I bought this perfume today i tried sample at first on paper and on my skin, the smell was very different on paper and skin, i wouldnt buy it if i havent sprayed it on my skin, on paper it smells sharp, rigid and smoky but on skin it turned to a warm white flower and vanilla smell, not too bold but well rounded with spices, i think it is very feminine and sexy, bottle design is beautiful, with deep purple color feels like a love elixir is in it, sensual and lustful.

Nota 1000 / 10 !

This perfume may be too intense for someone who prefers light notes. But overall, it's a great perfume!

So beautiful and classy

The most repulsive scent ever. Smells like they used up left over disparate fragrance notes

New formulations are an abomination and smell like black currant essence. Vile. Recently I smelled a vintage bottle from my very chic grandma and it was way more pleasant, but I'd never wear it. It's dark, juicy but at the same time powdery and at some point smelled exactly like those baby dolls when you'd just open the box.

Анонім

Tried on paper test strip -- absolutely vile. Stomach flipping. I kept sniffing at it over the course of 5 minutes waiting for it to change and it never did. I should have really liked it based on the scent notes. Couldn't pull any specific notes out because my body was violently rebelling against it. Maybe a modern formula issue????

Анонім

Nothing beats the vintage version. I own a few and the new version may as well be a dupe.

Probably a Parfum, that erased all the memories of any previous female Parfum in market, for nearly a decade. Such a powerful impact that any Parfum ever had in female world

I have the vintage version of this in the tall oval-shaped bottle rather than this squat, rounder new version bottle. I was worried that the vintage version would smell old fashioned or too overwhelming, but it is far from that. It is complex and unique, the ways today's fragrances often aren't. Next time I am out I will have to sample the new version to compare, but I highly recommend the vintage if you can get it!

This is a review of the 1989 EDP version, which I've managed to get my hands on. A 47-year-old bottle that still carries the magic, with a scent that remains flawless after all these years. Enjoy! 🖤 If you were to completely summon and portray the power of a sultry, unapologetic, vampiric, night-blooming tuberose growing next to a moonlit lake on a summer night, it would smell like "Poison" by Dior. Losing yourself in its alluring cloud will indeed stir and vivify its full potential and character, creating firm ground for a sensual, dangerous disaster. Tuberose, and its countless stories of being forbidden. And you... being the one who will lean closer, no matter the outcome. That is the power of this creation. "The dose makes the poison." But does it actually, in this case? Or is it rather the irresistible lure that blurs the line between less and... oh, so much more? To my nose, this is a perfect blend of sharp, creamy, earthy, dark, and sweet facets. Every flower listed in the notes has been carefully used to build and shape a super-flower, one that also carries a striking atmospheric story between its petals. The plum, honey, woods, and cinnamon add that extra edge to the brew. A picture of full-bodied tuberose flowers sprinkled with drops of wine and thrown onto dark-purple, pure silk bed linen. The creaminess and sweetness of the flower are wrapped in an almost cooling-breeze sensation, like the intoxicating mix of summer night air intertwining with the freshness lingering above and around the moonlit lake. It's as though you can almost smell the water and the mystery it carries in its depths. The dark purple and blue hues of the night sky dive deep into the lake's waters. The depth simultaneously invites and repels, while remaining so hard to resist. It calls gently, yet firmly, with perfect precision. A natural hunter with a clear aim and no need for extra effort. A sultry and dangerous nocturnal piece powered by dark romance, "blooming" beneath minty-green leaves and drowning your heart in the depth of its intoxicatingly sweet, warm, cozy, yet fatal amber embrace. She might as well keep you alive, call you hers, and protect you at all costs—but only if she decides. That is the other side of her endlessly feminine and fierce nature.

The best movie quote ever was in the film "Species" when Marg Helgenberger is freshing up in front of the mirror and spritzing on some Poison. Natasha Henstridge (alien monster in human form) looks at her and says "nice perfume, does it work with your boyfriend?" to which Marg replies "yes, as a repellant". Love it, my attitude totally every time I wear this. Huge flowers, huge tuberose with a very dark and dangerous side. Go for the vintage, all of them (EdC, EdT, EspritdP) are great.

In a previous review i said i couldn't see this as a dark fragrance, but more of a bright tuberose bomb. A great white floral. Well something has shifted. Truth is i still don't see this as a 'dark' fragrance. Black orchid is something i would call dark. But i do feel it's syrupy spiced notes much more. Well perhaps bc its 30•c outside. But it is sooo addictive in this summery warmth, So utterly delicious. I can totally imagine this on a warm to hot autumn evening, it would be glorious. 🍁💮🍁 I do get how polarizing this is. I can see how this spicy aspect mainly steered by the coriander and incense later joined by anise and opponax can be ofputting and unwanted by people who catch a whiff of this potion. Yes the air of mystery is unmistakable.. I currently love wearing this at home where i can bathe and bask in it's mysterious and sensual aura, preferably in warm weather.

I wish, it will be reformulated into the past version again.

