To me it smells like a toothpaste with an orange flavour.

Анонім★★★★★

Fresh and herbal citrus. Like a tart lemon gummy candy. Pretty long lasting as well for a citrus scent.

Анонім★★★★★

Nice, fresh, herbal mandarin.

Oyédo is weird in a good way. A tangy lemon-lime flavor, a little like gummy candy, with a slightly muscat-grapey aftertaste; and simultaneously a metallic, bright note, like cold water from a hose on concrete. It's summertime in the city, kids are eating ice pops, and the fire hydrants are on. The citrus is zingy, neon-green, and just sweet enough. It's nothing like a traditional citrus cologne but it does the same job and smells great.

Nice sour smell for a pure refreshment purpose since lasts so little. Consistent through time comes off like a menthol candy or citric air freshener. Honeslty good for some summer fun but not for an everyday wear.

Анонім★★★★★

Their is definitely some kind of mint in here when I take it in my lungs feel that coldness like when you smell mint or eucalyptus, it’s herbal and citrus with cold mintyness it’s a strange combination and something I wouldn’t want to wear on a date but as a collector I enjoy its originality and find it a fun scent to wear during a hot day or to the gym

Анонім★★★★★

Right after I sprayed it, it was so nice, the yuzu came through and it was bright and fresh. Only about 10 mins later it really became menthol-esque and like some other folks have mentioned, smells like a cough drop. Really weird because there’s no mint in the notes but it somehow does really smell like menthol.

As a big fan of Diptyque, I’m afraid to say that Oyedo might be my least favorite fragrance from their permanent line. It’s overly synthetic and cleaner-like in the opening, but the lasting power for this EDT is pretty surprising.

Анонім★★★★★

Citrus cough syrup. There is a cooling aromatic mingling with the citrus fruits. It's like a gross cocktail of menthol and candied orange. Scrubber. 3/10

for months i tried to understand what was putting me off when i smelled oyédo and then it finally clicked: the aromatic, camphor-like undertone reminds me of an indian medicinal balm that my father used to apply. the association is entirely personal but i really i can’t get past it, it just reminds me of that faul thing. too bad oyédo :(

If you are looking for a citrus fragrance that breaks the mold of the "classic cologne", Oyedo by Diptyque (launched in 2000 and signed by the nose Akiko Kamei) is a splendid anomaly that deserves to be discovered. The name itself is a tribute to Edo, the ancient name of Tokyo, and the Asian inspiration can be felt from the first spray. Freshly vaporized, Oyedo is an explosion of pure energy. It's not your typical pungent or sour lemon; the inclusion of Yuzu (a Japanese citrus fruit with sour but incredibly aromatic nuances) and Mandarin creates a juicy, almost sugary effect. Many enthusiasts describe this opening as smelling like a homemade tangerine candy or a refreshing fizzy drink. It's cheerful, bright and decidedly summery. It is in the heart that the magic happens that distinguishes Oyedo from a simple "lemon perfume". When the initial shock settles, the Thyme emerges. This green, aromatic note contrasts the sweetness of the citrus, giving the fragrance a more mature, slightly balsamic and pleasantly medicinal/herbaceous structure. In the finish, the perfume warms up and sits on a bed of clean and discreet Forest Notes. The base is not heavy, but serves to give persistence to the citrus fruits, leaving a clean sensation on the skin, like a linen shirt dried in the sun. Citrus fruits and thyme lean neither towards the typically masculine nor towards the feminine. It is at its best in the heat, offering an immediate boost of freshness. Being a citrus Eau de Toilette it doesn't last all day, but it holds up well (about 4-5 hours on the skin, more on clothes). It stands out in the first 30 minutes, then becomes a "skin" scent, perfect for those who don't like invasive fragrances. I recommend it: To those who love fresh perfumes but are looking for something original. If you like fragrances that smell clean, of crushed citrus peel and that have a nostalgic and sparkling touch, Oyedo is a small masterpiece of artistic perfumery.

I think this is truly disgusting. But that's probably because i hate fruits in perfume.

