Fruity, smoky, slightly sweet tobacco fragrance. It lasts ages and projects well. True high end smelling fragrance for special occasions or everyday wear. I was planning on purchasing Dior Ambre Nuit, but then the sales rep recommended his favourite from the private line. It was Tobacolor. Once I tried it, there was only one option! I would highly recommend for anyone late twenties and up with disposable income, but if you can wear your fragrance with confidence, age doesn’t matter.

Imagine blending **Dior Homme Intense** with **Xerjoff Naxos**, but instead of what you'd expect, you're greeted by an entirely different kind of sweetness. This is the scent of a wealthy man between 25 and 45 who embraces an old-money style—effortlessly elegant, quietly confident, and impeccably dressed. It's exactly how you'd imagine someone like that should smell.

This is the most beautiful tobacco note I’ve ever come across, right after Thameen’s Bravi. It has a nostalgic vibe to it, like sitting in a cozy, warm house where someone used to smoke a pipe filled with premium tobacco. Don't worry, the plum note isn’t overpowering at all—the scent is more dry than sweet. It just screams class and high quality, with zero cheapness. The longevity is incredible and the projection is fantastic. Pretty much every fragrance from this collection offers amazing performance and uniqueness. They truly stand out—nothing like your typical mainstream or even other niche houses.I’m head over heels for this juice and love wearing it on cooler days. It's a total unisex gem, a true standout in today's endless sea of cloying, sugary scents made for teenagers. Honestly, it's worth every single penny. P.S For God's sake, this has absolutely nothing in common with By The Fireplace Intense – that's total nonsense!

Dang, this is one of the worst Dior private line scents I’ve ever smelt. Very disappointing. It opens up with this screechy and nauseating tobacco. I understand that this is a tobacco fragrance, but I was not aware it would be this overwhelming scent. Do not recommended at all. 2/10

Tobacco and smoke are practically inseparable—they're a package deal. Then honey and amber step in, smoothing out the rough edges and giving the whole composition a beautifully rounded finish. I like it like that

Анонім

Hard to describe. Very unique. Unapologetically bold without being aggressive. It has a strong personality and naturally pulls focus without becoming offensive. It smells like a "rich homeless man"—rugged, unconventional, slightly disheveled, yet undeniably expensive and intriguing. A scent that breaks the rules but somehow makes them seem irrelevant.

Анонім

Absolutely love this. The first smell, once sprayed, has the most smokiness, which I wish lasted a bit longer. It transforms into a sweet honey with a tad of darkness. Big, big fan. I can confirm from a Dior employee that they are putting this in the back to make room for new fragrances. They don't have a date in mind, but this and New Look won't be available eventually.

Анонім

This fragrance doesn’t carry a tobacco scent—it blends plum and amber less incense instead, creating a rich, sweet, and luxuriously addictive aroma.

Анонім

Honestly the greatest fragrance (and scent in general) that my nose has ever smelled. The combination of gooey honey and juicy plum and peach with the warm tobacco is just beautiful. Dior continues to be my favorite fragrance house, I just am in love with Tobacolor, if you haven’t smelled it, you NEED to.

Анонім

A fantastically blended scent. Honey, tobacco (the pleasant kind), amber, some fruitiness from the peach and plum. Beautiful for cold weather, special occasions, dates, and the like.

Анонім

Syrupy sweet tobacco and honey, some boozy plum and spices, strong performance on my 2023 batch. The smokiness and slight earthiness from the tobacco gives it a nice contrast to the honey. It does remind me of Smoking Hot with the sweetness and smokiness but that goes in a different direction, like an apple shiesha. I got an absolute steal on this too, 50 Euro for an 80% full 50ml

Анонім

Good smokiness but the honey and plum just overpowers. Definetly for night time-winter season...sadly its just a little too masculine for me but would even suggest gents to sample and not blind purchase, the sweetness is SO strong. EDIT- I had to wash it off my skin after 2hrs it was getting more syrupy

Let me start with a confession: I bought a 100ml bottle from the Dior boutique, and within a few weeks, I tracked down a 250ml bottle from a discounter. That's 350ml of one fragrance, and I have zero regrets. That alone should tell you everything! Tobacolor is a tobacco scent that defies every expectation. There's nothing stale, nothing heavy, nothing that reminds you of an old ashtray, which was the initial assumption I had about this scent. Instead, Demachy wraps the smokiness in something airy, peachy, and plummy. Warm without being cloying, comforting without being dull. My wife finds it sexy and intriguing, and I think she's spot on. It leans mature but not dated, approachable but never boring. It's the kind of scent that just lifts you up and hugs you. Demachy himself put it perfectly: "I wrapped the tobacco's characteristic smokiness with sweet, fruity and warm, joyful notes. Tobacolor is as powerful as it is cheery. It is an enveloping, comfortably endearing fragrance." That's exactly what this is. The ratings here honestly don't reflect how special this is. Part of me appreciates that because it feels like a discovery. But I'd be doing a disservice not to say this; I was told by a Dior SA that Demachy's work in the Privée line may be discontinued. Vanilla Diorama, New Look, and Feve Delicieuse are all now history. If that's true, this is genuinely your sign to act. Demachy created Miss Dior and Sauvage. He's the reason Dior became what it is in the fragrance world, and his work deserves so much more respect than it's getting from Dior in my opinion. This is an olfactory journey and a genuine art piece. Grab it while you still can!

I am planning to sell one of my Old Discontinued 220/250ml Dior Tobacolor in EU. if interested shoot me a message!!