Stole this from my grandma when I was a kid and ended up being my signature scent for a while in high school. I’m pretty sure the one I had was from the 90s or something cause it didn’t even have the spray thingy, then again makes sense cause it was my grandma’s

Анонім

I'm wearing it now and I feel unapologetically bold!! This is not a youthful nor "pretty" girl perfume. I think dark feminine who isn't out to impress a man, but the ultimate untamed woman, with class, poise, style and knows her power. Characters fit for this: Morticia Addams (Angelica Houston) Maddie Perez (season 3 of Euphoria) Xayide (Never-Ending story 2)

This is one of the few designer perfumes that I have. I wore this fragrance in the 80s to death and so did everybody else lol. I purchased a bottle a couple years ago and was so disappointed at the changes. It didn’t smell anything like it used to. I put it in my wooden chest out of the light and let it sit and actually forgot all about it. Just today I sprayed some on me and it smells just as beautiful as I remember this Perfume needs to sit to fully get anything that’s even close to the original. So I’m thinking I need to buy a couple more bottles and let them sit before they change the recipe laws again for fragrances.

The Shadow’s Silhouette: An Elegy for Dior Poison In the theater of the avant-garde, there are scents that whisper of gardens, and then there is Poison—a fragrance that breathes of the Eclipse. It is an Opalescent Surge of the forbidden, a bottled nocturnal ritual designed for the woman who finds her Radiant Dominance in the spaces between the stars and the soil. The Midnight Overture The first spray is a Nocturnal Infusion of bruised plums and wild, fermented berries—a dark, Manicured Lushness that feels like a velvet curtain falling over the world. It is the scent of a Gilded Incantation, sharp with coriander and a honeyed, intoxicating bitterness. It doesn’t merely linger; it establishes a Weightless Authority over the air, dissolving the Odoriferous Noise of the mundane to make way for a Legendary Entrance. The Heart: A Macabre Botanical At its core lies a Velveteen Symphony of Tuberose—the "Bone Flower" of perfumery—rendered here in a state of Crystalline Decay. It is a High-Couture Clarity born from the shadows, an ethereal floral that feels both ancient and dangerously modern. This is the Refined Epicenter of the composition: a mystical bloom that thrives in the cold light of the moon, offering a Sanctuary of Sophistication to those who dare to wear their power like a shroud of silk. The Base: The Infinite Nocturne The dry-down is a Molten Infusion of opopanax and dark resins, a lingering Aura of Distinction that haunts the skin like a whispered secret. It provides a Limitless Currency of mystery, a trail of smoke and amber that suggests the wearer is a Refined Architect of her own fate. It is the final, Gilded Masterpiece in a story of beautiful danger—a scent that proves the most Absolute Radiance is often found within the dark. Dior Poison. Fatal. Ethereal. Transcendent.

Bought this for my inner 80s goth, when i first opened the bottle and sprayed it I could smell the coriander, berries and rosewood, after shaking the bottle a bit now all I can smell is absinthe and myrrh, I’m not complaining though

Анонім

No thanks. This made me gag

I bought Poison blindly, without knowing anything about its scent. The moment I smelled it, I was completely enchanted. It has such a unique, signature fragrance strangely vintage, as if it's not from this era at all. When I wear it, it feels like I'm being transported to another universe. In short, it gives off the vibe of a witch flying on a broomstick through a swamp on a rainy night/dark, mystical, and powerfully atmospheric. This is definitely not a perfume for ordinary people. It's bold and strong, but perfect for confident, dark, mysterious souls who love to make a statement.

My mom got the bottle she gifted to me now in new york, around 2003. Still smells amazing all these years later. My mom always told me she'd let me have the full bottle the night before my first dinner date, safe to say the guy was impressed by how I smelled. It's a lot more white floral-ey than people make it out to be, but the fruit is so overpowering at first, some people don't let the richness come from the dry down lol.. xD, she's sultry, but nothing sexier than a slit in the dress, she knows restraint. 9/10

Tried a spritz and was disappointed. I remember loving this when it came out - back when loud scents needed no apology. New formulation is aggressively strong whereas I recall being lured by its sensual oriental presentation. What happened?!? One half-pump spray: Longevity: 6+ hours Sillage: arm length with trail (can imagine slaying people if I had fully sprayed) Rating: old formula 4/5 less star for large sillage, new formula 2/5

Im so happy I got a sample of this rather than blind-buying the bottle because this smells like a camping trip - piss and bug spray.

Анонім

This is sweet, powdery, woody, spicy. It is a safe perfume to buy for the alt girlies.

Анонім

I recently got myself a 30ml bottle for nostalgic purposes. I had a bottle of this nearly 30 years ago and wow it was gorgeous. Today's reformulation is definitely not as beautiful as the old scent, it is not as smooth and has a very very smokey skanky smell. I'm actually very disappointed because the old fragrance was as smooth as honey in the drydown. It was strong but divine!

Анонім

I liked it enough to buy the bottle but now I’m not sure I truly like it. The smell in the drydown is very powdery and … obnoxious - I’m starting to get a headache from how linear it is. Poison is another one of those vintage smelling “everything but the kitchen sink” perfumes .. I would call good girl by Carolina Herrera a modern rendition of an everything but the kitchen sink fragrance as well. These translates into muddied and horrible blended formulations

Анонім

Yikes, this was a stench. The scent of the 80s and also the sound (of people coughing, wheezing, boaking and falling stunned in the wearers' wake). Might have been used as a weapon but should (if there was any justice in the world) have been banned by internation strategic arms treaties. Even more toxic fumes than Megamare, which is going some.