Oyédo smells like someone took a basket of freshly peeled yuzu and mandarins, then accidentally dropped a handful of lemon candies into it and decided it was an improvement. The opening is sparkling, juicy and almost ridiculously cheerful. It’s citrus, but not the stern, cologne kind. This is citrus with a sweet tooth. The candy facet keeps it playful without turning it into a sugary mess. What surprises me most is the cooling effect. Every time I wear it on my wrists, it feels like a tiny citrus breeze is blowing over my skin. On a hot day, it’s practically aromatherapy for people who wish air conditioning came in perfume form. Performance isn’t nuclear, but that’s part of the charm. Oyédo doesn’t enter a room before you do. It simply follows you around like a polite, well dressed cloud of candied citrus. If sunshine came wrapped in cellophane and sold at an upscale Parisian boutique, it would probably smell a lot like this.

Selling my 50 ml bottle 95% full! CA to CONUS

It's the start of summer here in Abu Dhabi. This perfume smells interesting. It's unique. Almost medicinal. It's a very nice departure to the oud-heavy fragrances that I always smell every day. To my nose, the opening is a burst of fresh citrus fruits. I wore it at the gym earlier today and my buddy told me I smelled like a cough syrup. I thought he was making fun of me. Then I went to Fragrantica and read some reviews. He wasn't kidding. I still like it and will definitely wear it to the gym again. It has this cooling effect when applied directly on skin. Fresh, unique, and inoffensive scent.

Fun Orange cyrup .not bad

I got the travel spray discovery set from Diptyque that you can create and add 5 perfumes yourself. Very citrusy and nice. I might wear this in the summer a lot.

Анонім★★★★★

This fragrance is FUN. It smells so playful, almost cartoonishly colorful. The lime is definitely aggressive, which also gives its identity to this little bottle of summery goofiness, but the feeling can be bizarre so beware.

Best smelling fragrance. It’s Spring / Summer here in San Diego. There is no other fragrance you’d need. 100ml bottle for the season and I’m set! I’ve only discovered this fragrance this year and already purchased a full retail bottle. It’s THAT good. Hard to believe it was developed in 2000. This thing was ahead of its time. I remember my first first first impression of this fragrance was “orange sherbet 50-50 crème bar”. After multiple wears, my take on this fragrance is that’s it’s a safe blind-buy for its category. 4 different citruses on top of Raspberry , Thyme and Woods. Nothing experimental about that! !!!!! ***(Raspberry is an official note on the Diptyque website that is not mentioned on Fragrantica)*** !!!! There is nothing floral, fruity, spicy, or gourmand about this thing. Attention -grabbing citrus with juicy raspberry. I’ve already purchased a Travalo travel- atomizer so I can take this fragrance everywhere! Lasts decently long. Maybe 3 hours on skin and 5 hours on clothes. Still pretty good for a citrus-bomb of such premiere quality! This thing PROJECTS heavy in the first 2 hours. People WILL smell you if you apply this properly. Not only does it smell phenomenal, the ingredients just make you feel good. Depending where you live, I can confirm no one is wearing this! I only discovered this because there is a Diptyque store in UTC San Diego that I happened to walk by. I tested this fragrance. Then came back the following week for a full bottle. This is the second time in my 5 years of fragrance where a scent has captivated me so much that I have to immediately seek a full bottle. I’d recommend this fragrance for: Spring/ Summer West Coast vibes Reliable and consistent daily driver fragrance Blind buy and safe fragrance Those who need to make a vibrant impression Better than Creed Aventus Better than Roja Elysium Better than TF Neroli Portofino Better than PDM Layton Better than Kilian Sun-kissed Goddess

