I bought this in 2018 and it is still one of my favorite perfumes! I like floral with a little bit of an edge and I think that's what the salty element does for me.

Edit: Actually, I changed my mind about this one:) Yes, it isn't ground breaking, but there is something so elegant, so addicting. It smells like the original J'Adore with extra fruitiness and salty ocean air, but very nicely blended. It smells like a posh lady in the evening after a day at the beach. I have a 10 mL travel size on the way! Original review: I really like some of the other Jadore flankers, but Jadore in Joy is really basic and boring. I was about to blind buy it, but thankfully I sampled first. Shampoo with a touch of salt.

Ahhh. The salt, the peach. So well done. I can barely tell them apart because all the notes are just so well blended. This perfume smells like a delectable fruit ice tea on a hot summer day. And I am really impressed how the salt balances out the sweet fruit and floral notes without making the perfume aquatic or herbal. The peach as a base is brilliant as well, it’s aromatic but slighty sweet and tangy just like real peaches. one of the few mainstream designer perfumes that are unique and enjoyable. i need a dupe asap

I love this! It's in the same vein as their joy, and kenzos lumiere flower and red flower. It's definitely most similar to kenzo flower lumiere. It's a summer perfume that makes me feel like a french courtesan in the nicest way possible. It's that salty jasmine smell. Floral layered over animalic.

Good grief, the opening has no salty notes on my skin at all. Just a sickeningly sweet, nauseating barrage of fruits and florals. It becomes less offensive in about half an hour, but the candied air freshener smell lingers.

Salty solar tuberose, same gender as DG Shine or Beach Walk. Although drydown is nice there is some tart green note which I can’t identify in the opening. Otherwise nice smooth.

this is the only exception i've found to my peach aversion. it's a super watery, dewy peach, and i swear there's a marshmallow note in here too. it's not really the scent profile i gravitate towards at all, but it's so nice. the bottle i have was my grandmother's. it was practically brand new when she passed away, so i don't necessarily associate it with her (her signature was YSL Opium), but it's still special to wear because it was once hers. wearing it today and every time i get a whiff of it i feel this strong pull of nostalgia for something i can't put my finger on. it's so lovely

Not a strong scent, but one that kind of just enhances the smell of your own skin if you know what I mean. Straight out of the bottle I get honeysuckle which isn't even on the list of ingredients, but that's the smell it reminds me of straight away. But as it dries on the skin it gets really warm, fruity and I do get the salty, but I like it. It's one that will have you sniffing your wrist again and again just to get another whiff.

J’Adore in Joy represents Dior’s take on a salty, white/yellow floral for summertime wear! The classic J’Adore is probably the most beloved Dior fragrance and for good reason! This seems to be less liked, but it’s my favourite J’Adore. J’Adore in Joy is a fabulous choice for careless sunny, warm days spent out in the sunshine. It retains the heart floral of the iconic J’Adore but it has been twisted by adding a top note of salt, cutting down the amount of fruits and woods and adding a tropical, exotic facet with the addition of ylang ylang. It’s a more creamy, bright, elegant, a saltier, marine, yellow floral version of the 1999 iconic J’Adore! While I love and own the classic, luminous J’Adore, I adore J’Adore in Joy! I happen to have a crush on salty perfumes, which I wasn’t even aware until recently.. I am not sure if it was intended to be a limited edition launch, but like with all the designer’s perfumes I love, seems to not be available to purchase currently. Does anyone know if J’Adore in Joy is officially discontinued??

The dominant note here is the neroli, because who enjoys an unripe tart peach? Plus it just is. And by the way, it will grow on you. The year it came out it from from hate to a must have.

Blind Bought a 1 oz bottle for a very good price. I love the original J’adore for its clean, feminine, floral qualities so I thought “why not!” and I purchased Jadore in Joy, I was assuming it would be similar to the OG but I was wrong. It started off with a burst of that Salt note, very reminiscent of Thierry Mugler’s salty accords in Womanity. Im surprised no one has mentioned the similarities. J’adore In Joy is basically Womanity with a dash of drowned out white florals and a peachy base. Definitely not a safe blind buy. If you like TM’s Womanity you’ll like Joy, if you are looking for that J’adore vibe you won’t find it with this one. I will keep using this, hopefully it grows on me or it will gifted.