Анонім

Disappointment. The opening really resembles honey syrup and is disgusting. The perfume's opening is terrible, but it becomes bearable after an hour. It's like a different interpretation of Herod and Naxos, but it hasn't quite achieved what Naxos has. 6.75/10

Thank you for your patience as I followed up on this. just now Advisor message Our management team has not been advised that there are any plans to discontinue this scent from La Collection Privee. Message from Dior chat. I will be calling around to the boutiques tomorrow to ask as well. So called my SA and she is now 1 in 5 brand ambassadors for Dior in the US. She also has a trip to Paris in less than a month. She told me she will inquire more but she hasn't heard anything about it. Called another boutique and they said if you like the scent stock up but they haven't been told anything and can't confirm or deny without an official publication from Dior. Yet, according to Google Dior usually doesn't announce these things. They just say oh indefinitely unavailable or delete the item. Gonna purchase one 200ml 2024 batch and call it a day with this scent. I love it but too much stress.

Анонім

Evocative of that first whiff you get out of a fresh bag of flavoured tobacco. Starts off quite sweet, but develops an incredible ambery complexity that's slightly smokey. If you like that moist smell of high quality pipe tobaccos, you'll likely enjoy this. Definitely potent and I'd recommend maximum 2-3 sprays, otherwise it could easily be overpowering. There's a cosy warmth to it, making it unsuitable for stuffy/hot weather imo.

Анонім

I got my hands on two bottles from 2018 and storing those as the rumor that this is being discontinued is now for sure

Анонім

The only thing that needs to be discontinued is someone contract! Why he ruins demachy masterpieces?!

Анонім

Amber tobacco and Honey with some animalics for sure..similar to the animalic accord you get from Kouros.

@brandonlee Yes, Tobacolor was reformulated sometime in 2022, I believe. I have a late 2020 batch, first formula, and it is considerably smokier/spicier than the reformulation. Dior has formula designations on their boxes usually after the ingredients (Original formula for Tobacolor is N 15555, reform is N 20566.) Like you, the original formula is a lot better than the very sweet reform.

Анонім

This one quickly became a love for me. Very addictive and opulent. It's tobacco/honey driven but very sweet gourmandish. Has an alluring comforting quality to it. Wraps around you like a warm blanket. People will lean-in to inhale more of you, and tell you how damn good you smell. Very intoxicating. Definitely unisex. I would enjoy smelling this on a female. I dig it. 10/10

Анонім

I can’t say with 100% certainty this got reformulated. But I purchased a sample off a website a couple months ago, tried it on and really enjoyed the scent. So I got a bottle off face book that was produced in 2024, and sadly it seemed pretty little less prudent. I don’t know if I just got a weaker batch, but my sample smells more pronounced. The honey and tobacco smell much more stronger. I get a nice kinda maple syrup smell from the sample. Either way its still a terrific scent.

This is good stuff...but for the hair-raisingly alarming pricetag.......there's just nothing groundbreaking here. Zesty opening, i don't get much fruit just a touch of amber, peach/apricot is fleetingly gone in a hurry Dries down as a mostly sweet tobacco and honey predominantly, with a mere touch of middle eastern spicy amber to fill the honey out, nice, functional, mild and sleepy..... boring all told. sweet, not gourmand spicy, but not much didn't develop much, stayed pretty linear and flat projection average, longevity good...around the 7-8 hours mark off 5 sprays each wrist unisex thats leaning a touch feminine, nice scent but nothing sells it for me. Its perhaps a good fragrance for work as its safe and unremarkable and......just another pleasant but unimaginative honey with light tobacco scent, nothing sets it apart from the crowd anywhere and i feel its way overpriced for what it is. In this genre i'd recommend 2 others above this that are better and more affordable....Oud Tobacco by Montale which to me feels about 85% the same as this. Its really close to that one and also Guerlain Tobacco Honey. Both have better performance and are more striking, more noticeable and more original in their interpretation of the exact same notes. Maybe Dior ripped their ideas off? 6/10 from me

Анонім

Is this reformulated? I tried this scent from dior boutique and as far as I remember, it isn't as dense compared from the year it was released.

Анонім

Very underwhelming perfume. It doesn't last well and the smell itself is very banal.

For anyone with reformulation concerns: I emailed Dior. See their lukewarm, anemic response below: Dear Mr. Roman, Parfums Christian Dior thanks you for your vested interest in its fragrances. Here is a description of Tobacolor. The scent still involves fruit: Tobacolor eau de parfum weaves notes of tobacco and plum on an olfactive stroll through the heart of a bazaar that shines with a thousand colors through the sweet smoke of hookahs. Amber and gourmand, the tobacco silhouette of this luxury perfume unfolds an olfactory fabric with a seemingly lamé shimmer, flowing between fruity and honeyed accents. A triumphant tribute to the luxury, mystery and magic of travel. ...I invite you to discover it on our online boutique by following the link below: https://www.dior.com/en_us/beauty/products/tobacolor-Y0996186.html?q=tobacolor Parfums Christian Dior thanks you for your faithfulness and wishes you a beautiful day. I don't know how it was before now, or if it was reformulated, but this right here is some righteous juice. So smooth, not too sweet, the perfect symbiosis of honey, plum, tobacco, and amber really has me intoxicated. The tobacco in here is so....radiant. It's almost like it's alive, but harmonizes so masterfully well with all the supporting notes. Whew! Can't get enough. Gotta say, Dior and Carolina Herrera simply are my favorite houses. I could care less for niche as long as these two are in business.