Diptyque #9 – Ointment or perfume? As im aproaching the final third of my Diptyque sample set, my enthusiasm and momentum for them has admitedly fallen behind a bit. The neverending green and watery colors painted by the house has gotten dull for a moment but luckily, Oyedo came in for the rescue exactly at the right time. Finally i see a bit of “flamboyance” and most importantly, alot more texture. Whilst the majority of the Diptyque scents i’ve tested managed to portray an image, none really succeeded in creating proper texture other then the here-and-there aquatic-ness and soapyness. Oyedo swings the pendulum in the opposite direction completly because it showcases a bold texture. It does more then that, it creates a kind of goosebump-inducing cooling effect to my nose that leaves me in wonder at the mere possbility of creating such an effect purely with olfactory triggers. I don’t know what Vapor Rub is specifically, but i think i have an ideea based on descriptions and on what we have in Eastern Europe. In my country there is a green gel labeled as “Strength of the Horse”. Funnily, many people claim that its actually ment for horses however im not sure of that myself. It might just be the name of the gel and the often potrayed horse figure on the packaging that created this impression. It is often prescribed to people as an anti-inflammatory or antirheumatic gel because of its strong cooling effect. You rub that on your skin and you hide under the blankets in the middle of summer because of how cooling it is. Oyedo smells exactly like the gel, atleast in the opening. Even in the drydown when the effect loses some of its intensity, the medicinal nouance remains, morphing into a lemon cough-drop like accord. I didn’t try to guess what notes are featured in the composition and altho initially mint came to my mind, it didn’t feel right. I see yuzu and lemon and indeed they account to the scent but its the thyme that sets the tone. Thyme is a key note in one of my favourite “meditative” type of fresh perfumes, Point du Jour. The camphorous effect in the Lutens creation made me fall in love with it and i believe its also the camphorous accord that creates the cooling effect in Oyedo. The behaviour is different in Point du Jour because its held back and “soothed” by the mellow and watery eucalyptus note. Here in Oyedo its bolstered and allowed to “go wild” by the cold citrusy notes of lemon and yuzu, hence the intensity in the beginning. Believe it or not, Oyedo strikes me as a relatively challenging perfume. Not because it features any of the typically challenging notes known in perfumery. Infact, the end result doesn’t even seem to feature typical notes in general and that is where the challenge lies. Even the majority of the perfumes that are considered to be challenging still feature notes that most people who are into perfumes are familiar with, they feature something to “hold onto” or get started on. Classic citruses, woods, greens, ambers, whatever. As it is, the scent of Oyedo sits closer to a medicinal product rather then a traditional perfume. I see how this places Oyedo firmly in a niche category because its a composition that would be appreciated by particular people with particular tastes.

It smells like candied citrus but sadly in a bad way 😭

Анонім★★★★★

A tingling, refreshing, camphorous yuzu perfume! It’s fresh and aromatic and herbaceous. The green makes me think of mint and cough drops but the yuzu is bright and sweet and tangy! I love it. It’s not a generic perfume that’s sweet and fruity. It’s different. Smells like a summer time apothecary in the best way. Definitely not for everyone (not a safe blind buy).

Анонім★★★★★

I Love this scent! It's an awakening. Definitely strong citrus open and an amazing longevity. The dry down on skin is certainly unique with the thyme note, it's quite strange at first, but intense and aromatic. I can see why it's not for everyone, but more niche. The dry down on clothes is a fantastic to me, sweet and juicy.

Анонім★★★★★

When first sprayed it truly gives the feeling like you're peeling a variety of different citrus fruits and you can smell the citrus peel while the juice is is being released hitting you lightly in the face. Its sparkly citrus , sweet and cooling, not only does it have a coolness that you smell bit it gives my skin a cooling affect, its the only perfume to have done this. If you are on the hunt for a true citrus scent, you should check this out, its a beautiful scent

Анонім★★★★★

I don't mind the vibe and smell of this perfume, but there is something about it that makes me feel physically ill and weirdly light headed in a way I have never felt before, definitely try before you buy and make sure you don't feel the same as I do.

Анонім★★★★★

This smells like lemon effervescent medicine tablets (like alka-seltzer).

Анонім★★★★★

I find this to be a contemporary rendition of citrus. In a delectable way, Oyedo reminds me of chewing a handful of Skittles. Linear in quality, the initial spray reveals rinds of lime that are instantly mellowed by a tart and fruity scent—like candied juicy pulps of oranges and yuzu. Quite a fashion forward fragrance.

Анонім★★★★★

This smells EXACTLY like a lemon jolly rancher!!! Doesn't change much for me, just fades away. Longevity isn't too fleeting for a citrus and for this house.

Анонім★★★★★

this literally just smells like celery to me

Pleasant juicy yuzu... love the thyme in this, keeps it fresh and airy
