The trick is to just spray this one or two times to the chest. And maybe a single spray to the wrist. That’s it. This is the kind of stuff that really shines in moderation, as opposed to spraying it like a Chanel. Admittedly, this took me a while to realise.

What do a spilled splash bottle and stepping in gasoline have in common? I have recently spilled too much of a vintage "splash" version of Fahrenheit. Lucky it landed on my chest. After cursing under my breath, I accepted my screw-up and laughed. And decided to take the evening trying to study what makes vintage Fahrenheit great. After pondering, and a deleted draft of this review, I can say that the standout difference is the performance.... Hold on a minute before you jump to an assumption that the older is stronger. Many people, including myself, talk and type about performance. We speak in terms of our own noses what other noses around us care to say or answer to our presence or questions Performance for me is also in the texture and the presence of the smell. Think of the smoke of a candle compared to smoke from a burning trash or a forrest. The former is less in quantity than the latter. However, in texture and presence, the difference is vast. One conjures feelings of peace, spirituality, and religion or culture. The other is imminent danger and panic. I hate it when we are praising the old based on performance and memories. It seems counterintuitive to me. Many of us won't get the opportunity to use vintage perfumes, so why tease about it? As owner of Vintage Fahrenheit, I rarely use it; I prefer the new one. If you ever got a couple of droplets of gasoline or stepped in a bit of gasoline, you will know that even hours after you reached home and changed clothes, it seems that the aura of gasoline is still haunting you. (or the room where you left your shoes in) This is the metaphor I would use for the performance of vintage Fahrenheit. It feels alien; it is hollow, pervasive, and simply stunning in its "scent bubble" Not because it is strong, but because it feels so different that your nose refuses to ignore it. It compares to the faint smoke of a forest fire or the lingering aroma of a burned pan that you put all the way in the back of your cabinets. It seems to haunt the whole area for DAYS. The modern version feels good, and robust, and it behaves like modern perfumes because it uses modern chemicals. I like that it keeps up the florals in a clear and defined manner (where the vintage seems to blur the heart/flower notes) and has this sort of predictable pulse that gives me comfort in knowing what to expect for the upcoming hours after spraying. And if it seems a bit weaker, just respray. So don't get too hung up on vintage stuff. Yes, it is nice, but it's not always automatically better. Just enjoy what you have. However, I know that for us fragrance nuts, that's a difficult thing to do; otherwise, you wouldn't be wasting your time reading this.

The original Dior Fahrenheit, before reformulation, was the pinnacle of excellence. This was singlehandedly what got me into fragrance. I remember in fall 1989, my 8th-grade year, standing at my dresser and rationing the samples I received from a really generous salesperson from, I believe, The May Company or Kaufmann's Department Store. The original formula back then was nuclear. It was amazing! Today's formula is simply awful. Completely disrespectful of what it once was. I will spend the rest of my life waiting for Dior to re-create the original formula. To quote Trent Reznor, I know that this will be "something I can never have". The original formula of Dior Fahrenheit was literally the greatest fragrance ever created.

Insane staple for gearheads since it somewhat reminisces the smell of gasoline. I sensed its OG formulation from my father, it was insanely good and would last a week, modern batches are a little weaker but longevity ain’t so bad. I’ll miss this because it’s going to be a while before I acquire another bottle.

This is a very masculine and unique fragrance. When I was younger, I used to secretly borrow a few sprays from my grandfather's bottle for special occasions. I always received compliments whenever I wore it. More than anything, this fragrance reminds me of my grandfather—may he rest in peace. The memories attached to it make it truly timeless for me.

The masterpiece that I have been looking for.

One word to describe this: AMAZING. I wore since 1995 and I love it now as I loved it before. It was a little stronger.

Not as polarizing as people put it to be. Grows on you slowly. Certainly manly and mature and heavy.

One of the most iconic fragrances out there. Timeless, masculine and still great quality. Goes really well with a face stubble. I always pair it with a white Tshirt, unbuttoned shirt and my LV shades. Makes me feel powerful

Too many people hear a few big influencers call it “dated” or “gasoline” and simply parrot that opinion instead of giving it a real chance on skin. Worn with confidence, Fahrenheit is surprisingly versatile: it shines in cooler weather, works both dressed up and smart casual, and it absolutely can pull compliments. It isn’t meant to please everyone, and that’s exactly what makes it stand out. If you’re tired of smelling like every other safe, mass‑appeal release and want something with history, uniqueness, and attitude, Dior Fahrenheit is a true masterpiece that deserves far more respect than the echo‑chamber criticism it gets.

Holy moly do I feel like a man with this one. Reminds me of turning wrenches and getting covered in grease. Wiping my oily hands on an old shirt turned to a rag.

If Tony Stark wore a cologne, this would be it.

Opens with: rubber, barber shop, nutmeg. Not for me. Feels "dated", old school in a bad way.

I don't understand the hate, just a very masculine leather classic

Unfortunately, it is reformulated very badly. Although I spray a lot, it almost doesn't smell.no projection and sillage

I love this one. Really! I have a very old bottle almost 15 years and recently i bought a new one and they still smell the same. The complexity and the dry out, leather, cedars, lavender... I love it

Just smells like Dior Sauvage elixir, but really done worse

Im gonna get a leather moto jacket, a face tattoo and start smoking cigarettes so I can pull this off.

This doesn't apply to most people, but if you hunt deer you'll understand. When you hang the deer to harvest the meat, the smell of the dead deer gets this animalic pissy smell that mixes with the smell of blood and raw meat. SO basically a mix of harsh lether, sweet/metallic blood as well as animalic and pissy notes. That's what this smells like — a deer hide that's been hanging for harvest. If you want to smell like you harvested a dead animal, here you go.

Wow I finally got my nose on this scent and it is addictive. It smells very juicy, intriguing, and masculine in a very soft way. Upon first spray, I was dissapointed because I expected some kind of sharpness. All this talk of gasoline... (which I can percieve) I expected a solid edge to it that might be super polarizing like indian oud or something. This is soft, floral elegance in my opinion. There is no moss, cypress, or dominant vetiver to make this an aggresive classic man scent; yet it is clearly classic. It brings a strong sense of tranquility that feels dreamy in some ways. I'm pretty sure it's the lily-of-the valley. It is so perfectly well blended. From the bright sunny manderin, to the enigmatic violet leaf. Makes me think of how heaven would smell if it has a scent. I personally wish it was intense or an elixir because it's that damn amazing.

I have heard a lot of reviews of it, and a lot of people seem to not like this particular scent profile. To me, this is the definition of a signature scent. This is absolutely, the best thing I have come across on my fragrance journey. It is hyper masculine, great longevity, great projection. Everything about this fragrance is perfect. It is perfect for colder months, and I believe people hate on it, because influencers told them to do so. Absolute banger.

Want to know what the good old EDT smells like? Get a 200ml bottle of Fahrenheit Shower Gel. It's almost identical. 😮 I don't get why nobody knows this. But okay, I'm the first one to figure it out. 👑 You're welcome 💕