My signature scent for a few years now. Absolutely stunning, elegant, well-blended, unique, effortless... I really don't understand the low-ish rating, maybe because it doesn't have that smell of the OG J'Adore? Idk, it's definitely more contemporary and less mature, but I find that to be a positive. The only thing I can fault is the longevity and projection but it's an EDT so 3-4hrs is pretty standard.

Today it opened surprisingly green and fresh. Immediately I can detect neroli, then jasmin. Ylang-ylang gives the composition texture, the sea salt is but a shadow in the top notes. It reminds me of J'adore L'Eau Cologne Florale. The peach is indeed in the base notes. I remember it more salty. Added J'adore L'Eau Cologne on my wrist - it is fresher and greener than In Joy, which is indeed similar but more floral. After a couple of hours it becomes a salty peach, the floral heart changes to a spacious note. It feels marine-like but joyous?

This is nasty... smells nothing like the original Jadore, very strange combination, I am glad I've only bought a sample to test it out.

this was the first perfume i ever bought with my own money, and for some reason was my signature all throughout high school (mostly because it was the only perfume i owned lol) which is crazy because in my opinion no 14 year old girl should be wearing white florals 24/7 this is still mostly fine but i associate it entirely with school dances and football games and high school drama. and for that reason j'adore in joy i'm sorry my dear but you are in the bottom this week

I don't like the opening it smells cheapo, and most likely because of its white floral notes (i'm not a white floral person). The drydown is soft but very skin scent. Last for only 2-3 hours.

I'm so glad I only got a sample of this instead of buying a whole bottle, because I really really hate it! I've had to scrub it off (multiple times as it was persistent). I enjoy all the floral and fruity notes listed so it must be the salt. I was really looking forward to this and I love the original J'adore so I'm disappointed. Smells nothing like J'adore unfortunately.

Ooooo! Immediately, I like this! The saltiness comes straight through on top, with the delicate white florals following behind. A touch of peachy yellow flowers at the base, and this is honestly summertime floral perfection. The shampoo-like scent of the original j’adore has been replaced with an almost beachy vibe… J’adore, to either its advantage or detriment, smells very 90s (I personally love all eras of perfumery, so this isn’t necessarily a con to me) but this smells a lot more modern, without losing its original characteristics. I really like this! This, and Absolu, are my favorites of the J’adore line.

Starts off very different from other J'Adore flankers I've smelt. It starts off bright and fruity. I believe that's the peach with just enough white florals in the background to ground it. So far the white florals don't seem indolic. I'm getting none of the urine-like overripe white floral scent I get from the original 1999 J'Adore or YSL's Mon Paris. Whatever they did here smells much better, cleaner and younger. 20 mins in the bright juicy peach has dissipated and J'Adore's signature indolic white flower scent has taken over. The indolic scent is well-tamed however so it never goes overly putrid.

J'adore in Joy is a boardwalk, beachy, solar, sandy perfume that actually reminds me of Miami Glow by Jennifer Lopez. Miami Glow is more tropical and fruity, but they both share that unmistakable sandy, solar, beach accord. I actually don't think that J'adore in Joy smells like any of the other J'adore flankers or even like the original J'adore Dior - but that's just my own personal experience. J'adore in Joy smells like it's own unique beachy perfume. If you enjoy sandy, coastal, solar, beachy scents like the ones below, I think you would enjoy J'adore in Joy: - Replica Beach Walk - JHAG Vanilla Vibes - Miami Glow - Jennifer Lopez - Beachfront Blanket - Bath and Body Works - Tease Dreamer - Victoria's Secret

This is supposed to smell like a ‘tropical’ version of J’adore, or like a less obnoxious Olympea; however, to me it smells like a mixture of Hypnotic Poison and Black Opium! It is quite nutty, with some ground coffee beans adder to the mix - so, it doesn’t smell ‘beachy’, but almost gourmand! I think that the combination of sweet ylang, peach and tuberose on the one hand, and salt+neroli on the other hand is playing tricks with my nose. I have no idea why this scent was released as part of the J’adore collection, because it doesn’t resemble the original at all. Anyway, I don’t like it.

