deservedly so. Its mixture of iris, leather, sandalwood and ambrette make it perfect for dressy occasions, and it has enormous projection and longevity. It also has the absolute right amount of oud so that it's not overwhelming. I wouldn't wear this to work, but it's the perfect date fragrance given how classy it is.

This one is hard one for me. I know a ton of people LOVE this, including my wife…. But it smells like straight up makeup to me… and I cant understand why I or any male would want to smell like makeup…? So obviously its very Iris dominant. I just prefer my iris a little more subtle. Performance is great, I will give it that. Confusing scent for me, but Id rather wear something like Armani Code parfum or Givenchy Gentleman Boisee for my Iris type scent.

For me this sample was a learning lesson. Namely, the lesson I learned is to be wary of iris-heavy scents. Upon initially spraying, I almost want to wash it off - it is so cloyingly powdery but also has this soapy-clean-laundry-detergent quality I almost can't get past. After an hour it has mellowed out quite a bit; still powdery and iris-heavy but not screaming at me. Maybe it's my aversion to iris, but I really can't smell the leather or cocoa in this. I get something vaguely woodsy-vetiver-y in the base, but the iris just dominates too heavily to distinguish anything specific. HOWEVER, one day I decided, experimentally, to layer this on top of encre noir. TOTAL transformation, as in "maybe I like iris in the right context?" I wouldnt say I was in love with the combination, but it's certainly preferable as far as I'm concerned: it added all the darkness that I felt was missing to balance out the "laundry detergent" notes. I really wanted to like this, but instead it taught me to fear the iris

I just can't get over this discontinuation. My Spain based best friend bought a bottle for me blindly and man it was the best iris scent i've ever smelled. Smooth, leathery and very potent. The sweater I was wearing the first time I tried this was washed three times over the course of three weeks and this perfume lingered nonetheless. Absolute beast. Find it more versatile than most people think but this is one of the few that gives me the need to pair it with nice clothes. Just really really refined. Maybe I can't get over it because I had a full bottle and lost it when someone robbed my house. Anyways. Bought a bottle recently and if I can will get another one. 10/10 perfume. One of the jewels of my crown.

I have a bottle with a specific date and batch number; it's elegant, beautiful, and long-lasting, but I don't smell the leather scent. I smell the iris with the woods in a character that is both joyful and mysterious. I sprayed it on my inner elbow 12 hours ago and I can still smell it like my skin.

Just wanted to share my findings for an alternative to this discontinued formulation. Harmonious by Bodicea the Victorious is definitely very similar to Dior Homme Parfum, especially in the opening. Still, I believe Dior Homme Parfum is superior, but Harmonious can definitely fill the void at a "reasonable" price (discounters, ebay, etc...) at around $150. Might as well save a bit more and get the real thing IMO.

Someone below described this fragrance as “I'm smelling a mouth-watering glass of fresh Coca Cola…In other moments, I smell decadently pungent leather covered in deliciously caramelized flower.” And this review inspired me to get a decant and try this despite having been disappointed by Dior homme intense and Dior homme original. Finally I get what the hype was about. I get the most beautiful Coca Cola like spices and masculine leather. Very unique and classy. 9.5/10

Dior Homme Parfum is not a fragrance for everyone, and honestly, it does not even try to be. This is iris, leather, rose and woods blended into something dark, elegant and almost arrogant. The iris is smooth and powdery, but not soft in a harmless way. The leather gives it power, the rose adds a rich seductive touch and the oud, sandalwood and cedar make the whole scent feel deep, expensive and serious. This is the kind of fragrance that does not ask for attention; it assumes it already has it. Sexy, confident, dressed up and slightly untouchable. It smells like a man who knows exactly what he is doing and does not need to explain much. But please, do not even think about wearing this in warm weather. This is not made for summer, beach days or casual heat. It needs cold air, night, good clothes and the right attitude. In the wrong setting, it can easily become too heavy. In the right setting, it is absolutely phenomenal.

Commenting on a 2020 batch This stuff is good - like a more masculine version of Dior Homme Intense. It’s almost identical, but it has the sweetness toned down and a prominent leather note in the base. While the performance is much better on DHP, I’d say DHI smells far more elegant and unique. 6.5/10

i got so lucky finding this one in an unknown online perfume shop. this might be my favorite perfume of all time. it smells like a wealthy sophisticated man who only owns black clothing and has an all black house and drives a black car. it's a cringe worthy comparison but it's true. it's also the reason i hesitate to wear this perfume out, because i do not give off that vibe and i feel like i'm making a mockery of this perfume when i wear it. i will also cherish my bottle so good it's probably still gonna be 90% full by the time i'm in a nursing home. 10/10

This is cinema. Bought it at a duty free a week before it was discontinued and it is now maybe my favourite scent oat. Its masculine, smoky and elegant. The powder iris with the soft bed of amber is heaven to me. So sad it was Discontinued but that's life. Probably worth the price it is now tbh

Just bought a backup bottle and may well get another. Perhaps my favourite in the Homme line, although I have not tried them all. Original is also absolutely beautiful and both have their place in my collection. More overtly masculine than Homme Intense with less sweetness in the opening. Without a doubt one of the best fragrances I own.

the iris and rose notes reminds me of a muslim household, it holds this scent throughout

This was the most classy & elegant leather fragrance in the world 🌏 It is the epitome of elegance, sophistication and class 👑 If you have fine taste, you know what a mistake Dior did by replacing it with the 2025 joke. RIP to DHP 😔 they could've at least kept it and released the joke by the joker 🃏 Francis Kurkdjian as a separate edition, but no, the joker had to butcher it because he was jealous of the great François Demachy 👑 and where's the creativity in removing a leather accord from a leather fragrance and doubling the iris? @Crumpets if you tried this at Gatwick recently then you are on the wrong page. This is the Dior Homme Parfum that was discontinued at end of 2024. You need the Dior Homme Parfum 2025 page (a quite different fragrance).

Tried this at Gatwick airport, it’s fine but it’s not as good as Dior Homme Original. I was expecting big things and it’s just a smokier, dirtier version of DHO.

To me this is a Masterpiece. Bought a backup before discontinuation. Hard to wear tho, it demands to look the best, truly a special occasion fragrance.

This Dior mf's made this even kind of more exclusive right now with higher price and 75ml. /mad

This fragrance is like a beautiful hologram. My nose can't quite decide what it's smelling. In some moments, I could swear that I'm smelling a mouth-watering glass of fresh Coca Cola. Dark, sweet, fizzy, sparkly, satisfying... In other moments, I smell decadently pungent leather covered in deliciously caramelized flower petals. Deep, smooth, rich, animalic, powdery... It has aspects of beautiful femininity, as well as aspects of rugged masculinity, melded together in perfect, sophisticated, mature balance. As if it was the concentrated essence of the love and love-making of an extremely attractive, middle-aged, wealthy power couple. It's not mass-appealing. It's not office safe or blind buy safe. It's challenging, polarizing... But god damn is it unique and amazing. I don't think I've ever smelled another fragrance that is as intense and complex, while still being so beautifully smooth and enjoyable. This fragrance makes me love the note of leather, but I haven't found any other fragrance that uses a leather note as well as DHP does. Shame on you, Dior, for discontinuing this absolute legend of a fragrance, and replacing it with such generic slop.

Not tried any of the other formulations, but the original 75ml one I have: greatest fragrance ever made.