Fine. Fresh. Feminine. 💅🏻 A beachy take on the original J'adore, and Olympéa's much more well put together sister. Such a refreshing and elegant blend of salt, peach, and jasmine.

I've had this fragrance for a while now, ever since it was launched. It's a Like for me. Nothing groundbreaking, pleasant and fresh with no usual suspects like lemons or mint. It's sparkling and light, like bellini. Peach usually leaves cheap and plastic feel, but there are no such downsides here. This S/S season I finally keep it in the front as my most reached for fragrance. Baccarat and the clones are EVERYWHERE so I thought that this one has the trendy mineral vibe, but in a decent, subdued and non-intrusive way. Perfect for daytime in the hot coastal town, where I live. That's in theory. My disappointment lays in the longevity - there's none. The dent in the bottle is evident, all drained this season. Alas, I can't smell anything by the time I leave the house. I unsealed it myself and kept properly (obsessively) in the cool dark cabinet, with the rest of my collection. If i didn’t know better, I'd suspect that it hasn't been stored properly and therefore lost the performance quality. It's that weak. The first sprays are lovely refreshing and mineral as they should be and then it's gone. Beautiful presentation, beautifully colored liquid, but shockingly illusive scent. As a reference, and a sort of a reply to the reviewer below: I too do consider L'Or the gem in the J'Adore line and I certainly wouldn't mind investing in a bottle, whereas In Joy can't be compared to it from any aspect, especially not the "value for money".

A salty note done right! If you enjoy the original Olympea for its upscale (or if you're cynical, wannabe upscale) salty, beachy aroma but over time start to pick up on its rather synthetic nature, give this one a try. I don't remember what J'Adore or any of its myriad flankers smell like so I can't compare (although, raving reviews lauding J'Adore Or as the perfect warm white floral have really piqued my interest in that one, and I will try to hunt down a sample). J'Adore in Joy is quite well-blended. Nothing is "too" much in here and I struggle to pick out individual notes on my skin other than the prominent salt which undergirds the creamy concoction. In Joy is a simple, solar white floral that is perfectly safe for the indole-avoidant. This would be lovely on sun-bronzed skin dressed up in a breezy white cotton dress.

Too bad it's discontinued. I wish I could find this in Dior boutiques or Sephora's etc.. I love salty notes and really wondered to have this.

Today I finally had the chance to try this perfume. It is like a classic sharp perfume smell to me. What it reminds me of is the smell that comes from my mother's friends when I met them when I was in elementary school. I think it definitely appeals to over 30 years old. I think it's an energetic, happy scent and suitable for all seasons.

Today's contact with my bottle of In Joy finds it refreshing, girly and cute. As if you added citrusy magnolia to the top notes of the eau de toilette classic. It is less flowery. Still floral but with fruity edge to the scent. Funnily enough this year's dark pink magnolias all scent the air around them to a similar citrusy, pure freshness. It is similar to the classic just the highlight is on the fruity, juicy, fresh. It is an aura of a scent. It performs worse than my fav edt 2011 edition. And I think it is less durable. Not sure. I found it salty during summer. Now, during April this aspect does not exist.

I really don’t like this. I like a touch of salt in perfumes and I like every single notes listed above but this is very salty. On my skin, the mix of white flowers, ylang ylang and salt result in egg yolk. I don’t know why or how, but not only do I sometimes get it from salty perfumes on my own skin, but I also strongly get it when these types of fragrances are worn by other people too :( Therefore, this is not an enjoyable experience for me whatsoever.
